Saichi Sugimoto heads to Hokkaido.
[Sugimoto] I need money anyway.
[narrator] Sugimoto learns that the only way to find the hidden gold

[old man gasps] Oh, uh, what an adorable little girl!
Uh, she's about the same age as my granddaughter.
[Sugimoto] Careful, she gets grumpy when she's tired.
My, you have such beautiful eyes.
If I look closely, I can see green flecks in those eyes.
[apprehensive music playing]
[old man grumbles]
I'd guess she has some Russian blood in her veins.
[yelps]
[Sugimoto] What's wrong?
[Shiraishi] Huh?! Uh… nothing.
I know someone who shares those same eyes.
[mystical music playing]
What does she call herself?
Asirpa.
[Hijikata grunts]
Japanese name?
[Sugimoto] Japanese name?
She must have a name for the family register.
[Sugimoto] Well… I've never heard it.
[Hijikata] Hm.
I see.
Your scar, it's familiar.
Umedo had a scar on his face just like that one.
"Umedo"? Is that some friend of yours?
Although,
that brutality hidden deep within you…
[quirky string music playing]
[inhales] …it's more like Kuwajiro.
[music darkens]
Well, if you'll excuse me.
Take care of yourself… [chuckles softly]
…Asirpa.
[Sugimoto] That was one weird old man.
[chuckling] Yeah! Must be getting senile, right?
MAKE A COPY
[Sugimoto] Hey, Asirpa.
You're gonna catch a cold if you sleep out here.
-[Asirpa] I will not. -[Shiraishi chuckles]
[music intensifies]
[music intensifies]
He must be crazy.
[unsettling music playing]
[music fades out]
I'm from the Seventh Division.
Who are the other traitors?
[man 1] No doubt in my mind this is his handiwork.
[man 2] Let's hunt Tanigaki down.
They're no longer in the Seventh Division. They're my enemies now.
[man 1] It's about Abashiri Prison. I know what happened.
His treachery is a great loss.
[Hijikata] I'm looking for a girl.
Noppera-Bo, who is he really?
You mean…
[upbeat rock music playing]
[music ends]
