of this tribe,

GENEVIEVE:
Like, I feel so guilty

even thinking about

the game implications.

(sniffles)

Q:
After Kyle's departure,

I was a bit emotional.

And that emotion really
just cleared my mind.

It made me start over.

We had an alliance of five,

but with Kyle missing,
we're down in numbers.

So we have Colby,

Stephenie, Genevieve.

We have myself.
That's the core four.

But Colby don't have a vote.

And I sold my vote
to get the supplies.

But I have a plan.

Q: I now have to open up
to Rizo about my loss of vote.

'Cause he has to replace Kyle
when it comes to voting.

Wow.

I think, coming into
Survivor 50,

I was really, really hyper.

And I think it rubbed people

the wrong way,
so I had to course correct.

And I think, in these last
four days, I've done a great job

shifting everyone's perception.

I might have started
on the hot seat,

but I've slowly inched my way

to the top
of this food chain on Vatu.

One of us gonna win the game.

I'm rock solid. This is us
till the wheels fall off.

COLBY:
We-we know... I believe that.

- And I appreciate it--

RIZO:
And it's very motivating for me

because it's like,
"Wow, I can turn

"this group of returning
players' perceptions around

about me this quick?"

I think I have
a long stay in this game.

CHRISTIAN:

JOE:

We're at camp, and Christian
freezes like a statue,

and it looked as if he had
some type of spinal injury,

the way he was
so erect and stiff.

I thought for sure, I was like,
"Oh, man, he threw his back out.

It happens."

But then he turns,

and he's wearing khakis.

I was like, "Well,

"I don't think
he sat in a puddle of water.

I don't think
he sat in a smashed banana."

And the way he was shuffling,

like my little one,
when she was little,

when she would go
to the toilet...

(laughs)

So, there are many elements
of being human.

Laughing, crying,

cuddling a loved one,

but also the sheer
and utter embarrassment

of unexpected
gastrointestinal distress.

I thought could happen

on this show, I didn't expect

an unexpected evacuation.

of this prior experience

(Joe laughs)

This is not the first time
that the bowels

have created problems
for Survivors.

And now, I have
entered the pantheon,

the history of people

became unexpectedly coloured.

JOE:

Sadly, yesterday,

to his Achilles injury.

Obviously, you played
a very close game with Kyle.

- So what's the reaction

for you, knowing the sacrifice

that everybody makes
to come out here?

Nobody wants to go home, ever.

Yeah, it's one thing
to get voted out of the game,

but to be pulled out
'cause of an injury, like,

they're so hard to prevent.

It's so early in the game, too.
It's not even

like a medevac
later on in the game.

It's, like, our...

We've only done
one immunity challenge.

Ozzy, I'm sure
you hear all the time,

all of you,
have people ask you,

"Yeah, but how real is it?"

I mean, Jeff,
the first challenge that I did,

I thought
I was gonna be medevacked.

After trying
to get this key off a pole,

my back was toast.
It was spasming.

I feel Kyle's pain.

It's so hard. It's so hard.

PROBST:
Coach, you were a part
of that fight for supplies.

Can you relate to what

Ozzy's talking about in terms of
just difficulty out of the gate?

Yeah, it was
a really difficult challenge.

I-I really want to get
as far in this game as possible

with just a shred of dignity.

And so I might blow my game up
for discussing this.

But I want to set the record
straight about the challenge.

There was a key.
We all fought hard for it.

At one point,
Ozzy said to Q, "Hey,

if it drops,
I'm gonna let you have it."

In my mind, I said, "Screw that.
It's every man for himself."

So, as soon as that key dropped,
I speared it,

and I pulled it out.

So I want everybody to know,

this is the same old Coach

that you've always seen.

I'm playing this game
with as much honour as possible.

Coach, if I hadn't
got that key off,

I don't really think, Coach,

you were ever gonna
get that key off.

COACH: But anyway, I just
want to set the record straight.

I'm playing this game
like I've always played it,

for 101 frigging days.

Yeah, I think he is playing the

PROBST:
Wow.

So let's get to today's
reward challenge, shall we?

(all voicing assent)

All right, for today's
challenge, one at a time,

you're gonna leap off

a platform,

smash a tile, releasing a key.

You'll then make your way
across a series

of balance beams
and swim to the finish.

Once you have all three keys,
another player

will dive down
to retrieve two rings.

Then the three remaining
tribe members will use the keys

to unlock a third ring.

Then it is a race
to land three rings

on three targets.

First two tribes
to finish win reward.

that are like a tangled web.

I can't tell
who feels good with who.

And I feel like I'm trying
to solve a Rubik's Cube

when it comes to what's going on
in the Vatu tribe.

That means something is wrong
with that coconut.

COLBY: Agree.

- GENEVIEVE: Really?
- What?

Q: It should taste
like coconut water,

not lemonade water.

AUBRY:
I have a slightly
dysfunctional relationship

with Survivor.

I mean, it's just,
Survivor's exhausting, right?

I really do love this game,

but it's still hard sometimes.

It's hard because you have

to manage
your energy expenditure,

and that's not something
I've ever been good at.

In Kaoh Rong,
I didn't do that very well,

and it led to me

kind of crashing out.

I am aware that I am just
in this real weird spot.

But this time, I've learned
not to completely lose it,

'cause Survivor
changes on a dime.

GENEVIEVE: There's been
something that seems

so strange to me, and I'm just

a suspicious gal by nature.

What I think I notice is

Aubry being a little
more precious with her bag.

I start to think, if I found

a Boomerang Idol on day four,

maybe other tribes
have found it, which means

someone could have an idol
on my beach

without me ever
being able to see

that they were
looking for an idol.

And so, I am

convinced
Aubry has a Boomerang Idol,

and that it's probably

in her bag right now.

GENEVIEVE:
The idol is a circle,

and it's about the width

of your pinky,
so a circle like that,

with beads in the middle and a
string and beads hanging down.

She's dangerous, too.

COLBY: Our concern that Aubry

has a Boomerang Idol

or some sort of advantage

came to a fever pitch.

Q:
It is.

You want
to go through it real quick?

Now, if someone goes through
your bag outside of Survivor,

that just breaks every rule
of decency there is.

But all bets are off
when you come in Survivor.

Q:
What I'll do is,

when she starts to come back up,
I'll just say, "Let's go."

if somebody come back up.

Q:
My job in the bag search

was be the lookout.

what was happening.

I love the water.

I love the fact
that we get to do this in Fiji.

I'm a one-dimensional player.

this time, I'm playing
a little different.

I'm the most loyal person,

and I don't really think that
much about what's going on.

There's a warmth to Coach.

everybody's drawn to him.

And he loves adventure.

And he likes seeing how far
he can push himself.

to go spearfishing with me.

he just lays there like this.

He got a massive cramp,

and I was nervous.

I thought for sure that we were
gonna be in trouble.

But thank God

Survivor has safety swimmers
around

just in case somebody's
in trouble in the water.

So, they pull him up
on the boat,

and they bring him back in.

Yeah, dude.
A ... massive cramp

in both legs.

Oh!

I cramped up
so bad out there, man.

MIKE: Poor Coach. He, like...
He goes out

to, like... (laughs)

...show he's got the stuff
with Jonathan,

and then, within minutes,
both his calves are,

like, horribly cramping,
and he has to be, like, rescued.

Aah. We got
to get you some water, man.

COACH:
I'm gonna drink,
like, five coconuts.

Get that potassium in there.

MIKE:
He must have been

lying, like, in the water, like,
completely, like, helpless,

like a-like bug in a pool.

(Coach groans)

CHARLIE:

COACH: Coming out here,
you always wonder

in your psyche
if you're gonna be

good enough to play this game--

physically, mentally, spiritually.

And I thought, "I'm physically
ready to rock this."

And I would have died if it
wouldn't have been for Jonathan,

and that is no joke.

And so it's like, "Hey, pal,
don't get too full of yourself.

I got to be

cool and not overextend myself.

CHRISSY:

I like everybody on this tribe,

but we're an absolute mess.

I mean, Coach is old,
and, like, kind of dismantled,

and then you got Chrissy.

It's innately in her
to be a mom.

And she's trying
a little bit too hard

to mother too much
to this tribe.

- Is that bad or good?
- Good.

DEE:
And I'm not saying
that Chrissy's a bad person,

but she can be
a little too much.

Charlie, if you want
to start on the floor,

but instead of five lanes,

I think we should
do four double wide.

You know what I mean?

CHARLIE:
I like Chrissy. I'm a sucker

for a number one alliance

with an older woman.

That's my bread and butter.

But you can't always
play the same way.

CHARLIE:
Even if I like Chrissy,
other people on the tribe

are getting a little miffed

about some of the stuff
that she's doing.

that I got on the journey

because I don't trust
any of these people.

very loyal last time.

And, you know,

I do want to play
a really loyal game this time.

I think the trouble is

SAVANNAH:

are trying to pitch an alliance
to me, you know, with Joe.

But they don't know that
I already have my core alliance

of Emily and Christian.

it would probably be Ozzy
on the chopping block.

Although there is a part of me
that says, "Man,

"if we booted Joe, like,

my game would be so freed up."

Because with Joe,

he's all about
honour and integrity, which is

not that fun,

especially
when you get strategic,

because you have to
work around his principles.

It's a little awkward
when you whisper

to another person

And I did see Rick whisper

- and Coach, so, I'll take it.

So, what was Savannah saying

Joe is so frustrating.

In Survivor, you give
each other grace. Like,

I'm gonna see two people
whispering, and that's okay.

But Joe wants to play his way,

and we all have to
play around him,

and it sucks, man,

especially on season 50.

It's boring,

and it's restricting,
and all of us are

coming out here
to play unleashed.

- Joe management is very hard.
- CHRISTIAN: Yes.
- CIRIE: Mm-hmm.

Is there a world where we just

totally
leave him out of the vote,

and then come back to camp
and say, "We did that for you,

we didn't want
to put you in a position"?

But then he's gonna want
to know what the plan is.

- So what would we do?
- Right.

CHRISTIAN:
For someone so code-oriented,

you got to be careful
how you handle Joe.

What we could have
is a Joe schedule.

Like, a rotation.
A Joe-tation.

And enough people talk to him.

It's not like we're,
like, babysitting.

It's just, like,
making sure that, like,

"Hey, well,
how are you thinking?"

Can we leave him out
of the vote?

I think that's possible, but...

It always could go sideways,
one of us could get sniped.

Before today,

Joe was on nobody's radar.

But after today, it's very clear

that you can't
just play with him.

You have to play around him.

He has set his boundaries,
and he is okay with that.

Have to be someone I trust,

who thinks they can trust me.

I also have
a more diabolical plan.

Here's what I think
is actually happening.

I think Cirie wants
to protect Ozzy

because I do think that
they're working together.

I think Cirie smells
a little blood in the water

and saw this as an opportunity
to protect her ally

and get out Joe.

She's very crafty.

I will say, Cirie is...

I don't know if she wants
Joe out because of the chaos

or because
she wants to protect Ozzy.

- EMILY: To me,
Joe is an easy vote.

- Ozzy's a more
interesting vote.

EMILY:
In this game, you have to be

very conscious
about how other people operate.

I think Cirie is doing a lot
right now to protect Ozzy,

and I think
the two of them may have had

an alliance from the very,
very beginning of this game.

I just don't want us
to be distracted by Cirie.

My preference,
I think, would be Ozzy.

The alliance isn't even
solidified on who they want,

not to mention
the other people in the tribe.

My honest preference is still...

This is getting complicated
very quickly.

EMILY: Typically,
this is what happens as

we get closer
to Tribal Council.

The panic starts to pick up.

And while I'm sitting here
going back and forth

to my head about
do I want to vote Ozzy,

do I want to vote Savannah,

Joe's over here just slowly
sinking his own ship.

It's really wild to sit here
and try to, like,

map out
all the different possibilities

about what could happen.

And that makes

incredibly chaotic.

And while that's really fun,

there's a scary side of it

that means
literally anybody could go home.

So, Joe, I know
it's only day six.

This is only your second
Tribal Council.

But it just feels like
the intensity of the game

is at a very different spot
than it was

the first time
you all came to Tribal.

JOE:
Yeah, Jeff, without a doubt.

And I do want
to lead with this.

Unfortunately, myself and Rick
got into an argument

after a challenge,

and I take ownership
in some of that.

Uh, we hashed it out,
but that might have

affected the mood

and the vibe of the afternoon.

PROBST:
Okay, so Devens, was this

a public conversation?

RICK: Yeah, I mean, I think
the intensity you picked up on

is-is there,
and it's everywhere,

and that's part
of what led to this conflict.

And it's funny
'cause, like, Joe and I

are very much alike
in many ways,

like, physique and stubbornness.

- And today,

the physique didn't have
anything to do with it,

but the stubbornness did.

PROBST:
And Joe, do you worry
that having a big argument

could be enough
for people to go, "Hey, man,

- we don't want this at camp"?

that doesn't turn into
something larger.

But on the other hand,
you look at it like

that we're in some
of the most stressful,

unique environments,
and we're learning each other.

And that's why I try to own it.

And you move on. But,

yeah, anything
can move the needle.

PROBST:
So, Cirie, what do you do

when you're in a season

that has the uncertainty
that this one does,

and you still have uncertainty
as a group?

You may know of each other,

but not everybody here
knows each other.

CIRIE:
Basically, Jeff, with

this type of player
and this speedy game

and season 50,
the only thing you can do is

listen to your gut
that tells you

"trust this person,
don't trust this person."

And it's where
the puzzle fits together

as this group moves forward.

Ozzy, Cirie says
you got to listen to your gut.

You've been blindsided before.

- Oh, yeah.
- Your gut isn't always right,

especially if you're playing
with other great players.

Their job is to convince you
your gut is right.

OZZY:
Yeah, Jeff, the hardest thing

is just sifting through

the torrent of information
and feelings

that are running through
your head at any given moment.

For example,
today, in the challenge,

I got frustrated,
and, you know, I kind of

raised my voice a little bit.

I think
I made these guys nervous,

and I think coming in

with this level of uncertainty,
it creates a lot of anxiety.

You don't know
what's around the next bend.

You just hope that you can fight
one more day to see it.

having to merge
with each other?

SAVANNAH:
Sure. And I mean, I'll argue

you only know, what, like,

a very small fraction
of people's gameplay

and of people's personalities
out here.

But at the same time, like,
I was not expecting

to connect with certain people

in the way that I'm connecting.
You know what I mean?

And one of the things I learned
in my season was, like,

how important it is
to be vulnerable with people.

Because I had kind of a wall up
for a while.

And I was scared
to let people in

and see the real me,
because, honestly, like,

I didn't want to be rejected.

And I just wanted to be, like,
you know, accepted.

And I think I kind of had, like,
this cool-girl mentality.

And as that season
went on and on, um,

you know, Survivor
just breaks you down.

And I had no choice
but to just be myself.

It's like this
imposter syndrome, right?

Like, you want to be someone
who's a little bit tough,

and you want to be someone who's

sociable and likeable
and everything,

but it actually
puts up this wall

from them getting
to know the real you.

And I think that when
you're vulnerable with people,

they see part of themselves
in your story.

And so, that's what I'm doing
out here in season 50.

I feel like I already kind of
am carrying on that momentum

of just being myself,

and hopefully, it's something
that people want to work with

and get to know,
and that's all I can ask for.

PROBST:
So, Christian,
from a criteria standpoint,

who to vote out,

you've got Savannah, an unknown,

but clearly, liked by everybody.

You got a dustup with Joe.

You got Ozzy saying,

"It was my fault today."
Do any of those matter,

or is it something else?

The answer is solidarity.

It's security.
It's cohesiveness.

That way, the team
that we have is good to go

for whatever comes our way.

It's fundamental.

When there's more uncertainty,
the more you seek safety.
