[The Wanted Detective]

[Episode 16]

They're not done talking yet?

I couldn't hear what they were saying,

but Feng was getting pretty worked up.

Let's eat first.

I've told you everything

about your master.

What are you going to do now?

In the Yesha case,

the red crystal used by Chu Guangsha and Huo Zongyao

was made by you.

What's your connection

to those people in Haiya?

I can tell you

everything I know,

but you have to let me go.

Don't even dream about that.

I can give you the Yin-Yang Book,

but until the Yesha case is solved,

there's no way we're letting you go.

Then just kill me.

Once I'm dead,

you'll have your revenge,

but everything you want to know

will probably remain a mystery forever.

Come eat now.

Beiming,

I let Old Bug go.

You let him go?

Why did you do that?

Are you crazy?

He's connected to Yesha,

and you just let him go.

What about Beiming?

It's precisely because he's connected to Yesha

that I let him go.

Did Old Bug blackmail you

with information about Yesha?

I can tell you something.

I've seen Yesha.

So,

do you dare to make this deal?

Once you let him go,

it'll be hard to catch him again.

What about avenging your master's death?

Making Old Bug pay for his crimes

was indeed

what I wanted most before.

But now,

compared to avenging my master's death,

some people and things

are more important.

What's your relationship with Yesha?

Actually, I don't have much of a relationship with him.

If anything,

it's just employer and employee.

Why are you here?

There's a new assignment.

He found me

and asked me to create a poison for him.

You know,

I'm most interested in this kind of thing.

You know him?

No, I don't.

Didn't you say you'd met him?

He had his face covered.

I couldn't see what he really looked like.

I'm sorry.

But Old Bug

still provided us with some clues

about Yesha.

Although he covered his face,

he looked like a young man.

And

on the right side of his eye,

there's a black mole.

Would this

be of any help to you?

Did he say he was a young man?

Zhu Yitie said he was an old man.

Qing Ying said he was always by her side.

And Old Bug said

he was a young man.

How many Yeshas are there?

The only clue

we have now is that

Yesha has a mole near his eye.

But the Qi Kingdom is so vast.

Looking for someone with a mole

would take forever!

What else did Old Bug say?

The red crystal.

He came to me

and asked me to create a poison for him.

He wanted something

that wouldn't be easily detected

and with long-term use,

it would cause hallucinations

until death.

After much consideration,

I decided only the red crystal would be suitable.

The Yin-Yang Book

does mention the red crystal,

but it never documents how to make it.

How did you learn to make it?

Both your master and I

know how to create the red crystal,

but it is not recorded in the Yin-Yang Book.

Because your hypocritical master

secretly deleted it.

At that time, your master thought

that the process of making the red crystal was too cruel

and didn't want this method

to spread throughout the world.

Fortunately, I remember it.

Otherwise,

such a valuable thing

would have been lost forever.

What exactly is the red crystal?

Well, the red crystal

is made from a rare mineral

called red obsidian

through special methods

of refinement.

Finding the red obsidian isn't difficult.

The difficult thing

is to find the medicinal usher.

What is it?

Even a tiny amount of red crystal

requires large amounts of corpse oil

and living blood to refine.

Corpse oil and living blood?

I told Yesha about the ingredients

and the refinement method.

I never expected

that he would actually make it.

Yesha really surprised me!

You'd never believe

how many people he killed to refine that much red crystal.

I can't believe there's such a cruel method

of refining poison.

No matter how many Yeshas there are now,

whether they're old or young,

we must

catch them as soon as possible.

Otherwise more

innocent people will die needlessly.

Old Bug just

mentioned another clue.

What?

The red obsidian.

Since the red obsidian is rare,

there can't be many sources.

We can start our investigation there.

That shouldn't be difficult.

I'll go look into it now.

Be careful.

Let's eat first.

Little White Dragon.

You have something else to say,

something meant for my ears only, right?

There's something

I didn't tell Constable Zhong and the others.

My illness?

How did you know?

Actually, the Fire Cicada can't detoxify

the Blood-freezing Frost poison.

Right?

There is no antidote

to the poison in Xiao Beiming at all.

No antidote?

Impossible!

You're lying to me!

You fool!

Do you really think

that fighting poison with poison

could cure him?

That could only stimulate

the tiny bit of vitality

he had left.

If you don't believe me,

go check his arm.

There must be

a livid streak of blood.

That's because the poison

has already entered

his meridians.

That livid streak of blood

will gradually darken and spread.

Once it turns black

and covers his entire arm,

he will be dead.

He has a month to live at most.

Why?

You're lying.

I'm not lying.

Think about it carefully.

Your master devoted his life to detoxification,

but actually developed

Blood-freezing Frost,

a poison that even I

have never heard of.

Do you really think

the Fire Cicada

can detoxify this kind of poison?

You're really underestimating your master.

Actually, he might not necessarily die.

Give me the Yin-Yang Book

and let me go.

I'll go back and study it properly.

I might find an antidote

before he dies.

But I've already gone through

the Yin-Yang Book many times.

If it were useful,

I would have used it already.

That's because you're stupid.

With your talent,

even if you memorized

the whole Yin-Yang Book,

you'd grasp

barely a fraction of its wisdom.

That book would be a waste

in your hands.

But I'm different from you.

Even if you can develop an antidote,

I won't let you go that easily.

Who knows if you'll

reveal Beiming's

whereabouts?

I promise

I won't tell anyone

about his whereabouts.

Though I've created poisons and done evil deeds,

in the martial world,

I value my word above all.

How about it?

Dare to take that bet?

You let go of Old Bug,

saying it was for the clues of Yesha,

but in fact, it was for me.

Even if I couldn't get

any clues about Yesha,

you and Constable Zhong

could still find them out.

How could I possibly

let him go

without your permission?

The Blood-freezing Frost poison

is more severe than I imagined.

One month left...

Beiming.

I'm sorry.

I'm sorry.

I shouldn't have wasted time looking for the Fire Cicada,

taking up so much of your time.

I'm sorry.

Don't say that.

If you hadn't desperately searched for the Fire Cicada,

I probably wouldn't even have

this one month left.

You've given me

dozens of extra days to live.

But I still couldn't cure you.

All right.

Little White Dragon.

Little White Dragon.

I should be thanking you.

You desperately searched for an antidote for me,

and kept it secret,

without telling

Xueman and Tong Shuang about this.

If those two

found out,

they wouldn't care about any cases

or Yesha anymore.

They'd just hover around me.

You only have one month left,

and you still want to investigate cases?

I remember you once told me

that you are a coroner,

and even with a knife at your throat,

you would never put down

your autopsy knife.

Do you remember

the first time we met?

Everyone thinks

you're the Little White Dragon from the Poison Valley

who uses poison to kill.

But only you know

that you're just a healer who can't bear

to watch others die without trying to save them.

Everyone in the world

thinks I am Yesha.

But only I know

I'm just a constable

trying to uncover the truth.

Even if I die,

I'll die on the path of justice.

This is my life.

It's all right.

It's all right.

Beiming, Coroner Feng.

What is it?

I've found the clue about the red obsidian.

Let's go.

It's Weizhou again?

That's right.

The red obsidian can only be found

in Weizhou throughout the Qi Kingdom.

There's a red obsidian mine there,

but the yield is extremely low.

If the red crystal is truly refined

from the red obsidian,

then going to Weizhou

will surely lead to clues about Yesha.

Previously, a large sum of money

from Chu Guangsha's accounts

also flowed into Weizhou.

We should definitely go to Weizhou.

Then let's pack up

and get going right away.

Tong Shuang?

What's wrong with him?

I'll take you to Weizhou.

I'm from Weizhou.

You're from Weizhou?

You've never mentioned

anything about your hometown before.

That's right.

You must have been away from home for a long time, right?

This time you can go back

and see your family.

You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to.

It's fine.

Since we're already on the subject,

there's nothing I can't share.

I'm the Third Young Master

of the Pingyuan Escort Agency in Weizhou.

Pingyuan Escort Agency?

I know that escort agency.

Weren't they...

Yes,

they were wiped out.

I'm so sorry.

I didn't mean to

make you recall those painful memories.

It's all right.

It's been a long time.

So how did you

and Beiming meet?

I knew if my enemies

discovered I was still alive,

I would certainly be killed.

So I fled from Weizhou

and wandered around the world.

Unfortunately I was captured by a heartless trafficker

who sold me

to the border regions.

I suffered terribly there.

Luckily, I met Beiming later.

So from then on,

I've been following him,

and he has also become

my only family.

During those three years I was on the run,

officials and bounty hunters

were all looking for me.

If it weren't for Tong Shuang,

I would hardly be able

to stand before you now.

During those three years, to protect me,

he got many scars on his body.

That's all in the past.

Look at us now!

Aren't we doing just fine?

Right?

After you left Weizhou,

you haven't been back, right?

This is a good opportunity to return

and pay respects to your family.

Right, let's get going now.

Taking the main road to Weizhou

will take several days at least.

Let's pack up now.

No, this journey is important.

We need to be fully prepared.

There's no need to rush.

I...

I just fear that prolonged delay may bring unexpected troubles.

True, but we need to

pack our luggage first.

Let's leave early tomorrow morning.

Xueman,

you, Feng Qingzhuo, and Tong Shuang

are all official constables of the Elite Constabulary Unit.

If you want to leave the capital,

you need a legitimate reason.

Otherwise you'll be charged with

dereliction of duty.

I've thought of a way

to get to Weizhou.

The Elite Constabulary Unit ordered

ten batches of horses from the frontier.

These horses

developed a disease when they reached Weizhou.

Dozens of horses are stranded in Weizhou,

and the Elite Constabulary Unit needs to

send someone to bring them back.

What are you suggesting?

We can volunteer ourselves.

Feng can treat people.

So what's wrong with saying

he can treat horses?

Me?

Right.

I have absolutely no problem with that.

But this is

a dirty and exhausting task.

Everyone in the Elite Constabulary Unit is trying to avoid it.

If you volunteer,

Fang Tianzheng

might become suspicious of you.

I...

have a plan.

Look!

My cricket, Flat-headed General,

is so fat and strong.

It looks great.

Come on.

Call it "Flat-headed General".

Alright.

Flat-headed General's cricket

is really impressive.

Are you happy?

You idiot!

Zhong Xueman?

You didn't even announce yourself.

Zhong Xueman.

What are you doing?

Were those people causing trouble

near the Elite Constabulary Unit the other day

your creditors?

None of your business.

I remember someone

warned you before

that he'd break your legs if you gambled again.

Looks like you really

have no shame!

Are you determined to

completely disgrace

our Elite Constabulary Unit?

Go away.

Yeah.

Someone did warn me before,

but that person

has already disgraced

our Elite Constabulary Unit completely.

Constable Zhong,

since you're so capable,

why are you picking on me?

Why don't you arrest him?

He's your husband, after all.

Xueman,

what are you doing?

Why are you being so brutal?

Come on.

Get up.

Calm down.

Zhong Xueman,

have you no regard for the law?

You're being so arrogant, huh?

Go ahead and beat me to death!

Stop talking.

Stop.

Everyone, stop!

Chief.

-Chief. -Uncle!

Uncle, she hit me.

She hit me again.

Shut your mouth!

Come with me.

Zhong Xueman,

can't you give me a few days of peace?

Is it really that hard for you

to behave yourself?

If it weren't for

your father's sake,

would I have tolerated you until now?

You were the one who begged me on your knees

to investigate the corpse-sewing case.

[To Chief Fang Tianzheng of the Elite Constabulary Unit]

And what happened?

The killer vanished, and we got nothing.

We just handed everything over

to the Secret Investigation Unit.

I even lost

Zhu Yitie in the process,

and he has been without any news so far.

Fine.

For the greater good,

I tolerated it.

Then you went behind my back

to communicate with the Secret Investigation Unit

and work with Zhuge Kongyun.

The situation was urgent,

so I tolerated that too.

And now?

The Huo Mansion case is solved.

You're not telling me anything.

Constable Zhong,

you clearly don't respect

the Elite Constabulary Unit at all.

You don't respect me

as your chief

at all.

The Huo Mansion case involves Yesha,

which falls under the jurisdiction of the Secret Investigation Unit.

According to the law,

I cannot disclose information to you.

If you want to know about the case,

you can ask the Secret Investigation Unit yourself.

Good.

Good answer.

It seems the Elite Constabulary Unit

isn't grand enough for you, Constable Zhong.

You can choose to leave.

I'm just doing my job.

And if someone should leave,

it shouldn't be me.

I should leave.

You can be the chief.

I wouldn't dare.

Since you mind,

I can stop cooperating with the Secret Investigation Unit.

So what do you

want me to do?

Patrol the streets, examine corpses,

or gamble on cricket fights?

Alright, I understand.

You feel that your martial skills

have nowhere to shine, right?

I'll assign you a task.

There's a case of sick horses in Weizhou.

Go there,

[To Chief Fang Tianzheng of the Elite Constabulary Unit]

investigate thoroughly

and don't come back until you do.

Do you think

you're overqualified for this job?

Would you rather be with the Secret Investigation Unit,

risking your life

and looking impressive?

Fine, take off that badge,

remove your official uniform,

and go be a spy for the Secret Investigation Unit.

I can go to Weizhou.

But it's a long journey.

I'll need assistance.

Constable Tong is from Weizhou.

He can help.

Coroner Feng knows how to treat horses.

I want both of them

to come with me.

You're good at picking people.

You chose the two that annoy me most.

Hurry up

and take those two to Weizhou.

Before you solve the case,

don't let me see the three of you

in the capital.

Yes, Chief.

[Tranquillity]

[Huo Mansion]

I was just passing by.

you sent away all your servants.
