Episode 7

[Soo Yun]

Hi, there. It's Soo Yun.

So you stopped by?

You brought so many things.

Because you have to eat well and get your spirits up.

Thank you. I'm the one who should be taking care of you.

By the way, Soo Yun.

Have you heard anything about Yoo Gun?

No, not yet.

Don't worry too much. I'll definitely find and bring him to you.

I'll be counting on you, Soo Yun.

Yes, definitely.

But you have to promise me not to skip your meals.

Okay.

Welcome.

This is fish cake made with Akita Komachi rice.

- Please try it. - Thank you.

Are you a newlywed couple?

No, we're not.

You look so good together.

Please try more.

A firecracker craftsman I know has his shop nearby.

Would you like to go and look?

Let's go.

Mister. Good evening.

Ah, Rie. Good evening.

Mister!

Oh, Rie! Long time no see.

How are you doing?

I'm very well.

This is? Is this your boyfriend?

No, he's not.

Really? But it looks like he is.

You two look really good together.

Let's make a wish.

Come on.

Drink this before you go to bed.

Thank you.

Then rest well.

What are the results?

Based on the EEG results, other than having nightmares...

nothing has changed from before.

Yes, I understand.

[The woman who changed her name and gave her last name to her son.]

Jung Ji Young.

No, Jung Soo Min was suspicious no matter how you looked at her.

The mother and the son had been quietly living in a place other than their hometown.

I became curious as to why a mother and son had to live in hiding with false identities.

Ui Jin Chul, a North Korean spy, hid himself in Ji Young's tailor shop.

He was killed in front of Ji Young by a Central Intelligence Service agent, Yoo Sang Joon.

Through that opportunity, Yoo Sang Joon and Ji Young became lovers.

But in 1979, Yoo Sang Joon gets killed for an unknown reason.

In the same year, October 27th...

there was an incident that killed all of the Central Intelligence Service agents

including Yoo Sang Joon's boss Kim Jung Young.

There was no evidence Baek San killed Yoo Sang Joon.

Jung Yoo Gun... He was recruited by the NSS.

Is it destiny?

[There was no evidence Baek San killed Yoo Sang Joon.]

What are they doing?

Byung Jin and Ji Yun are going to be working as field agents as well.

I guess they want to receive some training from Yoon Shi Hyuk.

Hey, don't you think you're underestimating us a little bit?

Tell me about it.

If you want to learn properly...

you guys need to know what your teacher's level is.

And I need to know how bad you guys are.

I bet it's all just talk.

- Don't take it easy on him. - Okay.

Anytime.

Wow, this is no joke.

You guys are here to learn. So to hell with jokes.

I give up.

Not as good as Team Leader Jung but you're pretty decent.

What the hell are you talking about? I'm way above him.

We'll see if he sings the same tune when Team Leader Jung returns.

[I love you, Soo Yun.]

Hyun Woo.

What's going on?

- Where are we going? - Just hush and follow me.

- Put your seat belt on. - Where are we going?

You'll see once you get there.

What's this?

What do you think it is? It's a mission to relieve all of Ji Soo Yun's stress.

- Hyun Woo... - We are off today anyway.

I can't see you acting pathetic like that anymore.

Let's go.

You're driving me crazy.

Really? Then here is yours.

You've never seen me eat before?

No, I feel like I haven't seen you happy in a long time.

So I'm not used to it.

You helped me feel better today.

Now that I think about it, it was our first time going to an amusement park together.

Yeah, you're right.

I've never been to an amusement park even with Yoo Gun.

- Ji Soo Yun. - Huh?

As in the old saying, 'if you can't get a pheasant, get a chicken instead.'...

I'll be the chicken.

What are you talking about?

If you ever feel like... you need someone next you or...

you get so lonely that you feel like you can't stand it any longer.

You can come to me anytime. I'll leave a seat beside me.

Hey, do you have any idea how many girls want that seat beside me?

You should be thankful instead of making that awkward face.

Thanks, Seo Hyun Woo... for thinking about me.

Hey, and...

you are not a chicken instead of a pheasant.

Do chickens as cool as you exist?

My, Ji Soo Yun sure knows how to judge a person.

Yeah, it's kind of a waste for me to be... a chicken, right?

Have some of this.

I was wondering when you were going to give me some.

Come here at once.

I'm right outside the situation room.

What's going on?

The assassins from the Hungary incident are caught in our filter.

What?

Can you confirm their identities? You've seen them in person.

Park Chul Young from the North Korean Security Command.

Then what about this one?

That's Yoo Joong Won who's on the Interpol's wanted list.

What about the woman?

In Hungary, she was was handed over to the North Korean agents.

The one who assassinated Kwon Young Chan.

Through Sakhalin's Korsakov port...

they've just arrived in the city Wakkanai in Hokkaido, Japan.

Min Jin, please start tracing them right away.

Okay.

It's definitely Park Chul Young, but what about the other two?

They're definitely the woman from Hungary and Yoo Joong Won from Cambodia.

Park Chul Young who was the head of security traveled aboard along with the assassins.

What do you think this means?

You'll definitely have to find out who's behind this.

If not, you're going to be suspected as the mastermind.

Team Leader Jung suspected Park Chul Young as the mastermind behind the assassination.

Team Leader Jung did?

The fact that the one who should be investigating the assassination

left the North with a fake passport along with the assassins...

tells us that he must be planning something.

As soon as we locate them, I'll leave for Japan right away.

But you know...

why is it Japan?

Ken. Can I talk to you for a minute?

What about?

Since Rey is not here yet...

how about a round between us?

Next time.

Turn it up a notch.

Strike back.

Stop!

We'll be in touch.

Hey.

Good to see the old Ken back.

Take a look at this.

When were these taken?

Are you interested now?

Tell me. When was it?

It was taken in Japan nine hours ago. We're tracing them now.

Team Leader Jung's prediction was correct.

I'm sure Park Chul Young was behind these two.

I've already reported that to the Deputy Director.

As soon as we locate them, I'm going there. What're you going to do?

Park Chul Young and the two assassination suspects have just arrived at the hotel.

I emailed the photos so send them to the NSS in Korea.

Yun Hwa.

Let's have a talk person to person.

What now? If you're going to talk about something useless, drop it now.

I always joke around so I'm saying this so you don't misunderstand.

I'm not the person you think I am.

For the past nine months...

did you even bother to think how painful it was for me to be alone with you?

I'm also a man.

I don't even want to think about it.

Disgusting.

Disgusting? What is?

I know the way you behave now is not the way you truly feel.

Anyway... if this thing goes well...

Find a place where no one knows. The two of us will go there and hide.

So what're you going to do with me there?

What do you mean? There are plenty of things a man and a woman can do together.

- I'm all set. - You always say that.

Ah seriously... I know that you have your heart set on that yellow head.

How do you know Rey?

Have you ever met him, huh?

Don't underestimate me.

And that yellow hair... Do you know that he dyed it?

Once his hair grows out, it's just like mine.

Besides, that hair is out of style now.

Fine, if you like that, I'll dye my hair yellow, too.

I'll dye it...

We're in room 807.

Hey, hey, Yun Hwa.

Answer me before you go. Should I dye my hair or not?

Yes.

Yes, I understand.

What did he say? Did he say he was coming to get you?

Tomorrow night at 9pm, I'm supposed to meet him at the power plant behind the wharf.

If you assume you can take them on easily, you'll definitely regret it.

Captain.

It's not too late. You can still go back tomorrow morning.

If I want to get something I want, I'd have to take some risks.

It's not just some risk.

And also I don't have much to gain from this.

Can't we just go?

Of course not. Of course we can't.

Even though you abandoned your country...

your country has given you another chance.

Are you going to throw away that chance?

Okay! I'm going. I'm going.

Fine, I'll go. You didn't have to be so dramatic mentioning my country and all that.

Try to get some sleep before tomorrow morning.

Rest well.

Hey, I'm not going to run away.

It's cold out there you bastard.

I'm Kimura from the Cabinet Intelligence and Investigation Office. Nice to meet you.

- I'm Ji Soo Yun from the NSS. - I'm Seo Hyun Woo.

I'm Yoo Shi Hyuk. How far are we from the hotel?

It's about 20 minutes away from here.

This is the car key and the hotel room key.

As you requested, I reserved a room on the same floor where they are staying.

Thank you.

And... I hope there won't be any big commotions.

Yes, we'll try our best.

Then I'll be waiting to hear from you.

You are...

I heard that you've gone missing. So you were here?

I can't believe you were also IRIS.

But...

why did you hand over Kim Yun Hwa in Hungary?

Have we met before?

You really don't remember me?

- You... - Stop.

You two having fun?

He's playing mind games with you.

Trying to confuse you.

What about Kim Yun Hwa?

What about her?

Kill him.

Jung Yoo Gun. Try to remember me.

- Jung Yoo Gun. - What are you waiting for?

Jung Yoo Gun!

Nice to meet you, Team Leader Jung Yoo Gun.

Anyone who messes with Yoo Gun...

Take the shot!

Rey... who is he?

Jung Yoo Gun.

He's nobody.

Your enemies will use all means to deceive you.

You need to wake up.

How about the rest?

They'll be up soon.

It's green.

Welcome.

Are the guests from room 807 in now?

Please wait a moment. I'll call the room and check.

There is no record of anyone going out including the guests staying in room 804.

Okay. Thank you.

Begin now.

This is room service.

Open it.

The South Korean agents are here.

Shi Hyuk, stay and check out things here.

Go that way.

You know where the rendezvous point is?

I'm not going to run away.

You can't get caught.

Worry about yourself.

Is it you again?

Yoo Joong Won. This time, let's go to South Korea together.

You didn't know that I got caught on purpose in Cambodia, did you?

Don't move.

Lower the window.

What's going on?

There is a child riding in the car.

I'm sorry. I was mistaken.

Rest up. We'll contact you soon.

Did you see him?

It's definitely the North Korean agent accompanying Park Chul Young.

There is one thing strange.

The two males left their luggage because they had to run away.

But Park Chul Young in the room 807 disappeared leaving his luggage behind.

According to our investigation team, there were traces of gas found in room 804.

But it was not found in room 807.

They used gas to knock them out.

Only the woman disappeared.

There is a possibility Park Chul Young left only taking the woman.

What is it?

Okay. I'll be right there.

I think they found something in the CCTV record.

- Please stop it right there. - Okay.

Do you have any CCTV footage taken from other angles?

No, we don't.

- It's the woman, right? - Yes.

But the man carrying her is not Park Chul Young.

This was taken around 4:30pm so...

that was about an hour before we arrived.

And this is also a little strange.

Please stop right there.

It's a gun.

You can't see it but the angle of the man's right arm tells you that he's holding a gun.

Can we see the elevator footage we saw before?

Okay.

- Is this Park Chul Young? - Yes.

The blindfolded man's body type and clothes matches with Park Chul Young.

Who is that...

behind Park Chul Young?

Thank you, Rey.

I missed you so much.

I'm glad you're safe.

It must have been tough.

I thought I'd never see you again.

Don't worry. I'll always be there for you.

Does it bother you?

You can tell it's Park Chul Young just looking from behind.

I know.

You've come back.

- Hi! - Good work.

You should just ask me to do these kind of things.

You don't know when Team Leader Jung will return so can you keep things clean here?

Yes.

Give it to me.

Go away.

I really don't have... anything more to tell you.

Your brother...

he's going to get caught pretty soon.

He really doesn't know anything.

He's probably just waiting for me to come and get him.

He's done nothing wrong.

Please I beg you.

Don't touch him.

Then cooperate.

If you do, your brother will be safe.

I'll promise you that.

I'm sorry about hurting you.

I had to do everything I could... to find the person I love.

You understand that, right?

Did you say your brother was a priest?

Do you think there will be a day that...

I'll be able to make a confession to him?

When I went to Japan, I visited the safety house IRIS was using.

We're still looking for traces of the suspect.

Since a lot of time has passed, finding his whereabouts is probably impossible.

I'd like to ask you for one more thing.

Can you find out whether anyone was staying alone on the 8th floor that night?

If not, can you check the 7th and the 9th floors as well?

Okay.

Let me know if you find anything.

Oh, it's become so much better.

In the past, we were stuck in the lab and couldn't step out like this at all.

Go ahead and pick one.

I'll have the panini.

You always get the same thing. Don't you get tired of it?

Once I like something, I only eat that.

But anyway... what was that about you asking him to just do it?

You didn't know? Hyun Woo likes Soo...

Young Min. Young Min.

What the heck?

So I'm the only one who doesn't know?

Oh, how come you didn't order delivery today and came here?

From time to time, I need to get some fresh air from the outside.

And I feel bad making you deliver all the time.

If it weren't for your special request, I wouldn't be making any deliveries.

It's a special service from me.

You guys order anything you want.

Everything is on me today.

I'd like a burger and a salad.

I'll take all the paninis you have.

I'll be fine with a bowl of soup.

Oh, hi.

Oh, Hyun Woo. Sit down here.

What are you going to have? What should I order for you?

I got myself a pastry and a cup of coffee already.

Oh, Hyun Woo.

Kind-hearted Hyun Woo.

Can I order a dish, too?

Hey, why don't we share?

Did you find the answer you were looking for?

The reason why Lieutenant Ha started investigating you and IRIS

is connected to the death of a former Central Intelligence Service agent Yoo Sang Joon.

To be precise, it's because you killed Yoo Sang Joon.

I believe the woman you cared about enough to give up on your dreams...

and the death of Yoo Sang Joon is somehow related.

That's an interesting deduction.

It's not a deduction.

The person on the left is you so...

the one on the right must be your superior Yoo Sang Joon.

Go back.

Who are Kim Jung Yong and Ui Sang Chul?

How are you connected to the death of Yoo Sang Joon?

You seem agitated.

Soon, I'd like to meet with Ui Sang Chul.

I could probably find out something from him.

Ui Sang Chul is still alive?

No, you should go back.

This is enough for today.

Starting today, your name will be Baek San.

You'll be living with a completely different identity.

What happened to the woman who was there?

She's dead...

along with the baby she was carrying.

- Check out these records. - Yes.

Examine the fire arms record.

Look at this here.

Look carefully.

Oh, here it is.

As we all knew, he was the former team leader of Room 35.

The father is Yoo Yong Chun. He was a Major-General in the North Korean army.

The record indicates he died due to an illness in 2004.

If he was a Major-General he must have been a powerful figure.

Actually, a North Korean Major-General is equivalent to a South Korean one-star general.

Currently, there are over 1,300 of them so...

you can't really say he was a powerful figure.

- He had a brother? - Yes.

He was killed at the first Yeonpyeong conflict in 1999.

In 1999, he lost his brother. In 2004, his father died.

Does that give him enough of a reason to escape the North to join IRIS?

I got a call from Japan.

You asked them to check if anyone stayed alone on the 8th floor that day.

- Was there one? - They checked the hotel guest list.

They found that a man named Ken checked in alone that night.

He stayed in room 809 across from 807 where Park Chul Young stayed.

What about his personal or contact information?

I guess...

since it's a small hotel in the country side they didn't bother to get a lot of information.

Why? You think you are on to something?

No, it's nothing.

Go see the Deputy Director. She wants to see you.

If you get any additional information, let me know.

Okay.

I heard you got some more information from Lee Soo Jin?

I was going to inform you once I gathered more details.

There is a safety house that IRIS used to use.

Since I don't have the address, it's taking some time to locate it.

Then there are two things we know now.

IRIS's safety house...

and the man who checked in alone at the hotel.

I'm not patient enough to wait for reports from each agent.

So what are you going to do now?

I'm thinking about going back to Japan.

I think I'll be able to find both there.

Yeah.

Who is Kim Yun Hwa?

I asked you... who is she?

I told you. She's a part of our team.

What happened between me and her?

You're still thinking about that?

Stay focused.

We have a new mission.

We're going to Korea.

Korea?

Korea?

Do you really need to do this?

I'm asking you as a favor.

Soo Yun, I understand what you are feeling but...

Because he's wearing a thick jacket, it can impact the accuracy of your analysis.

Isn't that right?

Yes, that's true but...

There was someone who asked me for this kind of analysis a while back.

Whatever the process was...

the end wasn't very good.

Now that this much time has passed...

you should think about moving on.

It's not time... yet.

You're going on another business trip?

It's not like you're going to Busan or something.

I'll be there in 2 hours and 30 minutes.

It's much faster than driving to Busan.

Can you take me this time?

I'm feeling so claustrophobic, stuck in the situation room.

I know. We were stuck inside when we went to Hungary, too.

Hey, I haven't been anywhere near Hungary at all.

I'll be back.

Is it because of the man in the CCTV?

How much have you found out about the safety house that Lee Soo Jin mentioned?

Before I go to the hotel, I want to check that out first.

The error margin is still pretty big.

Send it to me as soon as you get a lead.

With all those people gathered, what is IRIS ultimately trying to do?

You may think I'm joking around...

but I'll ask you as you've asked me. So try answering my question now.

In the beginning, God created the heaven, the earth, the light...

and created man.

Why was that?

Ultimately trying to do what?

You mean you know the answer to that question?

The Almighty One's final game is the control game.

Wrongly built blocks have to be completely destroyed before a new set can be built.

The reset button has been pushed already.

Captain.

What the heck?

I'm okay.

What about Yun Hwa?

She disappeared.

What?

Your gunshot wound... who did this to you?

IRIS.

Jung Yoo Gun. He was with them.

Jung Yoo Gun?

He's the NSS agent who caught Yun Hwa in Hungary.

It was strange that he didn't remember me but...

there was no doubt he was with IRIS.

You must be a part of the North Korean military.

You're lucky that it wasn't any worse.

Then what are you going to do from now on?

First, I need to find a way to get in touch with the North.

And after that...

After that, we need to find Yun Hwa.

Let's go.

Captain.

How come you...

Thank you for everything.

Subtitles by DramaFever

This time, how long will you be gone?

I think I'll know once I get there.

First, find the small parking lot Lee Soo Jin was talking about.

The buildings on the right are the possible suspects.

Cars are coming out from the left side.

I'm going in now.

There were people in here.

This is Yoo Joong Won.

I've accomplished my mission.

I'm going to return now.

We repeatedly discovered the name Ken, at the hotel where Park Chul Young disappeared

as well as IRIS's safety house.

If Park Chul Young disappeared and Ken is IRIS...

Try to remember me.

Jung Yoo Gun!

Park Chul Young is probably dead.

I thought Ken might be Team Leader Jung.

Who is Jung Yoo Gun?

We heard the answer from the North.

They want to resume our talk.

I think all of you are well aware what this talk means.

We can't repeat the incident from Hungary ever again.

Don't you think this plan is too dangerous?

I can make it happen.

Give me an appropriate ranking and the commanding position in the unit.

I'm looking for a man named Ken.

I've never seen him before.
