At Tribal Council tonight,

Q and I-- we had a good plan
in place for Angelina.

We're thinking
we've got Emily and Christian.

And we get to Tribal Council,

and Q goes home.

My heart, like, sank.

He really was in my corner.

So now what happens next--

are they gonna
actually blindside me?

Because at this point,

I cannot trust anybody
in this game.

OZZY:
Just seem--
It seemed like the best

opportunity to take
one of the biggest threats

out of this game.

EMILY:
I'm feeling great.

Tribal Council
went exactly as planned.

I convinced Ozzy to vote out Q.

And while getting rid of one
of our strongest players

may not work out well

for us when it comes
to challenges,

the strength and loyalty
of the people

that I'm working with
is probably more important.

That was definitely
the right move.

Uh, look,
I'm-I'm resigned to the fact

- that we could be going
right back to Tribal.
- Yeah.

I'm just a little afraid
of Angelina, Mike White.

- And if we lose Angelina, like,
- EMILY: Yeah.

At this point, I trust Ozzy,

but I'm still a little

wary of the fact
that Christian does

have this relationship
with Mike and Angelina.

So, I agree with Ozzy.

I really thought
I might be going home.

It's an understandable feeling.

I actually brought
my Shot in the Dark

with me up there, and I was
like, "No. You know what,

I trust this group."

Honestly, I was at the edge
of my seat tonight

because Stephenie voted for me.

Luckily,

everyone stuck to the plan,

which, especially in season 50,

is not an easy thing to do.

But it all worked out.

So now I'm gonna play it cool.

I want Stephenie

to feel comfortable,
because if she's the next

to go-- and I think she is--

we don't want her
to see it coming,

and we don't want her
to play her Shot in the Dark.

I want to make sure
that we're working together.

For today's challenge, you're
gonna leap into the ocean

and swim to a narrow deck
that's elevated above the water.

You'll then work together
to get two tribe members up

to release two hanging buckets.
Get back in the water.

You'll then remove sandbags

from your submerged boat

until you can get it
to the surface,

where you will use the buckets

to bail out the excess water.

You'll then load
your letter cubes in your boat,

push it to the finish,
where you will

use those letter cubes
to build a massive

arch puzzle.

First two tribes to finish
win immunity,

safe from the vote,
can't be voted out.

Losers, Tribal Council,

where somebody will be
the fifth person voted out

of Survivor 50,

and as a penalty for losing,
I will keep your flint.

Vatu, you're working
to earn yours back.

and getting to come up with

what I would want
for a reward, you know?

want to have if I was out here.

that's where it's at. Like,

there's nothing else
that I could ask for.

First time I went spearfishing
was about 17 years ago.

We were in the Bahamas,
and I just

absolutely fell
in love with it.

Being able
to interact with nature

and being able to be immersed
in it and being pushed

in places where people
don't normally go--

it recharges my batteries.

Every time that I dive, I see
something I haven't seen before.

It's literally another universe.

Being underneath the water

makes me feel small
in the most incredible way.

I find a lot of peace
under the water,

but there's definitely
different challenges.

Sometimes the visibility
is not as good.

And then sometimes,
you're in a lot of current.

So, you're always reading

what's happening around you.

I imagine that's the same
in Survivor.

You got to adapt
to whatever's happening.

And you learn
how to be around sharks.

There's sharks every day
that you're spearfishing.

And you're battling them
for the fish.

When you're close enough
to get a shot,

and it hits the fish,

it's an amazing feeling,
but that's half the battle.

Then you got to get the fish in
your hands as fast as you can,

'cause the sharks-- they're
gonna come after your fish.

But once you pull the fish
into your body,

the shark kind of stops
pursuing it. Catching such

a big, gnarly fish--
that's... that was satisfying.

But I didn't want to just bring
them a bunch of little fish.

I wanted
to have something impressive.

So, I can't wait
to bring some amazing food,

and they're gonna eat good.
We're gonna cook it up

and feed 'em well, charge 'em up
for the rest of their time here.

We are all extremely fortunate

I came into this experience
a fan of Survivor.

You know, I remember a bit
of what Ozzy did on TV.

But in real life,

Ozzy is the most humble,

down-to-earth, kind dude.

- Yeah, I'm not trying to...

Sorry. I'm not trying to, like,
you know, kiss your ass

or something, but it's genuine.

And as much
as we're all trying to, like,

factor in
existing relationships,

I think
the new relationships forming

have been some of the most
interesting and powerful

that I've experienced
in Survivor.

And I've loved getting
to know everybody here.

PROBST:
And yet, you're all about

to write down a name

and completely blindside
one of the six of you.

So, Ozzy,
one way to look at this

is it's a crisis point.

If you vote out
the wrong person,

- this tribe may not recover.
- OZZY: Well, Jeff,

the fact of the matter is
this also presents

an opportunity
to build trust.

Look, I'm willing to put it
all out there for these guys,

these guys
that I've played with.

They can trust me,

and they know that in situations
where we need something,

I'm gonna go out and do
the best job I possibly can.

PROBST:
Christian, Ozzy's looking
at the other side,

which is, if you survive,
the bond gets stronger,

and that purpose
can lead to more cohesion.

Uh, certainly, but there's a big
"if" at the beginning of that.

If you survive.

And part of that is trust,
trusting

that not only
the group is cohesive,

but that whatever vote
comes next

is also not gonna come your way.

PROBST:
Steph, how do you balance

your individual gut

versus trying to assess
what the group gut is

to make sure
that they are aligned,

and it's not you tonight?

STEPHENIE:
It's hard. I mean,

I'm trying to trust my gut.

But in a game where you're
getting so much information

from so many different people,
it's really hard.

There is no, "100% your gut
is right. Go with that."

Angelina, how do you balance it?

I always let my instincts

be the last word.

And it's the observations.
It's the head, it's the heart.

It's all baked in, saying,
"This is what I feel is right.

This is what I'm drawn to.
This is the right next step."

That's all I've got out here.

Mike, obviously,
it has to serve you.

It has to serve everybody
when they make a vote.

- Yeah.
- But it also
has to serve the group,

to some degree.

MIKE:
Well, the thing
that's difficult is,

I have
preexisting relationships

with some of these people.

I am bonding

with some people
more than others. It's--

You know, it's, like,
the dynamics of the group.

And then there's also,
yeah, your individual,

you know, affinities.

And so, when it comes to voting,
it's like, yeah,

there's some people you'd rather
lose with than win with.

- You know what I mean?
- PROBST: And yet, Mike,

it's part of the fun,
because you're given permission

to do your best lying,

to try to test
your powers of persuasion.

"If I can get somebody off
of their idea and onto my idea."

MIKE:
Yeah, maybe there's
something about

my, uh, profession, which is
basically, selling people

on a... like, a random dream

that's totally unnecessary,

and, like, you know, asking them

to put a lot of money
and resources into it.

And until you actually
turn in what you've done,

you feel like
you're kind of a con artist.

You know what I mean?

That skill is something that
I've honed over the years,

and it is something
that, like, yeah,

you wonder if it can
be put to work out here,

and it's a muscle that

I guess it-it has a...

There's a natural aspect to it,
you know?

PROBST:
Christian,
the interesting thing about

what Mike just said is,
he said, "In my job,

"I have to create things,
and I have to sell people.

"I have to almost con them
into believing me

"until I'm able
to deliver the finished product

and show that it was worth it."

Yeah, I'm not sure the WGA is...

I wouldn't put it
on my business card, but okay.

PROBST:
But what I'm getting at is

that's a skill every single
person needs in this game.

What makes it unique
with Mike is that

Well, I'll be honest. I've never
heard Mike describe it

in that way, that
that's part of his job.

But, like, I-I can see it.

I think that in every one
of our professions,

there is some kernel
we take with us

that is useful
here on the island.

PROBST:
So then, how about for you?

From the standpoint of,

in your career, things are very
black and white, I'm guessing,

that you look at things,
"If I do this,

this will happen,"
versus out here,

- it's much more vague.
- CHRISTIAN: Yeah, I mean,

a lot of my perspective has
changed after playing Survivor,

even in my own profession,
for sure.

I mean, uh, it gave me

a lot of ideas
for my research, for one,

but more broadly,
it opened my eyes to...

...when you're working
in a world where

all the information you have
might not be true,

how do you investigate
what's true and what's not?

That's just how it works
in all kinds of professions.

So, yeah, it does
recontextualise things.

I mean, I think
it makes me more aware,

and I think
that's a good thing.

PROBST:
Emily, how often

during an afternoon

where you're trying
to figure out who to vote out,

do you change your mind
or consider changing your mind?

EMILY:
I think you have to
come into conversations

with an open mind, which means

being open
to changing your mind.

And I would say,
it happens half a dozen times.

Sometimes it goes A to B
and then B back to A

and then to D and then to C.

And I will say, sitting here

in Tribal Council
at this exact moment,

I am having a sinking feeling.

- Really?
- EMILY: You know,
I think you pick up

on vibes, right?

And...

you go about this game
thinking one thing,

and then all it takes
is one or two conversations,

and you find yourself,

"Huh. Did I consider it
from that angle?"

And wondering
if there were things

that I didn't think about
that would result

in my torch
being snuffed tonight.
