players I could find.

From the most ordinary

and anonymous of citizens

to the brashest of faces

you may already know,

I have assembled a group

worthy of the world's favorite

murder mystery game.

They will all arrive faithful.

(clock chiming)

But that won't last long.

Here at my manor in

la belle province,

we will arm our guests

with missions where they

could collect a prize pot

of up to $100,000.

- Yeah.

(cheering)

- Oh, my gosh.

(Karine): If they survive

my game, they win the money.

If they don't...

Boom!

...they will go home

betrayed and penniless.

I will select the traitors

from their ranks, but it will be

up to the remaining faithful to

weed them out in order to win

the prize pot for themselves.

But every night, the traitors

will assemble in darkness and

murder their fellow players.

(choir singing)

(percussive sound effects)

During the day,

it will be even worse.

They will lie.

They will connive.

They will sow chaos

wherever they can

to throw the faithful

off their scent.

- I'm not a sheep. I'm

not following what people

are telling me.

(Karine): They will pit

friends against each other.

- I don't know

where to go with you.

- You are such a liar!

- Vote me out tomorrow.

(Karine): They will use

weaknesses and exploit fears.

- It's a bit of a bullshit

question.

- Believe what you want

to believe.

- You don't have anybody

that you trust.

- If I was a traitor, I would be

laughing at this chaos.

(Karine): Because if even

one traitor is left at the end,

it is they who will take home

the prize pot.

- Shut up!

is something I've

always wanted to do.

I found out early on that when

you lie, you get in trouble.

So I wanted to go to

a place where when you lie, you

get rewarded.

I'm extremely competitive.

and you might have seen me

on Amazing Race Canada's

season eighth.

And now I'm here.

- Here we are!

- Oh my God.

- Just saw a ghost

in the top window.

- Who wouldn't want to come

to the manor and try their hand

at potentially being a traitor?

I know I can just dig in deep

Because studying in a joint

honors in computer science

and mathematics, I've developed

some analytical skills

that I think could help me.

Welcome to the Traitors Canada.

You're here to play a game

of deceit and treachery.

And you are here

to win a lot of money.

You may have noticed something

different from last year.

You are 22, not 20.

The real question is, how many

traitors should I choose?

Stick with three?

Maybe lower it to two?

Gluttony dictates four.

(chuckles)

The answer is in this envelope.

I've always had more of

a penchant for questions.

Alors...

The 22 of you will face

ten missions, and each mission

will be worth up to $10,000.

With a potential total

of $100,000.

But this evening, I'm feeling

impatient and I would like to

get things started right away.

I am willing to add $10,000

to the prize pot,

before the first mission

is even set, if...

some of you volunteer yourselves

to be put on death row...

...tonight.

Death row, for those of you

who don't know,

is the list of players

the traitors will choose from

for their first murder,

which will occur tomorrow.

- Death row, night one.

And we're already kicking it

off for the bloodbath.

- Let's find the five

bravest among you.

- It makes absolutely

no sense to volunteer

for this in my mind.

The five made of the

sturdiest metal.

- I'm not putting myself out

there on the chopping block

for no reason. For ten grand.

- I am willing to add $10,000

to the prize pot.

If some of you volunteer

yourselves to be put

on death row... tonight.

- What's the point of winning

10,000 for the group if

you're no longer in the game?

- I wanted to establish to

everybody that I'm a leader.

This is what I do.

is such a surreal feeling.

It's so beautiful.

a little creepy.

So happy to be here and live

my childhood books that I read.

- As a traitor, I would always

pick, like, someone that

you would never think.

kindergarten teacher, for sure!

- I am a kindergarten teacher,

and that is where my heart is.

That is my happy place.

I teach five-year-olds. Yes,

I know liars when I see them.

- How are you feeling, being

That would be so interesting

a big alliance of traitors.

I am the master manipulator.

I'm going to pretend to be

will do their most

important hunting.

and treachery feels

almost inevitable.

Either way, I'm here to win.

- I wonder if you're going

the entire room, looking

for any cue that I can find.

like a faithful.

touching his face.

look like they are very anxious

all of a sudden.

- Cedric's energy is

totally different.

I just want to say, as someone

on the death row and for other

people on the death row with me,

I believe the four of you

would probably be really strong

faithfuls or traitors.

And I just hope that you guys

really think about who the

traitors are going to murder

and how it's gonna affect

the game.

trying to be just defensive

because he just got tapped

on his shoulder.

- Remember, we got to make a lot

of money for the pot at the end.

skills might hurt you.

- We have to go into the woods

and find these cannonballs

that are hidden in places.

Some have a puzzle

attached to them.

surprise me was Melinda.

Melinda was running around,

but at the end of the day,

Melinda was absolutely

impressive to me.

- What are your teams?

I'm a runner.

- I found a riddle.

We got to make a pyramid.

- Okay.

Put the three laying

down for one second.

Yeah.

- The puzzle was a pyramid,

and it was literally trying to

make a pyramid in a triangle.

- I was surprised

at how powerful,

loud and terrifying it was.

- So much fun. Like we got

bonding exercise, I think,

- So the first mission

was, like, amazing.

I mean, $10,000.

We ended up getting it.

I was so happy.

or passing out. Good job.

I was happy at what we achieved.

You know, we did it as

a unit. You know, it was

like a bonding moment.

- It was incredibly chaotic.

However, I feel as though

during today's mission,

I was able to show

that I have the physical

capabilities to help our team

gather as much gold as possible.

- Lori, she's a sweetheart,

but in my mind, I'm like, is she

really a kindergarten teacher?

And I don't want

to think like that.

And I hate to say that,

but you never know.

You can't trust anybody.

- You know what? I

have nothing against her.

But she would be

a perfect candidate.

I heard there was a whole, like,

comedy routine going on

on the way there.

- Yeah. Cedric

doesn't stop talking.

I mean, I'm hearing a lot more

people bringing his name up.

because I heard that

he threw my name in there.

It's just hard to hear from

somebody that you connected

and bonded with, like Cedric.

So I do definitely feel

betrayed.

It's either he has no loyalty

or he is a traitor.

- Lauren, how do you feel being

on death row? Are you nervous?

- I'm very nervous. And I did

have a lot of fun today.

- Yeah.

- So last night, I was, like,

really upset and anxious,

without, like, getting

any experience.

So I had fun today,

which was good.

I feel like I built real

relationships,

and it will suck so bad

to go home first.

And it will suck even more

that I feel I did it to myself.

So I really hope I... I really

hope I stay, but I'm kind of

preprocessing the fact that...

I don't think the odds

look good for me.

that I really do not want

conclave, my heart is beating

out of my chest.

I'm just excited to see who my

fellow traitors are going to be.

(stifled laughter)

that Neda is going to be

my fellow traitor.

I loved her on her season of

Big Brother and I think we can

do some really traitorous stuff.

The first person I really

so obvious to me personally,

and I was a little bit vocal

about it today.

That means that I've

created a little bit

of trouble for him, too.

Realistically, we don't need

to keep him around.

Lauren and Dillon.

- What are we thinking?

- We discussed the five who are

on death row in great lengths.

- Who are two that

we can say maybe we're not

going to get rid of?

- The fact of the matter,

we need someone strong in

the missions because we don't

know what's coming up.

You're looking at Enoch. I mean,

he's a former football player.

We need him.

- I personally think Lauren,

off the table for me at least.

- I think that she has enough

traitor tendencies that people

can keep their eye out on her.

I wanted to keep

Lauren and Enoch safe.

The two people that I

actually trust; anybody else

was up for grabs.

I think those are really

good choices to not be

looking at for now.

I want them to really think

I am loyal to them and that

they can manipulate me.

And hopefully they're not going

to throw me under the bus

too soon because that's

my biggest fear.
