MEMORIAL TABLET OF XU BAOSHAN

She's not human.

-She's a monster! -Stay away from them.

I knew there was something wrong with her.

Tell them to leave this place at once.

All these years, did that girl ever change?

-She's not human. -She hasn't changed at all.

She hasn't grown even after all these years.

Leave our village now!

And her skills are abnormally good.

She's acting like nothing has happened.

How scary!

The bandits will surely return for revenge.

We mustn't let her stay in the village.

For the sake of our safety.

Hurry up, chase them away.

The bandits will return for revenge.

Leave our village!

Wu.

You can hide here for the time being.

Once Doggy and I find your family, we'll come for you.

Aren't we family, Ms. Zhao?

Wu.

I'm sorry.

Are you talking about my previous family?

But they abandoned me, didn't they?

They abandoned me at a cave for no reason.

Wu.

Did you know?

When we found you,

you were dressed well.

You looked like a daughter from a wealthy family.

Your name as well.

Feng Baobao.

If your family doesn't love you,

they wouldn't name you Baobao,

which means treasure.

Feng Baobao.

That's right.

You must remember your name.

Besides,

I have no idea

about your past.

However, from now on,

do not kill anyone.

I'm not killing anyone.

Why would I kill anyone?

That day,

you saved us.

However, you killed people.

We...

Are you talking about that?

Yes, I killed them.

But you were the one

who caused their death.

Doggy.

Let's go.

Wu.

I'll leave this grasshopper with you to keep you company.

We're leaving.

Wait for us here.

Mom.

Where are we going?

We're going back home.

Never mind her.

-Wu! -Don't you dare!

If you go to her, I'm not your mom anymore.

Mom. Are you still blaming Wu

for not saving Dad?

She's so cold-blooded.

As cold-blooded as a monster.

She doesn't even care about her origin.

Why would she care about your dad?

I'm scared

just looking at her now.

I'm sorry about her, but it has to be this way.

Come on.

Three, two, one.

Wu.

You'll get to see our family portrait

in a few days.

Family portrait?

What's a family portrait?

It's a photo of all of us together.

Ms. Zhao.

I want to see you smile.

I want to hear you sing.

Does this mean I like all of you?

Ms. Zhao, I like you.

I like Mr. Xu.

I like Doggy.

If Mom realized

she ended up abandoning Wu in the mountains

for decades,

what would she think?

For decades.

I keep coming back to the village again and again.

However, I had never seen Wu again.

Wu.

Wu.

I'll leave this grasshopper with you to keep you company.

Doggy.

From your words,

it has been over forty years.

The person you're looking for

must be old now.

She may even be dead now.

You can't be sure.

Wu won't die.

She's still around for certain.

I, Xu Xiang,

swear that as long as I'm alive,

I will find her.

Decades later,

I was considered rather famous

in the Outsiders' world.

How are you doing lately?

How's Xu Si doing?

I really like that brat.

Forget it, let's not talk about him.

He's so annoying even if he's just not even ten.

When he gets older,

I'm sure he'll be a nuisance.

Seriously? You're the worst though.

Did you forget

you used to detest marriage?

You never listened to anyone.

We thought

you'd surely stay alone for the rest of your life.

Who knows?

You got married and have a family now.

You even have two kids.

You're not here to talk about this, aren't you?

Cut to the chase.

What else could I talk about?

I'm here for the same request, again.

Our company has decided to convert into an express delivery company.

We would like to invite you

to help us out.

Does this job include outstation trips

across the country?

Well, you might even grow sick of going outstation.

For the next few years,

as the field staff of NDT Express,

I traveled to numerous states across the country.

Each time I completed my task,

I'd go to the alleys and streets

to ask the locals about Wu's whereabouts.

Have you seen her?

No.

I looked for Wu for another three years,

but to no avail.

In the blink of an eye,

it was spring in the Year of Guiyou.

I was on a business trip to Southeast Asia.

I have a local friend there, Rong.

He's a renowned bully in the town.

Visit us again.

Let's not talk about other places.

Because I'm in charge here.

This is mine.

I'll make you a home here, okay?

No.

I have only one wife now,

yet handling her is already overwhelming.

Why not?

Real men mustn't say no.

You must be capable.

No.

What are you doing?

I'm paying.

What are you paying for?

I'm in charge here.

Excuse me.

What would you like to order?

Two servings of steamed pork bun.

Steamed pork buns?

Okay.

Hey. Stop!

The buns are here.

Are these for us?

No. When in society,

you must be loyal.

Baobao shall eat it first.

Baobao shall eat it first.

When Baobao is full,

then we'll eat.

-Baobao. -Baobao.

-Are you making a fool out of us? -Are you making a fool out of us?

I'm sorry.

I'm too hungry.

There's a lot of food there. I'll get you more food.

Hold on.

She's not just stealing the food, she's stealing it in broad daylight!

Miss, two more servings, please.

I have no idea what she looks like.

She brought away over a dozen servings of buns.

How do I put it into words?

Boss.

Find someone to send me to the airport.

It's her!

Why are you taking my buns again?

Did I wrong you? Catch her, sir!

It's her. Catch her.

It's just buns. She's not a thief.

XIN XING APOTHECARY

Young lady.

Why are you wandering the streets alone at night?

Are you lost?

Where is your family?

Family?

I'm looking for my family.

Do you know me?

Follow me.

I'll bring you to them.

Is that all right?

Come on.

Miss.

Do you know where my family is?

Of course.

I'll bring you to them tomorrow, okay?

Alright.

Be good. You can sleep here tonight.

Mr. Liu.

How is it? You said you got a high-quality one.

That's her.

-Is she the one who is mentally ill? -Yes.

Well, where is my family?

She looks fine.

It's okay if she's dumb.

As long as her body is fine.

When she falls into the hands of those bosses,

she'd turn mad anyway.

Where is my family?

No one knows you here.

And no one is your family.

Do you get it?

Not here.

They're not here.

Young lady.

We can't find your family,

but we can find you a new family.

If you can't find my family, I won't go with you.

You can't just leave as you please.

Go after her!

She's a good one.

Girl.

They're dumb.

They're clueless.

I'm different.

I know about everything.

Do you?

Yes.

Just give me your hand

and take the injection.

Then, you'll know too.

Is that true?

Yes.

It's absolutely true.

What is this?

I still don't know about anything.

She has the entire jab.

Even an elephant would be anesthetized now.

Where is my family?

Enough. Get the others.

Are you kidding me?

Hurry up.

Didn't you say that you know where my family is?

Tell me now.

Who is she?

Tell me.

Wu.

You can hide here for the time being.

Once Doggy and I find your family, we'll come for you.

Aren't we family, Ms. Zhao?

I'm sorry.

We're leaving.

Wait for us here.

Hit her!

Mr. Liu.

Let's just let her go, okay?

Let her go?

Are you out of your mind?

Before this, have we had any good products like her?

Now that we've got our hands on such a high-quality one,

we can make a lot of money by selling her.

That's enough.

Tell me.

Who am I?

Mr. Rong helped me to find traces of Wu in no time.

She was kidnapped by the human traffickers.

Does the girl look like this?

Have a closer look.

Yes. It's her.

Where is she?

Where is she now?

We pretended to be buyers.

In a basement,

I saw Wu.

Mr. Hu.

She's clean.

She's still untouched.

Is this considered clean?

Can you call her untouched?

Calm down, Mr. Hu.

It's just minor injuries.

She's definitely clean.

Wu.

It's a deal, Mr. Xu.

Two hundred thousand dollars.

Tonight at 10 o'clock.

They'd need to check your background.

Don't worry.

Mr. Rong has settled everything for you.

Just wait till tomorrow.

You'll be sent away tomorrow.

Thank you.

What?

Thank you?

Are you all right?

Do you think that when you're there, you can live a good life?

How naive of you.

You didn't lie to me.

You found someone who knows me.

Thank you.

You're so naive.

I'm selling you away.

Why are you grateful to me?

You're crazy.

What a psycho.

Mr. Rong.

She's here.

Wu.

Doggy.

Wu.

Wu.

It has been so many years.

Yet you still recognize me.

Wu.

I recognized you when I saw you previously.

Your smell hasn't changed at all.

Doggy.

They said

that they'd bring me to my family.

I passed the evidence of Mr. Hu's and his syndicate's crimes

to the local police

as compensation for Wu.

Since then,

Wu joined the company

as a casual employee.

With the position,

Wu could

change her identity freely.

Chulan.

This is the story of the three generations

of the Xu family and Wu.

What does this have to do with Feng Baobao

killing my grandpa?

You never told me and my brother

about this.

I kept this from you

for your

and Wu's own good.

After Wu

joined the company,

I continued my investigation into her origin.

I discovered

that Wu's background is related

to the Jiashen Calamity.

The majority of those who were involved

in the calamity have died.

There are only a few survivors left.

Your grandpa was one of them.

However, he hid himself.

He escaped the investigation.

Nonetheless,

twelve years ago,

I detected an unusual behavior from him.

I was informed

that some well-known seniors

of the clans

gathered in secret

at Mount Siguniang

without anyone knowing.

The leader of First Qi Clan.

LEADER OF COSMOS CLAN

Based on their paths,

it seemed like they were going after something.

The other one is the leader of Cosmos Clan.

There are people ahead too.

It has been years

since such an outrageous incident happened in the Outsiders' world.

There were a dozen corpses along the way.

They're all the veterans

of the Outsiders' world.

I couldn't imagine it then.

Who or which clan

would be powerful enough to kill them?

Who are they?

The one on the left

is the leader of Sanchuan Tang Clan,

Yang Lie.

Who is the other one?

I didn't know then.

But I heard

what Yang Lie told that person clearly.

If

I couldn't acquire

Qi Apotheosis,

I'll let it

vanish together

with you,

old man.

That was my grandpa, wasn't it?

That sounds great too.

Regardless of whether it's you

or me,

the remainders of the Jiashen Calamity

should all go to hell!

Leaving a better world

for our

future generation.

Well,

you leaked your whereabouts intentionally, didn't you?

Come out.

Stop hiding.

So many people died.

You killed all of them.

You're a terrific master,

yet you're not in the company's records.

Who are you?

Are you from

NDT Express?

Xu Xiang.

NDT Express's General Manager of Lubei Region.

The young girl behind the tree.

Come on out too.

Feng Baobao?

Do you know me, old man?

It's really you.

It has been decades.

You still look the same.

Do you know me?

Do you know my family, then?

Who is my family?

It must be destiny.

I...

At this very moment,

at this place,

I'm seeing you, Baobao.

Please, old man.

Tell me.

I'm sorry, Baobao.

I'm aware of the truth.

However,

I don't want to tell you now.

I'm dying.

I want

to be selfish for once too.

I can't tell you the truth.

However, I can tell you

the way to get closer to the truth.

The way to get closer to the truth?

Sir.

We'll get you treated.

You can let us know after that.

The adverse effect of Tang Clan's elixir

is fatal.

Treatment

is pointless

for my injury

I want to go home.

Can you send me back?

I miss my grandson.

Old man.

Why do you insist on going back when it's so far away?

I...

I promised my grandson

that I'll go home.

Grandpa.

When will you return?

Once you've finished all three pork knuckles,

I'll be back.

Go home.

Old man.

We're here.

Feng Baobao.

I would like

to ask you for a favor.

When I'm gone,

please protect Chulan on my behalf.

If possible,

don't let him know about your presence.

Why?

I don't want him

to think that he's special.

And I don't want him

to get involved

in the chaos of the Outsiders' world.

Is that all right?

I can do you this favor.

However,

can I find my family if I do so?

Just stay by Chulan's side,

then you'll find out the truth.

Old man. Pardon me for asking,

but why should we trust you?

I'm the culprit

of the Jiashen Calamity.

Is this

enough?

You can choose to trust me

or choose to continue your aimless search.

The choice

is yours.

Why would you believe

that we'll do as you say?

I don't believe you.

But I believe in Feng Baobao.

Feng Baobao.

Do you believe me?

I believe you.

Thank you.

Feng Baobao.

I can't do this any longer.

I'm holding on with my innate qi.

Please end my life.

If I do as you say,

when can I find the answers about my past?

That depends on your luck.

Besides,

Feng Baobao,

does time carry any meaning to you?

Okay.

I promise.

Thank you.

Feng Baobao.

When Chulan

steps into the Outsiders' world,

when he needs

power,

please pass this to him.

I have absolute faith in you,

Baobao.

Wu.

It's all right. He's just giving me something.

Do it, Baobao.

To be able to die in your hands,

I consider it a good end.

Hurry up.

Think of it as I'm just clearing out

the paths

for Chulan and the offspring of the Jiashen Calamity.

I'm

contented!

Hurry up.

Do you

want me

to kneel and beg you to do this?

In the Year of Jiashen,

if only I hadn't boarded the train,

things would have turned out differently, then.

The Year of Jiashen?

What train?

Well...

I'll entrust Chulan with you.

Grandpa.

You're back, Grandpa.

What's wrong?

Grandpa.

Grandpa!

Grandpa!

Grandpa!

Please wake up!

Let's go home, Grandpa!

Grandpa!

Let's go home, Grandpa!

He's only ten.

Don't tell me

you're going to look after him

and wait until the end of time?

His grandfather is right.

I have plenty of time.

I can afford to wait.

From that day onward,

Baobao has been staying by your side,

protecting you in secret.

Don't move or I'll hit you.

She waited

for over a decade.

Chulan.

Do you understand now?

That's the story

of your grandpa and Wu.

The story sounds bizarre.

How could I believe in that?

You don't have to believe it now.

Stay at the company for the time being,

stay by Wu's side and observe.

Mr. Zhang is right.

Since our encounter,

I can feel

that something that has been stagnant for years

has started to move again.

Chulan.

You asked me

about the benefits

of joining the Outsider Martial Arts Contest.

Listen now.

Me

and NDT Express,

we're not gaining anything from it.

However, this could help Wu

to find her past.

Chulan.

I'll entrust Wu

to you now.

Wu.

Wu.

Wu.

Doggy!

Did you forget?

I taught you when you were little.

Adjust your qi.

Let it sink to your lower abdomen.

Just like this.

Wu.

The Huangyang shoulder pole Is soft and flexible

No!

Doggy,

I left one last slice of meat for you.

Thank you, Wu.

Wu.

I'll leave this grasshopper with you to keep you company.

Dad, Mom.

If we can't find her family,

Can we make her part of our family?

Ms. Bao.

What did you see?

Doggy

is gone.

When Dad was alive,

he had been to many places.

However, he said

that Mount Longhu was his favorite of all.

He said

that he could forget about the difference between ordinary people and the Outsiders.

Here, he's just

a simple

and free human being.

Dad.

You devoted your whole life to the Outsiders' world.

Now,

you shall rest in peace

here at your favorite place, Mount Longhu.

Leave NDT Express

to me and Xu Si.

Dad.

You spent your life to teach me

about responsibility.

I shall remember your words forever.

Thank you, Mr. Xu.

Rest in peace.

Doggy.

This is for you.

Ms. Bao.

I'll stay by your side

until you find out the truth.

You've been protecting me for years.

From now on, let me do something for you.
