- Yeah, we're with

We produce CBD products,

so we are the cracker
barrel destination

for all things hemp.

We came up with CBD from hemp

so that we can still
be in the industry,

we just don't have THC
now in our products.

The CDB has the same medicinal
facts as the THC does.

So, it's an overall
pain reducer,

as well as if you
don't suffer any pain,

it has more omegas in
it than your fish oil

that you get over the counter.

It's good for blood
pressures, cholesterol,

it just has a lot of

- Our journey started years

the prison industrial complex

The prison industrial complex

has a choke hold
on all politicians,

helpful to their cause

at 60,000 dollars per bed.

That's a lot of money
to lock somebody up.

That's enough money to
send somebody to college.

- My dad just had
to go do some time.

- He's now doing two
years for marijuana.

- How do we have 5% of
the world's population,

and 25% of the prisoners?

Why is our prison
population for profit?

How do we have 7 to 1
black and brown people

to whites in prison?

It's the new Jim Crow.

- Do you get to visit him?

- We have to ask the guards
if we can talk to him,

and it takes up to 60 days
to get the answer from them.

If they say no, we have to
wait 180 days to try again.

- Wow.
- Oh, geez.

- A journey to the marijuana
show and how I got here,

I'm filling my husband's shoes,

honestly I'm trying to be
the face of this company

because he can not be right now.

Sorry.
- [Woman] It's okay.

- It's hard, it's been a long
time since we've seen him.

The kids mss him.

And of course I miss him.

- The war on drugs has been
a terrible disappointment.

(ringing)

- We woke up to take
the kids to school

like we did everyday.

Chris had noticed, "There's
a lot of police out today."

They followed us
over eight miles.

We got up to a four-way stop,

it was a big intersection
by the kid's school.

The truck turned right,

and he was ripped out
of the vehicle by swat.

I was pulled out by my hair
backwards by police officers.

One man grabbed my daughter
inside leaning in my vehicle

with a big gun, and he
grabbed her shoulders,

and started pushing them with
the guns in the kid's faces.

They took me and my kids to
the Sheriff's department,

and we sat there together.

My kids had to sit there
for over six hours.

We had a business, we had an
attorney telling us what to do.

So, as far as we knew, we
were following the laws,

we were doing what Arizona
said that we needed to do.

Me and Chris met when I was 15.

We've been together
now 13 years.

We've never been apart,
so this is a shock.

The kids have never
been away from him.

We've always done
everything as a family.

I want to legalize cannibis.

We aren't the only family
this has happened to.

My kids aren't the only kids
that have been tortured,

or scared by this,
we're not the only ones.

The more people can see that
there are so many of us.

It's not okay,

and I think people need
to see the severity

of what's really
happening over a plant,

over something
that's saving people.

If this had to happen so that
cannabis can be legalized,

or people do see
truths and stuff,

then my husband's a strong guy,

and he'll handle it.

- So, how would you explain CBD?

I mean, you've got a
nursing background.

- I did pediatrics for 12 years.

It's in the raw hemp seed oil,

that's where we're getting all
of our omegas, 3, 6, and 9s.

It's a natural antibacterial,
antifungal, anticonvulsive.

If you have diabetes, it
helps lower you blood sugars,

it helps cholesterol, bring
your cholesterol down,

all we're trying to do.

and then there's like a
little information about CBD,

like, "Come to our website if
you really wanna understand

"why it's so beneficial
to your dog."

- "Learn here," yeah.
- "Learn here," right.

- Yeah, the website, yeah.

- The issue is you guys feel
like you're not comfortable

talking in front of
the camera, right?

- Very, yes.

- So, I think the thing with
you Chris would be, you know,

just being the voice
of the dogs because

they don't have a voice other
than "woof" or (barking).

Isn't it true that dogs
who are in a lot of pain,

they can't really talk
to the humans, right?

- Actually they can cry,

which kind of
notifies, "Help me."

- "Help me," but wouldn't
it be better if you were

the one that said, "Let's help,"

and talk to all the
parents, and all the adults?

- Yeah.

gonna pitch right.

- Okay, so what
are you gonna say?

sure what to say, right?

- Yeah.

in my stomach.

- All.

- Well, that's a lot of dogs.

And then I had to think
like, "God, I love my dog."

So, that's what you want
them to do is just think

for a moment about their
own dogs because I think

Brian has a dog, like
a new dog or something,

and then I think his old
dog died or something.

So, I think of
all the investors,

I think he's gonna
think about that.

- It's gonna hit close to home.

- Yeah, that's what you
want is for them to go,

"Oh my gosh," because
the more personal,

the more they can imagine it,

the more their gonna
give you money.

But is that what your
product really does?

It makes old dogs young?

- Yeah.

- Don't you think there's
a lot of people that have

old dogs that wanna
make them young again?

- Yeah.

- So, I will say that
there is no right

or wrong answer to
that question at all.

It really comes down to
negotiating with an investor.

I can consider valuation to
be all about negotiation.

The rule behind the negotiation,

unfortunately, is
the golden rule,

which means that the
person with the gold,

or the money usually
makes the rules.

So, you have to come
with your best pitch,

and your most compelling story.

The most evidence
you have that this

is the best investment to
fight for that valuation.

- A big part of it as well,

when you're putting
that valuation

together and presenting it,

be confident in
that presentation,

and be able to
justify how and why

you came up with those numbers.

When you're presenting
that information to us,

we've seen and know
that information.

So, if there's a company
that just raised money,

and had larger
sales than your's,

and you're asking for more
money with lower sales,

that might work against you.

On the other side, if you're
asking for too little,

that could work
against you as well.
