a desire for some kind

I started to read
about other artists.

They were always affected by some
kind of tragedy in their life,

and had to suffer a great deal.

Van Gogh ended up
killing himself.

Monet went blind.

I felt like they understood
something more about life

that I wasn't getting
to experience.

Art has to be about
more than just,

"My life is great, and I'm
really good at drawing."

When he left prison,
he headed for the wilderness

with a gun, some paint,

and a deep desire to paint
every bird in America.

And when he came back
into civilization,

he was acclaimed as one of the
foremost figures in American art.

Audubon would never have imagined

that his book would be
the most valuable in existence.
