Original subtitles

Don't go through with that marriage.

You can't get married to Seo Ju.

Seo Ju.

What do you think you're doing?

Come with me.

What's the matter?

I should at least know the reason.

Your mother is...

the person that Chairman Han and Ji Hoon have...

been looking for.

Don't you get what I'm saying?

What are you...

She's the one who gave birth to Ji Hoon!

Mrs. Choi is here with the knowledge that your mother and Ji Hoon met.

I just stopped her cornering Seo Ju in her office.

What are you saying?

- On what ground? - I heard it myself.

I heard the conversation between your mother...

and Chairman Han on the phone.

Think about...

how Chairman Han has been acting.

Director Kang.

What are you doing here?

I thought you were going to the design team's office.

What's going on?

What is it? What did you hear in there?

Don't go through with that marriage.

You can't get married to Seo Ju.

Why, have you come to your senses now?

Have you come to your senses as Tae In's mother said...

she should cancel the marriage?

But...

why would she mention Ji Hoon?

She said something about Ji Hoon, right?

What does Ji Hoon have to do...

with Tae In's marriage?

When Eun Dong gets here,

send her to my office.

What about her?

She's been assigned to the design team.

Are you saying...

you would let her work for you when she had an affair with Tae In?

Jun Kyung, where are you?

I'm at Ji Hoon's office. What is it?

Come to my office.

I don't care. Who is Tae In's mother supposed to be to cancel this?

I'm getting married...

- to Tae In. - Seo Ju!

How dare she cancel my marriage because of someone like Eun Dong?

I'm the only one who can cancel it.

Your mother is the person that Chairman Han and Ji Hoon...

have been looking for.

She's the one...

who gave birth to Ji Hoon.

(Mom)

(Chairman Han)

Hello?

Director Kang, are you busy?

I'm waiting for you.

Director Kang.

I'm sorry,

but I'll have to call you back.

(Oksu-dong)

Yes. Well,

I'm going to talk...

to Tae In today.

I think Eun Dong knows about it.

Even the fact that I'm Ji Hoon's biological mother.

Your wife was just here to question me,

and Eun Dong came in to stop it.

She must know.

Then even Tae In?

He must have been told by now.

He's not taking my call.

- What did you say? - Tae In's mother...

met Chairman Han.

With Tae In's father?

No, sir.

They met alone.

Get on Tae In's mother.

Report to me when you see something.

Yes, sir.

It's pretty.

Ji Hoon!

- Why are you here? - What are you doing here?

Ji Hoon, why is she here?

- Why... - Leave us.

Why would I? She should be the one leaving.

Please leave us because we need to talk.

What would you have to talk to her about?

(Kang Tae In)

That makes no sense.

Why would...

my mother be Ji Hoon's mother?

Then Chairman Han would have told me himself.

He couldn't have because you might be shocked.

He even used to ask me a favor.

He asked me to see how your family is doing and tell him.

Then he decided to disclose everything...

and called you and Ji Hoon to that restaurant.

Then...

does that mean he was trying...

to get Seo Ju to marry me when he was aware of it?

I have a record file.

It's a conversation between him and your mother...

that was automatically recorded on my phone.

That's why Ji Hoon should know about it now.

He should know that you didn't desert him, he was taken away.

What about Tae In?

What would he think when he finds out that I'm...

Ji Hoon's biological mother?

If you get married to Seo Ju in this situation,

that means all your plans will be put on hold.

Will you be able to take them down in that family...

when Ji Hoon is your mother's actual son?

If you falter, it'll also be a problem for me.

Jun Hyuk will find out about your weakness...

and use it to get in your way.

Who knows about this?

Chairman Han, your mother, and me.

I'll have to check it myself.

So don't ever tell anyone.

What happened?

You weren't even picking up. Where have you been?

Get changed. I made great cheonggukjang.

Let's eat.

Honey.

What is it?

Is something wrong?

What if...

something bad happens to our Tae In because of me?

What are you talking about?

What would anything happen to him because of you?

Right.

Was this coat...

a gift from someone?

It's just that you've only been wearing this one lately.

I looked to take it to the laundry,

and there was a photo...

in the pocket.

It was a photo of a baby's 100th-day celebration. Who is it?

It wasn't Tae In.

Is it...

your lost son?

Yes.

You were talking about babies last time.

Do you want me to look for him with you?

Hello?

I'm trying to look for someone.

I have the date of birth and a picture.

(Product Development and Design Center)

Since when have we been accepting...

an ex-convict and gold digger in our team?

What is this?

Did you just take it away from my hand?

Ms. Cha, Chief Han wants you in her office.

Did you call me?

How's your first day in the design team?

I'll work hard, ma'am.

So Tae In did let you go after all.

This place could be like a tiger's den to you.

I'm ready to take it.

Okay then. Take it well.

You know Ji Hoon likes you, right?

He doesn't know his biological mother,

which means he's in a similar position as yours.

Did you approach him with that?

Just as you did with Tae in.

Really?

Are you really accepting me in the design team?

- Don't do anything stupid. - Of course not.

- Also... - Don't worry.

I'll take down Eun Dong for sure.

I keep a tight grip on her.

You've got class. You don't want her blood on your hands.

Chairman Choi's wife, Min Ju Ran.

Whatever. I don't care if I lose my job.

At least now, I'll take revenge for what Eun Dong suffered from.

Yes, Mom.

I'll kick that brat's butt.

She doesn't know her place.

Cha Eun Dong is joining the design team.

You'll see.

I'll make her rot in jail.

I'm Min Ju Ran's daughter, Choi Jun Kyung.

Who are you?

Do you want to get fired?

What? You're getting me fired again?

The mother and daughter are quite consistent.

Hey, it's me.

This is crazy.

Right, I'm Eun Dong's sister, Gong Young Sim.

Get me fired.

Get me fired.

What? You're fired?

Yes.

I poured scummy water to Min Ju Ran's daughter...

and got fired gloriously.

That's satisfying,

but what about our livelihood?

Well, I can just look for a part-time job.

It won't be easy in this bad economy.

"We're hiring!"

Right?

(We're hiring.)

Here.

Try this sample.

- We didn't order this. - We didn't order this.

It's complimentary for this little customer.

You're so cute.

I'd wish nothing more if my daughter had a child like him.

I've been here with Ji Hoon and Eun Dong.

Really?

You're looking for a part-timer, right?

Yes. Why?

How about me?

I'm sure I can attract male customers.

Hey, Young Sim!

What?

The one who asked Eun Dong to plant...

Huei Group's confidential documents in Tae In's office was...

Was it Aunt?

She was in a rush...

trying to take down Tae In to save her daughter.

And she's letting them get married.

Don't you know she's ruthless?

I'll have you hold all the cards, so make use of them.

You have a beef with Aunt too.

Instead, destroy Tae In.

You'd better not care for him anymore.

That makes you and my husband equal in taking advantage of Eun Dong.

You two are totally blind.

Yes, we got totally blinded by these circumstances.

Reinstate Jun Hyuk, Aunt.

No.

After talking to Seo Ju, I had a lot on my mind.

Now I've made my decision.

I'll make Tae In my son-in-law because of you two.

Will you?

I have no choice when Tae In is these two squirts' natural enemy.

Go on then.

I'll go and report to Chairman Han...

that you colluded with Eun Dong...

to destroy Tae in.

I heard Chairman Han privately met Tae in's mother.

What will happen if Chairman Han hears about this...

when he cares about Tae In and Eun Dong?

Chairman Han,

I need to speak to you now.

Okay.

I'll see you there.

Mrs. Choi doesn't know about this.

Neither does Mr. Choi nor Mrs. Oh.

Can I ask you a favor?

Don't let my wife,

Jun Hyuk, and Hye Won know...

about this.

You understand what I mean.

The parents from both sides met here...

and that's when I realized...

your mother was...

the one I was looking for.

I know...

how shocked you are.

You should...

You should've told me at least.

At least to me.

It was your mother's wish.

She asked me to wait.

It's been rough for her between you and Ji Hoon...

with the wedding coming.

What about my father?

What about the shock my father will get?

That's why I hesitated more.

Your mother was worried much...

about your father.

Both of you can't handle this.

When I marry Seo Ju,

my mother wouldn't be able to endure...

Ji Hoon's hatred and resentment towards me.

It's all my fault.

It's all brought...

by my father's and my sins.

So I've thought a lot about it.

But...

if he's her son, he's my son as well.

It would be hard for you, but I want to take you in as my family.

What if Mrs. Choi finds out?

My mother is a poke in her eye already.

She won't leave her alone if she finds out about you two.

Neither will Jun Hyuk and Hye Won.

I'll take care of that.

You don't have an excuse to call off the wedding anyway...

unless the truth is told.

If the wedding is called off, it will hurt Seo Ju so much.

Let's proceed with the wedding.

Make Eun Dong promise to look the other way...

and proceed with the wedding with Seo Ju.

Taking you in as my family is...

a way of making it up to Ji Hoon's mom who raised you...

after having Ji Hoon taken away from her.

Please understand me.

(Han Seo Ju)

Tae In, come to our villa. I need to talk to you.

Did you stay up all night here?

Tae In didn't come home.

What?

I should go to his company.

Honey.

Seo Ju didn't come home?

No.

Did something happen between you and Tae In's mother yesterday?

Did you try her phone?

You don't have to pretend to care.

You don't care if Seo Ju comes home or not.

Ji Hoon, try calling her.

You don't need to.

I'm sorry.

- Come with me. - I was with Tae In.

What?

I stayed with Tae In last night.

I'll get ready for work.

You...

Mrs. Min from Gugi-dong is here.

It's me, Mother.

- Can I talk to Tae In? - Did he not call you either?

Tae In didn't come home last night.

I heard Jun Hyuk will face permanent incapacitation.

He can't be promoted as long as you're in your position.

And he'll be the vice president forever?

Yes, so?

How can you do this to him?

You'll kick out all of our family and take Tae In and Eun Dong in.

- I'll talk to him, so go back. - There's no need.

Listen to me. The personnel decision about Jun Hyuk will remain the same.

Chairman Han!

Gwang Hoon, what's with you?

Why do you side with that trashy girl, Eun Dong?

Watch your mouth.

If you speak ill of that employee again,

replacing the head of the hospital won't be the end of it.

Did you hear about the news? There's a newcomer who knows you.

Me?

So he or she came for revenge on you.

(Chairman Han Gwang Hoon)

Director Kang hasn't come to work. Do you know where he is?

No. His cellphone is off, and I wasn't able to reach him.

Can I ask you a favor?

After you get off work, can you find where he is?

Yes, sir.

How is working in the design team?

I can offer you help, but you won't seem to like it.

I am fine enough with what I have.

I see. If you need my help, call me at any time.

What's wrong? Is it something I am not supposed to know?

I heard you, uncle, and Tae In's mother met alone.

How did you know that?

What is the relationship between you three?

That made Auntie put pressure on Tae In's mother.

Tae In hasn't even come to work today.

What's going on?

Did you say Tae In hasn't come to work?

Director Kang hasn't come to work today. Is he home?

Hasn't Tae In gone to work?

His phone is turned off. Is something going on?

It's...

Tell me. Have you known my father before?

Do you know my father?

What is going on here?

Aren't you enough with Tae In? Why are you even bothering my wife?

Dear, it's not like that.

What did she do wrong? Take it out on me.

Dear.

Could you tell me where Director Kang might go?

Now let's wait.

Why don't they catch the bait?

- Dad! - What's wrong?

What is she doing?

Look! Don't do it!

Look! It's dangerous!

Wait!

Come out!

Look! Come back!

If you go further, it's dangerous!

Here, drink this.

It's where Tae In met his mother.

He goes there whenever he's exhausted.

Is this the place...

all you could escape?

What did you just say?

Stop bothering Cha Eun Dong.

Father, why are you so nervous? What are you so scared of her?

Think carefully.

Why would Chairman Han...

stick up for her?

What do you mean? Tell me clearly.

Dad!

Eun Dong's father has...

- There's nothing to hear about him. - Ji Hoon's...

life was saved by him.

What did you say?

What do you mean?

It's childish! It doesn't make any sense!

I mean, the person who died in our hospital.

Cha Man Jong, the janitor.

A long time ago...

when Ji Hoon went missing,

he saved Ji Hoon...

who was on the brink of death.

That's why Chairman Han...

sticks up for her.

When that janitor died seven years ago,

Chairman Han was more than furious.

Does that mean...

you let a person like him die in our hospital?

And Jun Hyuk, you arrested his daughter?

If so, why didn't Uncle say that in the first place?

He should have told us already!

I think Chairman Han...

has some thoughts.

He's about to...

shake out of you, me, and your aunt...

and investigate something.

There must be something fishy in his mind.

What do you mean, "something fishy"?

Why are you saying this after all this time?

You said there is nothing you are hiding from me!

There is a reason.

That is just enough for you to know!

Dad!

What is the reason you're talking about?

Tell me.

Ji Hoon.

You.

You are hiding something from me, aren't you?

What is it?

Tell me.

(Fatal Promise)

Go to that address.

Look who is with Kang Tae In.

Do you know who saved you from death?

Don't you understand the situation yet? It could ruin the whole family!

Your mother is such a strange person.

What is the reason you met my father and me separately?

If you don't understand it, then you could at least feel it!

To celebrate my first day at work,

I'm thinking of making a huge scene.

It's all over the company!

But who did it?

Maybe Seo Ju knew all about this.
