I'm sorry. [Episode 3]

The patient didn't make it.

No! You can still bring her back!

My sister would never give up that easily.

Unnie.

Unnie, you told me...

we would fight to survive till the end.

Unnie, Unnie, Unnie!

Come on. Breathe.

Unnie, please.

The baby is alive.

The baby is alive!

The baby is still breathing.

We might save it if we operate right now.

The oxygen was probably cut off when the mom died.

Brain damage means the baby will need extra care.

She has to be transferred to a bigger hospital.

The closest one is an hour's drive.

This child...

and you too...

I love you both more than anything,

and I'd give my life to keep you safe.

If we hold off, the baby won't make it, either.

I can't lose the child my sister died for.

Please go ahead with the surgery.

There is still hope for a miracle.

I am begging you.

No.

The delivery room is occupied,

and I have no nurses available.

You have a nurse right here!

I have three years on the job,

including delivering babies. I can help.

Fine, let's do this.

Move it.

It's her first delivery so expect complications.

Please look after my wife.

Don't worry.

I give you my word.

Both mom and baby will be fine.

[Operating Room]

[Restricted area]

I am losing my mind over this.

Is the whole world out of its mind?

Death was coming for Dan Hui, but took Myeong Hui instead.

That is just not right!

Please...

At least let the baby pull through,

please?

It's a healthy baby boy.

It's nothing short of a miracle.

Doctor, your little girl is healthy, too.

Both babies...

arrived on the same day and time.

I run on sheer confidence,

but calming a crying baby is one thing I can't do.

So stop crying, okay?

I will do my best.

What's wrong?

You sense it, too, don't you?

You know your mom left when you arrived.

Hold on. Why are you crying, too?

Are you tearing up for your friend?

You're making me want to cry so stop it.

Someone, please help.

No more tears. Peekaboo!

What's wrong with being alone?

That's just life. You're not a twelve-year-old anymore.

You'll be just fine even if I'm gone.

I was the one who was wrong.

This whole thing was on me.

So please,

just open your eyes!

We never once saw each other happy.

You could never find real joy due to me.

It's just not fair.

No...

don't leave.

You can't leave like this.

You won't even see your baby

or cradle him in your arms.

You will still

be in pain on the other side.

It hurts too much this way.

This is just devastating.

Unnie...

Unnie, please stay!

Please, don't leave me!

Unnie!

- You are only making it worse for her. - Unnie!

Let her pass in peace.

No!

How can I...

How can I just let her go?

Unnie!

Unnie.

What am I supposed to do?

Unnie!

Wait a moment.

It seems like...

she was killed.

You are so pitiful.

How are you not affected by this?

We just... ended someone's life.

We will get over it in a few days.

It was the same way five years back.

What are you talking about, five years?

Noonim,

did you harm the CEO's daughter?

She was frail and near death anyway.

I sped it up a few years...

No, a few months at most.

I never should have gone in with you.

I should have stopped you at all costs!

I have zero regrets.

Instead of wasting away in this Hell

and dying a feeble old woman,

I'd rather claw my way out

and deal with whatever comes next.

What if we get caught?

He just lost the son he longed for.

You think President Park will let that slide?

He will either bring in the police or do it himself,

but one way or another, he will discover the truth.

Do you think I'd act without a backup plan?

Don't worry.

I know someone who can do this cleanly.

I didn't catch it in all the chaos,

but marks are from a ligature.

It's proof of too much pressure.

These are clear signs of strangulation.

So Myeong Hui really was...

But who...

who in the world would...

It was them.

Is there anyone you have in mind?

We spotted shady people outside her place.

They could be the ones who did it.

With suspects, we can track the killer.

She left behind the key piece of proof.

She had no visible bleeding on arrival.

This blood mark...

has to be from the killer.

Also,

the blood on this...

most likely came from the killer, too.

So that explains...

that explains...

Sister held this till the end.

Where are you going?

I am going to track down those people.

I will find them, and I will kill them.

Dan Hui!

Dan Hui.

- Dan Hui, open your eyes! - Are you okay?

Wake up!

Wake up! What's wrong?

Dan Hui!

Is today when

you seal the Wooju Department Store deal?

If you know that, then don't bother me.

Don't ruin my mood

before a big moment.

Then brace yourself for bad news.

What do you mean?

You...

You have ties to the police, right?

"The police"? What for?

A situation needs fixing.

I...

I...

I killed Kim Myeong Hui.

If word gets out that I am a killer,

your Wooju deal is finished.

You said jewelry was just the start,

and you had grander ambitions.

Will you let it crumble before it starts?

Moreover, my child is your sole heir.

It's not like you can kill me, right?

So keeping this concealed...

Are you telling me...

- Oh Jung Ran, you... - That's right.

That's right!

I'm the one who killed her.

I'm done pleading for your affection!

My child will inherit Adele and take charge!

That is my sole purpose now.

Oh Jung Ran, you...

Just do me this one favor,

and I will owe you whatever you want!

Keeping Adele safe matters more

than throwing me behind bars, right?

I am way more valuable

to your child alive than buried.

Do Adele and your own ambition

not matter more to you than that lowlife Kim Myeong Hui?

Out of my way!

Jung Ran, are you okay?

You will give me a heart attack.

Why did you drag President Park into this?

He was bound to figure it out anyway.

Better to have him on our side now than get caught later.

Gosh, you are trembling all over.

Forget all this craziness.

Let's just flee to the country.

We could lay low out there...

Shut up and go check the villa.

Keep an eye on Park Tae Ho,

and let me know if something is off.

Go!

Man, this is absolutely nuts.

Darn it!

Yes, that's it.

This will do the trick.

From here on,

nothing can get in our way anymore.

She had cancer surgery in Seoul and got discharged just yesterday.

She was already exhausted,

then Myeong Hui passed away.

Plus, it was a murder.

It would be odd if she weren't a mess.

There is so much to deal with.

Wouldn't reaching out to the dad help?

I think Dan Hui needs to handle that on her own.

Then let's contribute however we can.

I will file a report and hand over any evidence we have.

Leave the funeral stuff to me.

I will get her body moved first.

Sure.

Grandma, is that nurse a whale?

Can she really eat all of that?

That is a ton of food.

Well,

when you need to eat after birth,

too much is not enough.

Package delivery.

It's the one I have been wanting!

Who would have sent this, though?

Grandma, who is this present from?

[Ma'am, sorry for leaving without saying goodbye.]

The nurse sent it over.

She is leaving for a while.

She sent this to help you manage till she is back.

For real?

How many sleeps till she comes back?

Good question.

I wonder how long it will be.

Man, my legs won't stop shaking.

This place still gives me the creeps in daylight.

That's right.

No matter how I see it, I shouldn't have returned.

No, hold on.

If this whole thing falls apart,

I will be totally screwed.

Who are you?

What are you doing here?

This villa belongs to Adele's owner,

and his wife sent me here.

"His wife"?

Are you the driver?

Yes.

What did you do with Kim Myeong Hui's body?

I'm a detective.

President Park sent me so start talking.

How do I dispose of a body that is missing?

Wait.

Are you telling me that the body is missing?

What?

Didn't you guys take care of it?

No.

Then what happened?

Did the body just stand up and leave?

No chance.

Did she come back as a spirit?

Darn it!

What's up?

I'm out for a bit handling something.

What?

Did you receive a report about a new mom dying?

Kim Myeong Hui?

[Baek OB-GYN]

Is anybody in here?

I am with the police department.

We received a call about the death

of Kim Myeong Hui.

Oh, right.

Where is the doctor in charge?

He ran out to grab some diapers.

He should be back any minute.

My husband owns this clinic.

But why is this place so empty?

I-It's quite eerie in here.

We are shutting the whole thing down.

Most of our things are already packed up,

but...

my water broke out of nowhere last night

so he opened back up just for my delivery.

Oh, I see.

Aigoo!

So you delivered two babies at once.

No, this little one belongs to me.

That other baby belongs to her,

the woman who died during the night.

It breaks my heart.

She didn't even get to see her own child...

Wait a second.

So what you're saying

is that the deceased, Kim Myeong Hui,

actually had a baby?

That's right.

My husband gave her emergency surgery just in time,

and the baby pulled through.

Oh, crap.

- Hand it over! - Hey! What got into you?

Hey! Get over here!

What do you think you're doing?

I should notify Jung Ran.

You little punk!

Have you lost your mind?

Jung Ran deserves to hear this before anybody else.

President Park must be the first one we tell.

Stay out of my way and disappear if you want this handled.

[Intensive-care Unit]

Hold it right there!

Oh, Dan Hui.

That suspicious guy just now...

[Adele and Wooju Department Store Contract-signing Ceremony]

- How was the food? - It was great.

- I anticipate a successful partnership. - Sure.

- I think we are all set. - Absolutely.

Oh, I am so sorry about that.

Okay, let's do this.

[Partnership Agreement]

Done. All is in order.

[Adele and Wooju Department Store Contract-signing Ceremony]

- Thank you so much. - Thank you.

I am excited to work with you.

Thank you. Thank you.

The number you dialed can't be reached right now.

- This is unbelievable. - Try calling back later.

He won't even answer while I'm handling his problems.

I saw that child with my own eyes...

I know exactly what I witnessed.

The baby is alive.

So what is our move here?

What do you think?

Get the baby out of there, now!

Hurry, before Park Tae Ho finds him!

Don't move.

You will stay put until I reach Mr. Park.

But...

my bladder is about to burst.

Oh, please...

get your hands off me!

As if you're convincing...

I'm not joking.

It's urgent.

- I really need to go. - Hey.

- I am... - Is it pee or other stuff?

Do you want me to do it right here?

You are making that up.

Hey!

[Newborn Nursery]

What on Earth is happening?

That makes no sense!

I am positive the child was here!

Are you a total idiot?

Are you certain this is the spot?

I mean...

Nobody is around.

Kim Myeong Hui's body is gone, too.

How does a corpse just vanish?

What is even happening anymore?

- Sweetheart, are you okay? - Yes, I am all right.

Your sister's body is secured in the car now.

I appreciate it.

I will ride with her to the funeral home.

Head straight home, all right?

Be careful.

Don't worry about me.

We should leave here, too.

Okay.

Let's go.

Track them down right now!
