[A Moment But Forever]

[Episode 28]

Xue has to

take care of both of you alone.

It must be really tough.

She is a very good person.

I cherish her very much.

You can say nice things to my face, you know.

Saying them behind my back,

I won't be able to hear them.

Who did this?

Qian Lin.

It must be Qian Lin.

He just hates my flowers.

Where is he?

Bravo!

Not bad with your training.

Hurry and hand out the dates to the children.

Come here, kids.

Come on, come on, have some dates.

Slow down, slow down.

Don't fight, don't fight, don't fight.

Give me one.

Okay, okay, okay.

Take some more.

Take more.

I want some too.

Thank you.

Look how beautiful that cloud is.

It looks like a majestic tiger.

More like a paper tiger.

When the wind blows,

it'll be gone.

You're such a killjoy.

The truth

is unpleasant.

When I was in the tower ship,

I never thought

that one day

I'd be able to watch clouds with someone

at the door of my own house.

I never thought either

that this thing

would be something people enjoy.

You don't like it,

but you're still watching it with me.

And you don't hate me,

right?

Thank you for taking care of me these days.

I'm grateful to you.

Alright, alright, alright.

Don't be in such a hurry

to set boundaries with me.

I know you like Tanyin.

Why doesn't anyone like me?

You just haven't met the right person yet.

Right?

I guess I'll wait a bit longer then.

Look at that cloud.

Doesn't it look like a fish?

Braised fish, maybe.

Can't it be steamed?

No, wait.

Why does it have to be cooked?

I want a fish swimming in the river.

Alright.

Look at that cloud.

Isn't it adorable?

Doesn't it look just like my face?

How are you feeling?

Do you feel better after getting some fresh air?

I've been feeling much better for a while now.

Don't worry.

You seem to be very happy here.

Yes, indeed.

Because I have Xue here.

And Qian Lin.

And also...

And you.

Tell me,

do you think Qian Lin will fully recover?

It's hard to say.

Really?

What if he becomes even better than before?

I have an errand to run.

You can continue practicing here.

♫Ask the heavens♫

♫I don't know why I'm without a home♫

♫I'm at a dead end♫

♫And I have to surrender and accept my destiny♫

♫I'm the wandering one♫

♫My body and mind, falling into dust♫

♫Only the moon in the sky♫

♫Shines upon the lifelong decay♫

♫The scars you can't see♫

♫Are the proof of my struggle♫

♫Be your own last straw of hope♫

♫Why do you have to go alone?♫

♫Let me learn to be fearless♫

♫I live with no regrets♫

♫Who deserves to be crushed?♫

♫Don't tell me what's right or wrong♫

Your staff technique is good.

You know about staff techniques?

Not really.

But I can see some intricacies in it.

Was it taught by a master?

I suppose so.

Not bad.

It's a pity it was taught to the wrong person.

Stop right there.

What do you mean by that?

What I mean is,

although the staff technique is exquisite,

you've only learned the form

without grasping its essence.

That's quite a bold statement.

Didn't you say you don't know about staff techniques?

Does one need to be a chef

to judge the quality of a dish?

Who are you calling a chef?

It's hard to explain to you.

Did I say you could leave?

Seems like you haven't learned your lesson.

You helped me.

I remember that.

But that's a separate matter.

You can't leave without explaining yourself.

What's the matter? Getting anxious?

Do you think being a chef is shameful?

You War Demons grew up eating dirt.

You think being a chef is easy?

Being a chef

requires understanding fire and seasoning,

knowing when to add ingredients,

when to take them out,

balancing rich broths and delicate flavors,

achieving the right color,

and mastering every aspect with precision.

Can you do that?

It's not easy to perfect

anything in this world.

For a War Demon,

is it so difficult to ask for guidance?

There's more to what you're saying.

Do you have a way to help me?

I do.

What will it take for you to tell me?

Do you want me to kneel and beg?

Just say, "Please teach me."

What can you teach me?

That depends on what you want to learn.

Alright.

Please teach me.

What did you say?

Your voice was too soft. I couldn't hear.

Please teach me.

You're asking for me to teach you?

Teach you what?

Please teach me,

whom you just restored the magic source of,

how I can return

to my previous state

so that I can take revenge.

Very well.

Then I need an attitude from you.

Please enlighten me.

It's simple.

Let go of your so-called prejudices

and unnecessary pride.

Be a good chef.

You're toying with me.

I haven't finished.

Speak!

In this vast world,

culinary skills are inexhaustible.

As I said,

if you want to be a top chef,

you need to experience all kinds of cuisines

and learn from renowned masters.

But if you want to be

a good chef in chaotic times,

you don't need to be bound by

so many rules and regulations.

A good chef in chaotic times...

What do I do?

Let go of all tricks.

As long as what you make

can fill the stomachs of hungry people,

you are a good chef.

I don't understand.

Who a good chef is,

is decided by the diners.

There aren't so many rules that must be followed.

So?

So,

who decides who can become

a perfect War Demon?

I've never thought about that.

Maybe it's

the fortune of the War Demon ancestors

and their recognition.

Who says there's only one way

to be recognized by ancestral fortune?

Young City Lord.

Where is that Youhu scoundrel?

We've already sent scouts to watch him.

Tang is now in the inn.

No movement for now.

Should we forcefully kill him?

No need.

Just keep watching him.

He's the commander of the Youhu Clan's War Division.

His strength is considerable.

It won't be easy to kill him.

Even without the commotion it would cause,

if he managed to escape,

it would alert our enemies.

Then, just keep watching?

He has a close relationship with Zhi Dai.

He probably won't hide it from her

and report the matter.

At least not now.

The time we've gained

should be enough.

He's no longer important.

What about the other two?

We've positioned people

around Young Mistress Dai.

City Lord...

Speak.

The City Lord

removed all soldiers from outside the room.

Okay.

Quickly prepare the wine.

Young City Lord,

do you really want to do this?

Some things,

once done,

are hard to undo.

I have already

reached the point of no return.

What is it?

I apologize for disturbing your seclusion, Father.

Please forgive me.

Ah, it's Yue.

What brings you here?

Father,

Dai has returned.

She brought news

that the fox clan's immortal medicine

must be accompanied by

their specially made immortal wine

for the effects to last.

I didn't dare delay,

so I specially obtained this wine

to bring to you.

You are thoughtful, my son.

I'm done. You can take it away.

Yes.

Is there something else?

N-Nothing.

How dare you!

The food was poisoned.

Indeed.

The Young City Lord calculated well.

You've already been poisoned with a power-sealing toxin.

Surrender obediently now.

It's Zhi Yue who wants to arrest me, isn't it?

Acting like this

is no different from rebellion.

My father would never forgive you.

The rebel is you!

All units, attention!

The City Lord has died suddenly.

Young Mistress Dai is under heavy suspicion.

Arrest her immediately!

Yes, sir!

Qian Lin is meditating outside.

Why has he been sitting there for so long?

Don't worry about him.

But...

It's fine.

I just gave him a little guidance.

Thank you, Yuanzhong.

There's no need for thanks between us.

He's your good friend,

so of course I'll treat him

as a close bodyguard.

It's normal to look after him.

He doesn't want to be

your bodyguard at all.

If he hears you say that,

he'll get angry again.

Aren't you afraid of making me angry?

Of course not.

Let's play a game.

It's very popular in the Mortal Realm recently.

Do you see that hook?

We'll try to throw this ring over it.

The person who loses

can grant the winner

a wish.

They can accumulate, you know.

Is this game really from the Mortal Realm?

Where did you see it?

Why are you asking so many questions?

Let me show you how it's done.

Come on, hurry.

It's okay, try again.

Watch me.

It's your turn.

It must be because the hook I made

isn't curved enough.

Next time, I'll make you

a better one.

Why do I feel like

you're toying with me?

I'm not.

Don't go.

Don't be angry.

I'm not angry.

I'm just going to pick up the things.

You don't need to pick them up.

I'll do it.

Why aren't you taking this seriously?

I've worked on this for a long time.

Because I don't need to win.

Because...

Because I want

to fulfill all your wishes.

♫Too many old dreams♫

♫Where did the snow fall to?♫

♫Going to face a catastrophe♫

♫No one is irrelevant♫

♫A slight ripple in my gaze♫

♫Who knows the warmth and cold of my fleeting life?♫

♫If staying together is difficult, it's not worth it♫

♫I'll return what's left of my life♫

♫Falling into the mortal world♫

♫Wandering through the clouds and rivers♫

♫Being by your side is like finding the shore♫

♫If between oaths♫

♫I hold onto the longing for just one more glance♫

♫Unwilling to bid farewell for good♫

♫Tears grow cold in a single cup♫

♫Longing fades in half♫

♫Like flowers in a mirror, or the moon in the water♫

♫The lonely guest can't sleep, destiny can't be undone; speechless♫

♫Falling into the mortal world♫

♫Wandering through the clouds and rivers♫

♫Being by your side is like finding the shore♫

♫The moon falls by the riverbank♫

♫The light finally dims♫

♫How can my heart be at ease?♫

♫Tears grow cold in a single cup♫

♫Longing fades in half♫

♫Like flowers in a mirror, or the moon in the water♫

Qian Lin?

Qian Lin!

What's wrong with him?

He's not doing breath-holding too, is he?

It's alright, he's just practicing his skills.

Let's not disturb him.

Come on, let's go first.

Tanyin.

You've been shopping for a long time.

What exactly do you want to buy?

I want to buy some fabric

and some silk thread.

I know where to find good materials,

and they're affordable too.

I remember it's over there.

Come on, I'll take you there.

Tanyin.

Tanyin?

I didn't expect this.

I really didn't expect

that the god of the Youhu Clan has become a demon.

Even without becoming a demon, I can still kill you.

Having become a demon,

I can still spare your miserable life.

You were there that night, weren't you?

You saw everything?

You're so afraid,

yet you still dared to come here.

Dingxu, you've got some brains.

In this world,

there are plenty of cold-hearted, greedy,

stubborn, and unrepentant individuals.

Those as evil as you

all deserve to die.

Therefore,

I once thought of using the power of the Divine Hand

to bring down divine punishment

and make this world

completely pure and righteous again.

At that time,

people like you

would all disappear.

Demon!

How can you do this?

Whether I would do this or not,

don't you know better than anyone else?

However,

I don't plan to do that anymore.

Is that so?

Yes.

You're in your twilight years,

and you have no Blood Pills left to use.

You don't have many days left to live anyway.

So I can't be bothered to kill you myself.

But

if you dare

to sneak around behind my back again

and do some disrespectful things,

I won't mind shortening

your lifespan even further.

Do you understand?

Go now.

Hide where I can't see you.

Ladies.

Shopkeeper, bring some silk thread.

I'll choose some fabric too.

Alright!

Tanyin,

I noticed you don't have many clothes.

Are you making new clothes for yourself?

Having enough clothes to wear is fine.

I saw that

Yuanzhong's robe was damaged,

so I want to make him a new one.

You are so nice to the High Priest.

Did you

bring his measurements with you?

How much fabric do we need to buy?

Have you forgotten?

I'm a craftsman.

I can tell at a glance.

The measurements

are right here.

Shopkeeper,

please cut 10 meters

of this fabric

and match it with some silk thread.

Remember to pack them up.

Alright!

Tanyin,

shall we go back now?

What's wrong?

Are you tired from shopping?

No.

But when we came out,

we didn't tell the High Priest.

If he finds out

that you went out while you're sick,

he'll definitely be upset.

Why are you so afraid of him?

Of course I'm afraid.

Aren't you?

I think you're afraid too.

Good morning.

Didn't I tell you

not to go out yet?

I told you too

that I'm already better.

High Priest, why did you come out?

I came out to find you two.

Alright.

Fine.

Remember to tell me in advance next time.

I got it.

Can you help her for a while?

I'll go inside and work for a bit.

What are you doing?

High Priest.

Give me the fish.

I'll go clean it.

Then what should I do?

High Priest, if it's convenient,

could you help me start the fire?

Thank you, High Priest.

Move aside.

Move aside.

Move aside, move aside.

Yuanzhong!

Yuanzhong.

What's the matter?

Quickly look at this.

Did you make this?

Yes, I did.

You made it just now?

Yes, just now.

That's so fast. Let me see.

This isn't even considered fast.

I saw that your clothes were damaged.

I've been wanting to make you a new one.

I just took apart the sleeves

and remade them.

Otherwise, it would have been even faster.

Come on, let's go try it on.

When will my love

bloom?

Turn around and let me see.

Isn't this...

I bought this for you

a while ago.

You were angry with me then,

so I never got to put it on you.

Ji Tanyin,

I promise

I'll never get angry with you again.

Really.

What does "oh" mean?

It means I got it.

It looks quite nice.

I think it looks nice too.

It's wonderful.

What is?

To be cared for

is wonderful.

How's your wound?

It's nothing.

Zhi Yue did it.

As expected.

Shall we go find him now?

No, we're going to see the High Priest.

Jiuguang has found his whereabouts.

Young City Lord.

What is it?

Young Mistress Dai has been taken by the Youhu Clan.

Are you sure?

It was the Youhu Clan?

The news just came in.

It's absolutely certain.

If the Youhu Clan and Young Mistress Dai

come together

to attend the old City Lord's funeral,

then we...

Quickly, bring me my token.

I need to send a message to

Li Chaoyang, Chief of the War Demons.

Hurry!

Yes, sir.

Is anyone there?

Is anyone there?

Coming!

Who are you looking for?

We're looking for the High Priest.

You said Zhi Yue killed his father?

That's correct.

I've already sent word back to our clan.

Not only did Zhi Yue commit patricide,

but he's also in cahoots with the War Demons.

The reason why the War Demons have

remained influential despite their decline

is thanks to the help of the Wushuang Chamber of Commerce.

And the person behind this sinister Wushuang Chamber of Commerce

is none other than Zhi Yue.

This man has been plotting among the human race for a long time.

He's eyeing our Youhu Clan.

A catastrophe seems inevitable.

Zhi Dai originally wanted to persuade Zhi Yue

to return to the right path

but ended up being held under house arrest by him instead.

Fortunately, I sent Jiuguang in advance

to keep an eye on this matter

and rescued her.

Three days from now is the City Lord's grand funeral.

By then, the new City Lord will take office.

If Zhi Yue is allowed

to ascend to the position of Yandu City Lord,

then the situation of both

the human race and the Youhu Clan

will be in grave danger.

I have sent a letter to Elder Xinyao.

She replied saying

Baili Xiang will bring

the soldiers of the Youhu Clan

and rush here overnight.

Yuanzhong,

what are your plans for this matter?

Yuanzhong,

given the current situation,

you won't also

stand idly by this time, will you?

The way you said "also" is really...

She was a handmaiden from Fangwai Mountain,

right?

Yes.

Those years, Zhi Dai

went up the mountain for my sake.

In the end, I let her down.

Now that she's in this predicament,

I must protect her at all costs.

Tanghua,

someone just told me recently

that this world is vast.

It's not just about the petty interests,

conflicts, and struggles

of the Youhu Clan, the War Demon Clan,

or the human race.

There are many other places

worth visiting,

many sights

worth seeing.

However,

since this is your matter, Tanghua...

I naturally have no reason

to not get involved.

Are your injuries serious?

It's nothing.

When I came down the mountain,

I thought you were dead.

I didn't know

you were the human Young Mistress of Yandu.

Seeing you alive

is truly wonderful.

People come and go,

gather and part.

It's all in due time.

Just like how the sun, moon, and stars take turns,

life goes on endlessly.

Although your father has passed away,

he always thought of you,

and you always thought of him.

This is the fulfillment

of your father-daughter relationship in this life.

I understand.

Thank you, Ji Tanyin.

Young Mistress Dai,

I understand your concerns,

and I'm willing to lend you a hand.

But you must know

that there'll surely be a fierce battle when the time comes.

I'm prepared

for all possibilities.

That's good then.

Your willingness to help

is deeply appreciated by the human race.

Thank you, High Priest.

Please rise.

Get up quickly.

Zhi Yue's actions

are no longer just the internal affairs of the human race.

Since I am still

the High Priest of the Youhu Clan,

I can't just stand by and do nothing.

You haven't eaten much at all.

I've made some sweet soup.

Drink it while it's hot.

Is there anything else

I can do for you?

I've also experienced

the pain of losing loved ones,

so I understand

that at times like these,

no matter who it is

or what they say, it's all useless.

You just want to be alone

and have some quiet time.

Whether it's having a good cry

or getting drunk,

the point is,

don't keep it all bottled up inside.

I'll be right outside the door.

I'll always be here.

Grand Elder,

I'll go find a doctor for you.

Wait for me.

It's useless, useless.

Yuanzhong.

Blood Pill.

Blood Pill?

Blood Pill.

Do I still have one?

Yes, I do.

Alright, I'll go get it.

Mr. Tanghua.

Elder, you've traveled a long way here.

Thank you for your hard work.

It's my duty.

The situation in Yandu is complicated now

and the City Lord has just passed away.

It's necessary for us to come earlier

to make proper preparations.

Now the War Demons are coming with great force.

Zhi Yue has also been plotting for years,

intending to make a move against our clan.

I'm afraid there might be a major incident.

I'll take you immediately

to see the High Priest.

The High Priest is here too?

Yes.

Sir, then I must trouble you

to take them there first.

Elder, aren't you coming

with us?

On my way here,

I've already contacted

an informant in Yandu City.

One of his subordinates

is waiting for me in the south of the city.

He has a detailed map

of the City Lord's Mansion in Yandu.

We should

get a clear understanding first.

As always, Elder, you've thought of everything.

Then I'll go ahead first.

Chief Li Chaoyang.

I've been looking forward to this for a long time.

We've been corresponding for years,

and today

I finally get to see you in person.

It's not I who wants to see you.

It's the god who wants to see you.

[Wushuang Society Secret Manual]

This can't be real.

How can the Wushuang Secret Manual

reappear in the Mortal Realm?

This is impossible.

You must know

if it's real or not.

Master,

would you be willing to help your student?

What do you want me to do?

The weather is so nice today.

The sun isn't too harsh either

and there's no wind.

I'm feeling much better too.

What do you think?

What are you trying to say?

Can't I go with you?

You want to go?

Are you worried about me?

I don't know why,

but I feel uneasy.

After today,

let's leave Yandu.

Where to?

Anywhere.

As long as I'm with you,

anywhere is fine.

In the south, there's a giant beast

called the elephant.

Its body is like a small mountain,

weighing tens of thousands of jin.

I saw one once.

A street performer

used a rope as thin as a pinky

to tie it securely.

He whipped and scolded it,

yet the elephant didn't dare to resist.

I asked the performer,

"This elephant weighs tens of thousands of jin.

Why does it submit to you?"

Guess what he said?

He said this elephant

had been bound by this rope

since it was young.

Qian Lin,

find the rope that binds you

and untie it.

[Yandu City]

Are you alright?

I'm fine.

Here, take this.

Thank you, sir.

My father said there's something big happening in the city today.

No one is allowed to play on the streets.

Then you should hurry home.

You should go home too.
