=Episode 16=

Look.

What are you doing?

You got upset when I hurt you before.

Why are you still upset now that I kiss you?

- Great. - Bravo.

So impressive.

Are you alright?

Hurry and run!

Run!

Run! Go!

Be careful.

Run!

Careful! On the left!

Behind you!

The fire!

Young Master, we're here.

Luo Qi and He Jiyao are here.

How are you?

I'm fine.

My Lady.

Lie.

Qingkou, why are you here?

Your eyes...

This place isn't safe.

Let's hurry back to find a physician.

- Okay. - Let's go.

How is he?

Your Majesty,

General Lie's eye injury is serious.

He may temporarily lose his sight.

How long will it take to recover?

I've applied medicine to the general.

He must rest for a month before he fully recovers.

What?

But the final match

is in two days.

Rest assured, Xu.

Even if I can't see,

I'll still win the match.

My Lady, it's getting cold.

You should go rest.

I'll stay here and wait.

General Lie can't see now.

You need to take good care of him.

Spread my order:

During General Lie's recovery,

no one is allowed

to disturb him.

Understood.

His eyes were injured?

They killed Mo.

Only his eyes were hurt.

It's too merciful to him.

Don't worry, My Lord.

The match in two days

has been arranged as you instructed.

At that time, I'll take Xuan Lie's life

and avenge the young master.

I'll kill Xuan Lie and become

the Wolf Lord.

General...

This...

- General. - Lie.

Zhizhou, Mr. Sun.

Lie, how are you now?

General Lie, your eyes...

Don't worry, Mr. Sun.

The physician said it'll recover in a few days.

But the final match is in two days.

How can you compete with your eyes like this?

Xi Changkun must hate you to the core

because of Xi Mo's death.

Not only will he desperately fight for the Wolf Lord position,

but I also worry

he'll find ways to take revenge

during the third match.

Participating in the match like this

is far too dangerous.

No matter what, I cannot quit.

Zhizhou,

your plaques

are more than mine and Xi Changkun's now.

If anything happens to me during the match,

you must take the position of Wolf Lord.

That won't do.

We can't let Xi Changkun succeed.

If he gains military power,

the Five Clans will be in turmoil.

General Lie's right.

Xi Changkun will do anything to seize power,

even sacrificing the lives of the commoners.

How can he become the Wolf Lord?

In my heart,

the true Wolf Lord is General Lie.

Don't worry.

I'll find every way

to help you win the match.

Lie, rest assured.

Leave it to me and Mr. Sun.

Thank you.

In Beixuan, I'm the best medicine maker.

I've seen Lie's injury.

With my medicine,

his eyes will heal in a few days.

What do you want now?

I'll tell you later.

I'm going to apply medicine to Lie first.

You stay here and wait for me.

When I come back, I'll have good news for you.

The Queen Mother is here.

Mother, why are you here?

Tomorrow is the final match.

Lie's eyes are injured.

I feel truly uneasy.

Don't worry, Mother.

Lie has already promised me

it won't affect the match.

I'm glad he's confident,

but everything can happen in the match.

Right now, he can't see.

How can he guarantee he'll win?

This is what I think.

If Lie loses,

you should support Xi Changkun.

After all, he is a cousin of mine.

He'll also be loyal to you.

I won't meddle in court matters,

but in this situation,

I must plan ahead for you.

Lie is indeed the best candidate for the Wolf Lord,

but if something goes wrong,

only one of the royals can ease me off.

Yes, you're right.

I'll think carefully about it.

Alright, I'm tired now.

I'll go rest first.

Farewell, Mother.

Your Majesty.

What do you think?

I have no say in this.

Xi Changkun and Mother are from the same clan.

He's ambitious.

If he becomes the Wolf Lord,

with the Queen Mother backing him,

will he still be under my command?

No matter the result of the match,

the only one who can be the Wolf Lord

is Lie.

Your Majesty,

I've asked Princess Qingkou

to treat General Lie's injuries.

Lie, take good care of yourself,

and you'll recover in a few days.

Qingkou, you're getting better.

I can already see faint shadows.

Of course.

I can make both poison

and antidotes.

I'm much better than imperial physicians.

- The King is here. - Yes.

- Xu. - Xu.

Don't stand on ceremony. Sit.

How do you feel today?

After using Qingkou's medicine,

I feel much better.

That's good.

You'll compete tomorrow.

How confident are you?

Don't worry, Xu.

If I really can't win the match,

I've asked Zhizhou

to compete for the Wolf Lord position.

I won't let the military power fall into Xi Changkun's hands.

No.

This is not right.

Lie,

the Wolf Lord of Beixuan can only be you.

In the entire Beixuan,

I only trust you.

Rest assured, Xu.

Lie, you can also rest assured.

Though your eyes aren't fully healed,

I believe they'll get better tomorrow.

You'll definitely win.

Lie,

I know this match is full of dangers,

but don't forget

the will of the late King

and Mr. Xuan Shu are on our shoulders.

Also, Mr. Sun supports you.

Only if we work together

can we develop Beixuan well.

In this match, you must protect yourself

and do your best to win.

Rest assured, Xu.

I'll do my best.

Alright.

Let's not disturb Lie's rest any longer.

Let's go.

Lie, rest well.

I'll come tonight for your medicine.

(Yuchen Palace)

Jun Feifan hasn't set off yet?

Yes.

There have been fewer letters from the scout recently.

The secret guards we sent

haven't shown up either.

If the scout shows signs of betrayal, they mustn't be spared.

Your Majesty,

the Chancellor is waiting outside for your order.

Let him in.

The Chancellor may come in.

Greetings, Your Majesty.

Your Majesty,

this is the New Year's greeting letters

sent by the local yamens this year.

Good.

Come on. Come here.

How do you like my plum blossoms and snow?

Plum blossoms lack snow's pure glow,

yet their fragrance outshines the winter's snow.

You've brought out the competition between blossoms and snow.

It's wonderful.

Look.

You're the best at making me happy.

Your Majesty,

what I'm saying is from the heart.

Everyone in the court knows

your paintings

are top-notch.

Any new interesting things

recently in the city?

I heard that the Savory Tavern has a new tea.

It's said to be very good.

Scholars have all been rushing to try it.

Your Majesty,

would you like to go and taste it?

Prepare the carriage. Let's go now.

Yannan's current prosperity is all thanks

to your efforts to boost the economy

by valuing merchants and opening trade.

You even tax the merchants.

The market is thriving, and the treasury is full.

I didn't expect Jun Feifan

to be disguised by Jun Qiluo.

She's deceived us for years,

and now she's in Beixuan doing business.

What a capable woman.

Indeed.

She's very bold too.

She even secretly let the Beixuan caravan

trade with us.

I heard from the caravan

that Jun Qiluo is now famous in Beixuan.

She's even helping the Xuan Leader

to fight for the Wolf Lord position.

How bold.

Qingming,

these are the gifts I've prepared for you.

What's the meaning of this?

I said I have good news to tell you.

Qingming,

I like

you.

After thinking it over,

I think you are no longer suited

to be my servant.

On the Spring Festival,

I gave you a kiss as a reward,

so now you belong to me.

These are the betrothal gifts I've prepared for you.

I want to marry you.

You all may leave.

- Yes. - Yes.

Princess,

though your status is high in Beixuan,

I am from Yannan.

I don't need to fool around with you.

I'm not fooling around.

If I marry you,

no one in Beixuan will bully you.

I don't need that.

For Miss Qiluo, I can endure any grievance.

So, is all of this

just for Jun Qiluo?

You have

no feelings for me at all?

I thought you knew.

General Lie, you blindfolded yourself.

Are you mocking

the rest of the clans?

General Lie can still beat you like this.

Little men like to use dirty tricks.

General Lie doesn't need to see that.

If you have the guts, you should compete fairly.

Stop using tricks.

The match begins.

- Yes. - Yes.

This is the final match of this year's Hunting Event.

It's the territory exercise.

Each clan sends ten warriors and their leaders

to participate.

There will be no eliminations in this round.

The first to plant the flag on the hill

within an incense stick of time

will win.

Currently, the Xuan, Luo, and Xi

have won an equal number of plaques.

The Clan Leader that wins this round

will become the Wolf Lord of Beixuan.

General Lie,

your injury is not fully healed.

Stay close to me and Mr. Luo.

We'll make sure you win this round.

Rest assured, Mr. Sun.

My eye injury has improved a lot.

Everyone, stay alert.

- Yes. - Yes.

Protect the general.

My Lord, I've gathered all the Death Warriors.

We'll definitely kill Xuan Lie today.

Mr. Xi,

while they are surrounded,

we can rush to the hill to plant the flag.

The Wolf Lord position will be ours then.

Xuan Lie killed my son.

I must watch him die.

Be careful.

Qiluo, why are you here?

I'm here to help you.

Give me the bow.

Qiluo, you're amazing.

Xi Changkun must've

set a trap here.

It may be hard to break through.

The bamboo forest nearby also leads to the finish line.

Why don't we change our route?

Mr. Sun is right.

Lie,

you and Mr. Sun go through the bamboo forest.

I'll stay here to intercept Xi Changkun.

Can you handle it alone?

Don't worry.

Xi Changkun can't harm me.

Then it's settled.

Let's change route now.

Let's go.

He Jiyao, you stay to help Mr. Luo.

Yes.

They escaped again.

Mr. Xi,

let's go plant the flag.

We can deal with Xuan Lie later.

They must've gone to the bamboo forest.

You take a group of men to intercept them.

I'll plant the flag.

Yes.

General Lie, be careful.

We'll be turning ahead.

Mr. Xi has given an order.

100 liang of gold for anyone who kills Xuan Lie.

Yes.

Father, time is running out.

You go plant the flag. We'll cover the rear.

Okay.

Be careful.

Lower your head!

Mr. Sun, are you alright?

I'm fine. General Lie, go grab the flag.

Sure.

Father...

The general is in danger.

Go help the general.

Yes.

Father, why are you lying here?

Get up!

Father, the last match is almost over.

Wake up!

Get up! Don't lie here.

Father.

Father, get up!

Father.

Don't lie here.

Father.

Get up, Father.

Father, get up!

Father.

Please get up.

- Get up, Father. - Zhaomin.

- Mr. Sun is gone, Zhaomin. - Father, get up.

We still have the match, Father.

Zhaomin, Mr. Sun is gone.

Go away.

Father, please get up. I beg you.

I'm begging you, Father.

Get up!

- Stop him. - Yes.

Young Master.

How is Mr. Sun?

Young Master?

Mr. Sun... He's dead.

What did you say?

Mr. Sun is...

He's dead.

Go.

Mr. Luo,

Xuan Lie no longer has a chance.

If you help me get the Wolf Lord position,

I'll make sure to treat you well.

Mr. Xi, no need for more words.

Even if the Wolf Lord position isn't meant for Lie,

it won't be yours either.

Mr. Luo,

you've gone to great lengths to stop me.

Do you also want the Wolf Lord position?

Xuan Lie,

you're really a lucky one.

Xi Changkun,

you set up a trap to kill me,

but you killed Mr. Sun instead.

You don't deserve to be Beixuan's Wolf Lord.

What are you saying?

Sun Ba is dead?

What does it have to do with me?

Young Master, time is running out. Plant the flag!

(Xuan, Xi, Luo, Sun, Su)

Have you seen Qingkou?

Your Majesty,

the Princess

had a huge argument last night with that Yannan slave.

In a fit of anger, she went back to the Palace overnight.

She loves lively events.

Why isn't she watching the final match?

Never mind.

I feel more at ease that she's at the Palace now.

She won't be entangled with that slave anymore.

Your Majesty,

General Lie has won the match.

Good, good.

Lie didn't disappoint us.

Congrats, Your Majesty.

Spread my order:

I'll hold a banquet tonight

to celebrate the successful conclusion of the event.

Your Majesty,

Mr. Sun died in the bamboo forest.

I've fulfilled my duty

and won the Wolf Lord position.

You can now rest in peace.

Zhaomin.

- Why are you here? - Zhaomin.

I'm here to pay respects to Mr. Sun.

No need for your fake sympathy.

It's you who killed my father.

I want to avenge my father.

- Zhaomin. - Zhaomin, calm down.

Qiluo, let go of me.

It's him who killed my father.

I'm going to kill him!

Zhaomin.

Zhaomin.

I'm going to kill him.

Killing a Clan Leader is a great crime.

I don't care. I'm going to kill him.

Zhaomin,

think about your clan.

If you die, what will happen to the Sun Clan and Mrs. Sun?

Zhaomin.

My Lord.

What's wrong?

We've found the clue to the old soldiers we've been searching for.

Where?

In the forest where Xuan Lie disappeared.

By the time our people arrived,

they were gone.

Could it be that Xuan Lie

hid them away?

Xuan Lie has always had doubts about Xuan Shu's death

and has been investigating in secret.

If he finds these old soldiers,

he'll bring up Xuan Shu's case again.

Now that Xuan Lie is the Wolf Lord,

after the Sacrifice Ritual,

we must hand over the Military Token,

and he won't be afraid of anything.

If he uncovers the truth from back then,

our clan will be in great danger.

These people cannot be left alive.

Keep an eye on them.

Once you find where they're hiding,

kill them all.

Yes.

Father.

I heard Sun Zhaomin is going to kill you.

It's okay.

She can't hurt me.

Father,

at this Hunting Event,

both my brother

and Mr. Sun died.

I'm afraid you'll be in danger.

Don't worry.

I'm fine.

I have to avenge your brother.

Father.

Jun Qiluo and General Lie

have never admitted that my brother's death

is related to them.

I'm afraid

if we pursue this further,

it will cause more trouble.

Father,

let's not fight with them anymore.

Let's go back to our clan and live in peace, okay?

Father,

I no longer have a brother.

I can't lose you too.

Okay.

As you wish.

After the Sacrifice Ritual, we'll go home.

That's great, Father.

Your parents devoted their lives to Beixuan.

(In Memory) They were great heroes.

They were by Yannan's weapons.

Once you become the Xuan Leader

and help Xu unify the Five Clans,

then you will have the chance to avenge your parents.

Congrats on becoming the Wolf Lord.

The highest place is always cold.

The higher the place, the colder it is,

and the fewer people can accompany you to the top.

When you climb to a higher position,

you must pay the price.

This price may be someone else's life.

I hold a high position,

but there are many things I can't help with.

I hope you

never have to experience this.

(Father,)

(I've finally fulfilled your last wish.)

Are your eyes feeling better?

Qingkou's medicine is really effective.

I'm fine now.

Mr. Sun's funeral has been arranged.

I'll spend more time with Zhaomin these days.

Mr. Sun died because of me.

I must give Zhaomin

and the Sun Clan an explanation.

Don't blame yourself too much.
