Phil: Previously on "the amazing race"... in the exotic
city of tangier teams rocked the cafpa but mistakes were
made. - I may have just caught a
break.
And forgot a gnome. - And advantages why wr
gained. - Last two at the roadblock
and need this so I'm not going to say anything.
Phil: Exhausting day took a toll on set Rick.
- Sounds like somebody is hurling over there.
- Are you all right, man?
- There's time.
- Dropping team slam dunk to the back of the pack.
- I'm not done.
We're not done. You'll have to drag me out of
here, Phil. Phil: Team Yale and team
indycar raced for the checkered flag and in the end brains beat
out brawn.
- Evan, team number one. Phil: Cedric and Shawn couldn't
recover and came in last. - Tough day.
Phil: But received some good news.
- Just put some more time on the clock.
You guys are still in this race.
Phil: Nine teams remain.
Who will be eliminated next?
[Captioning made possible by comcast entertainment group]
Phil: Henry and Evan came in first place and won a trip for
two from travelocity. - This hotel looks awesome.
Look at the lobby.
- So pretty. - Looks like we will be well
taken care of.
- Going fon an awesome trip. - We're going to Zurich.
- That's right.
- Do you know the way to Saint-tropez?
Phil: Teams are leaving tangier Morocco.
Flying over the mediterranean sea to the south of France.
After arriving in niece and driving along the coastline of
the French riviera they will make their way to Saint-tropez.
A playground for the rich and famous.
When they arrive they will find their next clue here at base
nordique. - There's a driver inside this
one.
- Hello, sir.
- I think initially other teams thought that we were a
purely brainy team. And we wouldn't be able to
compete on a physical plane.
But winning first place on leg number three was confidence
building for us.
Ready to get my tan on. - Tangier airport, please.
- Go to Saint-tropez.
- Weem think because we are Asian drive the self-drive will
be a huge advantage but we have to follow the same laws as
everyone. - Speed limits are incredibly
...- important.
- Unfair.
But we have to obey them completely.
- Rules. Fun.
- We have a decent idea of thousand drive.
- Turn left. - As pro athletes we both do
well under pressure but you become addicted to adrenalin.
- We're not turning left.
- It's one way.
- It's healthy.
And antsy pants.
- My French is trebian.
I wouldn't put a tre on the beginning of that.
- We're going to Saint-tropez. - You can walk with your shirt
off there.
- I honestly don't know what it is.
- It's Ireland.
- You know that dionne Warwick song... you should know it
you're from San... - do you know the way to
Saint-tropez? Fly to nice.
- People in France go there to vacation.
- Hopefully we won't end up in speedos for power sake and for
the audience's sake.
- I don't know why you're stressing.
- Because we're crawling.
- And people are... stress.
- After nine years of a relationship and people start
saying hey, why doesn't he want to marry you, it kind of gets
to you. - Look at this.
- I'm not stressing. - Paper towels.
- My far doesn't really think that Lucas is interested in
going down that road. - This is a great opportunity
to show her family that I love her so much.
And I want to be with her.
- Try to find where we are so we know where we're going.
- The last leg we hit a speed bump and for us it looks like
we're all booked on the same flight.
Me being 48 years old and haven't had three heart attacks
before, no way in the world you can prepare yourself for the
race. To the 29 other season
participants that I've been yelling at my television.
I'm so sorry. I apologize.
It is harder than it looks. - Central play.
Oh, we, this is beautiful.
- My man diddy talking about it all the time.
Can't wait to get there and see what the big deal is all about.
- Run. -
- there they are.
- Come on. Come on.
- Go, go, go.
- Ok.
There you go. - Drive yourselves to
Saint-tropez. - Great job.
- That was stressful.
- And was probably the right way.
And 62... - we're going the wrong way.
It says aav.
We don't need to do that. Wull turn it around.
- The day before I left my wife had a baby and be with him
that night but had to leave early that morning for the
race. So the... the money would be a
game changer for us.
We're here for the kids back home.
- I don't know how to put this thing in reverse.
This isn't good.
- Eric, you might get out and push this thing back, man.
Put it in neutral.
And let's... - come on.
- I really can't figure out the reverse on this thing.
- Come on. - This is like calling me.
I want to go up there.
I know we're going in the water.
But I want to go up there.
- Don't smile your way through the turn.
- I raced in this part of the world for about six years.
So I've driven this road a lot. - This is our leg.
- This is absolutely amazing.
Let's move here.
- No.
- Ok.
Unless they got the constitution and a bill of
rights rights and all that. - Parking.
- Are we the first ones here?
- I think so.
There's speed bump. Let's do this.
Who's ready... Phil: At this time of year on
the French riviera, Saint-tropez hosts an annualry
gata that showcases the most beautiful racing yauts in the
world but before sailing one of these ocean-going vessels you
have to learn how to sail on one of these.
More children have learned to sail on an optimist than any
boat on the planet. In this roadblock teams will be
thrown in the deep end as they attempt to sail this petite
dingi without a lesson. If they can stay afloat, and
pick up two halves of a clue, tied to these buoys, they can
return to their partner and choose a detour.
- Kristi, you got this.
- From the marked bin. - Let's do this.
- It's beautiful!
- Oh, my god.
This is amazing.
- We're the first team here. - You got this.
- We're not the first. - Who's ready to break wind?
- I am.
- Go the right way.
Ok. - The wind direction here.
- We beat... - yay!
- Yeah, kristi.
- Woo! - Let's go.
- I'm going to sail the hell out of this.
I'll tell you what. - Oh, boy.
- All right, kristi. - This looks extraordinarily
difficult.
- Oh, no.
Come on.
- It's going to be hard. - This is going to be fun.
- Oh, boy. - A bit choppy out here.
- Oh, my gosh. - What is he doing?
- Just did something.
- This looks like the Titanic of Saint-tropez.
- This is hard.
- That's a long way out there. - That's really far.
- Who's ready to break wind? - I'll do it.
- Good job, kristi!
- I think she's figuring it out.
There's like forward progress happening.
- I think... - oh, yeah.
Look at that. She's ruddering.
- Look at this.
- Woo! - She's sailing!
- Hey, guys. - Hey.
- Hi, darling. - What's up?
Good job. - What do we have here?
- You don't want to know.
It took them 15 minutes just to leave the shore.
- Is that him right here?
- Probably thinks he's doing it right but he's not.
- Yeah, Alex.
That's good.
- And that's kristi out there by the first buoy.
- Oh, my god.
- She's there. - Not here...
- they're not here.
- Interesting. - Just do it... you're
driving.
- Come on, buddy.
She's so close. - My first clue.
- Good job, kristi!
- Is there another team here?
- Grab a sail from the marked bin.
- Yale's here. - Babe, you're going to kill
this. I'll massage you later.
- So this is that Saint-tropez everybody has been talking
about.
- I see sailboats. - What we got, what we got?
We're getting close.
- That's it. - Look.
- That's... I don't know.
- Unless you want to look for ...
- no.
- Let's get back in. - Get back in the car and look
for something else. - Going this way or this way?
- We're heading north again. So if I turn around one more
time... so find somewhere where we can get out.
- Eric.
- Just go right. - That's it.
- Where did you turn off?
- Babe, come on now. Come on, babe.
Help me find where I need to go.
Come on.
God.
So annoying.
Your only job is to get me to the other zone.
Let me go to the gas station and you can ask.
- We talked about this.
- Good job, kristi!
Yeah, kristi! - Hopefully in the shore is
easier. - Let's go.
- Oh, gosh.
- Oh, no.
- I shouldn't be... - all right.
- The direction. - You got this.
- Come on, Alex. - Woo!
- Yeah.
- Keep going, Alex!
- Nice freaking job, kristi! - Rock star.
- That was impressive. - Use the wind.
- This is be a sushed. - I think it takes some trial
and error.
- Alex, that's the wrong way.
- We got so close and Alex is going further away.
- I hope he's not coming back here with half a clue.
- Great job, kristi. You just slayed that.
- All right. Let's go out.
Oh, yeah. Nice.
You got it. - Oh, my god.
- You're ok. You're ok.
- Oh, man. - We have our clue in two
pieces. All right.
Detour. Phil: 10 brilliant of these
irresistibly baggetts, they must use 30 pounds of dough to
make 50 traditional baggetts to the satisfaction of the master
Baker.
Here in Saint-tropez the rondini family have been making
the classic Saint-tropez sandal since 1927.
Something teams will now do under the watchful eye of Mr.
Rondini who will assure they meet his very high standards.
- You want to head to the vehicle?
- We're going... - good luck, you guys.
We'll see you soon. - Bye.
Good luck.
- I doubt it.
[Laughter] - All right.
I need the map of the city. - He's going the wrong way.
So... - oh, my gosh.
- He's coming back.
With only half a clue.
- Are you serious? Only half...
- yeah.
He did not go to the second buoy.
- Such a huge waste of time. - Trevor will do it.
- You're doing it? Ok.
- He's way too far off course. He's blown back to shore.
- Nice save! - Oh, my gosh.
Alex. - Ok?
- That's really frustrating. Because we had such a lead.
- The details do seem to be our biggest problem.
I just didn't read the clue.
- It just takes seconds. - Normally when you read a
sentence you summarize and you're right.
But here every single it and each and of makes a really big
difference. - Or both.
- You must get both clues. - Enough.
Thank you.
Yeah. - The clue from both buoys
apparently. Oh, my lord.
- Violinists just got here.
- We just lost a huge gap. - Lucky 13.
- Oh, god. This is really painful.
- All right. I'll do it.
Let's do it.
- I think you can do this. Here.
- I hate this. This is horrific.
- You came down here already.
This is where we turned the first time.
And we talked about the damn gas station again.
We're going the wrong way.
- We can't make these type of errors and stay in.
I'll be very surprised if we are able to pull out of this
one.
- All right. - Do you have a map map?
We weep doing this. Come on.
- Why did you do this? - Come on.
Come on.
- I'm doing this because this is the way you're treating me.
Right?
- I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
- Asked you a million times not to do this to me.
- I messed up there and apologized to her and that's
how relationships work. - We're learning from each leg
of the race.
- How to work better together. I'm sorry, sweetie.
- To make him suffer just a little bit longer.
- Coming in for the draft. Time your pump out.
- Cody seems to have figured it out.
- This is crazy. - Does he have it?
Does he have it?
Yes.
- Let's go.
- You're doing so good, babe.
- Come on, Evan. - I haven't gone forward at
all.
I have just gone to the side. This is so frustrating.
What is this doing? Oh, man.
I feel like I'm barely moving.
- Keep it up, Evan.
- This is so frustrating!
- Not prepared for this. - Damn it.
- Don't forget to concentrate. - That was not effective.
Joey is taking on some water. - Come on, Joey.
- Oh, man. - You're good at this stuff.
I know you are. I know you're going to do this.
- Coming in hot. - Can you get it?
- I think he did, yeah.
- So good, babe. - All right.
- You got this, Evan.
- No, no, no.
I feel so dumb right now. Damn it.
Oh, my god. Every time I move the sail, it
blows me the wrong direction. Am I stuck on something?
- You're real smart you'll figure it out.
- Speed bump.
- Speed bump.
- Stack them high. Phil: Because Cedric and Shawn
arrived last in the previous leg they must now complete a
speed bump moving 15 of these optimus boats.
Once they have stacked them in numerical order they can
continue racing with the other team.
- Ok.
Find the boats that need to be stowed near a dock.
Right here, ced.
- These are the racks. Stow 15 boats in numeric order
left to right.
So one, two, three, all right.
- Oh, my god.
We're stacking boats. - Quick.
- Speed bump was basically to move a little sailboat from the
beach to the shelf. - Go ahead.
Go ahead. I got you.
- And put them in numerical order.
- It was perfect for us. It was just pure, hard manual
labor.
All right.
Easy. Stacking them up.
- And I don't do manual labor jobs anymore.
- It was tedarrius but we had to bear... tedious but we had
to bear down and do it. - Trevor is currently rowing
the boat instead of saiing the boat.
Trevor is kind of getting close to the buoy.
And I don't think this is the way the roadblock was intended
to be done. But if he gets that clue, on
that sailboat, I'm all about it.
- This is not smooth sailing as it were.
- Yeah.
- Looking good, man. Looking good.
- I think I got it.
I think I got it. - Joey figures something out
right now.
- Woo! - Joey Chestnut.
- Yes. Trevor, come on.
- Come on, Joey. - I think he's got this.
- I think he got it. He's right.
He's touching the thing.
- Just going.
- Evan is kind of struggling.
She is about 20 feet from shore.
And seems to have no idea what she's doing still.
- I'm literally not moving.
- I guess there's no sailing class at Yale.
And hopefully, you know, this just goes on and on forever.
Hope that Phil takes the boat out to her and tells her, ok,
going to shore. - I'm paddling as hard as I
can and just motte moving.
- I think you'll figure it out.
- I totally believe in you.
You ok? - Just broke my tooth.
- You broke your tooth?
No, no, no. - It's choppy and I was trying
to control the sail.
And the boom just caught me right in the mouth.
- You want to come back? - I put my hand, my face, and
what I came down I just saw a big chunk of tooth.
And I dropped in the ocean. And tried to just keep going.
- My only thought was wow, she's really tough.
But I already knew that.
- Oh, no.
- She looks amazing. Cutest chip ever.
- Ok.
Take two. - Port.
- We're good, we're good.
- Bon jour.
- Can we make some sandals?
- Mesi.
- I feel ok about this right now.
Ok. - This has to come through
here. Underneath and over top.
- The direction for the tread challenge is to assemble a pair
of sandals. The bottom of the sandal and
the top of the sandal and that's what it should look
like. Attention to detail.
- This is really tough to get through.
- I missed one little loop over here.
- It's right there.
- All right. All right.
- Oh, gosh.
- Let's do it. - Let's put on the uniform.
- Show us the proper way to make the baggett of the
- the first step of the bread making make... dough rectangle.
- And cut it in an area where you think is between 340 and
360 grams.
- And you just had to roll it inside... you had to make it
look good.
- All right. That's it.
- Good choice, guys. - Babe, we're making baggetts
in France.
- I don't even know what a backette is.
- Oh, I fool like a good baggettist.
- Yay, Trevor. - Come on, Joey.
Yeah. Man.
Woo!
- Let's see team Yale here.
- Ok.
- Tussling... - focus.
Focus.
- Bumping you... - bumping me.
- Yeah.
- Why are you bumping me?
- Bumping you before.
Knock it out of the park. - The damn boats...
- thank you. - Really prepare for that
speed bump. - Our size can actually be an
advantage.
Or a big disadvantage depending on what the situation or
challenge is. - I'm ready to break wind.
- Are you sure?
- Yes. - Go, ced.
Let's go, baby. - Oh, my god.
A little kid. Boats.
- Never sailed before but i got to knock this out for me
and my teammates. To get back in this thing.
- Who's ready to break wind? - Shoe is she doing?
- She's starting to get the hang of it.
- After trying several times unsuccessfully to paddle to the
first buoy I fgged to go out far down to the left so that
the wind would catch me and kind of pull me diagonally to
the far right buoy. - The wind is blowing this
way.
- Real choppy out there. - Yeah.
- Way to go, baby. Try to go at the first...
- it's all you, babe.
- And starting the roadblock.
Thankfully it's a water challenge.
And this... two other teams here.
One hasn't shown up here yet. So that makes me a little bit
more optimistic that... than when I thought originally.
- I just got to tack right and get away from the shallow
spots.
- Good job, luck ags.
- Come on, baby. Come on, baby.
I see you.
- That boat wasn't made for us and too bad these boats...
- Cedric, boat capsizing.
- The boat got too much water in it.
And about to sink.
- As a lifeguard I feel compelled to help him right
now.
- Too big for the boat.
- He can figure it out.
- There's no way.
That boat is too small for him, man.
- I've seen big guys like that do it, though.
- Too heavy. - He's got to do it.
He can do it. - No, he can't.
- He can't keep his Lex out. He's got...
- too hard, man. There's no way.
- It's possible. He just has to stay in the boat
and finish. - You got it, Lucas.
You're my awesome water man.
I love you. - And no matter what happens,
just don't give up. And still two teams here.
One team hasn't even shown up.
- High roadblock has been pushing you backward all day.
- Great job, Evan. - Right now a race with Evan.
She's got one half of the clue. - Come on, baby.
- Come on. - People still here.
- Come on, come on.
- Everything quick.
- It ain't over until it's over.
- We have 30 done. - That's good.
- What does that mean? - Ok.
- What is he telling us now? - You have to roll... but
that's exactly what we were doing.
He did this.
- Did you get that?
- No.
I had no idea.
- Stop getting frustrated. - What do you want me to do?
- Make that. - I hate not being able to do
things. So if I'm not succeeding at
something I just hate it immediately.
- This is so stupid. - We can chase that... I want
it so bad.
- Just got to hammer some nails, girl.
- Yeah.
- That was not a good nail right there.
- All right, kristi. I'm done unless they tell me
that this one is not pulled through enough.
- Ok.
- Ok.
- So our nail heads didn't go in quite flat enough.
So we're going to try this again.
- All about the details. - Come on, Lucas!
- Almost there, Evan.
- Look like he got the last part of the clue.
- Oh, my god.
She's so close. - Great job, Evan.
You got it. - Let's go, Daniel, let's go.
- Oh, man. - We aren't doing so well.
- Come on. - I don't know how to say it
right.
- Come on, ced.
- He's struggling. Trying to paddle a kid boat.
This is... this is tough, man.
- Oh, oh, where's my brother at?
- Oh, my god.
He's way out of the way.
- I'm not even getting... - he's in the Bermuda
triangle. He's stuck in that corner over
there and hasn't really made any progress since we've been
here. - They got... got to be a way
to do it and had no idea where to start.
This is ridiculous. - This is tough to watch, man.
It's like a murder. Like a murder scene out there.
Oh, my god. There's no way.
- Man, that's tough. - Sinking again.
- No!
- Tipped again.
- It's a wrap. Man.
- Let's go, Daniel.
- Crm on, ced... come on, ced. How you doing?
Some food?
- Don't give up. Let's go.
- And haven't gotten to any of the buoys yet.
Cedric has been out there for a while so we're fighting for
last. - Come on, Daniel.
- Trying to figure this thing out.
- Come on. - Keep going forward.
- All right. Come on.
Just back and forth like a cork for a while.
And finally it clicked that i had to keep it at an angle and
...where it was catching the wind.
And it was actually fun after that.
- Might have learned to sail.
- Daniel, good job.
Keep going. Come on.
- Let's go, baby.
Let's go. - Ok.
Ok. Ok.
Get out there.
Get out there.
Use the wind. Use the wind.
Use the wind. - Out there on the water you
have to use technique.
It was fillal strength really had nothing to do with it.
- I see you, baby. I see you.
You're going the right direction.
He's geting it.
Ok. Look at him.
He's going. He's heading straight for it.
Oh, my god. I see you, buddy.
And got the hang of it a little bit.
- Just the technique and the right timing of the wind.
And that's all it takes.
- Captain ced. Captain ced.
- The other challenges are hard, you can really catch
somebody. - We don't know where we're at
with the teams. Nobody has come here.
- Ok.
- So trebien.
- Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
- I'm to go head to head.
Battle against another team and part of the French pastime
known as natonk.
Phil: French towns are famous for having beautiful squares
like this.
Today this idyllic park will not only serve as the pit stop
but also where teams will face a second head-to-head
competition on the amazing race.
Teams will face off in a high stakes game of patonk.
The winner checks in with me at the pit stop.
The loser must battle the next team to arrive.
The final head to head will end with elimination.
- Ok.
- Ok.
- Here we go again.
- We could go home.
- We have 50 done. - Starting with your first,
ask the Baker to show you how to roll out the baguette for
baking. - You've done this before,
huh?
- Really knocking them out.
- This could literally be for first place.
- Try to get a little more consistent.
- Seven baguettes left to roll.
- Ok.
You're getting them inspected right now.
- Cool.
- Ok.
- God. - And just goss their
inspected.
- We can do this.
We can play this game.
- Ok.
- Hello. - Bon jour.
- We chose to be cobblers today and make sandals.
- Ok.
- This is... yes?
- Oh, trebien... - Trevor is absolutely the
Martha Stewart of our apartment.
He's kind of like that Jackie of all trades.
- Gay. - He's gay.
- Yes. I was obsessed with Martha
Stewart.
- Hey, y'all.
- Come on, gilligan. Hold steady.
Woo!
- It's actually kind of fun like this.
It's amazing when you do something right.
- Come on, ced.
- Work it, work it, work it, work it, work it.
- There you go, baby.
There you go. - Come on.
Hurry up. - Good job.
Come on.
- Come on, baby. Come on, baby.
I see you.
I see you.
- Come on, captain ced.
- Land ho. Land ho.
- Get the boat to the shore. - We don't know what everybody
else is doing.
- Over here. You need to grab a number.
- One. Great.
- We're the first team here. - Woo!
- Bakery would have been warmer.
- Never seen a guy sweat so profusely.
- I drink a lot of liquids.
And it's part of my training for eating.
I keep my stomach stretched and loose for liquids even if I'm
not eating a ton of food so i get rid of water one way or the
other.
- Jeez Louise. - It's good?
- Good job, guys.
- Ok.
- Seems pretty easy.
- Hey, guys. - Oh, man.
- How are we doing against you?
- Yep. Let's just have some fun
playing yard games. - Right here.
- Ok.
- The object is to get your balls closer to the Jack than
your opponents. And each team member throwing
three balls per round.
After each throw, the team not closest to the Jack takes the
next throw. All right.
- Phil: Alex and Connor have
turned up so ready for our first head to head.
- This head to head was introduced to "the amazing
race."
And it really changes things because you can literally
arrive at the mat first and be eliminated.
- All right. I'll go.
- More than ever, anybody can ...
- takes one small mistake. - We have kristi and Jen right
now going up against Alex and Conor.
- Cody and Jessica.
Waiting for who they might be e playing next.
- Oh, that was terrible. - It's ok.
- Like this... - get it in there.
Oh, my gosh.
- Conor has come up short on his first throw.
Because he's short, he has to play his second ball.
- Nice.
- Alex and Conor took the lead.
Because Conor's ball is closest to the Jack it has forced
kristi and Jen to play. - That's way too left.
- Alex and Conor still have the have the lead.
- You got this, girl.
- Settle in, settle in, settle in.
- Oh, yeah.
- I believe in you, Jen. - Get in there, get in there.
Knock him out.
- Oh, yes! - Like...
- that's a beautiful shot. Not only did she hit the Jack.
But she actually drew the Jack away.
As long as their ball is closer to the Jack it forces Alex and
Conor to have to play.
- Oh, Conor. - Yeah.
- I've never played this game. Ever.
Phil: Conor has taken the lead again.
- All right, kristi. You're up.
Phil: Kristi and Jen have two more balls.
- No, no, no, no.
Get out of there. - Oh!
Phil: Kristi and Jen have one ball left.
- Get in there, get in there.
- Oh.
- White wins.
- Who knew I could throw metal balls.
- Let's get to the mat, eh?
- What's up, Phil? Phil: What's snup
- and lovely lady. - Welcome, friends.
Phil: Well, you are team number one.
And I do have some great news for you.
You got $5,000 each.
- Let's go!
Phil: And you can enjoy had a at the end of the race.
- My first win in many years.
- I love competition.
I had to deliver in the moment. And we did, thankfully.
So finally we can get a win.
- Congratulations. - Thank you, guys.
- Was anybody still at the... Sailing?
- Yale was right behind us.
- Is that good?
Oh, thank you.
Merci.
- Maybe I can sweet talk them into doing it for me.
- Hey, guys. - Bon jour.
Phil: After losing the first head to head, kristi and Jen
are now up against Cody and Jessica.
- Oh, that's going to be good. - Wow.
- Oh, my god.
Phil: Jessica has thrown a ball that is an inch away from the
Jack. - It's amazing.
Phil: After that incredible toss from Jessica, kristi and
Jen have to keep throwing their balls until they either knock
Jessica's ball out of the way or get even closer to the Jack.
- Too far. - Still here.
- Five.
Phil: Unless Jen can get the ball closer to the Jack,
they'll lose their second head to head.
- You're kidding me. That was a horrible bounce.
- White wins.
Phil: This is the second loss for kristi and Jen.
And tremendous frustration for them because they arrived here
first.
- Oh!
Phil: It's a very dramatic finish.
Cody, considering how well Jessica just played petanque
are you having a good time? - She just pulled out that
entire win for us.
- That was crazy, right? - I couldn't have done that.
- Yes. Yes?
- Oh, yes! - Great job, guys.
- Thank you. Thank you.
- You're killing it. Phil: After arriving first,
this is the third head to head for kristi and Jen who are
going up against Trevor and Chris.
- Yes! - That was pretty.
- Masterful. - Jen and I allowed ourselves
a few minutes to pout.
Then we just got over it because those are the rules of
the game. And we're ready for anything
that that "the amazing race"... Phil: Trevor and Chris have one
ball left.
- Ok.
That's embarrassing.
- Yes. Woo!
Oh, my gosh!
- Good job.
Phil: Man, that was crazy.
- You know, we're doing a lot of things right and we need to
continue to do that and hopefully we'll be here at the
end.
Phil: Thank you, guys.
Congratulations.
- Thank you. - Keep watching?
- No, I don't play ball games. Phil: Trevor and Chris having
just lost are now up against our competitive eaters.
Tim and Joey right now. Are closer to the Jack.
Trevor really is not... does not have a feel for this game.
He's trying all kinds of techniques.
Under arm, over arm.
Out of the game.
- Oh, Trevor.
You're killing us.
- Sports in general aren't one of the strengths that we have
in common.
- Black wins.
- Hey! Phil: Right out of the gate you
guys had a feel for the game. - And did our best and worked.
- Which is over there. - Nice.
Phil: Trevor and Chris have lost two rounds, and they are
going up against Lucas and Brittany.
- Good job.
Good job. Phil: Let's see if Trevor and
Chris have a better feel for the game this time.
- Oh sclasm - white... oh!
- White wins.
- My god, I love you.
Phil: Trevor and Chris, you are team number five.
- Thanks, Phil.
Phil: Which must feel good. - Doesn't feel as good as four
but we'll take it.
- I never sandals in my day. - New respect for shoe making.
Put your sole into it.
- You better hurry up because we're on your heels.
- Oh!
Phil: Lucas and Brittany are now facing their second head to
head. Going up against Henry and
Evan. - At the first head to head we
raced seven is times. - Oh, man.
- We were just worried about repeating what had happened in
Belgium.
Phil: Henry and Evan only have one ball left.
- It's so close. Phil: Measuring tape is going
out.
That's how close it is. - White wins.
- Good job.
Phil: Lucas and Brittany have now last their second head to
head. Your last head to head didn't
really go so well.
This one went a lot better for you today.
- Yeah.
We were one of the teams swooping in to take the spot
from the other team who had been waiting longer than us.
So, you know, I guess we paid for it in a way.
- Elimination is on the line right now.
- Yes. - We're changing the nails on
the sandals.
- Not tight enough.
Thank you.
Thank you.
- Nba guys just got it.
Not looking good for us.
- Oh, oh.
Let's go this way.
Let's go this way.
Come on.
We have to play a game. - Thank you.
Thank you.
- What's the name of it? - I can't even pronounce it.
- That's not it. - Got to be in the park over
here. - Where?
- This way.
- I really think we would have a better chance with the
firemen than the basketball players.
- All right. - Here comes the twins.
Come on, babe.
Let's do this.
- Let's give it a shot.
Phil: Lucas and Brittany are up with their third head to head.
If they lose this, they'll have only one more chance to stay in
in "the amazing race."
- Oh!
- Good job.
- No!
- Sockings.
I love these kind of games. They're so much fun.
- Oh!
- Try to knock it out of the way.
Phil: Brittany and Lucas have one more chance, one more ball
to throw. - Babe.
- White wins.
- Oh!
Phil: Brittany and Lucas have only one more chance to stay in
this race.
And Brittany is beside herself. The head to head what do you
think of it?
- In our position it's the golden key.
Phil: Lucas and Brittany right now are consoling each other.
- It has to be demoralizing to come ahead of us and lose in
this one thing. - It is brutal.
- You can cry. - I'm over it.
- I'm over it. - Come on, babe.
We got this.
It will be fine.
- I think the vase more of a mental game, you know?
- You'll be fine.
- Just been a long, exhausting, frustrating day.
I just want to get it over with.
I think... I think of myself as a thoroughbred whose spirit has
been broken from losing too many times.
I'm very competitive. - Come on.
It's not over.
Let's do this.
- Here comes the basketball players.
- Head to head combat, huh?
- Hopefully we can beat them.
- Every single game we could have won.
Let's get it done.
- Let's play the game. Good luck, guys.
- You, too.
- Ok?
- I can't help it. - Team hoops, we got this.
- Game time. - Good job.
- Good shot. - Good shot.
- Let's see if Cedric can find his touch from the free-throw
line. - This is a soft toss.
That's not hard enough. And didn't put enough on it.
- We keep going until we get closer.
Let's go. - That's too far.
- Oh, don't do that. - The nba champion in 2011.
But we never played it before and still need to practice the
game. - Come on now.
- Oh... - messed that up.
- This is not basketball.
- Cedric is trying to come around the outside.
And he got the roll of the hill.
- Bam. We got it.
Phil: Nba have the lead.
This is last road from Brittany and Lucas.
- Oh!
Phil: Huge play from Lucas. Huge play.
Nba have two more shots left now.
- Black. Play.
- Now you got to get closest.
One more, dogg. - This is the last...
- get close. - Oh, my god.
- White, winner. - We won.
- Unbelievable.
Unbelievable comeback.
- Congratulations. - Good job, gigs.
- So sorry.
- That's ok. Phil: Cedric and Shawn, after a
final head to head, you have been eliminated.
Cedric, obviously you're disappointed.
- I wanted to win. I've been watching for 29
seasons and my whole family.
And I wanted to win.
We put on a great show and just came out on the losing end of
the race. I can't complain.
I'm not supposed to be here.
Guys blessed me to fulfill another dream.
- We got through it together.
And we win a team and lose a team.
Hurt to lose but at the same time we got to keep our head
high. Because you know, we competed.
And it was amazing. And I'm going to salute it.
- That's it.
- Drive to the medieval town of lebode provence, France.
Phil: Teams are leaving the stunning coastline of Southern
France and driving 120 miles inland to lebo.
Famous for its Roman ruins. Sleepy villages and
breathtaking landscapes inspiring famed artists like
Picasso and Van gogh. They will find their clue which
thi they may recognize from season one of "the amazing
race."
- Welcome to provence. - What the heck is that?
- We're driving again. Driving is one of our favorite
things to do. We're leading the pack.
That's obviously nice for us. - This is a race I've watched
since I was a kid.
I like the Indianapolis 500 and something that is incredibly
competitive all across the world.
So to be able to win would be awesome.
- Provence... province for those Americans watching.
- So we're headed to the les Beau chateau.
- He called it a lesbo chateau ...
- like lesbo or lesbax.
Something like that.
- Sounds right to me.
Definitely call it that when you get there.
- We take notes on lessons that we've learned and things
we can improve on so we need to continue learning from each and
every little mistake. And I think that will keep us
hopefully in front of the pack. - We're number one.
We're number one. - We're excited about this.
This is the first leg we haven't had to fly anywhere so
it's wake up and race.
The longer the race goes on the more we realize that we have to
worry about ourselves.
And the decisions we make.
- We're feeling good about how we improved and just hoping it
wasn't a fluke. We don't think it was.
- Time to be smart.
- We are getting better. So far.
- 2:38 right now in the morning.
- We are feeling sleepy. - And grumpy.
And bashful.
And all the... - all the dwarfs.
Which makes use... - drive to the medieval of les
baux, provence, France. - Good eats and good treats.
- We're living at 6:00 today which is not as well as we
would like to be doing. But honestly I'm so happy to be
in the race.
During the pit stop, I got my tooth fixed.
So I'm feeling brand new. We've only been dating for a
year and a half.
We're definitely learning new things about one another on
this race.
How focused and determined Henry can be.
- She is a total bad ass for keeping going through that
roadblock.
Even when she had her tooth literally knocked out.
She's going to be just as good in this one.
- Drive to the medieval town of les baux, France.
The race is way tougher than we would have thafflet.
But we deserve to be here.
And we like to do physical things so we need challenges
that are more in our faufer but we got what it takes to win.
- It seems really cool.
I don't think... - medieval festival.
- Yeah.
- And... - only...
- all right so now we have to figure out where that is.
- Let's go.
- And very frustrating leg for me specifically.
And that's something I got to work on.
Trying to control my frustration and not really
taking it on Brittany.
But subcommittee is understanding and that is why I
...but she is understanding and that's why I love her.
- You don't stay together if things don't work.
We've had our ups and downs and made the conscious decision
that no matter what, we still want to be together.
There's no better match for me out there.
- She's the one I want to marry and the one I want to be
with. And my plans were to propose to
her somewhere on this trip. And I'll definitely know when
the right moment is.
- On... honey, I love you. - Chateau...
- I'm from Indiana for a reason.
They call me Indiana Jones. - I can check off... walk
through a castle city at 4:30 in the morning off my bucket
list. - It's actually pretty bad
ass.
- Oh, it's closed. - 8:30.
- You got to be freaking kidding me.
- This is cool.
- For another day. - Hey...
- about time.
- Welcome to the party.
- So what time do we have to wait until?
- 8:30.
- Shut the front door. You guys, we're going to get to
watch the sunrise from here.
- 8:30.
Only four hours to go.
- Everyone is going to get here eventually.
But we're first.
Yay.
- More beautiful than this.
- And how lucky we are to be up with the sun.
Medieval France.
- Tre Jolie. - My goodness.
- He opens the gate. - Bon jour.
- Oh, my god!
- Oh, my gosh. - Merci.
Sblveragets my goodness.
- Oh, my god.
- Oh, boy. Look at this.
- What is that?
- Oh, what are we doing? - What the hell...
- miersi!
...Merci! - My goodness.
- Can't feel my hands. - Roadblock.
- Wants to go on this roadblock...
Phil: Hard to imagine now but les baux was once the site of
bloody battles that date back more than a thousand years.
When weapons like this launched enormous 200-pound boulders at
the invaders. In this roadblock, teams must
use these materials to make this iconic weapon.
And then transport it to a soldier to ensure it's battle
ready.
They better be quick. Because their partner will be
held in the stock aids until they get it right.
- I think I'm good.
- All right. I'll do it.
- You want to do it? - I think you should do it.
- Eric?
- I will.
- I'll do it.
- Am I doing it? - You should do it.
- I'm going to do this roadblock.
- Oh, boy. - Look at this.
- Medieval castle. - Holey moley.
- Holy cow.
- That's... - that's really cool.
- Holy... - that's connected.
- Just choose one of these.
- Is this a work station?
- I claim this one as mine.
- Oh, hi.
Manhandled. - What is this?
- What's going on? - This is fun.
Ok. - Crsh phobia... crash folk
yafment - oh, my god.
Not at all cool.
- And some stock today.
- My life is on the line.
No pressure.
- I feel like... - looking at the... figure out
how to build it.
- Like a catapult. Just like that.
- And a good look at the example every now and then.
But being in the stock aid makes me even more invested in
his success.
- Ok.
- Have to move this stuff around.
It's heavy. - Looking at all the pieces
and making sure I got the right ones.
- And experienced builder. - Precision.
- Come on, baby. Good job.
- My my hands are freezing.
- Luck sass really good at putting things together.
He built a purgola for a friend's wedding.
- I knew I would build the frame and then the real support
goes in specific spots. - And super glad that he's
doing this and not me.
So cold.
- Wants to build houses after this race.
So if he can build a house, he can build a catapult.
I hope. - Time for...
- a damsel in distress right now.
- He needs to build this catapult so he can save me.
- Time for... - working the wall.
- Kristi was clever in her use of the materials.
And her attention to detail.
Because you had to do things in a specific order.
In order to make a treb boucher.
This roadblock was one girl versus seven men.
- Jen and I are very used to competing against the men.
When we started in our sport, there was no women's division.
So we have been fighting for women's involvement in sport
our entire career.
So there's no backing down. - Kristi, she's getting all
the pieces right... I have a feeling getting any of these
pins out is going to be virtually impossible.
- I don't know if can I get this out.
- If someone is to buy a piece of Ikea furniture Chris is
never the one to assemble it. - Oh, man.
That's not going to come back up.
- Words of encouragement.
- Trevor was very encouraging in a specific way.
- Focus, focus.
- Concentrate. - The other teams are like
focus.
Concentrate.
- It worked, kristi. - Good job, Jen.
- And someone is like you're doing such a good job.
Good girl.
- Who does that help?
That saccharine crap? - Don't take it so seriously.
- We're having fun.
- I'm clapping for you.
- That thing up here.
- Very uncomfortable.
- Normally I'm the builder of the daly household so hopefully
he can figure this out. - He'll pull it off.
- Nope.
I'm not mechanically inclined person.
But the put together a lego once.
I'm happy to be in my century.
- Which one... - I don't know.
I'm not sure. And...
- don't mess up. There has to be an order in
which you put things together.
- I'm trying, man. I'm trying.
- And how do you know you're invested in the stock market?
- Oh, yeah.
Get it up there.
Looks great with that hammer. - A lot of pounding.
- We don't normally have to build a ton of things other
than... I can't say it's that similar.
Stuck here until he gets it right.
- And I lose feeling and then you lose.
- Oh, wow. - Oh, wow!
- Holy crap. - Oh, my god.
- That's incredible. - Super cool.
- Finally made the right decision on who does the
roadblock for my position here. Looks like he's moving really
well. Maybe... and...
- two little pins. - You got it, baby.
- Can I get my work checked? - Ok.
- Going to double check everything.
- You're doing amazing.
- Inspected. - No good?
- Ah!
- Yeah.
This is backward. I notice on the bottom I put
them the opposite way.
So I went back and put them around and off to the races.
- Check. - Wow.
- Amazing. - Holey moley.
- Again. - Go, baby.
You got it, Lucas.
- Wait, wait.
- Good job.
- Ok.
Thank you.
- Good job!
- Luke's done. - Crap.
- Come on. I'll get you out of this thing.
- Good job, baby.
- Cat fay and ask a... the cafe and ask a man enjoying a
glass of red wine for the next clue.
- I got a rope I got to put on.
And I need mine inspected.
- Yeah.
- Yes, you got it. - Damn it.
- I'm on a cloud nine right now.
- Can't get my neck. Oh, my god.
- Come on. Pay attention.
Pay attention.
It's not comfortable to be in this little blockade.
And hard enough to watch... it looks like this is pretty close
to finishing. - Ready for a check.
- Give us the thumbs up. Give us the thumbs up.
- Woo! - Let me out of this damn
thing.
- That was a really good job.
- You got to check the thing real quick.
- I have to be doing this harder than it is.
This one is wrong and I put it in really hard.
Oh, man.
I don't know how I'm going to get that out.
- That could be bad. - Check.
- It looks like he's doing pretty good on this catapult
and hopefully he keeps moving.
- Yeah!
- Oh, yeah.
- Come on there. Come on.
- Holy crap. - Just put this thing on and
we're done. - Still plenty of people here.
Henry is close to being done. - Yes!
Good job, Jen.
- Oh, my elbows! - Let's go.
- Let's do it. - Yeah, buddy.
Figure that out.
Looks looks great, Christopher. You have your tetanus shots.
Don't be scared.
- I'm still pretty far away. - There goes my phone.
- That seemed like it worked.
- Tim can do it. Come on, Tim.
Doing great.
- A nightmare. - Cafe right here on the left.
It's a guy. - Enjoying a glass of wine.
- Are you enjoying your glass of wine?
- We have our next clue? - Yeah.
- Thank you. - Detour.
- Full of bull or colorful.
Phil: In this part of France bulls are celebrated in places
like alorini built by the romans almost 2,000 years ago.
The fraveragee version of bull fighting is quite different
than the Spanish one. Here, the bull fighter or
rasatouer enters the ring and tries to remove a picard from
the bull's horns. They search among bulls of
replica sizes to pick up a red, white and blue ribbon and
present them to the lead resatour for their next clue.
Vincent Van gogh, he created over 300 works here.
Including paintings of this bridge.
Which he painted six times over a six-week period.
The result, this iconic piece of art work which teams will
have to unlock. To get their next clue, easy
when you know how.
- Super be a tract and want to do full bull?
We're going to do full bull.
- We have to find someone to tell us where to go.
- Not even 100 meters. A man drinking a glass of red
wine. - How do we get to...
- the circle and get there?
- They're not drinking wine. - Can we have our next clue,
please? - Should I drive and you
navigate me?
- Full of bull it is.
- There are three teams left including us.
Which isn't super optimum.
But at least we're not the last team here.
- Prisoner here. And not to worry about taxes or
tending to my crops.
But it's cool.
Maybe I'll get out soon.
- Check. Far one.
- Ernest words of encouragement.
- Oui? - Oui.
- Damn it. - This is frustrating.
- Freed of the Liberty.
- Hurry up.
- You did really well. - My elbows...
- he doesn't look great. - And the example...
- can I get a check? - No, no.
- Not good, ok.
- Certainly things are loose.
- Having a hard time.
- This is killing me.
- All right. Check, please.
- No.
No. - There's a big glaring error
that you're not going to be able to get that bar in.
The thing is too narrow and have to find a way to make it
wider.
And there's no way I could tell you what was going on.
- There's always is something that you're missing I feel
like. But sadly I just don't know
what it is. - To be back.
God.
Just get in there.
- Just not putting it up right.
It's off a little bit.
- Wrong. - I don't know.
- Oh, my god.
This is torture.
- What the hell. - Unreal.
- You got this, Tim. - A little off.
Slide it over.
- Two teams left.
- Come on, Tim.
- Tim is having a hard time. Phil: During this race more
than we... - during this race we bonded
more than our 10 1/2-year friendship and frustrating to
watch but terrible position because I couldn't help them.
- You're a strong man, Tim.
- That hurt. - Nails are not supposed to be
there.
- I did the wrong thing. - It seems from what I can see
made a lot of mistakes. - How in the world?
- It got loose.
- Because of that. And I had not centered the
centerpiece perfectly.
And that affected how I placed the crossbar.
- It wouldn't line up flush as well.
- Looking good, Tim. Looking good.
- Check, please. - Thank you very much.
- Thank god that we're moving on.
- I'm sorry, Joey. - Pretty good.
- Cafe.
Thank you.
- Actually, the worst thing in the entire world.
Oh, my gosh.
You need wheel nuts to roll something.
Here we go. - All I needed was wheel nuts.
- Finally. My gosh.
Amazing what happens when you just do the right thing.
- I think we got it this time. Got all the wheel nuts on.
- Hello? - Thank you very much.
- Thank god. - Let's get out of here.
- That was tough.
- Thank god. - Today's roadblock was a
little bit different. And it was more lift and more
building. I like to see things go
together. And that was exactly how it had
to be done. So I think it played in hour
favor for sure on that. - Can't believe we're losing
to the lifeguards right now.
- Come on. Cafe de lafontaine.
- Ready to run?
- I'm ready to run.
- For our clue?
- Cafe de lafontaine.
- Good job, guys.
Good job. - I knew you were going to say
that because it's red, white and blue.
- There's a team... team Yale right there.
- Let's do colorful. - We're going to do colorful.
- Does it say marked parking?
- Park in the marked parking area.
- Park in the... - right to the right.
- To the right?
- Yes. - You see that tree, on that
tree? - Yes.
- And likes like something that way.
- That's an arena. - Let's go, let's go.
d - woo!
- Do you want to find the way to the top first?
- What if they're easy to find on the bottom?
- Let's make other teams have to go high.
- There it is. - Come on.
- Hang on. - I can't see.
d - wow.
Look how big it is. - Oh, my god.
- There's everywhere.
- And these cutout bulls with satchels and we had to find
three ribbons in these satchels.
These bulls were scattered throughout this entire arena.
We had to run all the way around the building.
We're looking everywhere. - Looking in the pocket and
pick only one flag. Red, white or blue.
- This way, this way.
- Come over here first.
Over here.
- Had to be different colors.
- One blue.
One red.
And one white.
- Right. - You got one?
- It's red.
- This is hard.
- Red. - Red.
- So this one is red.
We probably should go up a level.
- Red. - We got to go up high.
It's going to be up there.
- Kristi, let's separate from them.
You go down and up. - I'm just going to check this
little dude.
- They're going to be of different heights.
- White. - One more.
- We got to go up high.
On the inside.
- Look.
This one. - Berni!
- Lucas. - Come on, babe.
- Right here.
- It's going to be white or red.
We got to go up high. - We need blue.
- White or red.
Told you, we have to go up high.
- Sorry. - Do you have a clue for us?
- Let's do it. - You think so?
- Do you know how to do puzzles?
- I've never seen a Vincent Van gogh painting in my life.
- Shi we should do the... i think we should do colorful.
- Sucks to run, boys.
- Going from building catapults to fighting bulls.
- I've not been in the ring with a bull but I'm pretty
stoked about it.
- We do drive jet fighters on wheels so I feel like wrestling
everything we'll be all right.
- If I was a betting man, i would say this is the way.
- Thank god you're not a betting man because we would be
poor. You and I are going to have a
long talk about your guessing.
Sometimes instead of doing things that are based off facts
he does things that are based off hunches.
And that stresses me out. - I always apologize
afterward.
- A million dollars on the line.
But I'm not going to lose him over it.
So have to get over it. - We love each other.
- Yeah.
What he said. - You're so lucky that I can't
drive.
Because I would literally tune you out.
And kind of leak how you've been doing to me.
- Did you say something? - I'm going to kill you.
- We're going to switch. - We're going to do full of
bull. - I think it's lower... it
depends whether or not you're able to get the puzzle or not.
And the bull... - there are fewer tricks.
It's just the effort of... - exactly.
- Running around and finding the things.
- You check that one, this one's red.
- We have red and white. - So tired.
- Check that one?
See... come on, babe. - Wait, wait, wait for me.
Wait, wait. So exhausted.
- Let's go.
Ok. - Come on.
- We have to go back.
And... - I have no idea.
- Over there.
Over there. We have to go all the way
around. - Oh, my god.
- Go, go.
- We can't get that high one.
- Look and see where we're... - I got it, I got it.
- We have all three? - Yeah.
- Go, go, go.
- Go, go, go.
- Bon jour.
- Thank you. - How pretty.
- Open the clue. - Hurry, hurry.
Phil: These distinctive limestone rocks are seen
throughout les baux and used to build this traditional
country-style home. Ben vangudo, the pit stop of
this leg of the race, last team to check in here may be
eliminated. - Blue, right, red.
- Thank you so much. - Come on, babe.
We got this.
- Yeah.
- We can beat ocean. - All right.
- Run up those stairs. Come on.
Let's go. Anything?
One red.
We might have to go levels. - Red.
- They're all red. - Got a head start, babe.
- There's people running... Oh, my god.
- They're doing the bulls. - We could still do the bulls
if you wanted to. - No.
There could be a lot of running on that.
- We got a red ribbon, blue ribbon, we need a white ribbon.
- Red. - Come on, come on.
- Red. - Go this way.
- White. - Red, white and blue.
Coming down.
- I made it up there through here.
- Come on, come on.
- Eric, thank you. - Thank you.
- Let's go.
Con.
Hurry up. Come on, come on.
- To the arena in pouches attached to the bulls.
And the other one is put together, a puzzle of a Van
gogh. And I feel like the puzzle,
like if you're not getting it, you're just... will not get it,
you know what I mean? - I understand.
If it's one of the slidey ones it could take a long time.
- Van gogh.
We are so lost. Let's hope this puzzle is
better than looking for those pouches.
- That's the street we're supposed to be on right there.
Unless this is it.
- Let's run around on foot.
This is ridiculous. We're wasting time.
- Have you tried it? Any of these over here?
- No.
I might try this next one.
- Yeah.
- Let's park here. Let's go.
- Oh, it's right there.
- Indycar is right there.
- Let's go.
- The navigation is really strong for us.
It was a good reward when we left the... last and saw two
other teams.
An affirmation of what we were doing was still right.
- It's right there.
We have to go quick.
- Oh, boy. - Look at this.
d - let's go.
- Go, go, go, go.
- Color... - red, white and blue.
- Oh, my god.
- Red. - Ok.
- Nothing. - Keep going.
- Red. - Perfect.
- Sorry, guys. - Red.
- Red again. - Let's go up higher.
- This way.
- We're blocked. We're blocked.
Go that way.
- We got to hurry, Jess. - We got a white one.
Checking this guy.
Red.
We need a blue one. - We have to beat them.
- Yeah, here.
- White. - We got white?
Just need blue. We're good.
- You see the pouch? - Yeah.
Only red. - The blue ribbon was very
elusive.
Which just meant we had to go further up the stairs, made it
more exhausting.
And more time consuming.
- Here, here, here.
Stairs, stairs. - Ok.
- Ok.
Why severing red? - Red.
...Why is everything red? - Red.
Blue. White.
- There's stairs over there. - Perfect.
- Great job. - Did you see one?
- Blue.
- Ok.
We're good. - White.
- Red. - So many reds.
- The only reds I like to see are the firestone reds.
- Let's go.
- Let's keep circling around.
- Are you the bull fighter?
Thank you so much.
- Thank you. - Yale's done.
d - how did they get it already?
- Let's knock this one out top left here real quick.
- Blue.
- Let's go.
- All right. Here we go.
- Blue.
Blue. We got it.
- Go that way. - We got to go.
- Thank you. - Thank you so much.
- Come on. - Bon jour.
- We got to go fast. - Go, go, go, go.
- We are headed to the hotel benvagedo.
Rogues rescue got ahead of us and we can get before them we
will be absolutely thrilled.
- Ben vangudo. Ben vangudo.
- We got this. - People are so Chloe at
driving.
- Keep our eyes really open. - Can you give me my
headphones? - You're what?
- Headphones.
- Headphones?
- Yeah.
- Headphones.
I guess he's cold.
- Ben... - what's this?
- This is it.
- I saw the sign.
- Ben vandudo. Turn around.
- Where is... - he's over there.
- I've come to gavatnar. - Lucas and Brittany, you are
team number one!
Congratulations.
And I have some great news for you.
As the winners of this leg of the race, you have won a trip
from travelocity and you are going to Bali!
- No way!
Phil: It's a very romantic place.
- Oh, my... Phil: You'll enjoy five nights
in a cool villa at the laguna resort and spa, relax on a
private beach, and enjoy a balinese massage for two and
dinner at banube restaurant.
Five legs of the amazing race.
You were so close to being out. On the last leg.
And now you have won this leg of the race.
- And I can't stop crying. Phil: And every time I see you,
you're crying.
- It's just joy. - I cannot keep it together.
Phil: I know one of the things you wanted was this alone time
with him. - Yes.
Phil: And what's that been like?
- He's giving me everything and more.
Phil: Oh, look. And there's kristi and Jen.
- Congratulations. Phil: How do you feel about
these two taking their first first place finish?
- We're so proud of them.
- They've had some bad luck and they persevered.
I'm going to start crying.
And you have... the two emotional ones.
This hasn't happened yet. I'm just happy.
Phil: Phil, can you give me a minute?
Can I say something?
- Phil, can you give me a minute?
Can I say something?
Me and Brittany have been together for nine years and
since the first year I saw her and we've been together I
couldn't think of any other person to be with.
And I love her very much. And yesterday we had a very
tough like... I was a little bit upset.
But she knows how to bring me ...back into my right place and
we talked last night. And said ok.
When... moving forward we're going to have fun and push
ourselves.
And she's... she's everything to me.
And I can't think of a better place to do it.
And I would like to... if I can find it.
Phil: Eric and Daniel, get over here.
You got to see this moment. Jut take it in.
See what's happening. - Brittany...
- yay! - Would you marry me?
- Oh, my god!
d Phil: Brittany, how do you
feel? - I'm so happy!
Phil: This is you what wanted, right?
Lucas, why today? - Today is perfect.
We're in France.
We're running through castles.
She's a Princess. And we won a trip to Bali where
we always wanted to be. So I can't think of a better
place to do it. I just want to spend rest of my
life. - If nothing else...
- just perfect.
She's perfect.
And she deserves it.
Phil: You want to say anything else, Brittany?
- No, I love you.
- I love you, too. - I'm on cloud nine.
It's almost surreal.
When you've spent a life with somebody, and you built
something over nine years, it's ...different.
That perfect moment with the perfect people.
You know, it's just wonderful.
And something shiny on your finger helps.
Phil: Brittany, your dad, what will he be thinking right now?
- He's going to be eating his words now.
[Laughter] Phil: Here's hen are you and
Evan... Henry and Evan coming in.
First of all, welcome.
- Thank you. - Thank you.
Phil: But secondly, we have some news to share with you.
- Oh, my god!
Congratulations!
Oh, this is so exciting!
- A hug... - I love you.
- Congratulations. - It's so beautiful.
- Congratulations. - Henry, nice legs.
Phil: Alex and Conor, you are team number five.
- Thank god. Phil: But perhaps more
importantly, you're witnessing an engagement today because...
- did they win?
[Laughter] Phil: They not only won the
leg, they won each other's hearts.
They are now engaged. - Oh, my gosh.
That's wonderful. Phil: Conor, just take note
here. When you get married one day.
- I won't be seeing one of those for a very long time.
- We're trying to find the bull challenge.
- One more time. The city we're going to?
- A-r-l-e-s. I think we need to turn around.
We saw the sign back there. - That could really put us
behind. - Oh, my god.
- We'll go to the right. This is where we came from.
- And we're good.
- This is it.
- That sucked. - First team here.
- See anything?
- Oh, there it is. - Oh, my god.
- Look at this.
- Oh, my gosh. That's crazy.
- One of them. - They all look available.
- Everybody left.
- They're not here yet.
- Can we choose this?
- Solve the puzzle.
And the masterpiece.
- This is a puzzle that has some meaning to it, right?
Bon jour. - He is Van gogh.
Cut his ear off?
- We have to really think about this.
- Obviously we can't move these pieces, right?
- We got to find some pieces.
That's killing us.
- It's in here, anything?
- Oh, my god.
That... are there pieces anywhere?
- This is going to kill me.
- What the heck. Phil: Cody and Jessica, you are
team number six.
- Ok.
- Still in the race. - We are pretty lost at the
moment. - We're in the city of arles
but don't know where to go within the city.
- Let's go.
- My god.
- We have chosen an available puzzle.
We know that. - Oh, this moved a little bit.
- So this one moves? - Oh, my god.
- This has to line up. - Which one moves first?
- These two are the only ones moving freely.
- Does anything else move? - No.
- This is locked out of place. So this is a puzzle where you
have to slide pieces in a certain order.
But if you slide them out of order the pieces won't even
slide.
- We got this. - So this is in the right
spot. - That locks that.
We need... need to... - go across and down?
- I don't know.
- That's... oh, my god.
- I think we're done.
- No?
- Oh, it will open up when we're done.
- Is that how... does it... - I think it will fall down.
- Nobody is here.
- I'm sure they did this stuff already.
- Damn.
- What is the name of the place with the bull?
- Arena. Park in the marked parking area
to cavalry. ...Going to be something large
either way. I don't know.
I feel like we're going nowhere now.
- We're struggling.
- It looks like everything is lining up here.
- We don't know if that's fend or not.
- Put them all... that's all i can think of, right?
So in order for this one to go in, this has to go out.
But I think this one doesn't... Over here.
- Rude de cavalry? Arena?
- Arena? - We never got that to move.
- We got this one. - It slide over.
- Slides over. - Which way...
- who would have thought this? So hard.
- Ok.
Never mind. - Oh, my god.
It doesn't seem like anybody knows the actual street that we
need to get on to.
- Very frustrating.
Who knows where we are now? - Oh, my god, are we out of
this race?
- Damn.
- Oh, my god.
- We're looking for the whole arena of bulls.
If there's a race flag on it just park.
- This must be it. This is it.
- It has to be it. - Finally.
d - got to get a red, white and
blue. I see a red poking out of
there.
Ok. - No.
- What?
- We have to look for passageways up to the next
bulls.
- Very difficult and frustrating.
This puzzle.
- Let's try this again.
- This one needs to go a little bit up, doesn't it?
- That's terrible over there.
- It has to be there.
- This has to be there.
- Probably going to open it, right?
- Red. Blue.
Nice. Red.
- Here's one under him.
- White. Got it.
Let's go. Can we go that way?
No. Go
- how do we get out? - I don't know.
- Oh, my god.
- Oh, my gosh. - I feel like this is where
it's going to open, right?
Look how much more that goes. - There.
- You see... - no idea.
- We're going to pull it out.
- Not frustrating at all.
Not frustrating at all. - Hello, meseur.
- Merci! - Si.
- In the direction of les baux.
- Find Phil on the map.
- Can't believe it was done. - We think we solved it about
10 times before we understood how to open the box that
contained our clue. - That is not you what want to
do when you're playing from behind.
- We are headed to find Phil.
- To disaster. - To les baux.
- Hopefully we're not last.
- We're last.
- It's likely. But can never be so sure until
we're absolutely sure.
- I really do want to see some more places.
- We still might have chosen our tour.
- - can't we do anything right?
- I don't want to go home. - We can somehow survive.
- You picked a fine day to be late.
- I know.
- Do you know how late you are?
- I can't see how anybody would have been slower than us
today.
- Yeah.
It's hard to imagine. - Yeah.
- But guess what?
- Shut up. Phil: There is one team slower
than you. - Oh, my god.
- Trevor and Chris, you're team number seven.
Congratulations.
Phil: Joey and Tim, I'm really sorry to tell you that you are
the last team to arrive.
And unfortunately, you've been eliminated from the race.
I can see a lot of emotion there, Joey.
- Yeah.
We... it's sad. We really loved racing this.
But I'm happy me and Tim competed.
And happy he's my partner.
There were things that i couldn't have done that Tim did
during the racial.
And we succeeded together and failed together.
- It was a tremendous privilege to get to do this.
But I think we left so much undone that I... I don't know
what... the feeling of missing out.
Because of our own failures.
- It's a tough pill to swallow .
- No.
It's all right. - I guess we aren't wieners
today.
Phil: On the next episode of "the amazing race"... in the
colorful city of bride the competition gets personal.
- Big brother screwed us.
- Last time I help her.
- Do I trust her?
- Hell no. Phil: The teams face the double
u-turn. - One of they will will be
used on us. Phil: And an "the amazing
race."
- Oh, my god.
