[Jenna] Ah... Stop complaining, Sean.
It's not every day you get to rub elbows with important people.
[Sean laughs]
I'll have you know I paddle once a week
with the City Planner and the District Attorney.
Let's face it, Jenna,
you didn't bring me to that Parks and Rec meeting to advance my career.
Those were some of the most influential people in the state back there
and I need their deep pockets.
The election is only a few months away and I plan on winning it.
Well, I'm very proud of you, Jenna,
but I'm not your campaign manager.
No, you're not. You're a lifeguard.
You've got a tan, broad shoulders and a nice smile,
and people trust you.
Besides, it helps humanize me to be seen with one of the working class.
[laughs]
Well, excuse me, Your Majesty,
but it wasn't that long ago that you were a lifeguard, too.
Yes, but I'm a Councilwoman now.
And in case you haven't noticed,
most people are intimidated by a woman in a power position.
Especially one who's smart, successful and attractive.
Don't forget modest.
[Jenna laughs]
I prefer ambitious.
So face it, Sean.
Rubbing elbows with constituents is now part of your job description.
[Lyle] Hey!
-[Sean] What's up? -[Lyle] You gotta help me.
My friend hit his head on a reef. He's bleeding bad.
[Sean] Alright, alright. Get in. Show us where.
[Lyle] We're by the jetty. A wave came in.
I don't know what happened.
[Lyle] Let's go! Let's go!
He's over there.
[siren wailing]
There he is! Right there!
[Jenna over the radio] Beach Control, this is Councilwoman Avid.
There's been an accident on the beach, just west of Baywatch Headquarters.
One victim, possible head trauma. Need medics out here, stat!
[man] Copy that.
I'm gonna need your help to stabilize his neck.
Sean, this suit is Dolce and Gabbana.
Yeah, well, in a minute it's gonna be wet. Let's go!
Sean!
[opening theme song]
[Lyle] Is he gonna be okay? Let me help.
It's okay, Leo. It's okay. He's a lifeguard.
You're in good hands. Come on, stay with us.
Okay, here.
I got him.
Keep his head straight.
[grunts]
I'm gonna need direct pressure to stop the bleeding.
I don't hear anything. Where are they, Jenna?
[Jenna] Beach Control, what's the ETA on the ambulance?
[man] They're being delayed by road construction on the H-1.
They estimate 15 minutes.
That's too long. He's losing blood.
All right here, here.
All right.
Tell them to have a police escort meet at the corner of Kam and 99, all right?
We're gonna bring him in ourselves.
[Sean] All right.
When I say on three we're gonna roll him. Get down on that end.
[Sean] One, two, three.
-[Jenna] Ugh... -[Lyle] Oh, God.
[Sean] Easy, easy. Keep him straight.
I got him.
-Okay. -[Lyle] Will he be okay?
Ready? On three, roll him back. One, two, three.
[Lyle] Thanks, guys. Thanks.
[Sean] One, two, three, up!
Hang on, alright?
[Sean] Hold his head.
[Jenna] This is Councilwoman Avid.
I need somebody to meet us at Kam Highway and 99.
And please, hurry up,
we have a victim here with severe bleeding.
-[siren wailing] -[Jenna] We should be there in 20 minutes.
[nurse] Coming through.
Okay, wait for the...
Geez. God, you know, I totally lost it out there.
I thought that last stock market crash shook me up,
but seeing Leo eat that wave...
I think that I will leave my risk-taking to the bullpen from now on...
Lyle Garret, Financial Consultant.
Jenna Avid, Councilwoman.
You must be the prettiest Councilwoman in history.
Okay, what do you want?
A liquor license, parking tickets revoked?
No. No, just a dinner date.
Look, your friend's got a concussion. They're gonna keep him here a few days.
All right. I better go check on him.
-Thanks again for your help. -Don't mention it.
And about that matter we discussed...
Call my secretary.
I'll have her pencil you in if I have the free time.
I'll do that.
So much for people being intimidated by a woman in a power position.
[woman] Ladies and gentlemen, please fasten your seat belts.
We are about to begin our decent to beautiful Maui.
And thank you for choosing to fly Hawaiian Airlines. Mahalo.
[JD] Hi, hon.
Yeah, we're at the Royal Lahaina. We're going to meet Derek.
It's gorgeous. Jason heard they opened the trail up to the cross at Iao Valley.
I know there's flash flooding there this time of year.
Kekoa, I'm not gonna do anything stupid.
You, too, K.
Miss you already, hon. Bye.
-What? -[Jason] What do you mean, what?
Bro, you said good-bye to her an hour ago.
What happened to you, man? Where's your dignity?
Your male pride? Manly independence?
It's not me, man, it's her.
Yeah, right.
"Honey, I miss you."
Hey, think I'm bad, wait till you meet Derek.
He's got a wife and two kids to answer to.
That's just great.
My first weekend off in, I don't know how long,
and I gotta spend it with the whipped brothers.
Derek's the man.
He's an in-house attorney for a Fortune Five Hundred Company.
Rakes in the dough.
He's got the new house, the Porsche and a golf swing that'll make you weep.
Ugh, man!
Look, nothing personal,
but why don't I just get on the next plane back to Oahu?
Come on, doofus. Give him a chance.
If you don't like him, you have me permission
to toss him off the nearest cliff, okay?
Yeah, that means I'm stuck with your sorry face all weekend.
[soft music]
[Jason] We should've called from the lobby first.
Yo, Derek?
God, it looks like someone had a rough night.
No kidding. This pizza's got anchovies.
-Bro, what're you doing? -What? I'm hungry.
I don't have a girlfriend to fix me breakfast.
Hey, Derek, you in there making the scene with a magazine.
[Jason laughs]
Jesus, Derek! No!
[JD] Jason, help me! Get a knife!
-Howzit, Brah! -[scream]
[Derek laughs]
Ah, man, JD, you should have seen your face!
[laughs]
You crazy son-of-a bitch! I really thought you hung yourself.
I mean, that was intense. You had me spooked.
-Jason Ioane. -Derek Hart.
Jason and I work together at Baywatch.
I was just telling him about some of your past adventures.
Yeah, what was her name?
But now that you pulled this little stunt.
I take it back, Jason. This guy's a bum.
You work with this school-girl?
Yeah, keep it up and the noose goes around your neck for real.
Promise?
You better just watch your back, smart-ass. I owe you one now.
[both laugh]
You better call 911, cause you're doing down.
My grandma's faster than you!
Hike!
[JD grunts]
[laughs]
[screams]
[JD grunts]
[Derek screaming]
[screaming] Fumble!
[Derek screaming] Yeah!
Ouch, man. You alright? You okay? Because you just got creamed.
Yeah. I got a few ribs left.
Well, that guy's completely out there.
Looks like there's hope for this trip, after all, buddy.
[sarcastic light laugh]
[JD grunts]
[Lyle] I love doing business in O'ahu.
Especially here at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
But let's, um, let's talk about you.
How did a drop-dead gorgeous lifeguard from Las Vegas
end up running a slice of tropical paradise?
I wanted to get out of the desert, so I came to Hawaii.
I worked hard, made some good contacts.
And now you're Councilwoman.
For the time being, yeah.
[cellphone ringing]
You know what, this won't take more than two minutes.
Just need to make a trade before the market closes in Tokyo.
Lyle Garret.
[speaking Japanese]
[light laugh]
[speaking Japanese]
Everything okay?
Oh, yeah.
Just made my client's day.
That trade just paid for his new Cessna he's had his eye on.
[giggles]
You know what?
-No more interruptions. -[turning off cellphone]
I promise.
You know, I've been trying to start an exploratory group
to raise money for my re-election campaign.
Do you think any of your clients would be interested in meeting my people?
Come on, Jenna.
You're a beautiful woman.
There are more important things that we can talk about
other than this money stuff?
Not really, not to me.
Okay.
Want my advice?
Think long-term, conservative investments.
Well, correct me if I'm wrong, Mr. Garret,
but nothing about you screams long-term or conservative.
Is that a line you feed all your clients?
Well...
My clients can afford to make mistakes.
Can you?
How are the returns?
With me?
Better than even.
How much better?
Oh, 80%.
But I've just been on a lucky streak, lately.
You gotta risk big to win big, right?
You like hearing "yes", don't you?
Under the right circumstances, I like saying it even better.
Um, waiter? Check please.
[softly] Ah...
My opponent just got engaged to the daughter
of the Import/Export company on the island.
Well, if you, need a date to the engagement party, I'm available.
No, I'm saying, this means his campaign fund just got a huge shot in the arm.
Baby, can we not mix business with pleasure, please?
Lyle, I'm a business-woman.
I manage budgets for the city, and I know how money works.
I've been following the markets.
I've seen technology stocks going through the roof.
And most of those stocks are just smoke.
Momentum investors are pushing those prices to ridiculous heights.
Believe me, okay? There are no get-rich-quick schemes.
Well, somebody's making a hell of a lot of money.
Ah, Jenna...
Mm?
I really care about you.
And I don't want to see anything mess this up.
Come on, Lyle, break a little rule for me?
I broke one for you last night.
Yeah, you did.
[both laugh]
Alright, alright.
But this is against my will, okay?
And we're starting off small.
-Okay. -Okay?
-No more than 5000 dollars. -Okay.
-Come here. Mmm... -Mmm...
d When life brings you down d
[Jason] JD, this is crazy, man!
Whoo, whoo!
[JD] There is no place on earth like Haliaklakala Crater.
[Jason] Whoo, hoo!
d You're only human d
[Jason] This is awesome!
[JD] Take it easy on the bikes, Derek. Remember, they're rentals.
d From the lessons you've learned d
d Everybody makes mistakes d
d Just know there'll be a brighter day d
d If you rise above d
d When the world's crashing down d
d Rise above d
d When there's no one around Rise above d
d When the tide is high d
d When you're just about to capsize Rise above d
d Take a good look inside Rise above d
d And swallow your pride Rise above d
d Learn from the past d
d And know that soon The sun will shine again d
-[Jason] You hoo! -[Derek] Whoo!
[Derek] Oh, oh, oh, oh!
[Derek] Whoa!
Ah!
What happened to JD?
He probably stopped to check in with Kekoa or something.
I can't believe the man's engaged.
Didn't he just get over a four alarm blaze with Jessie?
That's what I'm saying, man.
He's an accident looking for a victim.
Better him than me, though.
Man, what I wouldn't give for a slice of your life.
No attachments, no responsibilities.
Free as a bird!
I've been with the same woman for 11 years. Can you believe that?
You got kids, too, right?
Yeah, two. Twin girls. They'll be three next month.
Sweet.
Now I gotta worry about saving for college
on top of the mortgage, car loans, and credit card bills.
Well, that's why you got the high-powered job.
Yeah... must be.
I'm gonna keep going a bit.
Alright. Well, I'll wait for JD.
[Derek] Alright.
We'll catch up to you around the corner, okay?
I blew a tire about two miles back. Thanks for the help.
-I'm sorry, man. I didn't know. -[Derek] Whooo!
[Jason] Look at him, tearing up the trail like he's Evil Kneivel.
The hell is he doing?
He's heading straight for the cliff.
[Derek] Whoa... oh, oh!
[Derek] What're you doing?
What the hell are you doing, Derek?
There's a cliff here, in case you haven't noticed.
I saw it. Just, ah, catching the view.
[JD] The view of what? Your life flashing before your eyes?
Get off my back, lifeguard.
I'm not some old lady flailing in the rip with her water wings.
Guys, come on. It's over with, alright? No harm, no foul.
Let's get back to it. We gotta lot of riding to do before lunch.
-I'm just trying to have some fun. -I know.
Then stick to the trail.
-I can take care of myself. -Yeah.
Either he's trying to kill himself
or just blind and crazy.
No way. Derek's cool. He was careless, that's all.
So, I took a gamble on an IPO and doubled your money.
Oh, my God. This is fantastic!
But cash?
What, do you want me to cut you a check, instead,
so Uncle Sam can take his 40%?
Oh, no, no, no. No. I think this is great.
Ten thousand dollars, overnight!
You're a magician!
No, I made a good call. This time.
I don't believe in luck.
You're obviously good at what you do.
I want you to take this money back, and reinvest it.
Mm, I'm getting that distinct impression
you're just after me for my financial prowess.
Nothing gets me hotter than knowing I'm going to be able
to put up a food fight.
I'm glad I could help you out,
but my clients that I deal with are big.
Excuse me. I'm a Councilwoman. Quite possibly mayor, someday.
And you're just getting started in this game.
Okay, yeah, you have some stocks and a mutual fund,
but the investors I deal with usually anti up with significantly larger sums.
How much larger?
Can't we just have a drink and talk about something else?
I missed you.
I wanna know how much money it's gonna take for me to come up with
for you to take me seriously?
Hey, I don't know, $30,000? On top of your $10,000.
But, even if you could come up with it, I wouldn't put you in that kind of risk.
You want to talk about risk?
I never jump into relationships like this.
But I trust my instincts when they tell me to go for it.
Maybe it's time you step up to the plate.
Hey, you're not the only one taking a leap of faith here.
I can see a future for us together.
Then show me the money.
[seductive music]
Okay, you've got five minutes. What is it?
-I need your body. -Excuse me?
I have a used car salesman meeting me here in ten minutes.
You know how they are.
They see a woman and immediately try to rip her off.
Now, don't tell me you're selling your car to raise money for some investment?
Jenna? I told you about this Lyle guy.
He already put one of his clients in the hospital.
Yes, but he's never had a client like me.
Besides, I've got him eating out of my hand.
While he's eating out of your hand, who's watching your purse?
What you don't seem to realize, Sean, is that your future is tied up with mine.
If I don't win this election, you think the next council-person
is gonna put up with your money-losing training center?
No.
Alright, you know what?
He's a used car salesman. You're a politician.
Sounds like a fair fight to me.
But, you know, better yet,
why don't you use your new broker friend as your hood ornament?
Sean...
-[Sean] Go get her, tiger. -[man] Yeah, thanks.
Hi.
Hey, man, I'm sorry about going off on you, earlier.
No, JD, it was my fault.
You were right, I shouldn't have left the trail.
No, man, you were just trying to have a good time.
I screwed it up.
Ladies, ladies, you're both pretty, alright?
Just take it easy with the mushy stuff.
He's right.
Just looking at your face is all the good time I need.
Ho, ho. You mean your mama's face is a good time?
[Jason] Hey, now, don't be bring anyone's mama into this.
Yeah... Hey, have some cheese, rat.
[laughs]
Oh, oh.
Oh, that's gonna leave a mark.
Easy, easy, now, bad boys.
Whoa, whoa. Hold on, time out. What's this? Pastry?
This isn't pastry. It's partially hydrogenated soybean oil.
[JD] Well, that's my point.
What're you doing eating something that's not even biodegradable?
[Derek] That's low.
First you pick on my mama,
and now you're bagging on my man for his sweet tooth.
You know something, JD?
You're right. What am I doing wasting a perfectly good cupcake on you?
Um, um, delicious. Scrumptious.
[laughing] Oh!
That does it!
[grunts]
[screaming]
-Whoo! -Hey! Hey!
Who took my knife?
Nobody took your knife. Maybe you misplaced it.
-Where the hell is it? -Dude, take it easy, Derek. We'll find it.
It was just here a second ago.
I know one of you guys used it.
That's my best hunting knife.
I'm gonna kill someone if I don't find it.
Yo, Sybil, check your belt. It's right there in its holster.
[Derek] Oh, man, I am sorry.
For a minute there I thought you guys were acting like my wife.
She's always putting stuff away where I can't find it.
It drives me nuts!
Women!
You're a trip, dude.
Yeah, you're a real funny guy.
Are you sure it's not your medication you're missing?
Woo-hoo, what is wrong with me?
[laughs]
You wanna hear something really funny? I lost my job.
What?
Yeah. Canned, sacked, fired. Over a dirty joke.
What do you mean?
What happened?
I forwarded an X-rated joke through the company email
to some guys I work with.
Somehow it ended up on this woman's computer.
She gets pissed off.
Next day, she marches into the president's office,
demands that he fire me or she's gonna scream sexual harassment.
Take legal action.
[JD] So you got canned?
Over a joke?
It took me ten years to work my way up from mailroom to vice-president.
And now it's all over.
[JD] What about Sarah? Does she know?
She's not talking to me.
I work my butt off, first sign of trouble,
she turns her back on me.
She says she wants to think about things. Re-evaluate.
Well, she can re-evaluate her ass right out of my life.
You can't be serious. What about the kids?
I'm gonna lose everything.
It wasn't supposed to happen this way.
[Lyle] My, my, Councilwoman.
Make sure there aren't any photographers around.
We could cause a scandal.
[Jenna] Take me away. I need a break from my civic duties.
Wow.
Is this what I think it is?
I told you I'm a player.
-You sure are. -[light laugh]
Let me take you for a ride.
[sighs]
Here's to us.
Mm... cheers.
When are you gonna tell me about our new business venture?
You don't quit, do you?
Not when I see a golden opportunity.
And neither do I.
I haven't really cared about a woman in a long time.
And I see something starting here. Something good.
And I don't want anything to spoil this.
Nothing's gonna spoil this, Lyle.
I'm a big girl.
I know the risks involved,
and whatever happens, I can handle it.
Okay?
Mmm...
Give me this.
Up, up and away!
[Jenna laughing] Oh, you crazy boy!
[dramatic music]
Lyle.
Lye... Lyle?
Lyle?
Lyle?
Lyle?
Lyle...
Oh, my God.
This is Councilwoman Avid. I need Baywatch Hawaii.
[man] I'll patch you through.
[Derek] So I made a joke about boobs.
That's funny. Boobs are funny, right?
[Jason laughs] I'm laughing.
[Derek] Some wench decides to make an example out of me and ruin my life.
Screw 'em if they can't take a joke.
[Jason] No kidding. Women cry equality of the sexes,
they should be able to take what they dish out.
[Derek] But they can't, can they?
No matter what you say, someone gets offended.
[Jason] I hear you, man. These days people fly off the hook for nothing.
Everyone's so hyper-sensitive, everything's politically incorrect.
I mean, we're guys, right? We're primal.
We fart, we burp, we laugh at stupid jokes.
But they make an example out of me.
The whole damn world is turning into a girl scout camp.
[JD] If you knew the joke was offensive, why'd you risk it all by sending it?
[Derek] Listen to the voice of reason.
You got a real gift there, JD.
Don't go too fast, you might get hurt.
Don't eat the cake, it's not good for you.
Don't laugh too hard, someone might hear you.
Even in school, no matter what I did,
you always had to rain on my parade.
I'm your friend, Derek.
Sometimes you just go too far.
Right. Spare me the sympathy bit, please.
Jason's my only friend here. At least he doesn't judge me.
I'm not judging you, man.
But have you even taken five minutes to think about what you're gonna do next?
No, you're running around here, like some kamikaze freak.
Maybe you ought to talk to someone.
Get your head straightened out.
I'm sick of talking.
I'm sick of you and everyone else telling me how to behave and what to do.
Screw them. Screw you.
Jason, what do you say? Me and you. Let's jump.
That's not such a good idea, man.
Don't go jumping in water if you don't know what's at the bottom.
Come on, man, that's him talking.
Look at the white water.
-It's gonna be a rush. -Hey! Don't do it!
Don't be an idiot.
You need this more than anyone.
[screaming]
No!
[screaming]
Whoa, wee...
JD?
[screaming]
[screaming]
Listen to me. You gotta help me find JD.
-He's trapped in the waterfall. -I can't, it's too dark down there.
Put your hands in front of your face. Dive down.
If you feel anything, grab him and pull him up.
I can't!
Listen to me. You gotta help me find him.
If not, I'll take you down, understand?
Now, do it! Now!
[JD coughing]
-You all right? -Yeah.
How's Derek?
No broken bones, no lacerations.
Yeah, just sick in the head.
[JD coughing]
[Sean] Okay.
I'm here, alone, per your orders.
What's the emergency?
It's Lyle, Sean. He's missing.
I was asleep downstairs.
I don't know, I think, maybe he fell overboard.
Why didn't you call the Coast Guard, Jenna?
What if he's dead, Sean?
My political career cannot handle that sort of scandal.
Alright, alright, just calm down.
Now, tell me exactly what happened.
Sean, I don't know exactly what happened. We were drinking champagne.
Then we went downstairs.
Then after that...
And I don't know, maybe it's all the booze and the sun,
but my head's in such a fog, right now.
Well, maybe he slipped you something.
That's impossible, Sean.
Yeah?
Well, then, why is there residue in your glass?
What?
Why would he put...
Where's my bag?
-Was there a tender? -What?
Were you towing a small boat?
Oh, my God.
That bastard.
Chewed him right up and spit him out, didn't you?
Want a toothpick?
Oh, you are just loving this, aren't you, Sean?
So help me, Sean Monroe,
if that man gets away with my hard earned money, I am going...
You know, I don't know what I'm going to do.
But whatever it is, you are going to pay for it.
Relax, will you? What's his cell phone number?
Why, what're you gonna do? Call him up and chew him out?
No, I'll leave that to you.
Alright, I have a better idea.
Hi, can I speak to your supervisor, please?
Hi, Melissa, yes, this is Captain Sean Monroe of Baywatch Hawaii.
I have a possible emergency situation here
and I need to track the victim down.
His cell phone number is...
555-6155.
Did you get that?
Great.
Yeah. What I need is the location and time of his last call.
Mm, hmm.
Yeah, alright. Well, thank you very much, Melissa.
Oh, and if you stop by Councilwoman Jenna Avid's office tomorrow,
there'll be a reward for you kind assistance.
Thank you.
Deceit and bribery. And I thought you had no future in politics.
Garret's last call places him due southeast of here,
which means he's headed towards the Ala Wai Harbor.
[music]
[dramatic music]
There he is, Sean.
[Sean] We got him.
Alright, take the wheel.
[Sean] Stop your boat.
Shut it down, now!
[Lyle grunts]
[Jenna] No! My money!
[grunting]
[Lyle] Get off me.
Let's go. The trip's over
I'm staying here. I got nothing to go home to.
Hey, turbo, if you're on some kind of reckless journey,
why don't you wait til we're outta sight before you try anything else stupid?
Cause nobody wants to go down with your ship.
When I screw up, I screw up big.
I almost got you killed.
But you pulled me out.
You stepped up when you had to.
You can do the same thing with your family.
How do I face them? I feel like such a loser.
What can I tell you, man?
The world's unfair.
Your company made an example of you and that's harsh,
but you caused this thing.
Sure, you were just goofing around, having fun,
and now it's got consequences.
No wonder why Sarah's not talking to you.
You've got three people out there who depend on you.
You gotta do right by them, man.
And you can.
[police] Get back in the car.
[police woman] Come on.
[Sean] As far as I can tell, he took her money
and was heading for the Ala Wai Harbor to make his escape.
[police] Turn around.
You think you pulled one over on me, don't you?
If it hadn't been for your lifeguard buddy,
I'd be halfway to the Caymans by now.
You see, people like you,
you want wealth and power so bad,
anybody could've taken you for a ride.
Is that how you get your rocks off, taking advantage of people?
[laughing] Get real.
You're just as parasitic as I am.
Hey, hey.
I'd be careful if I were you Councilwoman.
The cameras are rolling.
I think we can get the camcorder right over there.
[man] Alright, let's get set up.
Get him out of my sight.
[police] Yes, Ma'am.
What do you want first?
Good news or the bad news?
What could be worse than me being the six o'clock headline?
They can't hold him on the money con.
What are you talking about, Sean?
Apparently, he really is a broker, licensed and everything.
You willingly authorized him to invest your money for you
and he claims he was on his way to the bank to do just that.
I can't wait to hear the good news.
Well, they got him for the stolen boat.
And the IRS is after him.
It seems there's other complaints against him.
[reporter] Ms. Avid...
Look, ah, you want me to handle this, huh?
I can try and put a spin on it.
You know, lifeguard, trustworthy, broad shoulders, that whole thing?
No. This is my mess.
My cover up.
[reporter] How are you involved in this incident?
d You'll be stronger d
d From the lessons you've learned d
d Everybody makes mistakes d
What do you think's gonna happen?
Honestly, I don't know.
Maybe he'll work things out with his wife,
or he won't and hopefully move on.
Man, I can't believe it. All over some stupid joke.
Do you know how many I get on my email every day?
It's a pretty tough penalty for something everybody does.
I know he didn't mean to offend anyone, but he didn't think about it either.
This is gonna sound like Sean, but, everybody loses.
The important thing is not to lose the lesson.
How'd it go?
[sighs] Not great.
But she's talking to you, right?
It's a start.
Yeah, at least it's a start.
Come on. Let's go get a drink before we leave.
Hey, ah, Derek, there's just one thing I gotta know.
What was the joke?
[grunts]
[positive music]
[Jenna] Two thousand dollars? I'm not writing a check.
That's what I'm asking for. That's the price.
[salesman] That's what I need to get for it.
[Jenna] You suck.
This is so not right.
Take the check. Get outta my face and never talk to me again.
If I ever see you I will crush you.
[salesman] Okay, fine. Bye-bye.
Go away.
[Sean laughing]
Oh, I see you got your car back.
You're a little late, Sean.
I just spent 2000 dollars more to get it back than I sold it for yesterday.
-Thank you. -You're welcome.
I'll chalk it up to experience, Jenna.
I hope this whole episode with the phony broker
isn't gonna take your edge off?
Are you kidding?
I've learned a lot from this little tactical error.
You see, I realize that I tried to control Lyle with my sexuality.
I shouldn't have slept with him on the first date.
Well, I would say that's a reasonable policy to adopt.
But, you know, don't get me wrong.
I enjoyed every minute of it. I mean, he was an exceptional man.
But, in retrospect, it clouded my judgment.
Do I really need to hear all this?
What I should've done was probably just kept him on the chase.
Made him think that he was in control
when I would have been in the driver's seat.
You know, like I did with you.
[Sean laughs]
No, Jenna, I know you liked him.
Now, you can talk and talk all you want,
but he hurt you and it's okay to admit once in a while, that you're human.
Sean, how sweet. You're jealous.
And you're delusional. How typical.
[light laugh]
Thanks for showing me that no matter how badly I feel,
there's always someone worse off than me.
Okay...
I'm back, Sean, with a vengeance.
d Rise above d
d Rise above d
d Rise above d
