Great semester, everybody.

See you in the new year.

Phew! Happy holidays, guys.

All of your presentations were fantastic.

It's open.

- Hi, Dad. - Hey.

I came to ask you...

Oh, it smells incredible in here.

What's all this?

Well, these are the final assignments

for the semester.

Each one of my students made a dish that represents

how their culture celebrates the holiday season.

They all look amazing.

Here, try this.

It's a Burmese noodle dish, made by my student, Mung,

and he's from Myanmar.

Oh. Wow.

- It's good, right? - Mmm-hmm.

I can't wait to read all of their papers

and learn about each dish.

I want to try them all.

Do it. It's not every day that cultural delicacies

from every corner of the world are sitting on my countertop.

No kidding. I feel like royalty.

You do eat like a king because we share a wall

and you can smell my cooking.

Touchรฉ.

Hey, hey.

Have you heard anything yet about that sous chef position?

Oh, really?

Oh, I'm sorry, honey.

The right position will come.

I don't know about that.

Maybe I should accept that teaching part-time

at the college is where I'm supposed to be.

I mean, it's a great job.

But?

I miss cooking for people.

What are you saying, Al?

Cooking breakfast for me every morning isn't fulfilling enough?

Are you sure you want me to answer that?

No, no.

I'm far too fragile for the truth.

What I mean is I miss cooking

in a real restaurant with real customers.

I know.

But it will come.

I can feel it in my old and frail bones.

- So, listen. - Hmm?

It's December 7th,

and we need to start planning.

So, I was thinking we could get a tree,

maybe Thursday?

You know, honey,

I think, this year,

I might want to lay low and have a quiet holiday season

without all the bells and whistles. Huh?

I know, Dad, but we laid low last year

and Mom made us a promise.

I know, I know.

But she's not here to get us into trouble.

I think she'd understand.

What's this one?

Goulash.

It's a Hungarian dish.

It's good.

Oh, wow!

Yes, I understand that, but the dividends

have never been better for our shareholders.

Mm-hmm. Well, listen, let's agree to disagree, all right?

I've gotten this far without having to sell my soul.

Why start now?

Great. Have a nice day.

Oh, and happy holidays.

Oh, it is so nice to see a familiar face.

How goes the empire?

Oh, you feel taller. Are you taller?

I don't think so.

You might be getting shorter though.

It happens with old age.

That is just cruel.

No, I'm kidding. You're beautiful as always,

like a fine wine.

Mm-hmm. All right, all right. Give it a rest.

Well, the posters are looking fantastic.

I saw them all over the train on my way over.

It's going to be a good year.

Our marketing team has really outdone themselves.

And everyone is so excited

to have you back on board as a mentor.

I can't tell you how happy I still am that you finally caved.

Well, once I found out I was working with Sebastian,

how could I say no?

I mean, that kid's going to be the next Grant Achatz.

It's almost unfair how easily we're going to win.

Right. That's actually why I wanted to talk to you today.

Oh, no. What?

Sebastian is out of the competition.

He got an opportunity in Manhattan to be head chef

at some Upper East Side bistro.

Seriously? I can't say I'm surprised,

though I was looking forward to ending Alfonso's winning streak.

Does that mean

there's only going to be three competitors this year?

We're actually hoping to find you a replacement.

A replacement?

But the competition's in four days.

We're going to look through all the applicants

and see who might make a good match for you.

No, no, but Sebastian was my guy.

I'm not interested in a B-level backup.

Eh, eh. Since when are you above teaching the underdog?

This is a very... prestigious

and very public competition.

I have a reputation to maintain.

Losing would be... I... No, I can't lose.

Don't tell me you've forgotten

that cooking can actually be fun.

You know what's more fun? Winning.

"The Mexican culinary

"traditions of Christmas are an eclectic blend

"of Spanish, European and Mesoamerican influences.

"For me, creating meals at Christmas"

"isn't just about the food; It's about our history."

Uh, excuse me, miss,

would you mind switching tables with me?

I'm sorry, what?

I'm just meeting some investors here

who would love the booth,

and since you're alone, I thought...

You thought what?

I thought maybe we could switch tables.

I do my best marking at this table.

I'm sorry. You'll have to wait until another table opens up.

These people, they're very important.

They're, like, really important.

Well, so are these papers.

Okay, if you switch with me, I'll buy your next drink.

I can buy my own drink, thanks.

Buy you a whole bottle.

And a side of sweet potato fries.

You're not used to not getting your way, are you?

Looks like you're clearly not used to reasonable compromise.

Let me guess, only child?

Smug and irritating - great combo.

Uh, sorry to interrupt, but

as part of our countdown to Christmas,

we're giving out limited edition gold Christmas tokens

to a few very lucky patrons.

Christmas tokens?

Yes. You take one, think of a Christmas wish,

throw it into the fountain out front,

and see what happens.

Seriously?

I think it's cute.

A little Christmas magic never hurt anyone.

Good luck.

But be careful what you wish for.

Okay.

Uh, so, can I have the booth, pretty please?

Sure.

Really?

When I'm done.

Ah, okay.

Thank you.

Yeah.

I wish to find out who I really am

and where I came from.

All right, have some salad.

All right, there you go.

This looks delicious. You are too good to us, Alicia.

Thanks, Kathy.

You guys help keep my skills sharp.

If the center had a Yelp page, I'd give you five stars.

Enjoy.

Hey, would you like some ham?

There you go. Enjoy.

Thank you so much. Okay, what would you like today?

Some mashed potatoes?

And do you want some ham? Okay.

You got it.

Right. This is so delicious...

There you go. Enjoy.

Hey there. Would you like some lunch today, sir?

I would love some. This all looks marvelous.

I do my best. Are you new? I don't think we've met.

First-time customer.

Ah, nice. Well, welcome.

Thank you. Miss...

Oh, no, no, no. Please call me Alicia.

Are you all right?

Great. Never better.

All right, there you go.

It's nice to meet you.

William. William Faison.

Nice to meet you, William.

Well, I'm here if you have any questions

or need anything at all.

Thank you.

Enjoy.

Hi. Would you like some lunch today?

- Pretty good, huh? - Mm-hmm.

Alicia should be running her own restaurant.

Hi.

Would you like some lunch today?

Okay.

Dad.

What are you doing here?

I found Sebastian's replacement.

One usually waits before entering, Dad.

I know, but I knew you were home.

I could smell your cooking.

I got a package here for you.

Oh. I'm so sorry you keep getting my mail.

The price I pay for sharing a duplex with my daughter.

Here.

Hmm. "Kringle Inc."

Must be one of their Christmas coupons.

Let's see.

"Dear Alicia Gellar, congratulations.

"You've been selected to participate"

"in this year's Kringle Cook-Off."

Is this a joke? Who put this in your mail?

What's the Kringle Cook-Off?

It is one of the most prestigious

cooking competitions in the country.

Everyone in Chicago knows about it.

Everyone? Really? Well, let's see about that.

Hey, Lexi, what is the Kringle Cook-Off?

Dad, her name is not Lexi. It's...

The Kringle Cook-Off

is a culinary competition

that happens every December in Chicago.

Four aspiring chefs compete for the chance

to create the menu for the Kringle's

annual Christmas Eve party.

See? It's a big deal.

Sometimes, celebrities

and political figures attend the party.

This could change a chef's entire life!

Then, we should be celebrating.

Yeah, but

I didn't apply.

There has to be some sort of mistake.

Is there a number you can call?

Hold on.

Hello?

Woman Kringle offices.

Hi. Yes, this is Alicia Gellar calling.

I received an invitation in the mail and...

Oh, Alicia Gellar?

Congratulations.

Yeah, about that, I'm so confused.

I didn't apply to participate,

so there has to be some sort of mix-up.

No mix-up. One of our competitors had to drop out

at the last minute and your name was suggested.

By who?

I'm sorry that information is confidential.

So, will we be seeing you tomorrow?

Tomorrow?

For the opening ceremony.

Yes. Yes, I'll be there.

Perfect. We'll see you then.

Someone put my name in the competition.

Well, don't look at me.

I think I know who it is.

Bobby, I've known you forever.

I just thought my mentor might have put my name in.

Nope, it wasn't me.

So, you really didn't apply for me?

I swear!

I didn't even know you could apply on behalf of someone else.

But what difference does it make?

This is the Kringle cook-off.

You should be ecstatic.

I am,

but it sort of feels like a trick.

Don't be ridiculous.

So, you really think I'm ready?

You listen to me.

I'd hire you back in a New York minute

if I thought you'd move back to Jersey.

You really mean that?

Do I ever say what I don't mean?

Thanks, Bobby.

Don't thank me. Go win this thing.

Okay. Talk to you later. Bye.

All right.

Okay. Come on. Come on. You can do this.

You deserve to be here just as much as anyone else does.

You got this...

I think.

Okay.

Hi. You're Alicia, right?

I'm Kate. This is Mike.

Hi. I was just reading about you guys.

It is so nice to meet you both.

Um, so, what restaurant do you work at?

Um, well, I...

Where did you study?

I trained in Paris at Le Cordon Bleu.

Wow.

And I graduated

from the Culinary Arts Academy in Switzerland.

- Nice. Nice. - So, uh, what about you?

Me?

It's starting. It's starting.

Oh, yeah.

Uh, welcome, everyone.

It's wonderful to see so many familiar faces

and some new ones, as well.

As most of you know, I am Logan Forrest

head chef at the Old Stone

and trusted board member of the Kringle Foundation,

and I will also be a mentor in this year's competition.

It looks to be a great year, and I look forward

to winning this...

Excuse me,

participating in such an iconic Chicago-based Christmas event.

Now, enough about me,

let's put our hands together for the brains

behind this whole operation.

Please welcome to the stage

my own mentor, my dear friend,

the incomparable Viola Kringle.

You nailed it.

Thank you, everyone.

It is such a thrill to be doing this again

for the 18th year in a row.

I am honored to be standing up here in front of all of you,

especially our four incredibly talented competitors.

Nothing brings me more joy than helping

up-and-coming chefs find success.

That's why I became a restaurateur,

and that's why my husband Rick and I...

Come here Rick. He's shy.

That's why my husband Rick and I created

this fun and festive competition.

Now, the rules of the Kringle Cook-Off are simple.

Each of you will be matched with a seasoned chef as your mentor,

to help guide you for the next two weeks,

in order to create an exquisite three-course holiday menu.

Whoever impresses the judges the most

will serve their spectacular dishes

at our annual Christmas Eve party.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,

so make the most of it.

And don't forget to have fun.

And add a dash of Christmas seasoning to every plate.

Now

it is time to match you with your mentors.

Kate McCartney,

you will be matched with Chef Alfonso.

Alicia Gellar, you will be matched with...

Not him, not him, not him, not him

Chef Logan Forrest.

Well... this should be fun.

Gellar,

9 a.m. tomorrow at the Old Stone. Capiche?

Logan.

Chef Logan.

I am so sorry about the other night.

I didn't know who you were.

I shouldn't have called you smug and irritating.

It's all right. Gordon Ramsay's called me much worse.

So, tomorrow?

Yes, Chef. 9 a.m., I'll be there.

Logan?

Hi, Viola, Rick.

It is so nice to meet you both.

I am such a huge fan, truly.

Alicia, it is our pleasure.

We're just so grateful that you were able to take part

in this so last minute.

Of course. I wouldn't miss it.

Well, we cannot wait to see what you two create together,

so no pressure.

And please, don't be intimidated by all the glitz, okay?

At the end of the day,

this competition is about cooking delicious food

and delighting in the Christmas season.

Delighting or avoiding.

Ignore him. Logan's been a scrooge

ever since we first met, but we still love him anyway.

One of the contestants is calling us over.

Oh. Of course, he is.

Alicia, it was so nice to meet you,

and we'll be in touch.

Good luck.

9 a.m., sharp.

Hello?

I'm in the kitchen.

That was a warm, nice greeting.

Good morning.

Good morning, mentee. Here, put this on.

So, I was

brainstorming last night about what the menu could be,

and I was thinking a casserole...

Not so fast, Gellar.

First, I need to see you can actually cook.

Excuse me?

I have laid out 13 ingredients.

You need to cook me a delicious dish

with only these ingredients.

Um, okay, can I have some time to prepare?

No. That's the point.

I need to make sure you can cook under pressure.

This competition is not the senior center.

You have... 45 minutes.

- Seriously? - I don't joke in the kitchen.

Starting now.

And... done.

Fish is a bit dry.

Vegetables are soggy.

Okay. Um, what about the sauce?

It's okay. A little bland.

If, we're going to have a chance of winning this,

let's take risks.

Well, if I had time to...

Where were you trained again?

I'm self-taught.

Right. Okay.

Look, I don't want to be mean,

but the Kringle cook-off requires excellence,

and I just don't think you're ready yet.

Maybe my dish was bland because you chose

unoriginal ingredients.

Oh, so it's my fault you made a mediocre dish?

No, it's your fault you're a bad teacher.

You know, if this were Hogwarts, you'd be Snape.

Yeah, he's the best. He's... He's a hero.

What?

Did you not read the books?

- Of course not. I'm an adult. - Oh, wow. Okay, strike two.

Okay, you know what?

- I don't need this. - What are you doing?

A good teacher doesn't set their student up to fail.

You're leaving, seriously?

You are just like every other cynical chef in this city.

Oh, good, you've come to your senses.

Having a fun first day?

William. Don't even get me started.

She just walked out.

I was teaching her a lesson

on the importance of cooking under pressure.

She said I was setting her up to fail.

Were you?

No.

I mean, maybe a little,

but that is how cooks learn to get better.

She is too sensitive to make it as a real chef.

Well, not every chef needs to be cutthroat

and emotionally closed off in order to thrive, you know.

She's not even professionally trained.

Neither were you.

So, she's pretty strong-willed, huh?

Wow, that's one way to put it.

You ever get the sense that maybe she's had a hard life?

I have no idea. Why?

Just curious, that's all.

Look, it wasn't that long ago

that you needed a mentor to support you, to teach you,

to encourage you to be the best that you could be.

Do you think you'd be where you are

if Viola didn't nurture your gift?

No.

Exactly.

So,

get off that high horse and make things right.

All right?

My man.

Ah... All right.

- So, you just left? - Yeah!

He was being a total jerk.

Are you insane?

What about the competition?

You're still going to compete, right?

I plan to, but I do not know

how I'm gonna work with him.

He's infuriating.

Come on, you can't let some ego-driven nitwit

mess this opportunity up for you.

It's a chance of a lifetime.

He's right, Lish'. Every chef has an ego.

I thought Bobby was a knob the first time I met him.

Are you sure you're just not

looking for a reason to quit?

No. I mean

I don't know.

Ever since, you know...

I just... I haven't felt totally confident

in the kitchen, and after what happened today,

maybe he's right.

Maybe I am not meant to be a real chef.

Maybe I am mediocre.

Stop. Don't go there. It's been two years now.

And it wasn't your fault, okay?

Cooking is your calling.

It's time for you to prove to yourself

that you're one of the most talented chefs in Chicago.

Okay. Okay. I'll try.

Good!

Thanks, Bobby.

Well, here goes nothing...

Oh. Hey...

I got one.

Nice.

So, um, I got something in the mail today.

Oh, yeah? What's that?

It's actually, silly.

Should I be worried?

No, no.

It's a surprise, for Christmas.

I thought we agreed to keep Christmas low-key this year.

Don't worry, it's not a big deal.

Good.

I got another piece.

Yeah, keep these, continue down.

I think we need to get those bulbs replaced and then...

Excuse me. Well, look who it is.

You ready to get back to work?

That depends. Are you ready to apologize?

Okay.

I am sorry that I was a bit harsh yesterday.

I was just trying to make sure you were actually, truly ready.

Watch and learn.

Still think I'm not cut out for the competition?

Where did you learn to do this?

I told you, I'm self-taught.

I know, but how?

I read cookbooks obsessively as a kid.

I wanted to learn the complexity of flavors

and the different techniques that would elevate a dish.

I know, but how did you learn?

Eventually, I started cooking with my parents.

My mother was my sous chef.

It was my favorite part of the day,

learning new recipes with her.

Cooking means everything to me.

It's what I love to do

and what I'm good at, especially at Christmas.

I deserve to be in this competition.

You're right.

I am?

Look, I'm sorry about yesterday.

I didn't mean to be a jerk.

It's my job to make you

the best chef possible, to push you out of your comfort zone.

I get that. But for this to work,

you have to start treating me like an equal.

This isn't Hell's Kitchen.

I know. I just...

I really want to win this.

There are some people who think the only reason

I have any success as a chef

is because Viola has coddled me my whole career. I...

I need this.

And you don't think I want to win too?

This could change my entire life.

Can we start over? I will be on my best behavior,

I... I promise.

And, uh

what are the odds

that you won't tell anybody that I'm a secret Potter head?

Highly, highly unlikely.

You should read the books, though. They are fantastic.

This is fun.

This is creative. This is playful.

And this bite, with the popcorn right here,

it's perfection.

Oh, it's coming.

This is good.

Or maybe the main course

could be a New York strip roast

with rosemary orange crust and herb and butter.

Yeah, that sounds a little too much like Sunday dinner.

I think we need to lean more into the fine dining

oysters, caviar, lamb.

Oysters and caviar? That sounds so pretentious.

The clientele that come to this party are pretentious.

I mean, have you seen the guest list?

Look, I don't care if Oprah is on that list.

This is a Christmas Eve party.

The food should feel festive.

Don't tell me you're one of those Christmas-loving lunatics.

Sue me for finding joy in the holiday season.

Great.

Look, I know that this is

a Christmas party we're creating a menu for,

but that doesn't mean the food needs to be shaped

like reindeer, okay?

Christmas is for kids. We're cooking for adults.

No one outgrows Christmas. That's the beauty of it.

The holiday season is meant to make you feel like a kid again,

and I want the people on that guest list

to feel that way, too.

Well, not everybody associates Christmas with good memories.

I'm sorry. Do you want to talk about it?

I'm a great listener.

No. I prefer to stuff my feelings down,

like a normal person.

Can we get back to the menu, please?

All right, you know what we need to do?

We need to give our taste buds inspiration.

- What? - Yeah.

Sitting here, disagreeing isn't getting us anywhere,

so let's take a stroll.

A stroll? Where?

Okay.

I should have known.

I am telling you the food is out of this world.

Let me guess, candy cane ice cream

and Santa-shaped gingerbread.

Can you please just give it a chance?

All right, 20 minutes, then we're getting back to work.

Got it?

Deal. Come on.

All right, let's go.

One, two, three.

Merry Christmas!

I don't know how I've never been here before.

It's unreal. Chicago knows how to eat.

See? Just because it's not caviar

doesn't mean that you can't impress.

I think between

your fine dining expertise and my home-style cooking,

we could create a show-stopping menu,

something that the judges would never expect

upscale and festive.

Actually, that's not a bad idea.

But that does not mean we are going full-throttle Christmas.

I mean, just because I did not despise this experience

doesn't mean I am suddenly Cindy Lou Who.

Well, thank you for clarifying.

So, um

what's your story, anyway?

How did you learn to cook?

Well, when I was a kid, about 13 Viola was volunteering

at a drop-in center for troubled youth

that I was spending some time at,

and we just kind of bonded immediately.

And eventually, she took me under her wing

and started giving me cooking lessons twice a week

as a way to keep me out of trouble. And as I got older,

I started getting pretty good, you know,

on all these local culinary competitions.

So, when I graduated high school,

Viola got me a job in the kitchen at the Garnet

and worked my way up from there.

- Wow. That's awesome. - Yeah.

Viola must have really seen something in you.

Yeah. I mean, nobody has believed in me the way she did.

I owe her everything.

Well, your parents must be so proud of you.

I don't really see them, actually.

Oh. Oh, my gosh, I am so sorry.

No, no, no, it's fine. I had a...

I had a rather dysfunctional family growing up.

I never fit in at school. I was always getting in trouble.

And cooking gave me that sense of belonging.

I don't even want to think where I'd be without it.

See?

That wasn't so bad.

I haven't talked about that stuff in a long time.

I mean, sorry to unload.

If it makes you feel any better, I, too, was a misfit at school.

- Oh, I doubt that. - No, it's true.

Kids would bully me all the time for being adopted,

and it didn't help that I was

the only one in my class that was mixed.

Cooking, for me, was my escape.

I didn't know you were adopted.

It's not exactly on my resume.

Wow.

I mean, do you know anything about your birth parents?

I actually just did a DNA test.

I doubt it'll say something.

- Yeah. - Logan?

- Hey. - Yo, Logan.

I never thought I'd see the day, Logan Forrest

at a Christmas market.

I was dragged here against my will.

Hey, you're one of the chefs in the Kringle Cook-Off.

Yeah. How do you know?

Oh, our parents are Rick and Viola.

They always give us a rundown on all the contestants.

Wow. So, you two are Kringles?

Yes, this is Kemi and Michael.

What are you guys doing here?

Enjoying the Christmas season?

Is that such a hard concept to grasp?

Well, okay, we have to get back to the restaurant,

and I will see both of you very soon.

We better.

He often goes into hiding this time of year,

so keep an eye on him.

- Oh, I will. - Bye.

We have to get back to work.

- Just take one... - Yes, yes.

You know what? I'm just going to take...

- Just the whole... - Yeah, just take it.

Here, try this.

Mmm, that's good.

But it needs a little something.

Oh, um, what about the sage you bought today?

Oh, that could work. Good idea.

Shoot.

Ah, it's getting late. I gotta get home to my dad.

You live with your dad?

We bought a duplex together last year.

He lives next door.

So, what's the rush?

We play board games together on Tuesday nights.

Go ahead, make fun.

No, that's... That's really nice, actually.

Yeah, let's call it a day.

And thank you,

for dragging me out today.

I haven't been that inspired to cook in a while.

No problem. I'm glad you liked it.

Sorry, I am late.

Got held up at the grocery store.

It's all right.

I decided to get started on my blackberry chutney.

That looks really good.

When did we decide on blackberry chutney?

Well, I was thinking, we could do lamb chops

with blackberry chutney,

and nutmeg Brussel sprouts

for the main course to show Viola and Rick.

Okay. But...

I just got scallops.

Scallops?

What happened to creating something with a festive flair?

Who says scallops can't be Christmassy?

Okay, how about you cook your dish, I cook my dish,

and when Viola and Rick get here,

they try both, tell us which one they like more,

and not know who cooked what?

A competition.

We can settle this Christmas-themed menu debate

once and for all.

Okay, you got a deal.

And the loser has to do a dare of the winner's choosing.

A dare? What is this? Fifth grade?

Just trying to heighten the stakes,

make sure you're really confident about this

festive dish.

Okay. You're on.

Okay, we have two hours before they get here.

Let's get moving.

Okay.

You're going down.

I don't know about that.

So, one is yours and one is Alicia's?

- Correct. - This is a first.

Please be honest. I want as much feedback as I can get.

They both look fantastic.

Well, hopefully, they taste as good as they look.

Hope you're ready to go streaking down the River walk.

Mmm.

- Oh, nice coat. - Mm-hmm.

Get in there.

Okay. Mmm.

All right, we've made our choice.

They were both delicious.

Truly exquisite, really.

But

the lamb chop with chutney is the winner.

Really? Mine?

Wait, seriously?

Well, done, Alicia. We are very impressed.

Thank you.

Wait, wait, hold on. Why hers?

Alicia's is more festive and comforting,

like a warm blanket.

And the presentation with the red chutney

and the green sprouts, it's like Christmas on a plate.

Very delicious and very innovative.

- Keep up the good work. - I will, I promise.

The only thing I would say

is to think about adding another item to the plate,

another splash of color.

Got it, thanks.

Are you going to be okay or should I call a psychiatrist?

I'll survive.

Make sure you gloat as much as possible

because Logan is not used to losing.

Oh, I plan to.

Excellent job today, Alicia.

Well, you were right.

Christmas-y is the way to go. Congratulations.

I can't believe Viola and Rick liked what I made.

Well, don't be surprised. You are really talented.

So, what's my punishment?

Grab your coat.

I can't believe you're making me do this.

Rules are rules.

Plus it helps me cross it off the list.

The list?

Before my mom died two years ago,

she made my dad and I promise

to continue doing our Christmas traditions.

We didn't do it last year

because we were still grieving, but this year,

I want to make sure I don't break my promise.

Wow. I think it's only fair that you join me on stage.

- Nice try. - No, I'm serious.

Your mom wanted you to experience that list,

not just watch.

You are joining me on stage.

Next up,

we have Logan Forrest with "Jingle bells".

Oh, thank you very much.

I'd like to welcome to the stage our musical guest...

Alicia Gellar. Maestro?

You know you want to. It's happening.

- Okay. - Here we go.

- Oh my God. - We got this.

Merry Christmas!

So, then, I had to rewrap all of my gifts,

so my parents wouldn't notice.

I still carry the guilt.

Hey, I really appreciate you getting up there tonight.

It really means a lot.

Well, is there anything else I can help check off the list?

- Really? - I mean, sure.

Clearly, I have to get into the Christmas spirit quick,

if we're gonna have a chance of winning this.

So... what else you got?

What is your favorite Christmas tradition?

Well

it used to be baking a sweet potato casserole

with my mom every year. But in terms of the list,

it's either Christmas Pictionary

or decorating the tree. You pick.

Decorating the tree. Done.

Are you serious?

Well, as long as I get to put the star on top.

- Come on! - Okay.

Uh, maybe... Oh.

- Here? - Yeah.

Okay.

And...

And, uh, what is this one supposed to be?

It's baby Jesus.

This is baby Jesus? It looks like a burrito.

Yeah, he's wrapped in a blanket.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way,

but I really hope that you keep cooking as your creative outlet.

Some of these ornaments are going to give me nightmares.

- Come on, I was ten. - Ten?!

That makes it so much worse!

Gosh, just hand me an ornament, please.

Hey, I'm wondering if, uh... Oh, sorry to interrupt.

I didn't know you had guests.

Oh, Dad, this is Logan.

He's my mentor for the cook-off.

Nice to meet you, sir.

I've heard a lot about you.

- Oh, please, call me Ken. - Oh, Ken.

Well, that's easy to remember.

Favorite baseball player was Ken Holtzman.

Ken Holtzman, now you're speaking my language.

He was the best lefty to ever pitch here.

He should be in the Hall of Fame.

Absolutely.

Did you want to help us finish decorating the tree?

Uh, you two seem like you're on a roll.

No, please, join us.

Alicia said you used to work for the Chicago Globe.

I would love to hear about your time there.

You sure I wouldn't be intruding?

Positive.

Just for a minute.

- All right. - Let me see.

Oh, here's a spot.

Thank you so much, Logan.

You didn't have to.

I know, but... I wanted to. Also, your dad is awesome.

I'm so glad he stuck around to help decorate.

Thanks to you.

Well, I know how much it meant to you... and your mom.

Anyway...

I'll see you tomorrow.

Just, uh...

- Hey, Logan! - Hey.

What are you doing here?

Did we have a meeting I forgot about?

No, just a quick question.

- Shoot. - Do you know why Alicia

hasn't worked in a kitchen in two years?

No. Her last cooking job was at Vinnie's.

It closed down the same year she left,

so I assume that's why she stopped working there.

Why don't you just ask her?

I don't want to ask her something

that might make her uncomfortable.

Wow. You're worried about how it might make her feel?

Is this the same guy who begged not to be matched with her?

- No. - Hmm.

No, not the same guy.

Look, I'm sure it's nothing, but why does it matter anyway?

She's great at what she does right?

Right.

Oh, by the way,

you're coming to tomorrow's Christmas games night, right?

I just sent out e-vites to all the contestants.

I hope it's not too short notice.

Ah... we'll see. Alicia and I still have a lot of work to do.

No, no, no, not this year. No excuses.

Fine. If Alicia wants to go, I'll go.

Perfect. We'll see you then.

Ooh, I think somebody has a crush.

I think you're right.

Hey, I'd love some more cheddar.

Yes. Thank you.

Alicia?

Hey!

Hey, Kate! It's so nice to see you!

Um, how are things going with you and Alfonso?

Oh, uh, they're pretty good.

I mean, he's a bit too serious for my taste,

but I'm learning a lot.

How about you? How's Logan?

Good.

You know, Alfonso sure has a lot to say about him.

Yeah. What is up with those two?

Don't even get me started.

He thinks that Logan has been spoon-fed

his entire career by Viola

and that his success is a result of pure favoritism.

But Logan's a great chef.

I don't think Viola would champion someone

unless they deserved it.

Honestly, I think Alfonso is suspicious

and a little bit jealous.

Nah, Logan wants to win fair and square.

He has a great heart.

Anyway, tomorrow, will I see you at game night?

Ugh. I wish.

I have a family thing.

But please, say hello to Viola and Rick for me, would you?

Of course.

- Bye. - Bye.

Well, I still think

we need to add something to the main dish, like Viola said.

Uh, maybe a rice bowl.

I don't know.

She said that she wants to see a pop of color.

Okay, maybe...

Well, we still have a few days to figure it out.

Something wrong?

No, no. I'm just waiting

for the test results from my DNA test.

It's taking longer than I thought.

Nervous?

A little. I mostly feel guilty.

Guilty? Why?

I feel like I'm betraying my dad or something.

I mean, I have had the most amazing childhood.

That should be enough, right?

But I can't help, but feel there's a piece missing.

Well, it's normal to be curious. I would be, too.

But don't ever feel guilty about doing something for yourself.

I'm sure your dad would understand.

Yeah, maybe.

Hey, uh... can I...

Can I ask you a question?

I'm just wondering why you don't work in a kitchen anymore.

I mean, you are so talented. It just doesn't make sense.

Doesn't the senior center count?

You know what I mean. I mean, did something happen?

It's just... just it's an odd stage in your career

to take a break.

You can tell me.

This story requires a drink.

Yeah.

All right.

So

two years ago,

I worked at Vinny's.

I was a sous chef.

All I did was work.

My career was everything to me.

But then, my mom ended up getting sick

and I couldn't focus.

Owners started to take notice.

One day, after a really hard hospital visit with my mom,

a big-time food critic,

Joe Pinkney, came in to review the restaurant.

The head chef was off at the time

because this kid was in a recital,

so I ended up stepping in, and this was my moment to shine.

But I just couldn't stop thinking about my mom.

So, he gave my dish

and the restaurant a terrible review.

The restaurant took a major hit because of it

and eventually closed down.

I was fired immediately

and was told to find a new profession.

That broke me.

All of my hard work just gone.

I am so sorry that happened to you.

I completely lost my confidence as a chef.

But because of this competition and you...

I can feel it coming back.

Well, forget about Joe Pinkney. Forget about Vinny's.

You have a raw talent that I've rarely seen in somebody.

I wholeheartedly believe in your abilities.

If we win this thing or not,

you need to know that you are

a fantastic chef.

I feel lucky that I got to cook with you,

that I got to know you.

Win or lose, we're in this together.

Okay, so, the desserts

have to be Christmassy, but also original.

What about a multi-tiered style, like winter wonderland?

We could use white fondant to look like snow,

and you know, maybe like a peppermint candy cane filling.

Ooh, that sounds so good.

What do you think?

Okay, got any ideas for adding another dessert element?

Maybe making edible Christmas ornaments for the tree?

I thought you'd never ask.

What are the greatest Italian delicacies known to man?

- Struffoli. - Yes, of course!

I remember you made those for me once.

Are they the little baked cream puffs glazed in honey?

You got it.

You add a little bit of lemon to it,

and it's like forget about it.

Amazing. This is perfect. I'm so excited.

Okay, kid, let's do this.

All right.

Listen, you can use the mixer.

This is the old mixer right here, you know what I mean?

Yeah, let's just see how they turn out.

I love candy canes, Bobby.

I think for a little more wow factor, do a two-tier.

Great idea.

Something tight and small and tall will look great.

About five minutes on these?

Exactly. I taught you well.

So, I'm gonna go in a little bit harder with the knife.

Maybe we'll put a little bit of struffoli on it,

maybe a poinsettia.

Good shape.

That's gonna be great, Bobby.

Just a little razzle-dazzle like that.

What do you think?

Ooh...

Now, how's that for a festive dessert?

Viola's gonna love it.

You don't even need me anymore.

Bobby, this is perfect. Thanks so much, Bobby.

Just don't tell anyone my secrets.

Just between you, me, and your mentor guy.

His name is Logan. Oh, speaking of which,

I have to start getting ready. We have a games night tonight.

Games night? I thought you two

could hardly stand each other.

- We've gotten... friendlier. - Friendlier?

Are you saying what I think you're saying?

I don't know. Maybe.

- Still gotta figure it out. - Atta girl.

You deserve to find someone. As long as he treats you right

and he knows how to cook, then I'm happy.

Thanks, Bobby. I'll let you know all about it.

You better. Have fun.

Okay, bye.

Oh, Alicia!

Welcome, welcome!

- Come on in! - Hi, Michael.

- I'll take your coat. - Oh, great.

Can I get you something to drink?

- Yeah, I would love that. - Of course.

Everyone's in the living room. We're already playing charades.

Okay.

Just this way, in the living room.

Uh... Oh, construction worker!

Coal miner.

Elf!

Alicia!

Wow. You look stunning.

Wait. Am I the only contestant here?

Well...

Everybody else had to work, so that means more food for us!

Ah-ah-ah. Wait. Guests first. Welcome, Alicia.

You are just in time for Christmas Pictionary,

as per Logan's request.

Sounds great.

- Come, come, join everyone. - I guess I'll...

You look... really nice.

You, too.

- Alicia, this is my boyfriend. - Hi.

- Mark. - Nice to meet you.

And this is my niece, Josette.

Hi.

And this is my husband Daniel.

My grandpa was supposed to be here, too,

but he's late, as always.

Well, what do you say? Should we get set up?

Yeah.

You ready to win?

Always.

Okay, new teams. No more cheating.

We're still gonna beat you.

No, no. The Night... The Night before Christmas.

- Yes. - Uh...

- Sleeping! - No, no, no!

Sugarplum! A tree!

Vision of sugarplums! Christmas tree...

- Something going backwards. - Christmas...

Christmas...

Ahh! Ahh!

Christmas...

But it's something going backwards.

It's moving backwards.

It's Ghost of Christmas Past!

All right, all right! Pipe down.

I am getting more wine.

Phew!

I'm getting some, too.

- Well done. - That was stressful.

No, you were calm, cool, collected, and confident.

You're right, I was, wasn't I?

Yeah, born champion.

I'm really having a great time.

I feel like I'm a part of the family.

Oh, what is it?

It's my test results.

I'm gonna go read it.

Do you want me to come?

No, thank you. I should be alone.

Excuse me.

Okay, three points. Who's going next?

What? Uh, okay, am I being abducted?

- You like her. - What?

Just admit it, you like her.

Okay, you two, leave the man alone.

What?

- Everyone can see it, right? - Definitely.

See, even he saw it, and he thought Dan and I were just

good friends for three years.

Just say it.

Okay, fine. I-I like her.

Shh, relax.

I'm still her mentor. It's not professional.

Oh, come on.

- It's not like you're her boss. - She's right, Logan.

If you like her, you should tell her.

- I don't know. - Come on.

What? It's been five years since you were dating?

You have to learn to trust again.

Not everyone you love

is going to push you away when things get hard.

Give her a chance.

Okay, here goes

50% Jamaican.

30% English descent.

Wow.

Wait. What?

William?

My grandfather?

William?

- What are you doing here? - Alicia?

Wha...

Hi. How...?

I'm so confused. How did you know I was here?

- Grandpa! You made it! - Hi, sweetheart.

Dad, what took you so long?

What?

Alicia, this is my father, William.

Nice to see you again.

Oh, again.

Right, of course. You two already met

at the senior center.

Dad was the one who pushed for you to be our fourth competitor.

- Alicia, are you all right? - Hey!

Willie, looking dapper.

- Hey, did you get your results? - Um...

No.

The link didn't open.

I have to go home, actually.

- Home already? - Are you sure?

Is everything okay?

Yes. I just forgot I have to do something.

Viola, thank you for everything, but I really have to go.

Okay.

I hope everything is okay.

Okay, you in for a round?

- Come on. - Yes, yes, yes, yes.

Games night, games night. Party, party, come on.

I got that. Thank you.

Hey, kid.

Can we talk?

Yeah.

I'm so sorry about all this. I didn't mean to upset you.

Does anyone else know?

No, but I'm sure they would be ecstatic to find out, though.

The truth is,

a few years ago, I suffered a health scare

and needed heart surgery.

There was a possibility that I wouldn't make it out,

and I couldn't stop thinking about you,

my long-lost granddaughter.

I vowed that I would do everything in my power

to find you if I survived.

So, I took every

DNA test out there,

and when you didn't show up on any of those sites,

I hired a PI.

But it wasn't until I threw

a Christmas coin into that fountain, wishing for you,

that the phone finally rang.

It was a Christmas miracle.

Why didn't you tell me who you were when we met?

I don't know.

I guess I got scared.

But once I tasted your food,

I realized that the perfect way

for you to connect with everyone in an organic way

would be if you were part of the Kringle Cook-Off.

So, this is why you pushed for me to be in the competition?

That wasn't the only reason.

You are a great cook and everyone knows it.

So, is Rick my birth father?

Viola got pregnant in high school,

and as much as I wanted them to keep you,

they didn't think they would be able to provide for you.

I can't believe this.

Kemi and Michael are my full siblings?

This is a lot to take in.

I know.

So, what was your plan when I found out?

That we'd be one big happy family?

Yeah

kind of.

William, I don't know what to think.

My dad means everything to me.

This could hurt him.

And you don't know if they even want to meet me.

You don't have to do anything if you don't want.

I just wanted you to know

I prayed for you every night.

I guess I couldn't bear

the thought of going through my whole life

without ever meeting you.

William, thank you so much for searching for me.

Not a day went by

where I didn't wonder who my birth family was.

But for now, I'd like to keep this between you and me.

My dad doesn't need another curve ball in his life.

I mean, I'd still like for us to get to know each other, though.

I'd really like that.

You've got a lot going on right now.

Sorry I'm late.

My shift at the Senior Center went longer than expected.

That's quite all right.

Thank... you.

Logan, what are you doing?

I have an important question for you.

What can you make with these ingredients

sweet potatoes, pecans, brown sugar?

Wait.

Those are the ingredients for my mom and I's

sweet potato casserole.

How did you know?

I paid your dad a visit, got the recipe.

But why?

You seemed a little off the last two days.

I wanted to make you smile.

Plus, this just might be the pop of color that we need.

Logan, I...

I can't believe you did this.

I don't know what to say.

You don't need to say anything. But...

You do need to dance with me.

To a Christmas song?

Are you feeling all right?

Thanks to you, this is the first year

that I have felt the Christmas spirit.

You're showing me how special the holidays can be.

You know, I wake up and...

I am excited to see you, to cook with you.

You are the best part of my day.

I feel the same way about you.

Mmm. Penny for your thoughts?

Just have a lot on my mind.

Is this because of your one-on-one

cooking session today with Viola?

Yeah, sort of.

Oh. You should be excited.

Getting to spend quality time

with someone you idolize and seeing where they live?

I went to their house the other day, actually.

Oh. What for?

They hosted a holiday game night.

We ended up playing Christmas Pictionary, actually.

Hmm. Is that so?

I'm trying to cross everything off Mom's list.

I think she would want that.

I'm sorry if I've been a bit of a Grinch this Christmas.

Oh, it's okay, Dad. I get it.

Now, that I hear you're playing Christmas Pictionary

with another family, I can't help but feel a little jealous.

Don't go replacing me now.

I would never.

Logan Have fun, okay?

It's not a test.

She just wants to get to know each contestant

without us mentors around.

And if she asks how I've been, remember what we rehearsed.

"Logan is as great of a mentor as he is tall,"

"handsome, and funny."

Bingo. You'll do great. Talk to you soon.

Sounds good. Thanks.

Oh, hey you! Come on in. Let me take your coat.

So, first things first.

We need to chop up some onions, scallions,

two scotch bonnet chilies, and two garlic cloves.

And then, we'll grate some fresh nutmeg.

- Sounds delicious. - Fingers crossed.

So, how's the competition been going for you?

Oh... It's honestly been life-changing.

I almost don't want it to end.

Oh, really? That is so nice to hear.

When my dad told me you volunteer once a week

at a senior center and create these stunning dishes for them,

I was immediately drawn to you.

Most participants at the cook-off,

I mean, they forget that cooking isn't just about prestige;

It's about bringing people together.

You know, I volunteered at a center for troubled youth.

Yeah, Logan told me.

It was so inspiring to hear how much

you encouraged and helped them.

I started volunteering right after

right after a very hard time in my life.

Rick and I were struggling with a choice that we made

and I needed to immerse myself

in something that would bring me a sense of purpose.

Logan became that purpose.

Viola, there's something I probably should tell you.

Oh, what is it?

Um...

Um...

I'm allergic to nutmeg.

Oh. Oh, gosh.

Okay, well, we'll skip that step.

No need to worry yourself.

Hey.

Logan, what are you doing here?

Well, I wanted to see you. How did it go?

Great. Viola is amazing.

But...

No buts.

You're not nervous about the competition, are you?

You're going to be great.

It's not that.

What's going on, Alicia?

Did I do something?

You don't seem happy to see me. Is this about the other night?

Because...

Viola and Rick are my parents.

What?

My DNA test results came back.

I connected with William.

William is my grandfather.

Viola and Rick put me up for adoption in high school.

Wait. Viola and Rick Kringle... are your parents?

My birth parents.

Have you told them?

No. It just doesn't feel right to ruin their perfect lives.

Alicia, you're their daughter. Viola is your mom.

No, my mom is my mom.

You should tell them. They'd be ecstatic.

You don't know that.

Logan, can we please just drop it?

Wait, wait.

This is a big deal.

Yes. It's a lot to handle right now.

Logan, please...

I just... I need some space,

some time to think it through.

My dad is my family.

Is that what this is about? You don't want to hurt your dad?

You wouldn't get it.

'Cause I didn't grow up with a dad,

I couldn't possibly understand.

Logan, I didn't mean it like that.

Yeah, I think you did.

Can you please just let me deal with this myself?

- It's just too much. - I was just trying to help,

you know, be supportive, but...

Yeah, fine. Message received.

Morning.

Hey, Dad.

What are you doing up so early?

Well, I thought I'd make you breakfast for once,

since it's your big day.

- Aww. You didn't have to. - I know.

You worked so hard. I couldn't be prouder.

And I know your mom would be just over the moon.

And no matter what the results,

you'll always be the best chef in Chicago to me.

Thanks, Dad.

I'm looking forward to finally meeting these Kringles today.

Right. Yeah.

Anyway

make sure you eat before the competition.

Okay, okay. I will.

I'll see you in a little while.

Okay.

Go get 'em, kid.

Yeah, okay.

Hey!

- You got this. - Here goes...

- Hey! - Bobby!

What the heck are you doing here?

Your dad bought me a ticket. I mean, I couldn't miss

the chance to see my favorite apprentice compete.

I mean, this is huge!

- I'm so happy to see you. - Is everything okay?

Uh, I'm just so overwhelmed about everything.

I get it. That's the beauty of cooking.

Once you put that apron on, all your problems melt away.

I don't know if I can do this.

Yes, you can. This is what you were born for.

Now, go find your station, take a moment, and focus, okay?

Yes, Chef.

Go make me proud and show them who's boss.

- You got it. - All right?

Okay. Thank you so much.

Pretty cool, huh?

Yeah.

Uh, Logan, I tried to call.

I'm really sorry about the other night.

I'm sorry, too, but I wanted to give you space, like you asked.

Right.

The Old Stone needs me tonight, so I've got to duck out early.

But I'll see you at the Christmas party.

- Okay. - Two minutes, everybody!

Well, I just wanted

to come wish you luck, make sure you're not too nervous

about the surprise judge.

What do you mean? Who is it?

Joe Pinkney is the surprise judge.

Look, this is your opportunity to prove him wrong,

to prove all the people who ever doubted you wrong,

just like you proved me wrong.

Okay, okay, everyone.

It is time to get this show on the road.

If all mentors could please leave the cook-off area.

You have everything you need to win this thing.

You don't need me, you never did.

Just focus.

You got this.

All right, Chefs, welcome to the Kringle Cook-Off.

Yeah.

You each have two hours to put together your menu.

Once we have tasted all of your dishes, myself, Rick,

and our wonderful guest judge, Joe Pinkney,

will decide who deserves to be this year's.

Kringle Cook-Off champion.

I have enjoyed getting to know each of you

and can't wait to see where your careers take you next.

Now, the timer is going to start

in three, two, one, go!

Okay, Chefs,

time... is... up.

Please step back from your cooking station

and go mingle while we do our taste test.

You will be called back when we have reached our decision.

Oh, you did it, honey. Oh!

I am so relieved it's done.

You were amazing,

so in your element. I mean, you killed it.

Thanks, Bobby.

Unbelievable.

After what was one of

our quickest decisions in Kringle Cook-Off history,

we are proud and excited to announce

that this year's winner is

Alicia Gellar!

Oh, my girl is the Kringle Cook-Off champion!

I knew it!

And you must be Alicia's father.

It's an honor to meet you.

You have raised a wonderful young woman.

Thank you. I like to think so.

I have an extra ticket to the Christmas party tomorrow.

It would be marvelous if you could come.

That's very kind. Thank you.

- You're welcome. - Gentlemen,

might I have a word with Alicia for a moment?

Sure.

Alicia,

I just thought I would say, in case nobody already told you,

you did a fantastic job today.

Congratulations, seriously.

Thank you.

And look, I just wanted to clear the air.

I'm sorry about those harsh words I used

in that review a couple of years ago.

You were just doing your job.

I mean, I wasn't focused that night.

I should have been on my A-game.

I just hate that I was the reason

that the restaurant closed down.

Wait a minute. Is that what they told you?

That restaurant was in extreme debt.

The manager was spectacularly incompetent.

It closed because of bad business management.

It was nothing to do with my review.

Really? But they said that I was...

Well, they lied.

It wasn't your fault, at all.

Look, I'll let you get back to your family,

a proud family, I'm sure. Sincerely, Alicia,

I look forward to dining

at whatever restaurant you decide to cook in next.

Well done.

Thank you.

Hey, congrats.

So good. So good.

Congratulations, girl. Oh!

Your dish was out of this world.

It was spectacular. Literally, so good.

Thank you.

See you tomorrow night, kid.

There will be servers on staff to get your dishes to everyone.

Great. Looking forward to it.

Us too. Have a good night.

Night.

Look at this. Isn't this amazing?

Come right on in.

All right. Here you go.

Thank you.

You have to try these.

These are ready to go.

Everyone is raving about your meal.

I've already had several people ask where you plan to work.

You're a star.

I don't know about that.

I do. You and Logan made a great team.

I know he's on his way.

Come, join everyone.

It's time to relax and enjoy yourself.

It's a beautiful night.

Anything can happen on Christmas Eve.

Everyone, if I can have your attention, please.

I would like to introduce Chef Alicia Gellar.

And please, please, enjoy the rest of your evening

and her fantastic dessert.

Now, you two, what have you boys been talking about over here?

Well, Ken was just telling me that the sweet potato casserole,

which was fabulous,

was a dish that Alicia and her mother made every Christmas.

I didn't know that.

You should have invited her.

Oh, well, she passed away two years ago.

Oh. I'm so sorry. My condolences.

She would have been so proud of Alicia today.

I wish she could have been here.

I suppose, in some way, she is.

I carry her photo around with me everywhere I go.

Can I see?

Oh, of course.

Wow.

- Gorgeous. - She is beautiful.

Wait, Alicia, are you adopted?

Um, yes, I am.

Oh, we had... we had no idea.

Oh, Brigham and Women's Hospital, December 28th

1987.

Mom?

I'm sorry. I should have told you.

No, I should have.

A few years ago I started searching for Alicia,

and I finally found her a few weeks ago.

What?

Alicia is your daughter.

Dad, how could you do this without telling me?

I...

I'm sorry.

Excuse me.

Al...

It's okay.

- Dad, you don't understand. - I do. I know.

I've known for a few days.

What? How?

I overheard you and Logan.

But you didn't say anything.

I was waiting for you to tell me.

Are you mad?

Oh, honey, of course not.

Why would I be mad at you?

I don't want you to think

that I'm trying to replace you or something.

I was just curious about where I came from.

I've been curious, too.

- You have? - Mm-hmm.

I've always wanted to meet the people

who created my favorite person in the whole world.

I miss Mom.

I know.

Me too.

Do you think she'll be upset?

Your mother will always be proud of you, Al

just as long as you stay true to yourself

and always follow your heart.

I don't know what to do now.

Everything is just such a mess.

Logan doesn't want to have anything to do with me.

He'll come to his senses. He's just scared, same as you.

But love always finds a way.

Okay? Hmm?

You ready to go back and deal with this?

- All right, come on. - Yeah.

She realized who I was during the games night.

That's why she left early.

This is insane. I can't...

Why didn't you tell us?

It couldn't just be my decision alone.

I needed to know she was okay with it.

I was just so desperate to find her and make sure she was okay.

I'm sorry.

It's okay, Dad.

I'm glad you did.

I've been wondering where she is for a long time.

- That's our baby girl. - That's our baby girl.

- Let's go find her. - Yeah.

Where is she?

- Watch your step here. - Thanks, Dad.

You've got this.

Hey.

Hey, you two.

Bring it in.

Oh, welcome to the family.

Yes.

I can't believe that it's really you.

I know. I'm so sorry you had to find out this way.

No. We're just so happy to finally meet you.

Ken

thank you so much for raising

just a wonderful, wonderful person.

That's very kind of you to say.

Hey, isn't that Logan?

It is.

I have a feeling he isn't here to see us.

Come on, let's go.

Come on. Come on.

Sorry, I'm late.

I didn't think you would show.

What? And miss your big moment. How does it feel?

It's incredible. My Christmas wish came true

I know who my birth parents are.

Yes.

And I know who I am a real chef.

I'm sorry for pushing you away.

I feel the same way.

The night we met,

I threw that silly Christmas token into the fountain

and I wished that I would find somebody

who would help me believe in love again.

Alicia...

I think I'm falling in love with you.

Really?

You mean a lot to me, and I'm falling in love with you, too.

Really?

Yes, Chef.

Take a picture, it'll last longer.

- Flip it. - What?!

- No. You've got to flip it. - No, it's perfect.

- You're gonna burn it. - It's perfect.

All right, who wants bacon?

I got some bacon over here.

Michael, can I have a plate?

You guys, we should do a toast.

Thank you. Okay, on three, cheers.

One, two, three.

Cheers.
