So, they invited me to come speak
and answer some questions,

so I'm really happy to be here.

and forged my parents' names

and you also tend to your own wellness

and are very open about it to the public.

I'm so honored.

I love nostalgia,

so I love going back to my old school

and seeing the campus
and how it's evolved.

But on top of all of that,
I think that a really fun part of this

is just being able to talk
to the current students

and give my word of advice on how
I've dealt with my mental health journey.

So, I love it
and I'm, I'm honored to be a part of it.

When you attended Sierra Canyon,
you openly shared about struggling with

self-image and insecurities
that high school brings.

Can you share some strategies that
kinda help you manage social media?

I take breaks a lot.

I love to delete
the Instagram app outta my phone

or, especially TikTok or Twitter.

Maybe, like, the first day
is a little bit of a shock

'cause you're going through your phone
and you're kinda naturally

looking for that app,
but it feels so incredible

after the first day or two

and going at least a couple days
or a week without it

is one of the most liberating
and amazing feelings.

It's actually just so good for your brain

to turn it off for a little while
and, um, be in the real world

and realize that a lotta
the things you see on there

are just not legit, not real.

And that the only things
that matter around you

are the people around you
and your environment, so...

I think, right now,
for kids in high school,

I think with social media, especially,

we can all fall into, like,
negative patterns on the internet

and, ya know, see things
that we don't really care to see

that might bring us down,
so I like to just remove myself, um,

so I find it very healthy.
I like doing it.

[student] Do you think
you could share a personal moment

when you felt like
addressing your mental health

positively impacted your career?

[Kendall]
What was interesting, I think,

when I started to open up about

I guess my, my mental health
publicly was I didn't--

I was doing it out of genuine, like,
"This is kinda how I feel."

And I always had
this weird thing about like,

"How much do I wanna share?"
I'm-I'm a relatively more private person.

Something just kinda
came over me one day.

I kinda started sharing things

and the positive thing
that I saw come out of it

was making other people feel less alone.

It, it was well-received
in a way that wasn't about me.

It was about everybody else feeling like,

"Oh, wow, this makes me
feel a little bit less alone

or a little bit better
about what I'm dealing with."

That was really nice.

I think it's really special
that Kendall can revisit her high school

to share her message about how she feels
and deals with anxiety and mental health

and all these things that were
so taboo to talk about back in the day.

And I was so proud of her.
