My birthday.

[Mary] Your birthday!

[encouraging] Four years old?

Let me see what
a four-year-old looks like.

Where we gonna go today?

Um...

At the bus.

[Mary] To the park.

And who's gonna be there?

You and me.

And all my friends.

[Mary] All your friends!

Ah! Hit on it. Just throw it.

[child singing]

[Brittney Fisher] I need...

[children exclaiming]

This park is right in between

where the Fishers lived
and where we lived.

My daughter, Malory,
and Brittney

were in kindergarten
or first grade together.

And our families
became good friends.

Robert and Mary...

...they were
just the nicest people.

We had our own relationship
outside of the kids.

On a weekend we'd go to lunch,

go swimming,
we'd go to a baseball game.

Just spending time.

Letting the kids play.

This is the park
where we'd have
the kids' birthday parties.

[woman] Woah, good one!

[child] My turn!

Candyland game!

[Lori Greenbeck] They were
a part of our lives
for so many years.

[crowd singing] Happy birthday
to you!

[phone dialing]

[emergency responder]
911 emergency.

[man] 74 street and Oak.

There was just an explosion...

...and a fire.

[emergency responder]
Can you see it?

[man] Big fire.
You bet I can see it.

[phone dialing]

[woman] It's...
It's a big fire.

It's a really big fire.
Behind it just, like, blew up.

The whole house is burning up.

[opening theme playing]

[Lori Greenbeck]
I was still at home.

And my husband
was at the office...

...and he called,

and he said, "Have
you heard from Mary
this morning?"

I'm like, "No."

He said, "Well,
have you seen
on the TV?"

And I did happen
to have the TV on.

[reporter] Well, we're, uh,
up over this house--

[Greenbeck] And he said,
"That's Mary's house."

I thought, "Oh, my gosh.

She is gonna be having
the worst day ever."

[John Heinzelman] About 8:30
in the morning on April 10th,

Scottsdale police
received several 911 calls
of an explosion.

A house was fully engulfed.

[siren wailing]

The neighborhood
is sort of a single-family,

uh, small, maybe three-bedroom
ranch homes.

Houses are relatively
close together,

so we've gotta keep
this contained.

[emergency responder speaking]

[man speaking]

[woman speaking]

[sirens wailing]

[Phil Rust] This was not
like your typical...

...gas explosion
that maybe involves
a part of a house.

This was huge.

It's a home
that's still burning.

There's rubble everywhere.

The home is...
half of it's collapsed.

Walls are blown out.

[Joe LeDuc] I do remember
looking at the scene.

There was a lot of anxiety.
People were gathering.

It was a... very daunting,
almost surreal scene.

[Heinzelman]
It's dramatic devastation.

What happened here?
Was this an accident?

Was this a gas leak?
Was this something else?

And your first thing
you try to do
is find the homeowner

to say "Okay, who lives here
and where are they?"

Because if they're
not out here...

...they're still inside.

[reporter] The house
completely engulfed in flames.

As we were able
to, uh... to speak with some
of the neighbors,

we discovered that,
um, the home was owned
by a... a young family,

Robert and Mary Fisher,
and their two children,
Brittney and Bobby.

Brittney was about 12
at the time,
and Bobby was about 10.

[Greenbeck] I was in shock.

I said, "Ok,
well, I'll be right there.

And we'll go down, you know."

So, my husband and I
went down to her house.

And it was still smoldering.

and by this time,
there's a little
crowd gathering.

And, you know,
there was all the police
and firefighters.

Very shortly after that
Mary's parents arrived.

They had called the school,

and Bobby and Brittney
aren't at school.

And nobody knows
where Robert and Mary are.

The detective came out

and said, "Well we've...
we've found some bodies."

You know, so I was...
I was in shock.

I was in complete shock.

Somebody was home?

I was just beside myself,
and I knew I was just gonna...

...collapse.

I mean, I look at my husband

and he's, like...
he's like welling up.

[crying] It was terrible.

[strained] Yeah.

[Hugh Lockerby] I've been
on a lot of different fires
over my career,

and the smell of fire...

...and burning bodies
um, is just something
that you just never forget.

It never leaves you,
it... it just doesn't.

And you can't really
distinguish these bodies.

You just... You couldn't
at the time.

A lot of unknowns.

So it's gonna be a long day.

[Greenbeck] This is the last
picture anybody has of 'em.

Yeah, this is how
I remember 'em.

They were a sweet
little family.

Mary had a deep faith,
Robert as well.

And the kids were raised
that way.

Robert was always friendly,
he could talk to anybody.

He had a great relationship
with the kids.

[Robert Fisher] Hey,
listen to it! Put it up
to your ear and listen.

[children exclaiming]

[Greenbeck] And Mary,
she just wanted to be a wife
and a mother...

...raise her kids.

She was very pretty.

And her personality...

[chuckles]
...made her prettier.

[crying] Yeah, that's hard.

[Heinzelman] Once the remains
were removed
from the house...

...they were determined...

...to be three bodies.

One of the family members
was missing.

DNA is obviously
in its early infancy,

so another way of identifying
people is through
dental records.

So we're waiting
for the dentist to make
a positive identification.

There is Robert's truck
that was in the driveway.

But the neighbors had
also said Mary's 4Runner
is missing.

I mean, he never drives
her... her 4Runner,
she never drives his truck.

So it had to be Robert
that was home.

I remember calling
our supervisor at the time,

and I remember her being
very emotional on the phone
and very upset.

And she was crying
and she said,

"You know, we think
that Bob's been killed."

At the scene, the detective
thought maybe they died
from smoke inhalation.

Then once they removed
their bodies...

...that's when they knew
something more horrific
had happened.

There was blood
on the mattresses

underneath each
of the three victims.

So, they appeared
to have been bleeding

probably before
the fire had started.

I remember
the detective saying...

...you know, like...

..."We got a homicide now."

They found that the flex line
that supplies the natural gas
to the furnace

had been not broken
but physically unscrewed.

Now that cannot be accidental.

That just cannot be.

Someone had left
this gas line open

and allowed the house
to fill with gas.

The ignition device...

...appears to be a candle
that was placed at the end
of the hallway...

...near the bedrooms.

It's what they call
a delay device.

'Cause...

...if you're setting
something like this up,

you... you wanna make sure
you have an escape route.

It would take several hours
for the natural gas
to get to the ignition source.

So that when
the natural gas...

...eventually migrated
to that end of the house...

...it would ignite.

This is just not
your normal homicide scene,

this is one where you have
fire that's been introduced
as a means to cover it up.

I remember thinking,
"You've got to be kidding me."

I thought it was
a tragic accident.

I would've bet
my pension on it,

I would've bet my life on it.

What ended up happening...

...there's no way
I would've imagined that.

We were just trying to...

...hold out hope
that somebody's made it.

And they're still lookin'
for Mary.

Mary always drive
the silver 4Runner.

Why is Robert's truck
still here?

So we need to find Mary,
where is she?

Everybody's thinking
"Mary's gonna walk
in the door any minute."

The victims,
they were identified

as Bobby Fisher,
Brittney Fisher...

...and their mother,
Mary Fisher.

Bobby Junior and Brittney...

...they did not die
from the fire.

They died from their throats
being cut and slashed.

Mary also had a gunshot
wound to the back of her head.

[Heinzelman] This was
a brutal attack.

This was somebody calculated
and somebody that's got
a motive.

Who else could walk into,
uh, someone's house

and literally slash
throats of children
while they're asleep?

It's, uh... it's unimaginable.

Say hi!

[Mary] You know
who's missing out
of this picture?

Daddy!

-Daddy, baby.
-Daddy.

[Greenbeck] Oh, my god.

Robert, he was gonna
be devastated.

He lost his entire family...

...his entire family
in one day.

And he wasn't there.

He wasn't there to help,

to save his kids...

...to save his wife,

He was going
to be completely
beside himself.

-[Mary] Hello.
-[Robert] See you, Mom.

[kissing sounds]

Be back Sunday mornin'.

[Heinzelman]
Where is Robert Fisher?

We need to find him
as quick as possible.

We had learned
that Robert was,
um, an avid outdoorsman.

He was a hunter, a fisher.

He could live by himself
off the grid.

Maybe he's on a hunting trip
in the woods, for example,

camping for three days
and didn't have any
cell service.

[Robert] Buh-bye, baby!

[Mary] Bye, Rob.

Be safe.

[Brittney] Buh-bye!

[Mary] Love you.

[Brittney] Dada.

We need to find him
and tell him
what happened here.

[Lockerby] We need to make
sure that he's okay.

Was he involved
in something else

that someone took him hostage
or kidnapped him?

Is there something else
going on?

[Greenbeck] He did go,
you know, hunting.

And he did go
by himself a lot.

So, it wasn't unusual
that he would be gone.

But we were determined
to find him.

Mary's father, uh,
really big hearted man,

a day, or two days, after
went and spoke to the cameras.

[shaking] Robert.

We love you.

Wherever you are, Robert...

...please...

...we... we love you.

Just... Just come home,
please, Robert.

[Lockerby] We all interviewed
people that lived near
the Fishers.

Talking with the neighbors,
Robert always drove the truck.

Detective's learn
that he had, even, recently
gotten his oil changed.

So... why is Robert's
truck still here?

Why wouldn't he leave
in his own truck
that he was comfortable in?

My husband and I,
we get back to our office
and not 10 minutes later...

...Scottsdale detectives
walk in the door.

And they start asking
questions like,

"Where do you think
Robert could be?"

And we're like, "Oh, my god,

They think Robert did it."

It was just one shock
after another.

There's no way it was Robert.

No way. No way.

He... [stutters]
There's an explanation
for this.

Something else happened.

This is our friend.

Mary would be mortified

if she thought we thought
something like that
about Robert.

Officers, detectives,
interviewed all the neighbors

that lived
in that neighborhood.

And what they learn
is the Fishers
are a very typical

church-going family.

Kids are... are good kids.

Mama.

[Lockerby] They seem to be
just a normal family.

We learn that he was
in the Navy.

He tried for the Navy SEALS,
and got washed out.

He had been
a firefighter previously.

He had had back surgery
from an injury when he was
a firefighter

Sometimes he'd be
in a lot of pain.

And sometimes he wouldn't be.

But he walked
with an upright walk.

He had distinct posture.

His chest was sticking out.

He had some back
surgery scars.

And he also had
some dental work.

He was missing a tooth,
he actually had a gold tooth.

Detectives eventually
go to Robert's work

which is the Mayo Hospital
in north Scottsdale.

Bob, as he went by,
was very much the go-to guy
in the Cath lab.

Um, he was... he was adored
by the nurses there.

I would frequently see him
reading the bible

in a locker area
where people change

on a small bench
in the corner.

Everybody liked him.

But, for the most part,
he was kinda quiet.

He didn't really say a lot.

I mean, I couldn't see
Bob Fisher

going to a bar and getting
in a shoving match
with some other guy.

I couldn't see him
cheating on his taxes.

[crowd singing] Happy
birthday to you!

[crowd cheering]

[Mary] Good girl!

That was good!

Yeah, let's do it again.

[Lockerby] We're trying
to track down
every single lead

Then the detectives, they come
across somebody that says...

..."Mary disclosed
to me that Robert
had an extramarital affair."

Get him out of here.

[LeDuc] When he told Mary
about his infidelity...

...I think
the timeframe was...

...about two years prior
to two and a half years.

He was suicidal.

He actually made
suicidal comments

and then went out
into the wilderness.

He returned about
four days later

and they reconciled and now...

...here's a new Robert Fisher.

[laughing]

All right, give him a hug.
Give both of them a hug.

[Mary] Is that a nice puppy?

-Lick her!
-[exclaims]

Oh, my god, you can.

Aww, there, that's sweet.

You're strange
for a little Spike.

Yo, it's clear you good.

[Mary] You did pick a mellow
one for them, Robert.

[Greenbeck] Mary
had faith in Robert.

She had faith
in their marriage.

And her family
was her priority.

She would never speak
poorly of Robert.

But at the time,
without her saying
he had cheated on her,

I knew that he had...
he had an affair.

She said that she
could forgive him,

but he had to make
some changes.

He was devastated
by his parents divorcing,

and he said...

...there would never be
a divorce in his family.

He was really trying
to be a good dad,

and spend time with his kids
and pay attention to his wife.

You know, it really
looked like...

...they were going
in the right direction.

That he was doing
the right thing.

You've got detectives
interviewing these people

saying, "Hey, we don't think
he did this."

And maybe... maybe, you know,

are were going down
the wrong course?

But we still need
to find him and talk to him.

It is frustrating.
Where is he?

We were at a point
where we were saying
to ourselves,

"We cannot catch
a solid break in this."

And then we discovered
ATM video at 10:30

the night of the homicide,

shows Robert withdrawing
money from a cash machine.

And in the background
of that video...

...is Mary's 4Runner.

This is, uh, where the kids
went to school together.

Our daughters had sleepovers,
and were in the same class.

Mary was very involved.

She was always volunteering
at the school.

When our kids became
of age to be little brownies,

she started
the Girl Scout troop.

[Mary] What's that
you're wearin'?

Hobby badge!

[Mary] Hobby badge?

[Greenbeck] I just remember
Mary on rainy days

would drive up here,
pull up to the front
of the school

and they would all
pile in her car.

She would have protected
those kids...

...at all costs.

There was something there
and I didn't catch it.

It was just too unbelievable.

Why would he run off?
Why is he hiding?

That's when everything
I thought changed.

[Lockerby] Detectives saw
that footage

withdrawing $260,

the max amount
that he could at the time.

It was extremely important,

because it put Robert
in a time and place
at a certain location

the night of the murders.

We would suspect
that if he was being taken

against his will
or being robbed,

that you would see
somebody else in the car
or next to him.

There's really no indication
of that, but...

We did speak with a neighbor,

and the neighbor described
to us a very loud argument

the night
of the triple murder.

Both parties in the argument
were very passionate and loud.

She was no pushover.

Mary was no pushover.

I mean, he had to toe the line
or he was out of there.

[LeDuc] And that's what led
to our theory that Mary

might have just been
about fed up

and wanted to get a divorce.

Robert had specific
conversations with friends

saying, "I will
never allow a divorce
to occur in my family.

That's just not gonna happen."

And he didn't say it
in a way that he would
try and work it out.

It was always with an air
of sinister intent to it.

[Greenbeck] I mean, I knew
he was a little arrogant.

He was a little cocky.

He was a little, uh,
king of the castle.

You know, and I'm not
married to him.

He's not my cup of tea,
but Mary seemed to be
fine with all that.

Their problems are
the same problems

people put up with every day.

I believed they'll talk
and they'll work it out.

I absolutely did not
know Robert Fisher.

[Mary groans]

There was a safe
that he had in his house.

We were able to open that,

and we did find several guns,

including hunting
rifles, shotguns,

and there was at least one
handgun that was missing.

We also found
several family videos

that were shot
during birthday parties

and pool parties
and things like that.

[girl exclaims]

-Whoo!
-[girl] Wow!

Watching all these
home videos,

it really does
make Robert look

like he's this family man,
this father figure.

[Mary] It is Brittney's
first time in her new
swimming pool.

[Robert humming]

But I think, sometimes,
he lets his guard
down a little bit,

and you can see
in some of the videos,

he's a little bit less
than that perfect family man.

[Robert] Say hi. Hi, people.

[Heinzelman] Even
his mannerisms, his temper.

He's kinda manhandling
Bobby as an infant,
a little bit too much.

Oh!

He liked to be the father,
but you could see some of him,

he liked to be, um, in charge.

Brittney's looking
sharp today.

-[Mary] Let's see.
-[Robert] Show 'em your dress.

Turn around.

Turn around again.

Just to show,

"No matter what's
happening around me,
I'm still in control."

[Robert] Smile.

Smile pretty.

Okay, now scream. Ahhh!

-[Brittney mock screams]
-[Robert laughs] Yeah,
I knew you could scream.

[Heinzelman] It's almost
that indefinable quality

you see, sort of,
almost in his eyes, too,

where he just looks
right through you, at times.

Um, it's chilling.

Okay, kill the camera.

[Mary] Yeah, just a minute.

-Can you say bye, Brittney?
-[Robert] I'm gonna
throw something.

-[Brittney] Bye!
-[Mary] Let me
find the button.

[Mary] Don't!
That's medicine, Robert.

I mean, I cannot,
to this day, fathom...

...how he could,
how he could hurt his kids.

Any kids, but your kids?

Your kids? I mean, just leave.

How selfish can you be?

You're playing God?
You're the Almighty?

You get to decide?

It's just crazy to me.

It's crazy.

10 days
into this investigation,

these two individuals call
the police department

and say, "Hey, outside
of a town of Young, Arizona,

a friend of ours saw Robert
in the 4Runner."

Arizona Department
of Public Safety fly
over that area,

and sure enough,

they see,
under the pine trees,

the 4Runner.

[female newscaster]
Miles away, in the forest
near Young, Arizona,

Robert's 4Runner was
found with his dog,
Blue, next to it.

The car was found in the area

where he and my husband had
been camping and quad riding,

just sitting out there
by itself.

I'm like, "Oh, my gosh."

[Lockerby] When
the detectives arrived,

they found the dog that
belonged to the Fisher family

kinda running
around the vehicle,

somewhat malnourished,
porcupine quills in his nose.

But where is Robert?

The Tonto National Forest is
extremely rugged terrain.

As a SWAT team arrives
on scene up there,

it's cold, [chuckles]
it's starting to snow.

Uh, we're trying to track him.

It's a huge undertaking.

It's easy to see us,
but it's hard to see him.

He could be anywhere,
including up inside the trees.

There's so many different
caves and different places
where he could've gone.

He knew that area
extremely well.

He's an extremely
good outdoorsman.

He knows how to use firearms.

We know for a fact
he's got rifles.

Now we become a target.

[male newscaster]
The helicopter search
of the area spotted footprints

where Fisher's car and dog
were found on Friday.

A track has been found leaving
the area where the truck was.

It's about a mile or so
south of the truck.

That's going down
into the main creeks
on that side,

over into
the reservation area.

Within three-quarters
of a mile from the vehicle,

is the Indian reservation.

So, that's a sovereign nation,

so that's no different than
going into another country.

But for him,

"They says all I have to do
is step over this fence,
and I can continue on."

The tracks went down,
but there was no tracks
coming back out.

So we don't know
where this guy went,

or if it was somebody
from the reservation.

[Lockerby] Was it
another SWAT officer?

Was that somebody else?
Was that Fisher?

Did Robert go out into a cave
somewhere and kill himself?

Did someone pick him up?

We were 10 days
behind the 8 ball,

riding an uphill battle
to try to track him.

[Heinzelman] We search
the vehicle,

but the 4Runner was empty,

except for a coffee cup,
a couple of handwritten notes,

and then the baseball cap
that we believe he wore
the night of the homicide.

The car was deliberately
cleaned out.

There was very little
or no evidence.

There wasn't, like,
half-packed suitcases
or anything like that.

Right outside the vehicle,

there was what appeared
to be human feces.

The fact that
the dog was there

was sort of a little
fork in the road
in our investigation.

[Greenbeck] I thought,
"How could that dog
still be with the car

if nobody was there?"

This was a young dog,
still a puppy.

If Robert left on foot,
why wasn't he
following Robert?

He wasn't tied up.

I mean,

if Robert went somewhere,

did Blue go back to the car
just to wait there,

'cause eventually,
somebody's gonna come back?

[Lockerby] Now it's back
to that theory,

did someone pick him up?

Did someone pick him up
not knowing who he was?

Did he kidnap somebody?

I believe he had help.

Someone unknowingly
or knowingly helped him
get out of that area.

[female newscaster]
Police say Robert Fisher
might be on the run tonight.

He was gone.

He disappeared.

He basically hot-footed it
out of there, I mean...

I just can't imagine
he could've went very far.

[Heinzelman] So that became
a theory, as to say,

"Well, he in fact did have
an accomplice after the fact."

Did he confide
in another person

that was close to him
what his plans were,

and if so, did that include
an escape plan?

So, we worked very hard
on that theory

to find if there was
another mistress involved.

[Heinzelman] From
the beginning,

we put out info
asking the public

for help for finding Robert.

We started getting tips
and calls from folks
all over the place.

One of the tips we received
was from a bartender

in Rye, Arizona,
the night of the murders,

that a couple came in,
a man and a woman,

and she described him as being
similar to Robert Fisher.

They appeared to be
in some sort of an argument.

There was a little bit
of, uh, tension

between the two of them,

and that they only
stayed a few minutes
and that they left.

Unfortunately, we were never
able to positively confirm
that that was him.

The best we could come up with
is it matches our timeframe.

[Brad Banks] That was huge.

When the FBI chose
to put this case

on their Most Wanted list,

he was on some
of the national
crime programs.

Well, that's where
we need you.

This guys has got to be
brought back to face justice

for murdering his own family.

I mean, that just kind of
illustrated to everyone

how big of a case
it really was

and how unusual of a case
it really was.

[Lockerby] I mean,
I spent days looking
at different photos

that people would send
to the FBI and send to me,

and we would look
at the different photos
of them and try to compare it.

We went back and forth,
"Is it him? Is it not him?"

After a while,
that adrenaline dump

and that roller coaster
of emotion does take
a drain on you.

[LeDuc] It was so frustrating,

and we're just
coming up empty.

The tips were coming in,

but none of them
came to anything.

[Brittney exclaims]

-[Mary] Camera, look.
-Cut.

Cut.

You see how quiet it is?

It's very quiet up here.

Can hear a pin drop.

I haven't been up here
in a long time,

but I'd come up here
and I'd camp out,

and I'd sit by my campfire

and I would just kind of
try to think about it.

It came to me that, no,
he did not try to throw
everybody off

and then have
an accomplice pick him up
and run off together.

What he was doing

was trying to commit suicide

in a location
where he didn't
wanna be found.

He was trying to destroy
his existence

and everything
about his existence.

And that's when I began
searching for him up where
he left his wife's car.

And at least if Mary Fisher's
family knew he's dead...

I'm not saying that would
make them feel better,

but it does help

when you know
where your abuser is,

and they can't
hurt you anymore.

Okay, we should catch
the fence line road

right about in here somewhere.

Okay, so this divides
the, uh, Indian reservation

from the Tonto
National Forest.

I just was kinda hoping

that maybe somehow,
I would get lucky

and I would stumble
across the little place
where he went and ended it.

But, uh...

The caves are...

...on the other side
of this little hill over here.

Unfortunately,
if he concealed himself

inside of some kind
of a opening or crevice...

...you wouldn't see him,

and they wouldn't,
they would never have
known to look there.

But when you walk around here
for any length of time,

there's just too much area.

Looking for him,

it just feels hopeless.

[LeDuc] Suicide came up
early on in the investigation,

because he had talked about
suicide during the infidelity
with Mary and whatnot.

And it's an easy theory...

...because we like
to think in normal ways.

But killing your family
and your spouse is
not a normal way,

so you need to put that
behind you right away.

There is nothing normal
in the thought process.

I don't think
that Robert Fisher
committed suicide.

I don't think that was
in his personality.

I don't think
that was his plan.

If the murder was
that well-planned,

then escape is gonna be
planned, as well.

So that troubled us.

[Lockerby] We really worked
a lot of different angles,

talked to a lot
of different people,

and then, in 2004,

we received a call
from the RCMP

of the Canadian police.

[LeDuc] I remember it vividly.

I was in a training class,
in a big classroom,

and the door opened,
and we're motioned out
by our boss at the time.

And he said, "Hey, listen.
I have some very good news.

I think we have him."

The feeling was like
Christmas morning.

This is the tip
that we've been waiting for.

We receive a call
from the Canadian police

that they had
Robert Fisher in custody.

They sent us photos,
and it looked very similar.

I thought, "Boom.
We're gonna see his face
on the news tonight.

No doubt about it,
gotta be him."

It was crazy. It was, like,
the biggest story in town.

I could just see it
in my head.

They'd be out there,
taking him into custody,

[chuckles] putting
the handcuffs on him.

Oh, my gosh.

That person was somebody
who had a warrant
for them in Canada.

This person resembles
Robert Fisher.

He's got a back scar.
He has the missing tooth.

For me, that's what makes it.

Immediately, I think
it's Robert.

"It's him. I really...
It's him.

Finally over,
it's finally over."

But the first thing is
we need to confirm
that definitely was him.

It takes a while to do
comparisons with DNA
and fingerprints.

So one of the things
we needed to do to confirm

was to try and get somebody

who knew him eyes-on.

Uh, so there was a plan
that was choreographed

where we would take
somebody who had seen
and known Robert Fisher

and book them into that jail,

so they would have
the occasion to see
each other face-to-face.

And this person saw him
in the booking area

and said, "That's him!

That's absolutely,
unequivocally, that's him."

And then, the fingerprints
didn't match.

It ended up not being him.

It was a state of denial
for a little while,

says, "No, something
is wrong. It's him!

His friend said it was him.

How could this be..."

And that was a real,
real big letdown.

That family deserves justice.
They truly do.

Robert, my son-in-law,
who I love deeply.

Who's with him?
Nobody's ever reported that.

I don't even know
how they got through that.

I just feel like you would
lose your mind.

The fact that, you know,
a part of your family,

somebody that you'd
accepted as your son,
could've done this.

He almost said,

And he stopped himself.

Yeah, that was heartbreaking.

I think he knew, yeah.
I think he knew there.

He was trying
to convince Robert
to come back,

that, you know,
things could be okay.

This could be explained.

Give Robert the hope
that he could come
make up some story, and...

...somebody's gonna buy it.

But no, he knew there.

There's just something
about a helpless child...

...being harmed by an adult.

Especially their own parent.

That just terribly upsets me,
to this day.

And I have known quite a few
Robert Fishers in my life.

I met quite a number of them.

This matters.

Even though it's been
20 years, this matters.

Those kids' friends,

they still think about
Brittney and Bobby.

They think about them.

I guarantee it.
They think about them.

I believe that Robert Fisher
was able to reassimilate
into society,

start over with a new family,

and is living his life
as another normal citizen,

disguised in plain sight.

And we have to be looking
for what age progression
would look like,

not what he looked like
at the time of the crime.

waiting for the day

that something comes out,
that they found him.

if they find him
and they drag him out

and they put him on the TV.

I wanna know
where the hell he's been.

Looking at the photos today,

it's hard to really
not personalize it.

We're trying to find him
and trying to figure out
why he did it, so...

We are going to track down
every single lead,

and we will find him
at some point.

Someday, we will find him.

on at least a weekly basis,

and I would say, uh,

I'll take two or three a week.

We've had some tips
that, uh, that we thought
were pretty good,

that we sent some agents
down to investigate.

But we've never had
one confirmed sighting

that says,
"Definitely, this is him."

contact from people

who send me pictures
and, "Do you think this
could be Robert Fisher?"

I'm like, [sighs].
I mean, out of nowhere.

I mean, most of the pictures
I look at, I'm pretty sure
it's not him.

But I never wanna say,
"That's not him,"

because what if it is?

Nobody wants
to see him get away.

Nobody wants to see him
get away with it.

Robert does not deserve
to be living a life

when he took three.

He does not deserve
anything good on Earth.

I hope he's dead.

If he's alive,

let's catch him.
