the clubs in London

because I went
to London for three months,

and I was able to go to
a few bars and a few clubs,

but what I didn't see
was a lot of diversity.

VANITY: I think Victoria
can help me out here,

when it comes to, like,
event organizers not knowing

that we've got the drag kings,
we've got the AFAB queens,

and we have, you know,
a diverse cast of people

that you can actually tap into.

VICTORIA:
Vanity is absolutely right.

In the UK,
it's majority White Cis men

on every line-up,

let alone
just the odd one or two.

And, you know, I can only speak
from my experience,

and as a lesbian, that even
within the queer community,

lesbians are almost
forgotten about

or not seen as part of it.

I've noticed it more now
that I've done Drag Race.

I maybe won't be let into
a venue straight away,

and, I can see the change
when someone notices,

or says to them,
"Oh, that's Victoria Scone."

I can see the change of, "Oh."
Then they treat me with respect.

We fought for our own equality
for so long.

Why are we segregating people
within our own community?

It really,
really breaks my heart.

- 2022, we goin' on 2023.
- When is it gonna change?

KENDALL: That's one thing
that I will say about Vancouver

is a lot of the shows,

we sort of have,
like, an unspoken rule

that, like, there has to be
full diversity,

like a non-binary performer,
a drag king, you know,

obviously, people of colour,
that kind of thing.

Like, you very rarely see
like a Cis, White, full cast.

SILKY: To be honest,
like in America,

it wasn't until George Floyd
that drag queens started

to, like, fight for the power
to have diverse casts.

- Yeah.
- So, that was what?

Just last year.

Then different clubs
started calling out,

like, things that was happening.

Yeah.

We don't even realize
our own strength,

like in our own community
a lot of the times, because,

we put so many labels
that we just forget to stop

and think about community.

It's still a work in process,

in Montréal, specifically.
