lot of sympathy in this country

towards Nazi ideas before the

war.

group that you have to be

Shortly after 10:00 a.m., a lone

white male pulls into the

parking lot of a Sikh temple at

the start of Sunday service.

>> AMARDEEP KALEKA: He came out

of his truck, and he approached

two priests who were in the

parking lot.

(gunshots)

And he shot both of them...

and then immediately proceeded

inside, into the temple, and

opened fire.

(gunshots)

(gunshots)

(dial tone)

(gunshots, distant voices)

>> NARRATOR: Over two dozen

worshippers run for cover in a

deadly game of hide-and-seek, as

the shooter methodically moves

from room to room...

(gunshots)

...victim to victim.

>> SATPAL KALEKA: Kids came

inside.

They said there's somebody

shooting.

(gunshots)

Then I said, "Let's go.

Run, run, run to the pantry."

Like this.

I said, "Let's go, go, go

inside."

Like 12, 13 people, we came

inside.

(gunshots, screaming)

And shooter came here.

He starts shooting.

He shoots there.

We pulled this door.

So, we all stayed here.

>> NARRATOR: Temple founder

Satwant Singh Kaleka takes

refuge with others in a

back room of the building,

and calls 911.

>> AMARDEEP KALEKA: My father

was safe in a room.

He decided to open the door and

let somebody else in, against

the wishes of other people.

>> NARRATOR: Hearing the

commotion, the shooter moves in.

>> AMARDEEP KALEKA: And he kicks

the door in and opens fire on

all four people.

(gunshots)

>> NARRATOR: Satwant Singh

Kaleka is fatally injured while

trying to attack the gunman with

a butter knife.

As the gunman calmly exits the

building, he encounters

Lieutenant Brian Murphy

arriving on scene.

(gunshots)

He shoots the officer in the

throat, and then proceeds to

fire 14 more rounds into him at

close range.

(siren wails)

>> SAM LENDA: 4562.

I thought I heard shots.

You confirm that?

>> NARRATOR: Officer Sam Lenda

arrives moments later.

>> LENDA: I observed the subject

walking in a westerly direction,

and then I realized he had a gun

in his hand and he was firing.

He has a gun!

Hey, get over here!

He has a gun!

And I engaged him in gunfire.

(gunshot)

Then the subject went down.

>> NARRATOR: With a crippling

gunshot wound to his chest, the

shooter raises his gun to his

head and ends his own life.

(gunshot)

(sirens wail)

In all, seven people are dead

and three critically injured.

An entire community is

traumatized.

But what motivated the massacre?

A cryptic tattoo of the number

14 inked on the suspect's

shoulder provides a vital clue.

It helps the FBI to identify the

shooter as Wade Michael Page,

a white supremacist and musician

in a Nazi-inspired rock band.

>> MAYO: When people have "14"

tattooed on their body, it's

instantly recognizable by other

white supremacists.

>> JAMES SANTELLE: The 14 words

plainly encapsulate the notion

of hatred and the promotion of

the white race.

>> ALL: Sieg Heil!

>> MARTIN MORGAN: Adolf Hitler

left the world with a very

detailed political manifesto

in the form of his book,

Mein Kampf.

In chapter eight, he has a

subsection that ultimately

becomes quoted time and time

again.

And those 14 words were, "We

must secure the existence of our

people and a future for white

children."

Those 14 words became

effectively the mission

statement for white supremacy in

the United States.

>> NARRATOR: Mein Kampf?

Adolf Hitler?

Could it be that the man

responsible for the deaths of

millions in the the 1930s and

'40s could serve as an

inspiration?

And in the 21st century?

>> SIMI: A core part of the

neo-Nazi identity is this idea

of being this noble warrior.

One of the things that we can

expect was probably going

through his head was the idea

that he would be a martyr for

the movement.

>> LEYDEN: If I could try to get

into Wade Michael Page's mind,

what I could think was going on:

He decided, "I'm gonna go out

like a berserker.

I'm gonna whack people, and then

I'm gonna get killed.

I'll end up in Valhalla, where

I can go to Asgard."

Which is the hall where you

drink mead and you fight and

die.

And if you die, you get

resurrected the next day and you

do it all over again.

>> NARRATOR: Page was a U.S.

Army veteran who had left the

service with a

less-than-honorable discharge

in 1998.

He spent the next ten years

working at various jobs, but

devoted more and more of his

time to playing music in a

variety of neo-Nazi rock bands.

But according to those who knew

him, Page credited many of his

racist beliefs to his

experiences while serving in

the Army.

>> SIMI: During the time that I

spent with Page, what, uh, he

had reported to me was that, uh,

he became indoctrinated in

neo-Nazism really during his

time in the military.

He told me that if you don't go

in the military as a racist,

you're sure to leave as one.

>> MARK POTOK: The fact is, Wade

Page went into the military and

wound up being assigned to Fort

Bragg in 1995 and '96.

That was precisely the moment

when a huge den of real-life

neo-Nazis was found inside

Fort Bragg.

There was a gigantic scandal

because three of them murdered a

black couple.

This was a time when there were

literally Nazi flags inside the

barracks where these guys were

handing out neo-Nazi literature.

>> NARRATOR: Neo-Nazis taking

root in the U.S. military?

But how?

And why?

>> LEYDEN: The reason I joined

the United States Marine Corps

is I believed the Marines were

the best, and I wanted to learn

those combat skills, so when I

came out of the military, I

could train people for eventual

war against the United States

government, to use military

tactics and military skills to

one day destroy the federal

government.

I had "skinhead" down the back

of my arms.

I had Nazi SS bolts that were

tattooed two inches high on my

neck.

I walked around Sieg Heil-ing.

I had a swastika flag that flew

on my wall locker.

And down in the beer garden, I

used to go down there and put my

swastika flag up and have other

skinheads and neo-Nazis there,

and we'd drink openly in front

of everybody.

So the military knew.

>> NARRATOR: Is the demand for

so-called "political

correctness" forcing officials

in the U.S. military to turn a

blind eye to the activities of

this and other notorious hate

groups?

Two facts are certain: there

are nearly 200 neo-Nazi groups

currently operating in the

United States, and they are

strongly allied to a loose

network of numerous other white

and Aryan power hate groups.

>> SIMI: Members of the white

power movement and neo-Nazis

are both allies and enemies.

There's a strong sense of being

in the movement together,

working together, because

they're all in it for the same

reason, which is to promote the

white race and to do something

about the fact that the white

race is on the verge of

extinction.

>> ERIC HICKEY: Hate is

something that you could

almost taste.

Hate is dangerous when we

operationalize it, when we put

it into action.

Hitler hated Jews and wanted to

destroy them and was very

successful in killing almost a

third of the world's population

of Jews.

>> MAYO: The vast majority of

neo-Nazis are unaffiliated, and

that's the group that you really

have to be most concerned about.

>> LEYDEN: A leaderless

resistance is a tactic that's

used by people inside the

movement to make sure that once

a group gets to a certain size,

you break off into different

cells.

There's an adage that three can

keep a secret as long as two are

dead.

So if you keep your cells small

enough, you can control

everybody.

>> NARRATOR: Although the U.S.

government covertly monitors

American Nazis and maintains

files on them, their racist

beliefs and recruitment

activities are not illegal.

>> MAN: Burn, Jew boy, burn!

>> NARRATOR: But how and when

did Nazi ideology originally

take root in America?

And just how prepared are we to

combat another deadly attack

like the one in Wisconsin?

(gunshots)

>> NARRATOR: When Adolf Hitler

and his National Socialist party

rose to power in the 1930s, few

knew of the horrors that lay

ahead.

Germany had been nearly

bankrupted after World War I,

and high unemployment, coupled

with runaway inflation, left

most Germans starving.

Although Hitler's rhetoric often

blamed the people's woes on the

Jews, the world turned a blind

eye and a deaf ear.

>> MORGAN: The National

Socialist movement that swept

through Germany beginning in the

1920s was not simply isolated

to Europe.

And there were those, even in

the United States, even in the

land of the free and the home of

the brave, that believed in the

ideas of Nazism.

>> NARRATOR: Among those

believers was an enigmatic

Hollywood screenwriter and

mystic named William Dudley

Pelley.

>> MITCH HOROWITZ: In January

of 1933, when Hitler rose to the

Chancellery in Germany, Pelley

looked upon the figure of

Hitler and determined that he

wanted to remake himself into a

kind of American National

Socialist leader.

>> NARRATOR: Impressed with

Hitler's Aryan-oriented

political philosophy and rabidly

anti-Communist stance, Pelley

formed what he called "the

Silver Legion" and modeled the

group after the Nazi Brown

Shirts.

>> HOROWITZ: Pelley instructed

his members to dress in

paramilitary garb, to carry

weapons with them.

The Silver Shirts had about

15,000 members, which is not an

inconsiderable number of people.

The real fear that the federal

government had was that those

15,000 members could serve as a

kind of fifth column during the

Second World War.

So the government went after

Pelley on charges of sedition,

and he was actually sent to jail

for the duration of the Second

World War.

>> NARRATOR: But the

imprisonment of Pelley did not

stop the rise of Nazis in

America.

In 1936, the German American

Bund was created.

Led by a German-born American

citizen by the name of Fritz

Kuhn, the Bund claimed to merge

American and German National

Socialist interests into one

ideology.

It was also secretly supported

by Hitler's Deputy Fuhrer,

Rudolf Hess.

(drumming)

>> MORGAN: Picture it if you

will, Madison Square Garden,

New York City, February 20,

1939.

20,000 followers of Nazism

gathered under that roof for

that one night to listen to a

message from Fritz Kuhn.

Fritz Kuhn stood up and echoed

all of the sentiments that were

expressed by Adolf Hitler in his

political speeches.

>> NARRATOR: During the war,

American Nazis went underground,

fearful of reprisals and

persecution.

But after Hitler's defeat in

1945, the U.S. began to fear an

even greater threat from its

former ally, the Soviet Union.

>> JOHN LOFTUS: The American

politicians really thought that

we would have to fight Russia.

And they had no intelligence on

Russia.

>> TIMOTHY NAFTALI: What happens

as the Cold War gets colder is

that efforts shift from trying

to track down criminals of the

last war to finding German

intelligence officers who can

provide political and military

information about the next move,

and they are not that interested

in the backgrounds of these

German intelligence officers.

There was a competition between

the Soviets and the Americans

over who could acquire more

German military technology.

This led to what was known as

Operation Paperclip, and some of

the unrepentant Nazis who found

their way to the United States

came as a result of the

knowledge they had of Nazi

technology.

>> LOFTUS: There were a lot of

Germans who just wanted to save

their skin, and if they were

tried for what they had really

done during World War II, they

would be listed as war

criminals.

>> MORGAN: President Truman had

a ruling that no former Nazis

that were deeply involved in the

political ideology of National

Socialism could be recruited

through Operation Paperclip, and

the way that the government

responded to that was we simply

created ulterior identities to

some of the worst offenders.

>> NAFTALI: The most famous are

Arthur Rudolph and Wernher von

Braun, who both played roles

ultimately in unprecedented

developments in military

technology.

>> VON BRAUN: I myself and

everybody you see here have

decided to go West.

>> NARRATOR: Wernher Von Braun

had been the former technical

director of the Peenemunde

Rocket Research Center, the

development site of the V-2

rocket that devastated London.

But after the war, the U.S.

government hired him to further

develop that technology for use

on a new frontier.

>> MORGAN: He began working for

NASA, and was central in the

development of the Pershing

missile and the Saturn V rocket.

>> JOHN F. KENNEDY: We choose to

go to the moon in this decade

and do the other things, not

because they are easy, but

because they are hard.

>> MORGAN: The American nation

needed every tool in the toolbox

to be able to fight off

Communism.

We needed every level of

expertise.

We needed every new weapon.

And we had to turn to our former

Nazi enemies and bring them to

the United States to help us

compete against the Soviets

during the Cold War.

In the chapter about Nazis in

America's Book of Secrets,

there would have to be some text

indicating that the United

States government embraced

Nazis.

And that the United States

government also covered up the

way that we embraced Nazis.

>> LOFTUS: They routinely were

deleting all documents showing

that the government had assisted

their entry.

And I caught them at it.

>> NARRATOR: The government's

secret scheme to bring German

scientists to the U.S. was

exposed in 1982, nearly four

decades after the war.

Former Office of Special

Investigations attorney, John

Loftus, appeared on national

television to reveal that

intelligence officials had not

only secretly smuggled some of

the most notorious war criminals

to America, but also that the

Department of Justice had

provided them with safe haven

from prosecution.

>> LOFTUS: Officially, my

mission was to find where there

might be Nazis hiding in

America, but I had a secret

mission.

On the sly, my job was to try

and find out who had protected

Nazi war criminals after

World War II.

>> NARRATOR: After searching

through hidden intelligence

files, Loftus claimed to have

found proof that linked upper

level U.S. officials to expunged

Nazi war criminal records.

He even asserted that the paper

trail went all the way up

to the office of OSS Chief

Allen Dulles.

>> LOFTUS: The assistant

attorney general told me, "I

don't want to hear this stuff

you're telling me."

And, uh, I sort of became

notorious with the intelligence

community.

The Justice Department was asked

by Congress to do the right

thing, and the Justice

Department betrayed Congress.

They betrayed the American

people, and they continued

the... the Nazi cover-up.

I knew that my agency simply

would not participate in any

hunt for Nazis that would expose

American politicians, so I quit

the Justice Department in

disgust, and testified before

Congress as a whistleblower.

>> NARRATOR: Did the American

government's efforts to get Nazi

intelligence after the war

really sow the seeds for the

white supremacy hate groups we

see today?

1950s was in the midst of an

economic boom.

It was the age of split-level

houses, television and the

station wagon.

And World War II was in the

rearview mirror.

Americans were now brimming with

confidence, and there were

hopeful signs that opportunities

would soon be available for

those to whom the American dream

had been off-limits.

But not everyone was happy to

embrace the more

socially-progressive attitude

that was being extended to

racial minorities.

>> MORGAN: There were a number

of people that felt deeply

threatened.

They felt deeply threatened by

the idea of equality.

There were those that embraced

the ideas associated with Nazi

eugenics all over again.

The idea that white people were

born to lead and non-white

people were born to follow.

As insidious and as hateful as

that certainly sounds, there

were enough people in the United

States that believed in Nazi

race policy.

>> NARRATOR: Enter George

Lincoln Rockwell, a former Navy

commander who maintained that

the U.S. had fought on the wrong

side in World War II.

He believed that racial

integration went hand-in-hand

with Communism, and that both

were being propagated by Jews.

In March 1959, Rockwell founded

the World Union of Free

Enterprise National Socialists--

changed later that year to the

American Nazi Party.

>> ROCKWELL: I use the uniform

to agitate.

When Martin Luther Coon is out

in the streets agitating, why,

I agitate back.

And the uniform is very good for

agitating.

>> POTOK: Rockwell would take

his Nazi-uniformed storm

troopers, as he called them,

and march up and down the

Washington mall.

Rockwell did a lot to put

forward the idea that Nazism was

still somehow viable, despite

the fact that millions and

millions of American men had

fought against Nazism a mere few

years before.

>> NARRATOR: George Lincoln

Rockwell sparked a public

crusade to purify America of all

non-whites.

It ended on August 6, 1967, when

a disgruntled follower shot him

outside of an Arlington,

Virginia Laundromat.

But although Rockwell was dead,

did his death only serve to

inspire and motivate others

like him?

>> LEYDEN: If you look at inside

the white power movement from

when George Lincoln Rockwell

created the American Nazi Party,

you have offshoots.

You have the National Socialist

Movement.

You have the National Alliance,

the White Aryan Resistance, and

you end up with neo-Nazi

skinheads.

>> Sieg Heil! Sieg Heil!

>> LEYDEN: They're all part of

the same cog.

They're all part of the same

machine.

They're all driving to create a

white-only America.

>> NARRATOR: In 1974, the

National Alliance was created by

Dr. William Luther Pierce, a

one-time loyal associate of

Rockwell's.

>> SIMI: William Pierce spent

some time as a faculty member in

Oregon State University, and

then left a life of academia to

pursue his true passion,

which was neo-Nazi propaganda.

>> NARRATOR: Pierce would soon

be known as the secret creator

of one of the most dangerous

tools in the arsenal of the

white supremacist.

A tool that continues to incite

violence and murder, even to

this day-- The Turner Diaries.

Oklahoma City, April 19, 1995.

At 9:02 a.m., a homemade bomb

hidden inside a rental truck

blows up the Alfred P. Murrah

Federal Building.

(loud explosion)

(siren blaring)

168 people lose their lives...

including 19 children.

800 more are seriously injured.

When police arrest 27-year-old

Timothy McVeigh just hours

later on an unrelated charge,

they find copies of pages from

The Turner Diaries in his

vehicle.

>> POTOK: The Turner Diaries has

been called the bible of the

radical right in the United

States, because this book has

been incredibly important, uh,

in terms of inspiring mass

murders.

>> MORGAN: The Turner Diaries

are written from the far-off

distant future looking back at

a time when the future for the

white race in America was

secured by a number of

individuals that took the law

into their own hands.

Harkening back to Adolf Hitler's

Mein Kampf, it is a message

that says white people must

become extremely aggressive in

securing the future of the

nation.

>> LEYDEN: And in that book, a

federal building gets blown up.

I believe Timothy McVeigh

designed a bomb to go off at

that exact time in The Turner

Diaries.

Oklahoma is seen as the first

shot, like, uh, the shot heard

round the world in Concord and

Lexington.

>> NARRATOR: Although he was not

known to be a member of William

Pierce's National Alliance,

McVeigh was sympathetic to much

of its virulent anti-government

rhetoric.

>> POTOK: So, clearly, he had at

least some ideas, uh, very much

in common with the neo-Nazi

movement.

>> LEYDEN: You know, that book

is still out there, and people

are still reading it.

And there may be another Timothy

McVeigh in the United States

Army right now who just learned

how to do explosives...

>> SOLDIER: Load, load, load,

load, load.

>> LEYDEN: ...and it's all

because of what Dr. Pierce did.

>> NARRATOR: Is the American

government doing all it can to

combat homegrown terrorist

groups?

Or is it the government's very

efforts to fight terrorism that

motivates more angry outcasts

like Timothy McVeigh?

>> GLETTY: I get scared for

America because there is the

person that's going to finally

stand up and go, "You know what,

I don't care."

They're gonna go out and do

something 'cause they have the

know-how...

they have the skills...

and they have the materials

needed to do something like

that.

government monitoring American

Nazis?

And what other secret methods do

American Nazis use to recruit

and train their members?

propagating their message

through music, not to mention

raking in the money it

generates, has become so

important to the National

Socialist Movement party that it

even has its own record label,

NSM88.

Socialist Movement is a white

civil rights organization.

>> MAN: He's fighting for the

future of his white children and

your white children and my white

children, and that's what it's

all about.

of the movement of Commander

George Lincoln Rockwell and the

original American Nazi party.

Through the music, we can reach

the minds of the youth and the

young people in this country.

And through the political

message in the music, we can

open up the eyes and ears of a

whole new generation.

skinhead white power for you.

>> SCHOEP: We're told that you

can wear a black power shirt or

a black pride shirt or Mexican

pride or brown pride, and this

is okay in the United States.

But the moment you say "white

pride," you're deemed a racist

or a bigot.

So, our goal is bringing our

cause into the mainstream and

giving white people a voice.

>> MAN: Black power!

>> OTHERS: Black power!

>> MAN: Black power!

>> MAN 2: Well, it just appalls

me that there's people on this

earth that are so hostile, so

violent, and they are allowed to

walk around the street

like that.

>> MAYO: They want to see

a government in America that's

controlled by white people and

is for white people.

They want to undermine our

democratic institutions and do

away with the civil rights that

we all enjoy.

>> NARRATOR: Although the rights

of people, even Nazis, to gather

and disseminate racist messages

is protected under the First

Amendment, the federal

government and the Justice

Department does regard American

Nazis as a potential threat.

Undercover civilian operative

David Gletty spent four years

secretly networking his way into

the NSM and other radical white

power groups to help the FBI

gather information about NSM's

possible criminal activities.

>> GLETTY: It took us years of

going to every backwoods little

redneck party, every little Nazi

rally, all over the country,

getting to know people.

That's my European brother.

>> GLETTY: I was caught

off-guard with how much hate

they really had in their heart.

How much they really hated the

other races besides the white

race.

was sympathetic to the

organization's beliefs, Gletty

was able to become an insider.

befriended NSM commander Jeff

Schoep.

>> SCHOEP: Those who seek to

destroy us, their day is coming.

You cannot drive a system and a

government in a country into the

ground and take from the people

I hate what my enemies have done

to my country.

An American uprising is coming,

due to the politicians' greed,

corruption and treason against

the American people!

Occupational Government has done

to my country.

around him, you know, always

shook his hand, always spoke

"David, hey, man, you're one of

our up and coming members."

And they let me be one of their

media guys.

So I was able to roll around at

all these protests and parties

and take people's pictures, but

they didn't know that it was

being used to put their

pictures in the FBI's facial

recognition program.

>> SCHOEP: David Gletty is a

snitch, and anything he has to

say is not credible.

I believe that he infiltrated

this organization for financial

gain and to write a book to

profit off of the organization.

If it's true that the federal

government paid David Gletty, it

was a waste of federal

taxpayers' dollars, a waste of

time and a ridiculous mission.

>> GLETTY: Sometimes we'd have

to go to another state, and

you got six thugs in the back of

your SUV, and you're hearing

every type of hate speech and

you're hearing about all these

rapes of these young girls and

some people they had killed.

Overall, they love to drink,

they love to fight, they love to

do drugs.

They like to go to bars,

bar-hop, three or four bars, and

then beat a black guy down

'cause he's walking with a

white woman.

It really wore on you sometimes.

I have some of these horrible

things that I've seen-- murders

and rapes and robberies--

playing over and over in my

head again.

A neo-Nazi march in the city's

north end turns violent.

>> GLETTY: They got these people

in such a uproar that they

destroyed their own community.

That's one of the things that

the Nazis of America want to do

is to show the cameras that,

"Look, we're not the bad guys.

Look who's burning down their

own houses and flipping over

police cars."

>> Oh, what an unruly bunch of

people you are.

>> GLETTY: "It's them, not us."

>> Oh, no, not the ambulance,

huh?

>> Yeah, not the ambulance!

>> NARRATOR: Information

provided by David Gletty greatly

helped the FBI keep tabs on the

National Socialist Movement.

But despite the government's

best efforts, the NSM remains

committed to its increasingly

aggressive tactics.

Zionism, but there was a lot

more concern about the

Communists in the '50s, about

blacks in the '60s.

Nowadays, they're much more

concerned with immigrants.

(indistinct shouting)

>> What do we want?

>> HICKEY: They fear losing

their jobs.

They fear change.

They fear other groups of people

coming in, pushing them out.

>> Racial harassment of white

people in north Toledo has to

stop.

>> SCHOEP: The U.S. government

has utterly failed in stemming

the tide of illegal immigration

into this nation.

That's why the National

Socialist Movement has been so

highly involved in the Southwest

with our border patrols.

>> LEYDEN: The white supremacy

movement sees themselves as a

minority already.

They see themselves as an

economic minority, and they see

themselves as slowly losing the

war.

They see themselves as two

percent of the world's

population.

And they believe now it's time

to strike and strike as hard as

they can before there's no

whites left.

>> AMARDEEP: They are looking

for people to blame, and if it's

not immigrants, it will be

women.

If it's not women, it's going to

be Catholics.

If it's not Catholics, they will

just go down the list and blame

everybody but themself.

>> NARRATOR: After nearly two

decades in the white power

movement, T.J. Leyden, a

self-described "neo-Nazi street

soldier," saw that hate only

leads to a never-ending cycle of

hate.

>> LEYDEN: The reality is, if

the world is all white, who do

we hate?

What's next?

'Cause that hate's not gonna go

away.

It's just gonna manifest itself

in a different way.

And I just said, "I can't do

this anymore.

It's a lie."

And I left.

I created Strhate Talk

Consulting, an organization that

combats hate, bigotry and

racism.

And what I do is, I work with

military, law enforcement,

colleges and junior highs and

high schools throughout the

United States to try to help

them combat hatred.

leaving the neo-Nazi movement,

and how many new members are

being pulled in?

Movement is highly active in

spreading our message.

We're active through street

activism, protests.

We're active sometimes running

for political office.

We do a lot of online activity.

is basically like a MySpace or a

Facebook.

>> LEYDEN: The movement is

growing.

It's growing rapidly.

Technology has helped them grow.

Now they get in a chat room, and

they're on all the social

networking sites.

That's how quick it is.

identifiable as men and women

marching in swastika-laden

uniforms, and skinheads wearing

hate messages on their bodies.

Or they can be as covertly

unassuming as your next-door

neighbor.

But one thing is certain.

The threat they pose should not

be underestimated.

>> LEYDEN: They look like you.

They could be anybody.

If you ask my mom, she would

never have thought her son could

have been one, but he did.

>> SIMI: The stereotype of your

average neo-Nazi is a

poorly educated person who can

barely spell their first name.

Well, in fact, they seem to have

a much wider recruitment

potential than most people

recognize or give them credit

for.

>> SCHOEP: When you talk about

America's Book of Secrets

pertaining to the National

Socialist Movement, people would

be surprised to know that we

have judges, that we have police

officers, military officers.

One day, we're gonna rise up and

fight with every shred of our

being.

>> NARRATOR: How likely is it

the U.S. will experience another

American Nazi attack like the

one in Oak Creek, Wisconsin?

(siren blaring)

Was it a random act of violence,

instigated by a lone-wolf

gunman, as authorities claimed?

Or was it only one in a series

of what will become a growing

number of Nazi-inspired

atrocities?

>> GLETTY: Right now, the white

power movement, they are

gaining numbers, but they're

underground.

They're just waiting.

They're biding time.

And I wouldn't be surprised if

there's a whole slew of domestic

terrorism acts that happen here

soon.

>> LEYDEN: What do I see as a

future for the American Nazi

Party?

More violence.

More terrorism.

They're not gonna be happy until

there's just a white world.

And they're gonna do whatever it

takes.

If it took another holocaust,

they would do it in a heartbeat.
