The Rebel Princess

[Episode 64]

Looks like Prince Yuzhang

still finds it hard to let go of the situation at the hunting ground.

At this point,

His Majesty has ordered the princes and leaders of the gentry

to conduct a sacrificial rite for the dead soldiers,

Since ancient times, Emperors have only worshipped heaven and earth, and the royal ancestors.

This has never happened in the past and is unprecedented.

What else does he still want?

I think everyone here and the gentries in Great Cheng

have been trampled on by the humble people. We are helpless.

It can’t be that there’s no solution at all.

Perhaps, there’s someone who can try.

Father, you called for me?

Other than bestowing the Nine Tins, are there still any rumors in the Imperial Court? Nine Tin are nine highest and most powerful awards from emperors to officials]

These were blocked by Wen Zongshen and weren’t handed over to His Majesty.

But news have already spread.

There are widespread rumors now.

Let’s see how long Wen Zongshen can continue to hide.

You can leave.

Father, did you call me here just for this?

Also, Gu family has fallen.

If you want to reconsider marriage,

Gu Caiwen is not a good choice.

I understand.

It’s spreading everywhere now that

Great Prince wanted His Majesty to bestow him with the Nine Tins. [T/N : Nine Tins are nine highest awards bestowed by emperors to officials]

Do you think this is the original intention of Great Prince?

How can it be possible? You should know Great Prince.

A traitor must be causing troubles

to let His Majesty and the Imperial Court be suspicious of Great Prince.

Who could this person be?

Whoever he is, this must still be investigated

but I think, in any case, it must be those gentries.

It has been many years. Great Prince defended against suppressed the rebels

and did so many merits for Great Cheng.

Why do these gentries still hate Great Cheng?

Because they are afraid that the humble people will wield power.

Great Prince.

Those who spread rumors, no matter how noble and high their status are,

they are just some bad people in general.

No need to bother about them.

Someone must be spreading rumors to frame you.

Yao’er, if everything needs an explanation,

no matter how you explain, it can’t be done.

Once this has gotten worse,

the people behind this will reveal themselves.

Prime Minister Wen, are you are here to visit Empress Dowager again?

I heard Princess Consort Yuzhang is here.

I would like to meet her regarding some matters. Please report this.

Yes, Prime Minister Wen. This way, please.

Princess Consort, Prime Minister Wen is here to see you.

He’s waiting outside.

Princess Consort Yuzhang.

Prime Minister Wen, you are here to see me. Is there something important?

Yes. I requested to see it

for Prince Yuzhang, His Majesty

and kingdom of Great Cheng.

You should know there are countless rumors in the capital now.

Didn’t you say they are rumors?

There must be a cause for an effect.

Do you really not know

how the person who shared your bed has changed since his return?

Great Prince has a new lease of life.

His actions are reasonable.

Princess Consort, you may not know.

during the submission of memorials today, there were three memorials

and simultaneously, one for the bestowment of Nine Tins. [T/N : Nine Tin Awards are so powerful that they can be used to usurp the throne]

I represent the civil and military officials of the Imperial Court of Great Cheng and

also, the people in the kingdom.

Please advise Prince Yuzhang.

Prime Minister Wen, don’t do this.

Princess Consort, I know that

you and your husband have grudges and hatred in your hearts.

Regarding the situation at the hunting ground,

the ministers of Great Cheng feel ashamed and guilty about this.

Feel ashamed and guilty over the death of the soldiers.

However, Great Cheng is now in a precarious state

and withstand any trials and hardships again.

Moreover, you are from a royal family too.

And from the bloodlines of the Wang clan and also Princess Yuzhang.

Can you bear to see Great Cheng falling into this state?

Prime Minister Wen, Prince Yuzhang will never be like this.

I beg you. Taking into account of the country and its people,

please don’t decline.

Fine. I promise you that

I will find the opportunity to advise Prince Yuzhang.

Get up now.

As long as you promise, there’s hope in everything.

On behalf of the people in the kingdom I thank you.

Nine Tins ritual?

Xiao Qi would never be like this.

Who’s trying to stir up troubles?

Imperial Concubine, this is the new prescription by Imperial Physician Shen to calm the fetus.

Prince Jiangxia also sent someone to invite you to his residence.

Prince Jiangxia?

Yes.

Wants to see me?

[Prince Jiangxia’s Residence]

Imperial Concubine Su is here. Report immediately.

Yes, I will.

- Steward. - What are you doing? Why the panic?

That Su Jin, no. Imperial Concubine Su is here.

Su Jin’er?

Those who come to the Wang clan’s residence are Empresses from the past dynasties.

What’s all the fuss about Imperial Concubine Su?

You can say that but after all, she’s carrying the child of His Majesty.

I’m going to take a look.

Welcome, Imperial Concubine Su.

This way, please.

We are old friends. No need to stand on ceremony.

That’s right.

Imperial Concubine Su came from here. This is also considered your home.

It’s rare that you think of your family.

Where is Jiangxia?

Are you referring to the patriarch?

He’s in the residence.

Could it be that you want him to personally welcome you?

This way, please.

I know the way.

Wang’an, why did you bring me here?

They are sweeping the front hall. I will have to trouble you to wait here.

Patriarch will be here soon.

This way, please.

Jin’er.

Jin’er.

Jin’er.

Prince Jiangxia.

This is your home.

You, me and A’Wu,

three of us grew up here.

Although it’s a master and servant relationship

but you regarded me as your older brother.

If you have anything in your heart, go ahead and tell me.

Remember this. Your secret is also the secret of the Wang clan.

We must keep this secret till the end.

Prince Jiangxia, if you have anything to say, just get to the point.

Let me ask you.

How long has you been carrying this child?

It has been seven months.

However, as far as I know, it has been nine months.

It’s easy to spin this lie but hard to hide the truth.

Do you think you can lie to the Imperial Physician about the child you are carrying?

If my calculation is right, nine months ago,

the incidence happened at Mount Lianyu.

You and A’Wu escaped from the capital.

Moreover, the current Emperor was rushing to the Imperial Tomb from the capital.

Both of you basically never met.

How could you have been intimate with him and conceived a child?

I know I shouldn’t be talking to you about this

for you to hear unhappy news.

But I want to tell up, after the child is born next month,

the Imperial Physician will naturally tell His Majesty that this is a premature delivery.

I believe His Majesty won’t suspect anything.

By then, the mother and child will have a noble status.

About what happened nine months ago, it will vanish like smoke.

By doing this,

how do you want me to repay you?

I hope you will help me to obtain His Majesty’s Jade Seal.

You want his Jade Seal?

You have your secret.

I have something which is awkward to disclose.

I can tell you that,

no matter what, I will never harm His Majesty.

You really won’t harm Zitan?

[Prince Jiangxia’s Residence]

Imperial Concubine.

Duke Suyi, this way, please.

These are secret letters that Zitan wrote to Prince Helan Zhen.

He colluded with foreign enemies to kill his Royal family, the late Emperor

and framed Xiao Qi with concrete evidence.

Where did you get these from?

Just leave this alone. The Wang clan has their own tactics.

The mastermind behind the situation at Mount Lianyu

is indeed His Majesty.

Zitan, that beast even killed his own older brother.

With this evidence, I fear that he won’t be able to keep his throne.

Xiao Qi even swore

before the graves of his comrades that

he will pay homage to them with the head of the real murderer.

Hence, you must let him know about this immediately.

Your task is to personally hand over these letters to Xiao Qi.

And also tell him that you painstakingly found these.

Prime Minister, must I really go?

Xiao Qi trusts you the most. If you go, it won’t arouse any suspicions.

But after fighting with him, I have never visited him.

I think there are already hostilities between the both of you.

Hence, you should take the initiative to gradually revive the relationship with him.

These are the evidence he has been painstakingly looking for.

You are doing him a great favor by handing these to him.

He will be very grateful to you.

Imperial Concubine,

ever since His Majesty met Princess Consort Yuzhang, he has been depressed,

ignored state affairs and drinking every day.

- This will harm his health- - Shut up.

Imperial Concubine Su.

Imperial Concubine Su, His Majesty instructed that he won’t see anyone.

I heard His Majesty is drunk at Shigang Hall

and am specially delivering this hangover soup.

- Well- - If you traumatize the Emperor’s child, you won’t be able to bear the responsibility.

If His Majesty blames you, I will take the responsibility.

Imperial Concubine, this way, please.

Your Majesty.

I brought handover soup for you.

Your Majesty

Your Majesty

[Jade Seal]

[Jade Seal]

[Jade Seal]

Don’t go

A’Wu, A’Wu

[Supreme Enlightenment]

[Jade Seal]

With this Jade Seal, we can legitimately obtain the kingdom.

Father doing this, then there is no backing up

Do you think we have a route of retreat now?

What should we do after obtaining the Jade Seal?

- Summon Song Huai’en. - Alright.

Your Majesty

Last night who came?

Replying to Your Majesty only Noble Consort Su came.

Noble Consort, Emperor came

I greet Your Majesty

You did it

I asked you did do it or not

Your Majesty I was forced to

Forced it?

Who forced you?

Its yourself forcing yourself right?

Wrong

Yes, I splashed on it.

Shouldn’t I splash on it?

If she enters the palace again, I will personally splash it on her body.

You can never be compared to her.

Loosen your shoulders.

Take a deep breath.

Loosen your shoulders.

Take a deep breath.

Take a break.

I am not tried

I want to be like General Guanglie

and take revenge for those soldiers who were falsely accused.

Good job. Continue to train.

Good

Older brother I also want to learn

You also want to learn

Alright.

You must look at this.

Don’t encourage him to take revenge. He’s still a kid.

You must not let him fill with hatred from from such a young age.

At Mount Lianyu, he personally witnessed the soldiers died wrongly.

I don’t need to teach him about revenge.

Must you take revenge for this grudge?

The person you are taking revenge on is not an ordinary person.

Yes.

Xiao Qi

For example, Wen Zongshen.

Wen Zongshen don’t have the guts to do this.

What if it’s my older brother, with the bow in his left hand-

I already said,

I-

I don’t care who he is.

What’s wrong with you?

I’m worried if it’s someone around us. What will we do?

Just like me.

Something’s not right. You are restless.

My hands are tired.

What happened?

Tell me. Don’t bear it on your own.

Xiao Qi,

let me tell you-

Princess Consort, in a few days, it will be the death anniversary of Grand Elder Princess.

Her room was sealed for a long time and it’s full of dust.

I would like to sweep it in advance.

Thank you for your hard work.

Zitan met you a few days ago.

The matters in the capital can’t escape from my ears.

Prime Minister, I would be bold to ask. What if Xiao Qi rebel?

What do you plan to do?

Although His Majesty Zitan obtained his throne from dubious gains,

but after all, he’s already sitting on it.

If Xiao Qi rebels, I will issue an official document

to assemble all the soldiers and horses from Jiangnan to crusade against the rebellion.

I will take out the late Emperor’s edict and support Jing’er as the new Emperor.

Late Emperor’s edict?

Why didn’t I know about this?

I, Wang Lin, has never done things I’m unsure of.

Otherwise, how could I have been irresponsible as to form an alliance with you?

I understand. Thank you, Prime Minister.

Please.

Be good.

Who is it?

Who’s there?

Be good. Don’t cry.

Wang’an?

Senior Maid Servant Xu.

What are you doing here?

On the way back from the capital, Patriarch

seeing how quiet this courtyard is, he rented this attic to entertain some important guests.

I had nothing to do and came here to serve.

- Stop crying. - Whose child are you holding?

Is the child Jing’er?

Who’s Jing’er?

It’s Jing’er.

Jing’er, stop crying.

Didn’t Prince Jiangxia said that he placed Jing’er under the care of a reliable family?

What is he doing here?

I’m not very sure too.

Senior Maid Servant Xu.

Prince Jiangxia.

It’s like this. After I came back from Jiangnan, I thought for a very long time.

I miss Jing’er. After all, he’s the late Emperor’s son.

Jiangnan is in chaos now.

It’s safer to keep him with me.

Hence, I sent someone to bring him back from Jiangnan.

Duke Suyi, you must not let Senior Maid Servant Xu sees you.

If A’Wu and her husband know that you are with me,

the consequence is unimaginable.

Why didn’t you notify Prince Yuzhang’s residence?

If Princess Consort knows that Jing’er is back, she will be so delighted.

Wait.

Senior Maid Servant Xu, let’s go out and talk.

Prince Jiangxia, hand over the child to me.

Senior Maid Servant Xu!

What are you doing?!

Senior Maid Servant Xu.

Wang’an, get the physician. Quick.

Yes.

Senior Maid Servant Xu.

Protect A’Wu.

Senior Maid Servant Xu!

Bury her next to your mother’s grave.

She will serve Grand Elder Princess all her life

and keep her company in her death.

Duke Suyi, you can’t stay here for long.

We will tidy up here.

- A’Yue. - Here.

Do you have any news of Senior Maid Servant Xu?

Not yet. Pang Gui went to Ci’an Temple to look for her.

The doorman said he didn’t see her coming out

but no one saw her in the temple.

This is strange.

- Prepare the carriage. - Prepare the carriage?

I will look for her on my own.

Yes.

I will go with you.

Alright.

Patriarch, Old Patriarch is temporarily staying at Qiufeng village tonight.

It used to be the stronghold of Wang Clan’s covert guards.

Although it’s shabby but it’s safe.

What about Senior Maid Servant Xu?

Qingyun has temporarily buried her body at the back of the mountain.

Patriarch, in my heart,

when I think of when Senior Maid Servant Xu

and I joined the Prime Minister’s residence together that year to serve him and Grand Elder Princess,

in a blink of an eye, more than twenty years have passed.

Till now, I dare not even think about that moment.

A live person just left like this.

By the way, Patriarch,

if Princess Consort doesn’t see Senior Maid Servant Xu, she will definitely look for her.

- Once Princess Consort finds out- - Get out.

Reporting, Princess Consort, I checked the temple and its surrounding. We can’t find any signs of Senior Maid Servant Xu.

Xu Shizhu came early this morning

to clean up the house of Grand Elder Princess.

As she’s familiar with this place,

we didn’t send anyone to follow her and didn’t know when she would leave.

But someone heard a child crying in the house.

Are you sure you sent someone to check carefully in Mother’s house?

That place-

That place is not very convenient.

Prince Jiangxia is temporarily using that place.

Older Brother?

Who is it?

Princess Consort, what brings you here?

You are indeed here. Where’s my older brother?

A’Wu.

What are you doing here?

Older Brother, did you see Senior Maid Servant Xu?

I’m here to look for her.

What’s going on?

Mother’s death anniversary is in two days.

She said that she would be here to clean up the place

but since she left, she hasn’t gone back.

We went out during the day and didn’t see her.

Why are you staying here?

I kept dreaming of Mother recently.

I believes she misses me.

Hence, I moved here to be close to her and keep her company.

You didn’t even tell me.

It’s fine for me to live alone. Unlike you,

what if you learn from me and move here too? Wouldn’t it be hard for Prince Yuzhang?
