A tragic husband,

a brave warrior of the country ascended in death.

[Memorial tablets of soldiers]

[Memorial tablets of soldiers]

[Memorial tablets of soldiers]

[Memorial tablets of soldiers]

Dear soldiers,

you are warriors of Ningshuo Army.

You are beloved generals of Prince Yuzhang

and also generals of Great Cheng. You are my beloved generals

who for many years, overcame obstacles and worked hard.

You survived under the blades of many enemies.

Now, without any clear reasons,

you died under the hands of your own people.

If I don’t redress your grievances,

how can I be worthy of the soldiers of Great Cheng?

How can I comfort the hearts of the people in the kingdom?

Above the Grand Hall, someone said,

the Emperor only prays to the heaven and earth,

the country and ancestors,

and there’s no reason to pray for the soldiers.

Starting from today, I will set a precedent.

Prince Yuzhang.

Great Prince.

Kill!

Report to Great Prince that my 500 soldiers

beheaded more than 2,000 soldiers from the Forbidden Army who came to encircle and suppress us!

We annihilated the Forbidden Army!

Ningshuo Camp!

- Live and die together! - Live and die together!

Kill!

Prime Minister Wen, why are you alone?

Yes.

I didn’t call the rest. I’m only waiting for you.

So to say, you have something important to tell me?

Yes.

Prince Jiangxia, regarding the situation at Mount Lianyu,

and the escape of Princess Consort from the capital,

was there an important person around?

Are you asking about the son of the Emperor?

Yes, the Crown Prince at that time.

Everyone in the palace knows that,

the late Emperor and Empress entrusted and

ordered my younger sister to take him out from the palace.

That’s right.

But where is the Little Prince now?

Princess Consort Yuzhang needs to explain.

Who to explain to?

The people in the kingdom?

Or the civil and military officials in the Imperial Court, or, perhaps, the current Emperor?

Prime Minister Wen, you are a smart person.

Who, among the civil and military officials in the Imperial Court and the feudal lords,

wouldn’t not want to know the whereabouts of the Little Prince?

But why didn’t anyone brings this up?

That’s because no one can guess what’s on His Majesty’s mind.

Little Prince needs to be the Crown Prince.

If he comes back, how will the current Emperor deal with this?

That’s right. Hence, I invited you here to discuss on how to handle this.

We can’t keep being indifferent.

It would be great if we can really be indifferent

just like the case at Mount Tianyu.

Many people hoped that Prince Yuzhang would be indifferent about that too.

I understand.

Getting to the bottom of this is not be a good thing.

Perhaps, just like now, this can benefit the stability of the Imperial Court

Prince Jiangxia,

can you tell me something in private?

Where is the Little Prince now?

I can swear that

I will never reveal what you tell me.

No other person will know.

She never mentioned it to me.

I also never asked.

This is too important. I’m afraid I might not be able to carry it.

It would be better to pretend being a confused man.

That Wang Su is more and more like his father.

He has many plans in his mind.

What Your Majesty means is

that Prince Jiangxia knows the whereabouts of the little emperor.

Since she was little,

A’Wu never hid anything from her brother.

I believe that what prince Jiangxia said makes sense.

The present circumstances might be even more profitable for the stability of the court.

But it’s most unprofitable for the Wang Clan of Langya.

It’s only a shame that those siblings won’t cooperate with me.

Otherwise, I would have had Jing’er sit on the throne much earlier.

How would it have come to this?

Your Majesty.

The country of Great Cheng can’t stand another reign of terror.

If there’s one to blame, it has to be opportunists like you.

Back then, you insisted on crowning Zitan as emperor.

The country can’t go one day without a sovereign.

All that we did was for the stability of the country.

We didn’t have any selfish desires.

Listening at your words, what kind of cold-blooded person are you?

What kind of heartless person?

Your Majesty.

If I was cold-blooded and heartless, why would I come often by Yong’an Palace?

You would be loyal to me?

- Your Majesty! - Answer me.

Get out! Get out!

Never come back here!

Get out!

Prime Minister Wen.

Get out!

Your Majesty, please calm down. Please calm down.

Your Majesty! Please calm down.

The rebellion of Mount Lianyu,

I know it was your plan.

But you never thought that, it would be useful to me.

To be honest with you,

the death of your son, Zilong...

I’m not resigned! I won’t admit defeat!

Your Majesty, calm down.

Please accept my respects, Your Majesty.

Rise.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Su Yibo.

Yes.

Tell me, how long as been since Xiao Qi came back to the capital?

To answer Your Majesty, it has been about more than a month since Prince Yuzhang came back.

You used to be his subordinate.

He has been back for more than a month, how come you didn’t pay him a visit?

I... have a lot of affairs to manage.

I didn’t have time yet to pay a visit to Prince Yuzhang.

Is it that you’re too busy to go or that you don’t want to?

To be honest, I can go.

But I don’t have to.

What do you mean?

I am one of Your Majesty’s officials.

Prince Yuzhang is also an official of Your Majesty.

I believe, that between officials,

it’s better to avoid suspicion of forming a clique.

I highly approve of your words.

I hope that your actions won’t disappoint me.

I am loyal to Great Cheng until my death.

Loyal until death to Your Majesty.

Su Yibo,

I called you alone today,

because I wanted to hear your truthful words.

No matter who it is, if they aren’t loyal to Great Cheng or Your Majesty,

they are Song Huai’en’s sworn enemies.

Remember.

In Great Cheng, there won’t only be Xiao Qi as a titled Prince.

If you don’t le me down, I won’t let you down.

Thank you, Your Majesty!

Soldiers of Ningshuo!

For Great Cheng!

- Charge! - Charge!

Huai’en, we’re brothers.

Prince, I am grateful.

The second day when I returned to the mansion, I thought it was unfair.

Therefore I asked him to return them.

You returned them all?

All of them!

The Prince is the first Prince of Great Cheng from a modest family.

Of course he is the leader of common people!

You are his most trusted subject!

Who am I, Su Yibo?

In my opinion,

the throne is only suitable for someone who commands thousand of people, like you.

You?

Su Yibo, now,

are you going against me?

How are things?

Very bad. The scholar officials keep their eyes on us.

It is very difficult to get any clue from their mouth.

Prince, Huan En is very close to them.

We could ask him to inquire some information.

That kid! Ever since the Prince has returned to the mansion he has never come to pay him a visit!

In any case, he also comes from Ningshuo Army.

What happened? After he became Su Yibo he’s not allowed to come anymore?

He doesn’t know us anymore!

You didn’t see the way he passed down the Imperial Edict, though!

He was such an actor!

He could not know me, you or the Prince anymore!

But if it wasn’t for the Prince, where would he be today?

In the beginning...when the Prince was conducting an investigation regarding the corruption at the royal court,

there were some cases which seemed to have a connection to Song Huan En.

Just that in the end, he followed Prince Jiangxia to Jiangnan to harness the flood.

Then the Prince also had to take care of the rebellion from Lianyu Mountain.

These cases seem connected.

Could it be that he is sensing something, therefore he is pushing us away on purpose?

He is afraid of being exposed! I really did not notice that!

It turns out that Song Huan En was the kind to bite the hand that fed him! Petty and corrupted!

Huan En is not like that!

In before I was charged with the crime of plotting against the king.

If he hadn’t drawn a clear line between me and him, I am afraid I wouldn’t have been able to stand for myself.

Prince! Now you are still talking on behalf of him?

Uncle Prince! Uncle Prince!

Qinzhi!

Aunt said you would go on a trip with us! Let’s go together!

Fine!

Let’s go!

Let’s go!

What are you doing? Qinzhi!

Qinzhi! What are you doing?

You come here! There are still a few of these here!

Be careful!

Qinzhi!

Qinzhi! Throw it a little bit further!

Your brother was wrong!

You are not listening! You are bullying me!

I was wrong! I was wrong! Qinzhi!

Qinzhi! Stop hitting your brother!

Xiaohe!

Prince!

Xiaohe, do you want a mother?

I want!

What about you, Qinzhi?

Then would you two accept A’Wu as your mother?

Of course!

Quick! Salute your mother!

- Stand up, now! - Greetings, mother!

Mother A’Wu!

Then from today on, Xiaohe and Qinzhi really are our children!

Mother...

Qinzhi, Xiaohe, maybe in the future there will also be Jing’er.

We have to raise them well.

After they get married, after the state will be at peace...

we will finally be at ease.

We will have a fulfilled family.

If the state is at peace,

then every family will live a good life, right?

Right.

My biggest desire is that common people will be rich and healthy.

Prince...

can’t you give up your duties?

And live a stable life with us?

Alright...

Wait for me to carry out the revenge..

and then we will have the life you are talking about.

Aunt Xu, Empress Dowager is throwing a tantrum again.

She keeps yelling asking to see Princess Consort.

Princess Consort！

Reporting to Her Highness, someone from Yongan Palace said that Empress Dowager had started to throw tantrums again.

She keeps yelling, asking for you.

My Long’er...

My Long’er! You ran away!

Aunt! A’Wu is here!

A’Wu! Go and save your brother, Zilong...fast...

there are people who want to harm him.

Aunt...Brother Zilong...

came back.

-Then I am going to see him! - Aunt...

Brother Zilong is exhausted.

He has already returned to Shiqian Palace to rest.

He said he would come back to see you.

Fine. If he comes back, that’s fine.

It’s so good he came back!

Why aren’t you sending her to the Imperial Physician?

Your Highness, we need the Emperor’s permission

to send after the Imperial Physician.

The Emperor...

Emperor...

Who is the Emperor?

Only my Long’er is the Emperor!

Be fast and tell Long’er he must not go to the paddocks!

They set up traps everywhere out there.

What traps?

Regicide traps!

They will frame Xiao Qi afterwards!

They, who?

Who else could be?

It’s Zitan!

- Zitan! Zitan! - Empress Dowager!

Why did you colloude with Helan Zhen to harm Long’er?

And frame Xiao Qi?

I beg you, set Long’er free!

He is your brother after all!

Aunt!

My Long’er had such a miserable death!

It is not possible... He died in his brother’s hands...

How could it be?

Princess Yuzhang, it is not allowed. I have to report it, first.

Princess Yuzhang!

A’Wu!

You may leave.

Yes.

What’s the matter?

Did you have anything to do with Helan Zhen in the past?

Helan Zhen told me everything!

Everything what?

The plot you planned in before.

The plot I planned with him in before?

We haven’t even met each other.

Then you tell me, why did you suddenly left the Imperial Mausoleum and come back to the capital

after the previous Emperor’s death?

Because I really did want to come back.

But I did not think I would be shoved on the throne.

What a coincidence!

What do you mean?

Are you suspecting me?

Of plotting to kill the Emperor and usurp the throne?

Am I wrong?

The Lianyu rebellion...was caused by you and Helan Zhen!

You killed the Emperor and framed Xiao Qi!

You killed two birds with one stone!

Then I am asking you,

If the Emperor dies, who should ascend the throne?

It should be the Emperor’s first son.

The crown prince of that time, Jing’er.

But you took Jing’er without permission from the palace.

So the state was left without a leader.

Only I could ascend the throne.

Don’t tell me you and I also colluded?

Don’t tell me it was my wish to sit on this throne.

I took out Jing’er of the palace so I could save him!

Then you should bring back Jing’er!

And make him sit on the throne!

Is it safe to bring him back now?

There were continuously people who wanted to kill him in before!

Little Prince! You can’t fall asleep!

You can’t fall asleep!

Little Prince! You can’t fall asleep! You can’t!

You can’t fall asleep!

Ridiculous!

Mommy Zheng is an elder from our Xie Family!

How could it be her? I am sure about that!

I won’t let an outsider sow discord!

Don’t tell me it was you!

So it was you during this entire time!

Only if Jing’er dies,

you would be truthfully entitled to this seat.

Zitan...

You are so terrifying.

I don’t recognize you anymore!

You couldn’t recognize me anymore from a long time ago.

Imperial Consort!

- What happened? - Consort Yuzhang went to see His Majesty.

You may leave.

Yes.

Look at me, if you still have a little bit of kindness left,

and integrity.

Then tell me clearly,

was all of this done by you or not?

You suspected me of it,

go right now and report it to the Empress Dowager!

Tell the officials from outside!

Also tell that Xiao Qi of yours who has thousands of soldiers!

That the rebellion of Lianyu was all set up with my own hands!

And I wanted to make him die because of it! To take revenge on him for stealing my wife!

I became like this...because of you!

Your Majesty...what has she just said to you?

Don’t touch me!

Empress Dowager,

Empress Dowager, the staff from Imperial Kitchen came to report that

The Emperor and the Imperial Consort had a big quarrel.

But they didn’t hear clearly what they were arguing about!

Princess Consort, this is a big problem!

I think you should maybe look for Prince Jiangxia and consult him!

Let me think about it.

Your Highness, the Prince has made a pledge,

that if he is to lay the hand on the real criminal behind the rebellion,

it doesn’t matter who that is, he will behead him.

In the memory of the killed soldiers of Ningshuo.

If he is to find out it was the Emperor...

Today’s event...

you can’t bring it up to anyone!

Yes...

- The fetus within your womb must be... - Over 7 months old.

But the pulse...

What is wrong?

Your Highness, is there something abnormal with your body?

There is nothing serious...

Just that lately I have been feeling dizzy and nauseous out of a sudden.

There is nothing wrong with your body, Your Majesty.

Just that your pulse is a little bit weak.

You must make sure you don’t get angry or overwork yourself.

You must rest and set worries aside.

Sorry for bothering you, Imperial Physician.

Then, I will depart now.

Send him off!

Yes!

- You want to run! - What do you want to do?

Let go! Let go of me!

Imperial Physician, what is actually going on with Consort Su?

It seemed as if it was difficult for you to disclose it.

Is there really something abnormal with the fetus?

- No. - Then?

I can not state it explicitly.

But medical practitioners should speak out the truth.

But we should also judge upon the situation.

When discussing about the Emperor’s offspring, one has to be prudent!

What if he is not his offspring?

He is not? He is not?

For real!

How is the Empress Dowager doing?

She took some medicine. Her condition has improved a lot.

What about the children?

It’s late, they are already asleep.

The precious Empress Dowager has already got old and sick.

And besides that she doesn’t have any child left.

She’s so pitiful.

Then, it is not a problem if you go to the palace to see her.

She wanted to kill you in the past.

Don’t you hate her?

Everything has already passed.

You suspected me of it.

Go and report it to the Empress Dowager right now!

Tell all the officials from outside!

Also tell that Xiao Qi of yours who has thousands of soldiers!

That the rebellion of Lianyu was all set up with my own hands!

And I wanted to make him die because of it! To take revenge on him for stealing my wife!

I should have given an answer to Xiao Qi.

But I...

Zitan and Xiao Qi...

One of them is the Emperor and the other is the General.

Zitan has committed a grave crime. He must accept the consequences.

But if Xiao Qi really...

That would be a calamity to this country.

The world will be in turmoil.

What should I do?

Imperial Physician Shen said that Imperial Consort Su is already pregnant for nine months.

However, she only entered the palace for seven months.

There has to be something up with this.

Something like this happened?

Did the other imperial physicians take a look?

Something so important...

Even if the physicians know, they don’t dare speak a word of it.

Alright.

I will report back immediately.

Continue keeping watch at the palace.

Yes.

I didn’t know

that Su Jin’er’s unborn child is not imperial blood.

Interesting. Amazing.

I really couldn’t imagine

a mere maid from the Wang clan

can have such methods.

Amazing.

However, who’s the father of her child?

This is not important.

What’s important is, as long as it’s not Zitan’s,

then we will have blackmail material.

Right now I happen to have something important that could use her help.

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty, Your Majesty.

-Your Majesty! -Go away.

-Your Majesty. -All of you.

Timing and Subtitles brought to you by The Emperor’s Conquests@ Viki.com

I became a stranger.

Recently, the grand administrators of Wujun, Lishui and Tangzhou

all sent missives.

They said Prince Yuzhang has merit in placating uprising chaos.

They are asking for the Nine Gifts Ceremony. [TN: ceremony to bestow highest honor and gifts to a nobleman]

There’s no one in this country who doesn’t know.

This is a sign for the sovereign to give up the throne.

I don’t understand what this Prince Yuzhang wants to do.

If you say he wants to usurp the throne,

but during the prime time to do so

he was quiet and didn’t act at all.

If you say he doesn’t want to take the throne, then what do you call this Nine Gifts Ceremony?

Perhaps this is not his intention?

Within a few days,

three grand administrators are very adamant in their desire and wishes.

Perhaps there will be more missives like this in the future.

Does Marquis Han believe this is all coincidental?

It looks like Prince Yuzhang

has not forgiven the turning at the hunting grounds.

At this point

the emperor has asked all the imperial clan and major clan leaders

to hold a memorial ceremony for the soldiers who lost their lives.

Throughout history, the emperor only hold ceremony for the heaven and earth and imperial ancestors.

This act is unique on its own. There’s no precedent.
