Episode 2

Are you still going around collecting evidence by yourself?

I feel more assured this way.

Oh, so what happened to Park Ki Young? Did you catch him?

What do you mean catch?

We don't know if he went up in the sky or he went down into the earth. He just disappeared.

I wonder where he went...

Since he's a hacker, maybe he's hiding in the computer...

Park Gi Young!

I will put you in jail.

I'll hold it.

There's a place around here that makes really good blood sausage soup.

Pasta's really good too...

Hey!

Excuse me.

Wait a minute!

Excuse me!

Chief,

what's wrong?

Where can you see the CCTVs of the whole building?

There's a room on the first floor.

Alright.

Why, why, why?

They said it's the Cyber Crime Investigators but we're just going around a lot.

Miss Yoo Kang Mi, what are you doing?

What's that?

Wait, is this...

Are you still looking for that file?

Ahh, the team leader is going too far with this.

Why does he want you to look for a file after the case is already closed?

I'm not doing this because the team leader told me to.

Then why?

Then why?

I'm looking for it because it may be an important piece of evidence.

But, wasn't there a different digital device you brought from the Shin Hyo Jeong crime scene?

A different digital device?

Uh... I mean, would I know?

Oh. There was a USB memory that we found.

I opened it and it was empty so I just gave it to the people that keep the evidence.

Is Park Ki Young crazy to come in here?!

I'm Chief Kwon Hyuk Joo from Dogok area Police.

Turn on all the CCTVs from 30 minutes ago.

Turn it on.

Put your hands up.

Investigator Yoo Kang Mi.

If you tell people to put their hands up with your pretty face,

who'd put them up?

Put your hands up!

I don't think you want to hear a long story,

so I'll get straight to the point.

Stay right there.

You look like you'd break with a hard hit.

But I also heard that you're quite smart.

Don't you want to know who killed Shin Hyo Jeong?

In here is the answer.

I don't want to hear your story anymore.

Why do you think I came in here?!

If we just find the information inside this,

we can find the suspect who really killed Shin Hyo Jeong.

The person who killed Shin Hyo Jeong is you.

The face that was reflected on the window was your face.

I didn't kill her.

That video was what you put up on the screen.

Digital evidence is easy to change.

That video? It was fabricated from the inside of the police station.

I can't believe you.

It's steganography.

It's steganography.

Steganography. The way of purposefully hiding a music or picture file. Hiding important information.

Shin Hyo Jeong used steganography to hide that file?

Before Shin Hyo Jeong died, she was going to send an e-mail to a news broadcasting place.

But she couldn't attach the file.

Why?

Because she got murdered before she could.

I couldn't see the suspect either.

But... I saw the file that she was going to attach.

If we just find that video file,

we can find the real suspect that killed Shin Hyo Jeong.

If so, find it here.

If you're telling the truth, then find it right here where I can see you do it.

Does this make sense?!

Why would someone come to where he is being looked for, around all these policemen?!

Because you keep acting like this, they're not calling me this, but everyone's calling you a "mad cow" .

Pause... Pause!!!

Rewind it a little.

Yeah right here.

Now play it.

Pause, pause, pause!

Right there.

I think he's really crazy.

Yeah...

I'm really starting to like this kid! Huh?!

-Is it that one? -Mhmm.

Now all I have to do is look for the other file in this one.

This is... it isn't the list file...

What are you?!

This file... you set it up! Didn't you?!

No... This is the first time I've seen it!

This is what we found together!

No... You killed Shin Hyo Jeong and you set all this up and you're acting!

If I killed Shin Hyo Jeong, I would be CRAZY to come in here!!!

I can't trust you.

Stand back.

It's Investigator Yoo Kang Mi from the Cyber Crime Squad.

Please connect me to the Security Control Department.

That gun is from this evidence room. There's no way there are any bullets in there.

Is he still in the building?

Suspect Park Gi Young's cell phone has been turned on. Please locate him.

Suspect Park Gi Young's cell phone has been turned on. Please locate him.

He's in the building!

He's on second floor.

Now he's on first! He's getting outside the building!!!!

The squad is moving!

Get him!!!

Stop it!

Get him!

Pull down your window!

It's not him...

Hold it, hold it, hold it!

1, 2, 3 open it!

What is this?

He's not here...

I really like this bastard!

This bastard is my style. Really.

Like this bastard!

It's me, Park Gi Young.

Are you listening?

I'm listening.

I found the file.

The file that Shin Hyo Jeong died because of,

I found it.

Are you sure?

We already checked the laptop computer of Shin Hyo Jeong,

but we couldn't find it.

It was hidden in the video file.

Steganography.

Let's meet.

We'll talk when we meet.

I also have something to tell you.

Okay,

let's meet.

I have something to tell you, too.

We cannot connect to you now, so we will connect you to the voice mail system.

Your message will be recorded after the beep.

Team Leader,

this is Yoo Kang Mi.

I have something to tell you.

I will wait for your call.

We found the location of suspect Park Gi Young.

Kyeonggi-do, Paju-si, Hwacheon-ri, no.100.

In the Segang chemical factory building. Repeat...

Turn back.

Yes.

Where is the file?

Did you bring it?

Have you opened it?

Yeah.

I saw it.

But this file,

it wasn't the list file.

It can't be...

It wasn't the sexual favors list, but

a video of someone getting murdered.

The young actress in her twenties, Shin Hyo Jeong,

why would she have that kind of file?

If I were to make a guess,

Shin Hyo Jeong had a serious relationship with someone whom she met as a guest during her sexual entertainment gig.

But..

she got that person's secret, about the person he killed.

So with that video, she threatened him.

But then...

she got murdered.

But there's something I really don't understand.

Why were you in that video?

From the day I quit being a police officer, there were no officers I could trust.

But there was one person I could trust,

that was you Kim Woo Hyun.

But why did you do that?

Even when there was someone dying right in front of you,

you didn't do anything.

Why?

Answer me, Kim Woo Hyun!

Cyber Crime Investigator Kim Woo Hyun found him first?

Yes. He found him, but when he got there, he was already dead.

That file...

you shouldn't have discovered it.

Who is it?

Who's the guy that killed Shin Hyo Jeong? What kind of guy made you like this?

It was you...

You...

Did you kill Shin Hyo Jeong?!

So you met him.

Right before you came here. You met him.

You met him, right?

What kind of relationship is he in with you?

What do you get for doing this?!?

I'm sorry.

Kim Woo Hyun!

Is this incident related to the suspect of Shin Hyo Jeong case?

I heard that there was a policeman at the scene of the incident as well.

Are there any survivors?

There's a person over here!

Hello? Can you hear me?

The Police Department hasn't announced anything so far.

On the internet, there are many doubts about the Shin Hyo Jeong incident.

Who killed Shin Hyo Jeong and why.

The truth is still a mystery.

Have you come to your senses?

Calm down. You can't talk because we put a pipe in your bronchial tubes.

Doctor, he's awake!

Patient, the factory you were in blew up.

Do you remember?

You are the only one that came out alive.

You being alive is a miracle.

Doctor, his blood presure is dropping!

Increase the quantity of IV fluids.

Kim Woo Hyun!

I told you to watch your back.

You have to watch my back.

Team Leader Kim Woo Hyun is in critical condition.

And Park Gi Young died on the spot.

Yes.

We moved the body of Park Gi Young to the National Institute of Scientific Investigation already.

They will determine the cause of death through an autopsy.

He used to be on a rampage like he was the best without noticing a senior or a junior.

He's made the problem come this far.

He was going to catch the suspect and he got in an accident.

Before he went to catch the criminal he should've gotten some people to go with him!

So what? And make the problem bigger?

The Police have already been humiliated enough as it is by the Shin Hyo Jeong case.

It's better to close up this incident right now.

We can't do that.

The reason that Kim Woo Hyun went alone to see Park Gi Young,

and how Park Gi Young died, we have to find these out.

Sit.

Director?

Close this incident.

We absolutely can not do that.

It's an order!

Leave it!

Lieutenant Yoo?

Why don't you go home?

We will call you if something happens.

No.

There is something that I have to confirm.

The copy of Shin Hyo Jeong's hard disk is still in the office, right?

I guess so.

Lieutenant Yoo did check it.

Wait!

Subtitles brought to you by Cyberghost Team @ viki.com

Is it that one?

Now all we have to do is find the file that is in this file.

Investigator Lee Kyung Mi!

Weren't you at the hospital?

Yes.

Ohhh...

So... how's the Team Leader? Did he get better?

I called you but you didn't answer.

My cell phone broke...

Investigator Han Young...

Yes.

By any chance, did you touch the copy of Shin Hyo Jeong's hard disk? By any chance, did you touch the copy of Shin Hyo Jeong's hard disk?

By any chance, did you touch the copy of Shin Hyo Jeong's hard disk?

No. Why would I?

I would have to know to touch it.

Did any other officers touch it?

No. They were with you in the hospital.

Why? Did something happen?

It's easy to change digital evidence.

That video?

It was manipulated inside the Police department.

Yoo Kyung Mi.

What? Did something happen?

No. It's nothing.

Oh... okay...

Anyway, I was thinking about going to the hospital. Do you want to go together?

You can go first.

I have something to look for.

Oh.. Alright.

What am I doing right now?

Investigator Yoo Kang Mi?

Oh yes!

What's wrong?

Do you have something you want from me?

I heard you found Kim Woo Hyun Team Leader first.

Oh... yes.

Oh... yes.

There's someone here!!!

I didn't know what to do.

I thought he'd obviously died.

It's Kim Woo Hyun Team Leader!

So, he had the identity card?

Yes.

Why?

Is there a problem?

Step back.

Lieutenant Yoo?

Are you alright?

Yes, I'm fine. Thank you.

What was that?

Was that Yoo Kang Mi?

Yes.

What did she say? -That is...

she asked me if I found Kim Woo Hyun first.

Team Leader Kim Woo Hyun?

I guess she worries about him.

How nice she is!

So pretty!

She said Team Leader Kim Woo Hyun?!

It is not allowed, but I will let you in since it is just for a moment.

He went through a critical condition, but still

he needs to be stable absolutely.

It really needs to be just for a moment.

NO MATCH

You...

are Park Gi Young, right?

You are Park Gi Young, right?

Tell me?

Are you really Park Gi Young? Tell me?

He tried to kill me.

What are you doing?

Get out!

It was not an accident.

Someone

else was there.

I told you he needs to be stable absolutely.

Please go back.

Hades

I met Park Gi Young.

What?

Someone asked Park Gi Young

to find the file named 'Phantom' in the notebook computer of Shin Hyo Jeong.

Phantom?

I don't think Park Gi Young was lying to me.

So, try to find it again.

Hello?

Detective Han?

This is Yoo Kang Mi.

I'm in the hospital now.

Team Leader Kim Woo Hyun...

What? Why?

Is his condition getting worse?

No, that's not it.

I don't know whom I should call.

Hello?

There was someone else in there.

Sorry, I will call you back.

Excuse me?

Hello?

Hello?

Where is the patient that was here before?

He went to the exam room to get examined. Is that all?

Please get out now.

What happened?

Who is that person?

Talk to me!

What exactly happened that day?!

Woo Hyun was regretting it.

I'm sorry.

Go.

Go to another country and just live quietly.

That's the only way you can live.

Who is it?

Who is it?

Soon the police will arrive.

Hurry, go.

No.

Before I finish this case, I'm not going.

Inside the laptop,

even if you were going to give the Phantom file over,

it wouldn't become evidence saying you didn't kill Shin Hyo Jeong.

In the end, you would be running away from being a murderer.

Or you're going to die.

Woo Hyun.

You can be the witness.

I'm not the only one!

There are more sympathizers inside the Police Department.

The video being set up, everything is related to that person.

So you're related to him too?

Is that why you became a policeman?

From the first,

I'm the one who messed up.

Therefore,

I'm going to turn it around.

Ask me to hide, and then your going to catch them?

If it's dangerous for me, it's dangerous for you, too.

I...

came here to kill you, and I can change my mind whenever I want to, so...

hand over the laptop and leave.

I'll do it.

I don't know how powerful this guy is, but

I'll put him in jail by myself. So just watch out.

PARK GI YOUNG!

-Gi Young... -RUN!

Woo Hyun...

Woo Hyun!

Woo Hyun!

Woo Hyun.

I have to turn it back.

I have to turn it back.

Gi Young...

I have to turn it back!

I'm sorry...

Woo Hyun!

I don't believe you.

Kim Woo Hyun Team Leader...

there's no way he would've done that.

Woo Hyun...

was asking to turn it all around.

I lived.

Even though Woo Hyun died,

the person that blamed the murder on me,

and killed Woo Hyun... I'm going to catch them.

Hey!

Hey!

Come to your senses!

Don't trust anyone!

Anyone!

What do you think you're doing?

Move him to the ICU quickly!

Subtitles brought to you by Cyberghosts Team @Viki.com

Why are you so surprised?

No, just that...

Why are you here?

When we transferred the patient from the factory,

it was such an urgent situation that we couldn't check the fingerprints of the patient.

Even if it's late, I think I should still do it.

If the video was manipulated...

That video? It was manipulated inside the Police Department.

Someone asked Park Gi Young to find the file called Phantom in the notebook computer of Shin Hyo Jeong.

I'm not the only one!

There are other sympathizers within the police department.

He asked me to turn it back.

I have to turn it back.

Gi Young!

Have to turn it back!

Chief?

I did it already.

What?

As you said, it is necessary to confirm it, so I checked his fingerprints.

He is Team Leader, Kim Woo Hyun.

Are you sure?

Yes.

No, I can't.

I like to check things with my own hands.

And on top of that,

I can't believe you.

Team Leader Kim Woo Hyun is in critical condition.

They said he needs to be absolutely stable.

I'm from Dogok Police.

Can I see patient Kim Woo Hyun?

How many times do I have to tell you?

Visiting is absolutely not allowed!

Okay.

In a few hours, the truth will come out anyway.

The autopsy of Park Gi Young will happen at 10 o'clock today.

Byun Sang Ho? Did you get the dental records of Park Gi Young?

No, no, no.

I'll go and get it myself.

I'm from Dogok Police.

Okay.

Why are you using our computers as a zombie computer? (Without the users intention, it can be controlled remotely)?

You aren't trying to take out our hospitals records right?

If we investigate, it'll come out.

Sorry to bother you, but could I get a cup of coffee?

Yes.

Park Gi Young

Here's Park Gi Young's dental records.

Okay. Thank you.

I have fixed the malignant codes.

Please be careful with unconfirmed email form now on.

Subtitles brought to you by the Cyberghosts Team @Viki.com

[Autopsy]

Case no.2234.

This is the dental records for an identity check.

His pulse is getting lower and lower. Call the doctor!

We will start the autopsy of the body which was from a factory explosion in100 Hwacheon-ri.

Scalpel.

Did you inject epidural?

It's atrial fibrillation!

Prepare the machine quickly.

How is it?

Since the burn was severe, so I can't say correctly,

the cause of death is multiple damages by explosion.

Did you check by the teeth?

Yes. The person that died is...

It's charged.

Clear. Shoot.

Clear!

Shoot!

I'm sure that he was Park Gi Young, the suspect from the Shin Hyo Jeong case.

-Are you sure? -Yes.

The dental records matched perfectly.

Take care.

Park Gi Yeong...

is dead.

We spent 1 hour for CPR.

Stop it. That's enough.

The patient Kim Woo Hyun, the time of death, 11:10 am.

Wait a minute!

Huh?

Huh? His heart's beating!

By the way, did Mr.Kim bring the dental records?

I guess so.

[Locker]

The case no.2234, this is the dental records for the identity check.

Congratulations on your rebirth, Kim Woo Hyun!

As a result of autopsy,

the survivor has been found to be Kim Woo Hyun.

Park Gi Yeong is dead.

Don't be off your guard.

Words from Mr. Phantom

[Park Gi Yeong]

It's all fixed.

Thank you.

Goodbye.

Yoo Kang Mi.

The file I told you to look for,

you can stop looking for it now.

There's no need.

You must be tired. Go home.

The third message.

Policemen... must not quit.

They must catch the suspect.

That's my goal.

That's my goal.

But I think that's going to be difficult for me this time.

From the beginning,

it was a mistake.

Yoo Kang Mi,

don't become someone like me.

Become a...

good policeman.

Team Captain...

I won't become like you.

I won't give up.

The person who did this,

I won't ever

forgive him.

I'll put you...

back in the right place too.

That time, the words I really wanted to say...

I think I can say them all.

Subtitles brought to you by Cyberghosts Team @Viki.com

You survived it well...

Survived it well...

Are you okay?

How come...

You went to see Park Gi Young by yourself?

Chief Kwon?

I can't help it even if he's a patient.

Team Leader Kim Woo Hyun had ignored the principle and disturbed the investigation.

Didn't I tell you to stop?

No. I would also like to hear.

Tell us.

What happened on that day?

I don't remember...

anything.

He says he can't remember, so stop this right now.

Sunbae!

He's a man who died and came back to life.

It'd be stranger if he remembered everything perfectly.

It'd be stranger if he remembered everything perfectly.

Rest.

You have to get well... and come back to work.

Even if you do come back, what you did doesn't go away.

You're responsible for your actions.

Even though I don't like you,

I never once thought you were incompetent.

But...

Why...

did you suddenly move independently?

It can only be one of two reasons:

To get a credit to earn a special promotion without thinking yourself,

or

to cover the suspect.

The answer is the second one, right?

It's no use to say you have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or whatever.

Because I

am the Mad Cow.

I'll see you often.

We'll see each other a lot...

Kim Woo Hyun has broken every bone in his face.

The chin, nose and cheeks,

all of his facial bones have been destroyed.

We will reconnect the bones with titanum which were disconnected before in the first operation.

To recover the face before the accident, you have to go through a few operations and treatments.

If you get an operation for recovering vocal cords and get some treatments, it's not impossible to recover your original voice.

The right leg and elbow were broken by the explosion also.

Fortunately, there is no neurological damage, so if he gets rehabilitating treatments, there will not be a big problem.

But the back and arm which got burned, there will be scars left.

The evidence is all gone.

The notebook computer of Shin Hyo Jeong has been burned.

The video copy also has been erased.

Even if we tell people that that's Park Gi Young and tell them the truth,

they won't believe us unless we have evidence.

Even though we have no evidence, we have a witness: Kim Woo Hyun.

There are others who are sympathetic to this man in the police station.

He knew who killed Shin Hyo Jeong and concealed that man's identity.

If Woo Hyun was alive...

the real suspect will definitely contact Woo Hyun.

The only way to see the truth is if...

I become Kim Woo Hyun.

Shin Hyo Jeong Murder Incident. 1 year later.

This is the 1 year anniversary of death of Shin Hyo Jeong in Pyeong Hwa Won,

who was killed by a stalker last year.

H....Hello?

Hello??

Pick. Up. The.

Pick. Up. The. Phone.

Remember the sin made by your hand.

Remember the sin made by your hand.

What do you mean? The patient disappeared?

At first I thought he was in the resting room,

but no matter how hard we look, we can't find him.

Hey! Are you out of your mind? How can you just leave the hospital like--

Since it is the 1 year anniversary,

I shouldn't miss it.

Woo Hyun,

tomorrow is my first day at work.

To the Phantom that

made me and Woo Hyun like this,

the Ghost that's hiding behind the monitor,

I'll stop him in your stead.

From now on,

I am...

I am Kim Woo Hyun.

Kim Woo Hyun.
