Previously on Good Witch

- Things are different. - And now we just have to figure out

- how to live with how things are. - When did you start selling chocolates?

When I decided I wanted to be known as someone

who sells something other than flowers.

- Did you find the place? - Yeah. Thanks to you.

He ended up buying it, and he's moving here.

You can eat out in the garden, if you'd like.

Here you go. Enjoy.

- Oh, hey. Good morning. - Morning.

Hey, um, you can help yourself to some breakfast.

- Well, thanks for inviting us. - Sure.

I have to say, this definitely beats the cold cereal and toast

- Sam was offering me next door. - It's always worth the trip.

- Fruits? And yogurt? - When did you start eating that?

It's because of her.

So you've made some improvements on this guy, huh?

Sam's been good for me, too.

Oh, Liam, uh, you were asking if we had any rooms available here.

After check out, there's going to be two.

That's how many we need.

So, you're moving to Grey House?

Only until we can find a place of our own.

- Well, there goes the neighborhood. - Good morning, Nick.

Hey, uh, Dad said breakfast was here today?

You can take it to go, if you'd like.

And there's some fruit, unless Sam ate it all.

I will take whatever he left.

So, when's Noah getting here?

- Tonight. - Noah's moving here, too?

Yeah, he's looking forward to seeing you.

Thank you for breakfast.

- I'll see you later. - Ooh, pineapple!

Excuse me, you probably don't remember me, but...

Oh, you were in my store last summer.

- Yes, I was! - Did your parents like

the atlas you got them for their anniversary?

You remember that, too!

My cousin remembers a lot of things.

Well, I pay attention, that's all.

Your mom and dad seemed

like they were ready to travel the world.

Yeah, except we didn't even know they wanted to do that,

so how did you?

Well, something you said must have started me thinking.

Thanks again. I'm sorry to have interrupted.

- That's okay. - Bye!

You're very popular today.

Yoo-hoo, Cassie!

Here comes another one of your fans.

Martha. How are you, Tom?

Just trying to keep up with this one.

Cassie, your suggestion to take an evening stroll together

each night was excellent advice for this long term marriage.

- The fresh air's been nice. - We've had some good talks.

Now, I know you hear this all the time

but I just wanted to say it myself, as well:

you are an absolute treasure.

Well, you keep walking and talking.

We'll do both. Ta-ta!

- Oh, Abigail. - Hi.

Nice to see you, too.

But I'm sure that everything was in compliance...

- Except everything was not. - But I expect

- it will by the time I come back. - I'll make sure that it is.

- Good. - Who was that?

A new health inspector.

The regular one always said that everything about the Bistro

was perfect. But this new guy

just waltzes in here, citing me for like,

how far the dish towels are hanging off the rack.

- Is that an infraction? - No, but he wrote it down anyway!

And he said he'd be back all week for surprise inspections.

- Don't let it get you stressed. - Just relax and know

that you don't have to be shaken by unexpected things.

Thanks. You always seem

to know exactly the right thing to say.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some dish towels to adjust.

- How do you do that? - What?

Care about people's problems so much?

A lot of the people here were customers in my shop.

So that means that if I were selling

the right thing at my store, they'd all want to talk to me?

It certainly would get you noticed more.

Yes, it would.

- Hi. - Hi.

- It'll look great in my store. - Then it's on the house.

- Oh? - A "thank you" for the idea

- you gave me. - Which idea is that?

- I've got a new product today. - Do you want to try one?

No, thanks. You should save those for people

- that need them the most. - Hmm!

- Thank you. - You're welcome.

- Stephanie. - Hi.

Can I help you?

- Yeah. I need to exchange this. - It's just a little too big.

I've got lots of others.

- Um, actually, you know what? - I'm just gonna get a refund

and come back and choose something when

- I'm a little less frazzled. - Why are you frazzled?

That health inspector.

I'm just... I'm so on edge, knowing he could

come back at any minute and be all,

"Fix this or change that!"

Maybe you need something

soothing to keep your mind off of all that.

- You know what. - That's a really good idea.

I think I'm gonna stop off at Cassie's and see

if she has any relaxing oils or scented candles.

You know, there are things that I sell

that are as good as anything at the Bell, Book and Candle.

- Like what? - I am so glad you asked.

I just got these chocolates in from Venezuela.

They're quite unique, and I individually wrapped

each one to give them my own special flair.

Well, I just don't even know

what to change before that inspector comes back.

Mmm. These are good.

I mean, he just keeps marking down violations

and saying, "rules are rules,"

but he won't tell me which rules I'm breaking.

The only rule you should be thinking about right now

is this; relax, and enjoy.

That's true.

I can relax because I am following the rules.

And I can prove it.

You know, these are so good. Can I get a whole box?

I'll get you one.

You should get some of these ones. They're fantastic.

They're individually wrapped, with my own special flair.

They might even help with your problems.

Mm. I know they helped mine!

Mm. Thanks!

Ladies! You're shopping for anything in particular?

- Oh. Abigail. - No, not really.

I just stopped to see what caught Tara's eye.

Oh, I'm just window shopping, that's all.

Well, have you heard what I started selling at my shop?

- No. - The finest handcrafted chocolates,

each with that Abigail Pershing touch.

- They sound wonderful. - Mhm.

I bet both your husbands would love them.

You know, what an interesting idea.

Tom used to buy me chocolates but I don't think

- I ever bought any for him. - You should come see me then!

I will. I'll stop by later today and pick up a box.

And I'll come get some for Brandon, too.

Great.

They say that chocolates can be a great conversation starter.

Yes, it can be.

You know, Abigail, I'm so very glad that we ran into you today.

You're just bursting with good ideas.

- Almost like Cassie herself. - Hm!

- What's going on? - I'm here for an inspection.

But you were just here this morning.

And I came back. Unannounced.

Huh. You know I am so glad that you did,

because I remembered that I have the regulations book right here.

Every single rule in this book

I have followed exactly. So you can either tell me

that this book is wrong, or you can let me

get back to running my restaurant.

- I don't have to see that. - I went away and looked

at the past reports and they're all perfect.

Just like things are now. So I'll let your rating stand.

- Just like that? - Well, you convinced me.

What happened?

Huh? Oh, I just...

I didn't know how I was going to handle that guy

if I saw him again, but it seems that the perfect words

just came to me at exactly the right moment.

Hm. Maybe it was something in those chocolates.

There're practically enough instruments

- to start a whole band. - You never know what kind

of useful things you're gonna find in that attic.

When did you want to get this over to donate to the school?

Oh, I, uh, I told Mrs. Grandstaff

that I would drop them off tomorrow afternoon.

Oh, well then they can stay here 'til then.

It is so good to be home!

Rough day at the flower shop?

Those chocolates I started selling had customers

coming in and out of my store all day.

A lot more people to pay attention to.

Yes, and I can hardly handle all this new business by myself.

Do you have any time after school tomorrow? I can pay you.

Oh, I promised that I would drop those off at the band room.

Well, they're okay where they are for another day or two.

- Then I guess I'm free. - Great. You're hired.

Wait, that was probably the fastest job interview I will ever have.

It was an easy decision; you're related to the boss!

Thank you for letting me borrow your daughter.

I think it's gonna be very helpful for you to have Grace there.

Yeah. But don't think I'm gonna go easy on you

just because we're related. I'll probably go easy on you.

- How could you not? - We're related!

You want to get something to eat?

- If you want. - Where do you want to go?

Oh, you can pick a place.

- Hey. - Hey!

- Hey. - Where are you headed?

Uh, we were going to go to the movies but I guess

we're going to get something to eat instead.

We can go to the theater and snack on something there.

Except you didn't have dinner when we got home, so...

That's because you needed me to...

- Whoops. - Yeah.

We're just trying to enjoy being together.

Well, looks like you're doing that, quite well.

Tara even brought me a present, just because she was thinking about me.

- Abigail's chocolates. - They're really good.

Well, enjoy your night.

- Thank you. You, too. - Okay, bye.

- See ya. - Bye.

Well, they seem to be getting along.

Maybe there really is something in those chocolates.

- Yeah, might be. - Hm!

When are Liam and Noah getting here?

I'm not really keeping track on that.

Aren't you looking forward to seeing him?

Grace, it's been two years

since he and I even talked. We're kind of not...

- Okay! Oh, look! - There they are now.

This is where we get to stay?

- Well, for a few days. - Hey, Grace, this is Noah.

- Hey. - Welcome to Grey House.

And you remember that guy.

Uh, yeah...

I'm going to head home.

I didn't know we were finished.

I am.

I'm gonna go grab the rest of my stuff.

Sure.

That was weird. I thought they were really good friends.

- Yeah, they used to be. - Well, not anymore.

Hey.

- Hey. Excuse me. - What are you doing here?

Well, I uh... thought I would come check out the place

- now that you're the new owner. - Yeah.

- It's starting to feel like mine. - Noah get in okay?

He did, last night.

I bet he and Nick were happy to see each other.

It was a little weird. Neither of them seemed like they were.

- Well, it has been a while. - Yeah. Might be awkward,

- figuring out how to catch up. - Yeah.

If you're free tonight, you and Cassie should drop by,

we can hang out. Give me a chance

- to tell her about the real you. - Sounds like a threat.

I'm only going to tell her the truth.

- So it is a threat. - Little bit, yeah.

Oh, that looks nice there.

- Thanks. - So, you and Brandon

seemed to be having a good time last night.

Yeah, I think what we're doing is really working.

- And what are you doing? - We just decided

we're not going to fight anymore, so if we feel

one coming on, we start talking about something else.

- And you're able to avoid it? - We're trying, yeah.

It's kind of quiet in here today.

Yeah. Some of our customers must be getting

what they need from someone else.

I just hope she's giving them what they need.

Thank you. Let me know how your mom enjoys those.

And how can I help you today?

Oh!

Sorry.

There you are. I've been texting you all day.

Which is why I came here to tell you to cut it out.

I want to know what the deal is with you and Noah.

I don't want to talk about that.

- You used to be best friends? - Yeah, I thought so.

So, what happened?

I learned I need to pick better friends.

- Nick... - Just drop it, okay?

Noah's not my friend anymore, and you should stay away

from him, too. Everybody thinks he's such a good guy,

- but none of them know. - Um, Grace?

Yeah, sorry.

Look, I have to get back to work.

But I'm going to find out what happened.

Not from me.

Well, you should see what happens when this guy lands

on Boardwalk and you own it, with a hotel.

I can be a little bit competitive.

I have never seen this side of you.

If we can avoid playing Monopoly, you never will.

What other surprising secrets am I gonna find out about you?

None, that's why they're called "secrets."

- Let me get the next round. - Sam, I'm the owner.

Everything's on the house.

Look, I already owe you for landing on Boardwalk.

I don't want to be in debt for beer, too.

Sam is going to love having a friend like you in town.

- He's such a great guy. - I didn't realize

how much I missed him 'til I saw him again.

Well then, it's a good thing you found your way to Middleton.

Yeah, well, it was finding this place that made me decide

to stay. So I'm kind of here thanks to you.

Are you going to have music here every night?

Yeah, you know, I'm thinking about it.

I might even try to convince Sam to get up there and play a bit.

Oh, that's gonna take a lot of convincing.

- What, are you kidding? - He only puts his guitar down

long enough to pick up a scalpel.

You've seen him play right? He's really good.

Well, I haven't really seen him

play guitar much at all. Maybe once, but...

- He doesn't play anymore? - Not in front of me, no.

- Oh. That's weird. - He used to play all the time.

Well, maybe he's waiting for the right time

- to pick it back up again. - Hm.

Alright. What are you guys talking about?

- Um, you. - Don't believe anything he says.

Yeah, I was just telling her what a great guy you are.

Okay, that part's true.

- Here you are! - Hello!

Hello, Martha.

Oh! Cassie!

I was just... uh...

seeing what this place had to offer.

Yeah, I thought I'd stop by and check out the competition.

Oh, I'm so sorry you haven't seen me in your store for a couple of days.

That's all right. I'm always there when you need me.

All I really need right now is more of Abigail's chocolates.

I bought some for Tom yesterday and he already wants another box.

Well, I hope he appreciates that very thoughtful gift.

Don't wanna lose my place in line.

- Mom! - Hey honey. How's business?

Super busy, and I know that

I have to get all the donations to school and I will, I promise.

I've didn't even noticed they were there.

Oh, another customer. Go help Abigail.

- Hey Cassie. - Hey.

So this is where all the customers are, huh?

I thought I should check this place out.

Yeah. Abigail's gotten really good

at giving people what they want.

I just hope she figures out how to keep them coming back.

- Sam's friend. - Liam, right?

- And you're Abigail. - You remembered.

Looks like this is the best run business in town.

- You think so? - Yeah.

Maybe we could get together some time.

I'm not really dating right now...

Um, for a business meeting.

I just... bet I could learn a lot from you.

Oh. Sure. Yeah, I'd love to.

Ok, great. Um, let me get settled in

- and then I'll set something up. - Great.

- Great shop. - Thank you.

Well, you showed up right on time to see all this.

- All of what? - I've got the busiest shop

in Middleton, the new guy in town is interested in me.

I'm even spending all this time with your daughter...

It's like you and I traded places.

It sort of looks like it.

What do you mean you're sold out?

- I'm sorry. That's just... - that's all there is.

Well, I've wasted a trip.

Don't bother, there's no more.

Is that true?

Uh, we just sold the last box?

Actually we have a few more boxes.

Tell all your friends this place never runs out!

Where did you get those from?

- The grocery store. - I wrapped them the same

as the others so they still have the Abigail flair.

Well, aren't people going to notice the difference?

Not if we don't tell them.

Here you go. Packed extra-special, just for you.

Grace, let the guests know that breakfast is ready.

- Morning. - Oh, hey.

- Hi Nick. - Grace invited

- Nick and me over for breakfast. - Oh.

Well, that's fine, there's plenty.

Nick. Hey.

- Noah, how did you sleep? - Oh great. Yeah.

This place is awesome. You get a bed and breakfast.

- Good morning. - Glad you came over.

Yeah, but I'm actually not that hungry, so...

Thanks, anyway.

Well, looks like I ruined this party.

But thank you very much for this.

I feel like those two need to talk.

Yeah, I don't know what's going on.

Mom, could we have dinner tomorrow night?

All of us, plus Liam and Noah and Nick?

- That sounds like a great idea. - Yeah, we'd love to come.

I work after school, but I'll be home in time to eat.

- Alright. - I'll see ya.

- Bye. - See ya later.

You know,

I have actually learned to love fruit and yogurt.

See? I knew you'd come around.

Thank you. Bye-bye.

It doesn't seem fair that I'm getting paid to work today.

There's hardly anyone here.

Except you never know when somebody might come in

and need something from both of us.

Are you even open?

Yes, we are.

And one of my best customers just walked through that door.

I've been feeling disloyal, buying so much from Abigail,

so I thought I should get something from you.

Well, what are you looking for?

Oh, whatever. Maybe one of your little creams or lotions.

Something frivolous to take away my guilt for not shopping here.

I think I have something that might interest you.

This is infused with cocoa bean,

it's supposed to be very powerful.

My, what a lovely tray.

You know, Tom gave me one just like it

for our 25th wedding anniversary.

Oh, 25 years.

Oh, we're several years beyond that now...

I wonder how Brandon and I will be doing

when we're that old. Uh...

when we're that experienced.

Think how many evenings you'll have shared together by then.

What a wonderful idea.

Tom and I should share an evening with you.

That way, you and Brandon can experience us yourselves.

Oh. We'd love to.

- We'll do it tonight. - Six thirty.

You know, I've been looking for the right reason to fire up

that old fondue pot, and finally it has arrived!

I thought she was going to buy something...

That's okay. I'm just glad she decided to come in.

Hey! Can I help you find something?

Thanks. We are going to the Tinsdales for dinner;

I wanted to take them something. Maybe some flowers, or a plant?

Why don't you take them chocolates?

Oh, do you have the same kind you were selling before?

Basically the same, yeah.

Um...

I think that guy wanted to talk to you.

Yeah, everybody does.

It's taking up all of my time.

I think your dinner hosts are gonna love these.

Oh, they're so good. Brandon and I were finishing the box

I gave him, we were talking about how we're trying not to...

- Do you want the whole box? - Oh. That should be enough.

Tom and Martha are going to tell us all about how they're...

Sorry, I have customers after you.

Excuse me, tiny little...

The line starts over there.

Thanks for letting me borrow this.

Sure. Did it reach?

To just where I needed it to.

How long have you had those?

Uh, that acoustic I got in college.

And the electric when I thought it'd be cool

to have an electric guitar.

You play them much?

Um, no. I used to,

when Nick was younger. He'd sing along

with his mom, but now,

I just leave them out where I can see them,

in case the mood strikes me.

Well, I hope someday that it does.

Hmm.

It's so wonderful having young people

in our home, for a change!

Well, thank you so much for having us.

Oh, here. I got these at Abigail's.

- Oh, you shouldn't have. - But I'm thrilled that you did.

Abigail wrapped each one herself.

Then we might as well unwrap a few.

As long as we don't fill up before dinner. Ooh!

- Can I lend a hand? - Oh no, no.

You two go and sit down. Tom and I will get the fondue ready.

- Oh please, let me help. - No, no. Honestly,

- Tom and I like to do things together. - Okay.

Are you sure that these are the same as before?

That's what Abigail said.

Hmmm. Well, dinner will be ready in just a moment.

Oh, Tom, where is our 25th anniversary tray?

- I want to put the fruit on it. - The silver one?

Yes, I couldn't find it anywhere.

Well, I sold it at the garage sale.

- You sold it? - You said we should

get rid of anything we hadn't used in over a year,

and it'd been way longer than that.

Yes, but that was a keepsake.

Then you should have told me to keep it.

I shouldn't have to tell you everything that's important.

Except now you're blaming me for doing exactly what you said.

- Whether I'm blaming you or... - You are...

I want you to know that that was important to me.

Well, I got twenty-five bucks for it.

Oh! Well, excuse me.

Thank you for the chocolates.

Don't!

So do you see Noah's mother very much?

I try not to. What about you? Do you see Linda?

Yeah, she came to Middleton a while ago.

She seemed to think we could pretend to be a family again.

- How'd that go? - Well...

we're not a family anymore.

I remember the day your divorce papers came through.

Oh, yeah. You look forward to that moment,

then when it finally happens, you're just reminded

what a failure you are for not being able to make it work.

That was the day you told me you'd never fall in love again.

- I probably did say that. - So, you broke that pledge.

- I guess I did. - And, you said

you'd never get married again, either.

- I meant that. - Pff.

- Oh, hey. - Hey.

Can I get a refund for these leftover chocolates?

- They don't work. - One second.

Abigail. Stephanie wants to talk to you about a return.

If the box is opened, I can't take it back.

Abigail...

Stephanie needs to talk.

Oh...

What seems to be the problem?

- It's these chocolates. - They don't work anymore.

Ugh! I gave a box

to that health inspector when he came back this morning,

but he just started handing out violations

like he did the first time he came around,

and telling me everything I was doing was wrong.

He seems very unreasonable.

Yeah, like more than anyone I've ever met.

Look, I know how to run a business

I mean, I started two of them.

And if anyone knows how to follow the rules, it's me.

But it just, it seems like he doesn't even care,

and if he gives me a bad rating, well...

Listen. No matter

what anybody throws at you, you can stand up against them.

You're one of the strongest women I know,

so just keep on being yourself, and everything's gonna be okay.

Whether the chocolates work or not.

- Thanks. - I can get rid of those,

- if you want. - No. I bought them;

I may as well finish what I started.

- Hey. - Hi.

Cassie sent me over to pick up some flowers for her shop?

Yup. I have them all ready for you. Did Martha

and Tom like the chocolates that you brought them?

I don't know. We didn't stick around long enough

to see them get eaten.

Unless, maybe, they threw them at each other.

What happened?

Yeah. What happened?

They got in this huge fight,

and it made me wonder if that's how Brandon and I

are going to be 30 years from now.

Whatever the future holds, you can't just avoid it.

You're gonna have to come face-to-face with the hard things

and then, somehow, deal with them. Together.

I guess that's true.

- Here you go. - Thanks.

That was some really good advice.

The kind my mom would have given.

All I'm doing is keeping the customers happy.

You're actually doing a lot more than that.

- Hey. - Hello.

Thank you for the casserole.

- I'm glad you enjoyed it. - Ooh, what are you making?

- Chicken Alfredo. - I found out from Liam

that it's one of Sam's favorites.

- Yeah! - Yum.

Oh, how was dinner with Martha and Tom?

Oh, well, let's see. Do you want to hear about the part

before they started yelling at each other, or after?

They had a disagreement in front of you?

Oh, yeah. Which is going to make it very weird

the next time we see them, so I hope we never do.

You can't just avoid whatever the future holds.

You have to face it, eventually.

- And them. - I guess that's true.

I have to go get some tomatoes in the back.

You mind putting that back in the cupboard?

- No problem. - Okay.

Anybody home?

Hey.

- Oh, hi. - You're pretty good.

Oh. I know a few chords.

I taught myself when I was fourteen.

I thought it would be a good way to meet girls.

And then I discovered they were just interested in the drummer.

In my band, it was the bassist who got all of the attention.

I even tried to teach a few,

but I guess I never had the right student.

Takes a lot of patience, which I do not have.

Cassie's just making dinner.

Looks like you're having chicken Alfredo.

Ah. My favorite.

I think we made the right decision staying

in a couple of rooms here. The meals are a whole lot better

- than they are next door. - Sometimes I just show up

around dinner time and act like that's not the reason I'm here.

He's not a very good actor!

So has Noah been filling you in

on his and Nick's adventures when they lived in New York?

You know, no one's actually told me anything about that.

They got to be really good friends.

There were some other friends, too...

Yeah. Dad didn't like the people I started

- hanging out with. - But I liked Noah!

That's one of the reasons I'm glad that you're here.

Yeah, because he's never done anything wrong.

He's a good kid, I know that.

Well, then you need to get to know him better.

Yeah, I was trying to get Nick to tell me more about that.

Actually, I didn't tell you anything.

Was it about what happened at the beach house?

What happened at the beach house? What beach house?

Nick and some guys

broke in and trashed a place on Long Island.

That was right before you moved to Middleton.

I needed to get him away from all that.

And then, look, it all shows up right here.

What are you talking about?

You didn't even tell your dad?

I tried to, a couple of times, but...

Tell me what?

The beach house...

where Nick got caught?

It was my idea we bust into it.

- What? - Is that true?

I wouldn't have even been there if it weren't for him.

But he ran off when the cops came

- and left us all to get caught. - I thought you were behind me.

If you would have turned around and looked,

you would have seen that I wasn't.

Noah. You've never done anything like that before.

Well, he did the one time.

And three weeks later my dad moves us here because of you.

There were a lot of reasons we moved here.

Well, that was the one that counted.

Uh... Grace, you wanna help me clear the table?

- Let me. - Yeah.

That way, I can clean up after Noah even more.

Here you go.

- Everything looked perfect. - Perfect?

Everything that matters.

This really is one of the best run restaurants in town.

I like to find things that really aren't a problem

to see how the owner responds to the curve balls.

But you really stood up to me,

showing you really knew your stuff.

- Thanks. - I'll see you tomorrow, then.

- For another inspection? - No, I'm bringing

some friends here for lunch. The food looks fantastic.

I'll make you something special.

I thought you might like to know your chocolates

- are working again. - What do you mean?

Well, I was so nervous when I found out I was being

inspected again, but I took a moment, I ate a chocolate

and I decided to stay strong like you told me.

And things turned out even better than you said they would.

So... I helped you?

Yeah, I guess you did.

Anyway, now you have a customer for life!

Oh, Abigail,

I'm glad you're here. My mother-in-law

got in last night and I left her a little something

I bought at your store but she called this morning

and left me a message about...

Could you just listen to it, and maybe tell me what to say?

It's only a few minutes long.

Oh, a few minutes? I really have to get to my store.

Okay. Then I'll stop by

later this morning and play it for you then.

If there aren't too many other people

trying to get your attention.

Hey, do you wanna go to the Bistro after school?

Yeah, I need to study anyway, so...

- And I need a coffee break. - Hey.

Hey.

Uh, how far is school? My dad signed me up to start on Monday,

and I want to pick up my books before the first day.

Then maybe I can transfer before then.

- Nick... - Listen, Nick...

- I'll see you at school. - Sure.

Yeah, he's gonna need some time

getting used to you being here.

- I get it. - I'm not sure

- I'd forgive me if I was him. - Yeah, why did you

just leave him like that at the beach house?

I don't know.

I'd never done anything like that before, or since.

And my dad's so mad at me, I... He probably won't let me

out of the house again to give me the chance.

Yeah, I heard him kind of yelling at you last night.

He found us a place to live,

so things should be getting quieter for you pretty soon.

You know, I'm not sure Nick's mad at you so much...

- He should be. - No, I think

he's just jealous, in that you got

to stay in New York and he had to move here.

Doesn't he like it here?

Yeah, mostly...

But he had to leave all of his friends

and move away from his mom. It's hard.

I should be the jealous one.

Jealous of Nick? Why?

Because he gets to live next door to you.

Oh...

- Uh... go, go, go, go, go! - What?

- It's Martha and Tom. - They're coming this way.

- Did they see you? - I don't think so.

Ugh, we never should have gone to their house for dinner.

- It was your idea. - But you wanted to...

- Wait. Right. - We're not fighting.

Cassie said we can't just avoid things...

And Abigail talked about facing things, together.

So if we have to, we'll just...

- Look, Tom! - It's our favorite young couple!

- Hi! - Hello, Martha. Tom.

I'm so glad we ran into you.

I wanted to thank you

for coming over the other night. We had a wonderful time.

Oh, well...

It didn't seem like things were wonderful.

It seemed like you were really mad.

Well, of course we were mad.

Martha was really mad.

But that was just a little tiff,

compared to some of the doozies that we've had.

Which we worked through, as we always do, eventually.

Martha and I have a word for couples that don't fight:

Divorced.

But couples who communicate and work things through,

well they're the ones that make it long enough

to get that silver platter.

- The one I shouldn't have sold. - Oh, we can always get another!

Well, that's great to hear. Thanks.

Yeah. And thanks for dinner.

Oh, we'll have to do it again some time.

We'll make sure it's a night when we are getting along.

Ta-ta!

Sam, if I had known

Noah had been at the beach house that night, I would have...

What? Been as angry at your son as I was at mine?

Yeah. except it was my son's fault.

Look, Nick was old enough to make his own choices.

I don't blame Noah. I don't blame you.

Thanks. Am I supposed to believe Noah now, when he says

this was the only time he did something like that?

I think. Maybe.

I got pretty good at telling if Nick was lying.

I didn't see anything to tell me Noah was.

So I'm getting parenting tips from you now?

Yeah, to go along with that better jump shot I taught you!

- I appreciate you doing both. - Let's see

- if I can beat you again. - Oh, that's not happening.

I've seen you shoot; I think I have a pretty good chance.

Hi. Can I help you with anything?

Yes! I was wondering if you have any more of the special chocolates

that I've heard everybody talking about?

I don't. I have regular chocolates,

but nothing that's going to solve your problems,

or make you feel better about yourself.

Oh. Well, my sister told me

that you gave her some excellent advice and...

Sorry, we're all out of that, too.

I guess I'll have

to just go to the shop down the street, then.

The one with the soothing candles?

I'm sure they have exactly what you need there.

Hm!

We don't seem to be selling many chocolates today.

Yeah... I've decided to stop using my "flair," which means...

I won't be needing an extra salesgirl, either.

It's okay. This was fun while it lasted,

but I'd like a job

where I have more time to talk with the customers.

So, that's a difference between you and me.

Oh, Mom. I was just about to call you and ask you for a ride.

Oh, well I had a feeling you might be getting off early.

I told Grace since I'm not selling

anything special anymore, I could handle things by myself.

Well, you're the one the customers have been coming here to see, anyway.

Ugh, I know. And I had to talk to each and every one of them.

But you really helped Stephanie.

- And Tara. - From what I hear,

the kind of advice that came with every box

was pretty powerful.

- Maybe so. - But it was exhausting.

I don't know how anybody does it, caring so much

about people's problems and listening to everything they have to say.

Well, I know one person who does it.

Hey mom, when we go home,

can we finally take that stuff over to the band room at school?

They can stay where they are for one more night.

Hello?

Hm...

Oh. Hey.

Hey. That was nice.

Yeah, that's a fun song.

You know, I've always wanted to learn to play the guitar.

Would you teach me?

I'd love to. Sit down.

Okay.

Alright.

Okay. Put your index finger right there.

Okay.

And your middle finger on the top one.

Now your ring finger on the bottom.

- Okay. - And then hit all the strings.

There ya go. You're making music.
