[ Cheers and applause ]

This is it.

Welcome to our first-ever cut week.

Keep it going to your coaches.

There's Kelly Clarkson, Riley Green,

the one and only Queen Latifah, and the OG Adam Levine.

Well, hi, everybody. I'm Carson Daly.

Here's the deal. You asked, and we listened.

The live shows are back,

and they are back in a big, big way.

For the first time in years,

we're bringing you six weeks of live competition.

That all gets kicked off next Monday,

but we've got one final hurdle

that's going to stand in the artists' way.

And that's cut week.

After tonight, more than half of our artists

are going to see their journeys come to an end.

We've never faced an elimination this big before.

Let me explain how it's going to work.

Our coaches each picked two of their artists

to directly move on to the live shows.

Their remaining artists will all sing tonight,

hoping to earn that last spot

to represent their teams in the live shows.

But that's not all.

At the very end of the show tonight,

we're going to open up voting for the first time this season,

and you at home will vote

and send one of tonight's remaining artists

to fill that final spot in our top 13.

It's a packed night. We've got 20 performances.

No time to waste. Let's start with Team Queen.

Before we get to the music,

let's take a look at the really tough decision

that Coach Queen Latifah had to make

before this crucial week of competition.

As you know, this season, our live shows are back.

That has now created what we call cut week,

which is rough because we've never cut

this many artists at once.

That means you've got some big, big decisions to make,

and we're going to do them right here, right now

if you're ready. I'm gonna have to.

All right. It's -- It's inevitable.

Let's bring out the crew.

Look at my team. Hi.

Lillie: There's never been a cut week on "The Voice" before,

so there's a lot of pressure and anxiety around it.

I'm getting a little antsy.

Hey.

Team Queen going into lives,

I'm looking for three strong singers who are unique

and who are going to say, "I'm a star."

Daly: There's seven of you.

Unfortunately, Queen can only bring three of you

into the live shows.

-Oh, boy. -So dramatic. -Oh, man.

Those three lights symbolize the three artists

that will be moving on to the live shows.

Your coach is going to pick two artists right here,

right now to occupy those first two spaces.

You'll go right to the lives

and do not have to perform this week.

That means the rest of you will perform during cut week.

And then based on those performances,

your coach has got to pick just one more of you

to take that final spot.

Chari: She's about to announce the first name,

and the nerves are kicking in.

For me, this is team Queen,

so it always has to be ladies first.

And so I'm gonna go with my girl from New Jersey.

Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Mia.

It's such a big moment.

I mean, from the get go, she had so much faith in me.

She pressed the First In button.

And I'm really fortunate for that and for her.

I can't believe I'm going to the lives.

I mean, it's -- it's really a dream come true.

Oh, my gosh.

There was no choice.

There's never been a choice from the very beginning.

Mia is 16, but she sounds like she's been here before,

so I just got to give it to her.

I feel utmost confidence.

That's a dream pick for a coach. You knew right away.

Yeah. Mia!

All right, so tell me a little bit

about this next artist.

The next artist,

he doesn't want to be put in a box.

And I can see that he has a lot under the cap.

And we have to see what he has to give.

The next artist will be...

♪♪

BigCountry.

BigCountry.

This means everything.

Like, to show my kid, my wife that, man,

shoot for your dreams, man.

Hey, yo!

Oh, my God.

Of course, that means the rest of you

will be performing for cut week.

After that, Queen's going to decide

who's going to take that final spot.

You got to go for this.

I hate to do this,

but this is how I feel when I say that.

You're firing me up right now. Yeah!

I'm giving you this talk

because guess what's going to happen on those other teams?

What? They coming for your throat.

So I need y'all to elevate

because once we get past this moment, then it's everyone else.

And they've all earned a place here.

Destinee: Only one of us making it in that spot

is going to be a fight.

I wish you all the best.

I can't wait to see y'all do this.

Yeah!

To be first, ah! I got to set the tone.

Daly: All right, so one spot remains on Team Queen.

We'll start now with the R&B singer

from Baton Rouge singing "Use Me."

Give it up for Bryan Jaymes.
