I am a huge fan of naked and afraid.

Definitely looking forward to it

Sabrina eats a parrot head.

Not something that I would personally do.

But I'm leaving my family for a goal for me.

I'm hoping for a vacation from the everyday mundane.

Makes me nervous to be around him because he seemed so angry.

We also need water, right?

I'll do water. I know where the gypsy well is.

I actually...

feel like I want to cry.

He's, like, slamming stuff.

[Bird cawing]

I want to just say I'm sorry.

We're sleep-deprived and hungry.

When you've just sharted... Who would think natural in that situation?

I thought you were being disrespectful to me.

You felt disrespected by me?

If that be the case, I am genuinely sorry.

I understand your embarrassment and at the time

I was trying my best to hold my composure,

but when you threw it back in my face

and tried to make me look like I was the idiot,

I have no Patience for that, and honestly...

We're officially an old married couple.

You take this marriage thing to a crazy degree.

I've been married for eight years.

- That's the only way I know to survive. - [Laughs]

Teamwork.

I appreciate it and it's all forgiven.

That could have ended both of our challenges very quickly.

But we made our apologies,

believe that both of us were heartfelt in those apologies,

and we're able to move forward with it.

[Utensils clanking]

We just tried our first gypsy-hole pot of water.

Seems to be doing real well.

Why do we have to have a gypsy hole?

- Uh... - ♪ Defecation, no breathing ♪ -[Chuckles softly]

[Ashley] Because Ashley is a dummy.

I've just been dreaming about that fish meat.

I want, like, 20 fishies right now.

We have a major protein source of fish

and our plan is to go catch two fish a day,

hopefully to get us through to extraction.

I need nutrition, just finding words...

Everything's slowing down a little.

Every other thought is about food.

I just want to go lay down and not move.

My body is trying to push me to go get food.

What?

Dead fish.

What could have done that?

One, two, three, four, five.

I'm super nervous about Matt saying it was my poop.

[Sighs]

I have to go sit down 'cause I'm gonna pass out.

I don't have any energy.

How's the fire, partner?

Oh, my gosh!

- I'm gonna cry. - Why?

There's six floating dead fish in the water.

I guess it's a good thing we didn't drink that water.

I wanted to eat today.

Yeah, I was looking forward to it too.

Gotta think that her doing what she did

killed those fish...

probably.

But, grand scheme of things, she is a good partner for what she brings to the table,

and maintaining a positive outlook,

and she helps me, I help her.

So I'm going to focus on trying to get some protein in us

and get us through to extraction.

[Groans] We're gonna get something in the trap.

I sure hope so.

Lord, I would love... Love to have... Squirrel.

Something to carry us through.

Nothing appears to be disturbed, so...

Another hungry day.

Haven't eaten in four days.

My body is exhausted

but I'm gonna conserve every bit of energy I have

and try to help by making shoes.

We have to have shoes for extraction.

There's no other option.

And I'm going on day 14.

- Any action? - Nope.

- Not even a nibble? - Nope.

It's day 11. We need food.

I know I can capture small animals.

I know I can hunt, I know I can stalk prey.

Big old fat squirrel. I'd like to eat him.

[Whispers] Damn it!

[Sighs]

All right, you little bastard. I hear you laughing at me.

[Ashley] Even pregnant, giving birth,

I've never felt my body feel like this.

So I'm going to conserve every bit of energy I have

for the extraction hike.

I've been pushing pretty hard...

the last week.

The level of fatigue that I have right now

is unparalleled to anything in the past.

I've consumed less than 1,000 calories.

It's taxing on the body.

The prickly-pear cactus is something

I was really expecting to find in large abundance.

Thus far on our two-week challenge,

I haven't seen any, so...

I'd like to look for some prickly pear.

My body...

is starting to say...

"Stop treating me like [bleep]."

For being a fan with minimal survival skills,

what I knew was true in the beginning

was that my mental game is strong,

but my body is shutting down.

Oh, my... [Groans]

We've done some weird cuddle positions just to keep warm.

[Ashley] Here's the newest one.

I got a foot.

During the night, me and Matt joked that

we could have a Kama Sutra book

because we have hundreds of different positions we tried.

- Is that too much? - This is great.

No holds barred. It's just a free-for-all.

This is crazy. I'll just touch your butt.

I just don't care.

- [Ashley yelps] - [Matt] Sorry, sorry.

I can't handle much more. [Groans]

[Bleep]

[Matt] I'm truly hoping for, honestly, anything.

You know, when you're so hungry, everything is difficult.

But uh, we need the calories.

Ha! Prickly pear.

Absolutely awesome.

That's a happy day right there.

[Sighs] Yes!

It is a slow, delicate, and often... ow!

Painful process.

[Narrator] The pads of the prickly-pear cactus

are rich in vitamins and can be eaten raw or cooked.

[Matt] This is a win we needed.

Let's see about heading back to my partner,

getting some of this in our stomachs.

[Sighs]

Prickly pear!

Ohhh! You're my favorite.

We're eating like kings tonight.

My partner comes up with prickly pear

and I'm so grateful.

This is awesome. Thank you so much.

Absolutely. Let's cook 'em up.

[Ashley] Do you open it up and eat the middle?

Kinda tastes like snot.

But I know there's nutrients in it

so we can't be picky right now.

- Not at all. - Yeah.

Very grateful for the win today.

[Ashley] Super, super grateful for it.

[Sing-song] It's extraction day.

So excited.

[Ashley] Got new shoes made that are really good.

My body feels frail

but I'm hoping the adrenaline keeps my eye on the prize.

Check out the map. Here's where we are.

We come up, hopefully skirt the Ridge before noon.

So, in the heat of today, hopefully we won't be blistered in the sun.

[Narrator] To reach their extraction point,

Ashley and Matt face a brutal 2000ft climb

through deadly black-tailed rattlesnake territory,

followed by a two-mile descent along a jagged ridgeline

in the domain of large 180-pound mountain lions.

[Matt] Oh, the sun's starting to hit the Ridge.

Here we go, tail lights, let's do this.

Could you imagine trying to do this without shoes?

[Ashley] We'd be toast.

I just don't wanna see a snake head.

- Wait for me. - [Matt] Okay.

[Sighs] The extraction's uphill, rocky.

If this is the beginning, this is going to be really tough.

[Matt] Climbing this mountain is like climbing an ice hill.

The rocks keep sliding out from under you.

[Ashley] Damn! That was, like, a nerve!

This is difficult, extremely difficult.

[Ashley] This is never-ending.

[Matt] Oh, careful, careful, careful.

Concerned about my partner. Worried she's fading on me.

She seems to be falling down a lot.

- Oh! Easy. Are you all right? - Ow!

-Ashley, come on. You got this. -All right. Let's go.

[Matt] Skirting this sage.

[Ashley] Man! It is up and down and up and down.

[Mountain lion growls]

[Sighs]

[Matt] How you doing back there, partner?

[Ashley sighs] I feel like I'm gonna pass out.

I'm just living in the...

"Seeing my kids" moment to help me get through this.

Come on, Ashley. Let's finish this strong.

We got this, come on.

[Ashley] My mouth is like cotton.

- [Matt] You need some water? - No, I just want to keep going.

Just wanna [bleep] get there.

[Groans]

- [Matt] See the road. - No way.

- Yeah! - Whoo!

[Both cheer]

Yeah!

Whoo! Get in this thing.

- Heck, yes. - [Matt exclaims]

[Both cheer]

First Arkansan to complete the challenge.

- Oh, I'm so happy. - Oh, we made it.

[Ashley] This challenge was not the vacation that I thought it would be.

This was way harder.

Being a fan, I've seen people with way more skills than me

not complete this, and so I'm feeling pretty badass.

We did it!

[Narrator] During this 14-day fan challenge

Ashley lost 13 pounds.

Her PSR increases to a 5.5.

Yeah!

[Matt] 14-day challenge has taught me a lot.

Patience is a lesson that I'm taking away from this, for sure.

I'll always be able to pull from

some of the bad times out here

and clear my head before I react.

[Narrator] Matt lost 14 pounds.

His PSR rises to a 6.1.

- I hope my family's proud. - Don't get me started.

I chose to take this on because

I was looking for a challenge that reminded me

that I'm not just a mom, but my biggest takeaway is

my family is actually my biggest adventure

and I don't need to get away.

I just want to go see 'em right now.

It's all I want to do, is be a mom.

Hop out here and do another seven days?

- [Bleep] Off. - [Matt laughs]

[Ashley] Now feed me!
