PHIL KEOGHAN: Previously onThe Amazing Race...

On the starting line in Vancouver...

Welcome, everybody.

-[cheering] -...13 new teams

got a game-changing surprise.

-Express Pass! -Express Pass! -Express Pass!

[gasping, laughter]

KEOGHAN: For the first time, there's going to be

13 Express Passes in play at one time.

Arriving at the Roadblock in 12th place...

I think we should use the Express Pass.

...married couple Erin and Javi became

the first team to play their Express Pass...

-Thank you so much. -MAN: There you go.

...catapulting them into first place.

[both whooping]

The women of the race took notice of each other.

There are some, like, boss women.

JENN: Yeah, girl power!

ANN-MARIE: Let's just have a female team cross that line.

All girls, let's go.

KEOGHAN: Daisha and Dalton

and Zach and Nate missed their opportunities

to use their Express Passes...

-Well, Erin and them used the Express Pass. -Oh, they did?

Has anybody used the Express Pass on this?

They have.

...and battled each other on the water...

DALTON: I'm not letting these people beat me.

[groans]

KEOGHAN: ...ending in elimination

for brothers Zach and Nate.

You have been eliminated.

-All right, no worries, Phil. -Thank you.

Appreciate it.

KEOGHAN: 12 teams remain.

With nine Express Passes still in play,

-who will be eliminated next? -[shouts]

Hold on to your butts.

ERIN: Let's see where we're going.

[gasps] Oh, my God, okay.

"Fly to Madrid, Spain." Ready, let's go, let's go.

JAVI: We used the Express Pass in the last leg.

It wasn't something we foresaw,

but I was really proud of us because I think it showed, like,

we trust each other enough to make a snap decision

and just stand by that.

No, we don't need to run.

It feels amazing, it feels amazing.

Enjoy the amazing feeling.

I feel pretty good, I feel

happy and in love and happy to be in Canada.

[chuckles]: Yeah.

We are off

to get our tickets to...

-To go to Madrid, Spain. -...to Madrid.

-Let's go. -I'm so excited.

-Ah... -Oh, let's go.

-Spain, here we come, dude. -Let's go, baby.

-Vamos. -Come on.

CONNER: Let's do it.

Last time we were in Madrid,

it was like on a train layover

to go to Pamplona to run with the bulls,

and we got a beer and missed our train

and therefore missed our hostel in Pamplona

and had to sleep in the park,

so it was a bit of a fiasco,

but hopefully this time it's a little better.

We have a lot of time traveling together.

CONNER: We like seeing new things, we don't like plans.

He's the only guy I know that would go on a trip cross-country

with me on three days' notice.

He's kind of like the ride-or-die dude

and the dude who I want on my side

-forever and ever. -Yep.

-Thank you, man... Yeah, yeah. -No, thank you, dude.

We have so much extra Canadian bucks.

We're probably gonna get a beer later today.

-If you can wait here for us, that would be great. -DRIVER: Yeah.

ERIN: Silkway Travel.

We need to get

to Madrid, Spain on whatever's

-the earliest arrival time. -JAVI: Arrival time.

-All right, um... -I guess we'll do that one.

KEOGHAN: All teams have booked the same flight

connecting through Paris to Madrid.

The great equalizer.

I think we should talk to Joanna and Ali.

They're a very strong team.

We're going to partner with them.

There's a lot of female teams.

A lot of strong female teams,

-which we love to see. -Yes.

I think we're all going to be on the same flight.

We'll all be together.

People tell little girls all the time,

"You're so pretty," and what I would say back is,

"It's great to be pretty."

-Yeah. -"It's more important to be smart."

In my career I landed

with a great company in the medical field.

I'm now a vice president.

Quite often I was the first woman in the room

or the only woman in the room for most of my career.

RILEY: I realized what an incredible woman she is.

Like, she's just someone I look up to so much.

Yeah, but now she's a standard for women.

RILEY: I was a Division I softball player,

graduated magna cum laude,

and joined the Marine Corps.

I was able to deploy to Baghdad, Iraq and lead operations,

and from then I found the sport of bobsled.

I've competed in two world championships,

representing Team USA and the Marine Corps.

ANN-MARIE: I couldn't be more proud of her,

-of all the things she's done. -Likewise.

We were waiting on you guys.

-We like this boss lady kind of, like, vibe. -Period.

-Girl squads. -RILEY: We'd love to, like, obviously work with you guys.

-Like, you have such a strong, like, dynamic. -Mm-hmm, I know.

And, like, all of you guys, I'm like, let's freaking go.

-Yeah. -We're gonna make mistakes,

but I think there's strength in numbers.

We'll definitely pull in Jenn and Jody.

-They're obviously awesome. -Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

There is something about the spirit of,

like, women that aren't wanting to backstab and be mean and rude

but just like come together and be like, "Heck yeah,

you're a boss lady, you're a boss lady. Like, let's get it."

Let's bring it in, let's bring it in. "Boss lady" on three.

-I love it. -One, two.

ALL: Boss lady!

JOANNA: Let's go.

There has not been an all-female team

to win since season 25.

America is ready for two women to win season 39.

The drought, the girl drought is over.

CODY AND JAIME: We're going to Madrid!

Oh, God, that's so much lower than expected.

-We're off to Madrid. -Off to Madrid.

[both speak Spanish]

-We're ready to go. -Yeah.

MATT: All teams are going to start

at the same time, same position once we get into Madrid.

Let's do it.

Team One through Team 12--

we're a big, happy family right now.

We don't need to do that.

It's gonna be a total shakedown.

-We'll see how it runs. -Yeah.

-Madrid, here we come. -Let's do it.

JOANNA: When we land in Madrid, it's going to get cray.

It's going to get cray and wild

'cause we're all gonna be running for our lives.

KEOGHAN: The sun shines here in Madrid up to 96% of the time,

making it the sunniest city in all of Europe.

It's here in this 1,000-year-old city

that teams will take part in an Amazing Raceclassic

that's guaranteed to get messy.

When they land, teams will make their way

to the metro station located inside the airport

and find the train to Plaza de Toros de Batán,

where they'll find their next clue.

-Oh, the train. -Here, here, here, here.

-Let's go. -Let's go get it.

-Right here, right here, right here, right here. -[laughing]: Sorry.

-Sorry. -Excuse me, excuse me, excuse me.

-Oh! -Careful, guys.

Keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going.

You got it, G, you got it, G.

Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go.

-Pop, you with me? -Come on, Jo,

-Jo, Jo, Jo, Jo. -Yeah, yeah, yeah.

-Daisha, Daisha, Daisha. -Yeah.

-Let's get it. -Go straight through, straight through.

JOANNA: Good job, Ali.

Two-- we need two tickets.

AUTOMATED VOICE: Retire su tarjeta de crédito.

-DALTON: Destination. -MICHELLE: We are buying

tickets to get to the Batán metro stop to get

-to our next clue. -KATIE: One journey?

-CHARLOTTE: Do ten journeys. Go down. -Ten journeys.

Language. Okay. Purchase a card.

Let's go. Yep.

I grew up in Queens, I went to high school in Manhattan,

so I had to take the train each way every day.

That's priceless experience,

and it helped.

Great job, though.

ANDREA: We're good, we're good. Let's go.

Let's go.

Take both. This way, this way.

It's only-- All right, let's go.

ANDREA: Dad, tap it.

-There you go, here. -Come on.

-Got it? -Yeah.

Let's go, let's go.

Go, go, go, go, go.

JENN: Operation canceled.

JODY: Nothing came out. We got to start over.

-Let's ride, let's ride. -Holy cow.

DALTON: Go, go, go, go, go.

Shoot, they're all leaving, Pop.

Don't panic. We'll do as best we can.

What?

Hey, baby, metro card is right here.

Copy.

Is everyone on the same one?

-We gotta go, we gotta go. -We gotta go.

-All right, let's go. -Good job, good job.

Okay.

Oh, my God. [chuckles]: Oh, my God.

-ERIN: Go, go, go, go, go, go. -DYLAN: Pop, run.

ERIN: Go, go, go, go, go, Javi, go, go.

-Go, go, go, go! -DOUG: Dylan, hold the door.

DYLAN: Run it, run it, run it.

-All right, let's... -You got two of them?

Okay, yeah, yeah, two receipts.

-JAIME: Come on, Code, get on it! -CODY: Oh, come on.

JENN: Hold, hold it, hold it.

-Oh, they made it. -Oh, they made it.

-No way. -Dang.

All right, let's go, baby.

I see every single team, so...

ERIN: I think we're all on an equal playing field.

ANUAR: The whole pack is together now.

We're all together.

-This feels like The Amazing Race. -Yeah.

♪ ♪

So, we're going to Batán.

DAISHA: Plaza de Toros de Batán is near the metro stop.

We're going to a bull ring right now.

-We're right here. -DOUG: Yeah.

So it's one, two, three, four, five, and the sixth...

It'll be a footrace to get

-to the bull ring. -Time to go.

Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go.

-There's other teams. -Yes, this way, it's this way.

-I'm following you. -Is this the front?

-Let's go. -Yeehaw. -Okay, everybody caught up.

-Take a left. -That way.

-Everyone's going that way. -It's this way.

This is it-- Venta del Batán.

Okay, so we're right here.

Dad, slow down. Dad!

-There's the clue box. -Clue box is straight ahead.

Plaza de Toros, perfect.

-I am. -You are.

-You do it. -Me.

-Conner's doing it. -Boom, feeling saucy.

There are some Amazing Racechallenges

that are so good, they just have to be repeated,

and this is one of them.

La Tomatina.

We're never gonna find it.

Damn it!

I want to go!

KEOGHAN: Regarded as the largest food fight in the world,

where tens of thousands of people gather every year

to pelt each other with juicy, ripe tomatoes.

This Roadblock gives teams a chance to catch up

when they take part in a Spanish Switchback...

Let's do it.

...searching for a clue

in this massive pile of ripe tomatoes.

-Let's go. -Oh, crap, they're throwing at us.

-Aah! -You got this, baby!

Finding the clue will be hard enough,

but getting pelted by this team of enthusiastic locals

at the same time could cause some La Tomatina trauma.

DYLAN: Ow.

-ANN-MARIE: Go, Riley! -JAVI: Oh, there we go!

There's a clue inside this?

DAFINA: Keep those eyes peeled, G!

Anyone see anything yet?

It's a needle in a haystack, guys.

Come on. Dang, somebody hit me in the head!

Come on, come on.

They're just pelting us at this point.

JODY: It is not nice to be throwing tomatoes at somebody's mom!

It's inside the tomatoes.

I'm feeling saucy, baby!

ANN-MARIE: Let's go, Riley!

Come on, Dylan, you can do it!

Ow.

Is smashing 'em on the ground faster?

No, not faster.

Come on, baby, where are you?

Let's go, Matt, move it!

He's eating them, he's literally eating them.

MATT: The tomatoes were rock-hard.

What am I going to do?

I don't have cutlery.

I'm... I'm going to bite them.

Matt, you've got to focus!

I wanted you

to, like, get in there and just, like,

mush up all-- as many tomatoes as you could.

I don't know what he's doing.

You looked like you were at the grocery store, like,

picking it out for, like, your garden salad.

So not his challenge to do.

Matt can't find, like, where his socks are in our house.

Why can't I throw tomatoes?

Are y'all having fun yet?

Are you all having fun yet?

This is pretty friggin' crazy!

Ali didn't answer.

Erin did.

If I can do the needle in the haystack, we can win the race.

A couple teams have left, so I would like

to have been one of those teams.

CODY: I thought about the Express Pass

when all three or four of those teams got it,

but I can think about this more

or I can focus more on these tomatoes.

JAIME: What are all those push-ups for?!

-Let's go! -CODY: All right, woman.

It's getting stressful now that so many people are leaving.

ANDREA: We don't need to wait for them, let's go.

-ANUAR: Matt! -Dad!

-ANUAR: Andrea, come with me! -Stop!

Do not focus on other people, let's go!

-We got to go. -MATT: Calm down.

-ANUAR: Matt, Puerta del Sol, right? -Yeah.

Come on, let's go, why are you double-checking?

It's our game, not theirs.

ERIN: We're gonna get off here. Javi, you ready?

-Where are we going, Javi? -Okay, we need to go up and over.

ERIN: Oh, my God.

-We just lost a huge lead. -I know.

ERIN: So now we are hoping

to still be somewhat, maybe

-second or third. -Hopefully in the front, maybe.

-Hopefully in the front. -We'll find out in a second.

DAISHA: Don't give up, Dalton, you got it!

[grunting]

Oh, my God, this smells so bad.

My brother's probably going to smell better after this.

I mean, we only have up to go from.

Daish, can we use the Express Pass?

Whatever you want.

-DALTON: What do you think? -It could be the next one!

Yes! Check, check.

DOUG: Come on, bud.

CODY: Okay.

-Oh, this is the... -JAIME: Let's go!

DALTON: Express, Express.

-DAISHA: Are you sure? -Come on.

Just hoping for the best at this point.

Okay.

I can't see anything.

There's less of us for them to throw at now.

This sucks.

-CONNER [laughs]: Yeah. -GARRETT: Let's go.

-Check, check, check, check, check, check, check. -Let's go, Conner.

Okay, got something here.

We got here first and we were already...

-Okay, okay, okay, fine. -Express Pass.

Daisha and Dalton just used their Express Pass,

so the rest of us-- we're just stuck here.

I did not want Dalton to use the Express Pass this way.

Express Pass, please.

DAISHA: I wanted him to just keep looking,

try a little bit harder, not give up yet,

'cause we know it's out there somewhere.

-Let's go. -Let's go, Puerta del Sol.

-What do we need to do? -Make our way to Puerta del Sol.

DAISHA: I wish we had used it immediately, then.

Using the Express Pass and not getting first place--

-it's not smart. -I'm sorry.

DAISHA: Do you feel like you gave up a little early?

-Is that it? -Yeah, that's it.

This is it, yeah.

RILEY: Puerta del Sol, right there.

ANN-MARIE: This way.

No, that's not Sol.

That says "Sur," S-U-R.

Is Sol something different?

ANUAR: Okay. Come on.

RILEY: Puerta?

BOTH: Puerta del Sol?

Come here.

Smells like tomatoes in here.

CONNER: Oh, no.

Ah. Oh, man.

JODY: You know, with the needle in a haystack challenge,

the more needles that get taken, the harder it is

and the more desperate you become.

Yeah.

Ow.

Covered in tomatoes now. [laughs]

CODY: Ten, ten, yes.

Dude, that was so brutal just, like, not knowing

-if you're ever gonna find it or not. -Yeah.

Don't touch me.

'Cause, like, it was moldy, smelly, and, like, it was wet

and it was, like, genuinely like...

Wait, you're telling me not to touch you

because you're looking out for me for once?

-Not that I disgust you? -Okay.

As a brother-sister team,

we don't necessarily need to like each other.

We're gonna bicker all the way to the finish line.

But what we have that a lot of the teams don't have is purpose.

My mom has a disease that affects the ear,

the eyes, and the brain.

CODY: She's not able to get up, she's not able to move around a lot.

She's on the second floor of her condo right now,

so our goal is to get mama home.

JAIME: And that's our whole reason why we're doing this.

I am disgusting.

There's genuinely a cloud of people,

like, giving space right now.

That's just how absolutely disgusting I am.

JODY: Jenn, I'm really sorry that I'm not great at this.

You got this, Jody.

JODY: Oh, I got it!

Holy crap.

Sweet mercy.

KATIE [laughs]: This is so stressful now.

Puerta del Sol.

Let's go.

CHARLOTTE: How do you feel, Katie, you feel panicked?

KATIE: I'm a little concerned.

JENN: You did amazing.

I'm so proud of you.

Way to not give up.

JODY: It ain't over, come on.

This doesn't mean you're out, but I'll be honest--

I'm, like, shaking.

Oh, my God.

That's rude.

CHARLOTTE: You're good, Katie, just stay calm.

Are tomatoes good for skin care, Katie?

KATIE: I know, I was just wondering that.

I don't think moldy ones are.

A little rotten tomato mask. [laughs]

GROUP [chanting]: Katie. Katie. Katie.

Oh, my God, I got one, okay.

-[cheering] -CHARLOTTE: Let's go, come on.

You're the best.

Oh, my gosh, I've never been so stressed in my life.

Whoo!

-Ready? -Let's go. You're awesome.

KATIE: We need to go back to the metro.

-CHARLOTTE: We need to just not get frazzled. -Yeah.

CHARLOTTE: We're good.

Here's the metro entrance.

We're so good.

KATIE: We need to get on the same.

-We were on the light blue. -JODY: I want the door to close

so that the girls don't get on,

even though I really love the girls

and I want them to do well,

but I don't want them to be here with us.

I want a head start to whatever's next.

[panting]

-Plaza de España. -Plaza de España.

JODY: We're getting off at Plaza de España

and we're getting on the yellow line south.

We're gonna go up this way and then...

-Puerta de Sur? -Sol.

-Yeah, that's what we need. -De Sur?

-So it's this way. -Oh. Yes, okay, okay.

CHARLOTTE: Puerta de Sur, okay, okay.

KATIE: So we're headed to

Puerta del Sol, which is the last stop on the train

that we came here on, the metro that we came here on.

I'm covered in tomato all over my hair.

-I know, we'll get you... -Those people were rude.

I have bruise-- I'm going to have bruises.

Oh, they were throwing those things.

-And they were hard. -Excuse us.

We're in last, but we're not far behind.

-Yeah, it's okay. -We're so good.

Does anybody need to get off? 'Cause we're blocking the door.

No? Okay, good.

I think they can get off that side, I think.

Oh. [laughs]

-So... -Sorry.

I think other people might perceive us

as a lot more dainty and a lot more prissy

than we probably are.

We worked hard growing up and we weren't afraid to get dirty.

We grew up on a little farm.

CHARLOTTE: We always were like the manual labor on the farm,

throwing hay bales, cleaning stalls,

had to feed all the animals.

We were really athletic and competitive.

We do CrossFit and we run marathons together.

I run ultramarathons, so, 50 miles.

So we might, like, look cute like soft little city girls,

but we know how to do hard work.

Okay, once we get there, we need to figure out where we're going.

ALI: There it is, Puerta de Sol,

right there on the building.

Let's look for a clue box.

JOANNA: I think we're in first place.

ALI: In the last leg, we got tenth.

I don't know if we were, like,

that excited about it

because of course we want to be

in first place.

We are incredibly competitive.

That's being a professional athlete.

Oh, you want to come for us? You want a piece of us?

Like, let's go.

Bring it on.

-[softer]: Bring it on. -[laughs]

-Right there, I see it. -Come on, let's go.

[both panting]

-Detour. -Detour.

Okay. "Slice of Ham or Slice of History?"

Jamón is the national culinary treasure of Spain.

In this Detour, teams will pick up

a leg of jamón at Extrem Puro Extremadura

and carry it across the city to Perro Paco Restaurant.

After paying careful attention to the technique of Emilio,

a master carver, they must prepare 50 grams of ham

while their partner starts preparing a charcuterie board

to match a finished example.

Once Emilio confirms that the ham

and the charcuterie board have been prepared properly,

he'll hand them a clue.

This Detour requires teams to search

for 12 look-alikes of famous Spanish icons

scattered around this plaza.

After identifying a look-alike,

teams will be given information

about that person's achievements.

Salvador Dalí.

Once teams have met all the look-alikes,

they must make their way to this nearby game board

and then, relying only on memory,

match these names to the correct picture.

We're cutting the ham and-- the jamón--

and we're going to go now.

Let's go.

SARAN: Let's go, Dafina, it's got to be out here somewhere.

-Okay. There he is right there. -Oh, yeah.

Good job, huh?

Okay, thank you.

Okay, Detour.

"Slice of Ham or Slice of History?"

Let's do Slice of History.

-Okay, I agree. -Yeah, okay.

Ooh, we get to do it together, G.

Yay!

-It's our first one together. -I know.

We definitely feel like our relationship

will help us move up in the race because we support each other.

I came out when I was 21.

I talked to Saran about it,

and she was just like, "Okay."

-That's it? -"That's what you wanted to tell me?

-Like, what's the big deal?" -What's the big deal?

DAFINA: Her receptivity to it was so amazing.

Knowing that you have a person in this world

that has your back no matter what

gives you the confidence to do anything.

Our superpower is our sisterhood.

We were frantic on leg one.

Now we're focused and we're just moving

-with purpose. -Yeah.

ALI: This is it, no?

-JOANNA: Yes. -Yeah.

-Okay. Hi. -Hi.

Let's read the directions really well.

ALI: Yeah.

-SERVER: This is your ham. -JOANNA: Okay.

-Okay. -Okay. Great.

-Thank you. -[Joanna muttering]

We're looking for the Perro Paco Restaurant.

Just running with a ham.

Running with a ham.

JAVI: Babe, to the right, to the right.

ERIN: There it is, there it is.

Ali and Joanna just got here.

Hey, guys.

-JOANNA: Great job. -Great job, good job.

We saw Erin and Javi.

They must have turned around.

They finally got here.

-We're gonna do Slice of Ham. -We're gonna do Slice of Ham.

Okay, let's go, let's go.

-DALTON: Oh, this is beautiful. -DAISHA: Oh, wow.

Wait, wait-wait-wait.

I'm sorry, it's beautiful.

-DYLAN: Pop, this way. -DOUG: Okay.

-To the right, to the right. -It's right here, it's right here.

-MATT: I think it's probably under that statue. -MICHELLE: Yeah.

-Slice of Ham. -We're gonna do Slice of Ham.

-The ham? -Yeah, let's slice some ham.

-We're gonna do Slice of Ham. -Slice of Ham.

-Let's do the ham. -The ham?

-You sure? -Yeah.

Let's do the history.

-Let's do it. -Let's do it.

-Y'all, if we can knock this out together... -Yeah, we got it.

-...we can work together on this one. -Okay.

ANN-MARIE: We're all standing there, we decided to all work together.

RILEY: We thought being able to speak Spanish

would be an advantage that we didn't have

but some of the other teams possess.

ANN-MARIE: So, be opportunistic.

Who's there with you

at the time when you've got critical actions to take?

And we thought we could beat them, so we're like,

"All right, let's do it."

There's only six workstations.

I think we'll be okay.

Let's help each other.

We can all still be in this race

if we help each other and get it done.

Yeah. I agree, that's what it's about.

DYLAN: There are only six workstations.

We got to hustle.

MICHELLE: Museo del Prado.

-MATT: Yeah. -Museo del Prado.

JODY: Yeah.

-Oh, good, it's a packed train. -[laughs]

We've had a lot of highs and a lot of lows today.

I would have preferred a little consistently medium.

[laughs]: Yeah.

Jody and I are competitors.

JODY: We're Ivy League graduates.

We were Division I athletes.

We set high standards for ourselves

in everything that we do in our careers.

We are still looking for the Puerta de Sol.

JENN: I am a forensic scientist.

And I'm a high school history teacher.

I love teaching about the world.

Jody knows everything about everything.

-That's not true. -It's really impressive.

I know a lot of things about some things.

You know a lot of things about a lot of things.

-JODY: You're never going to see us throwing in the towel. -Yeah.

I am going to need a lot of things cleaned after this.

Okay, up the stairs,

across the big road, straight that way.

Okay, let's go.

-Exit. -Take the escalator, escalator.

Does it look like it's down there?

Wait, wait, wait, wait. Look at the sign.

It's Puerta de Sur. That's different.

Okay, I think we should ask.

Do you know how to get to the Plaza de Sol?

Yes.

To go here?

Okay, thank you.

CHARLOTTE: We went in the wrong direction. Big mistake on our part.

KATIE: So we got to get back on the one we were just on

and ride it to the other end.

CHARLOTTE: We're fighting to stay in this.

Let's go, let's go, let's go. Hurry up, we got it.

KATIE: Come on, come on, we got to make this.

Go, go, go, go. Hold the door, hold the door.

CHARLOTTE: You sure this is right?

KATIE: No, but...

I need to, like, calm down and not be frazzled.

I honestly feel, like, nauseous.

-KATIE: Okay. -CHARLOTTE: Oh, my gosh.

Are we here? Is there a second stop?

That's where we just left.

Two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.

Great, and then we have to get on a different train.

Navigating the metro was definitely challenging

-when you're stressed. -CHARLOTTE: It was crazy.

I would feel so insecure if I didn't have an Express Pass.

CHARLOTTE: This is gonna be a long ride.

KATIE: We went the wrong direction, like, six stops.

-Sur versus Sol. -Mm-hmm.

KATIE: So that was really a big waste of time.

Yeah.

Very easy to mix that up, though,

so maybe other people did, too.

JOANNA: Right here?

ALI: Yeah, Restaurant.

[both panting]

-Here. -There it is.

-We made it, great job. -Oh, my gosh.

-JOANNA: Workstation here. -ALI: Okay.

JOANNA: When we got there, the gentleman--

thecortador, I think it was called--

showed us how to cut the jamón in,

like, slices that were thin.

-Yeah. -Okay.

JOANNA: And then also there was all the cheeses and the grapes

set up for the charcuterie board.

Let's go, let's do it.

We had to cut 50 grams of jamón

and put together a charcuterie board

in the identical way that they had set it up in the example.

It's so nice because at home

I try my best to make charcuterie boards.

Maybe not sweating this much.

Just like cooking at home with my wife Melodie.

-[laughs] -By the way, today is

-our four-year wedding anniversary. -Oh, yeah.

JOANNA: This leg is dedicated to Luna and Melodie.

Happy anniversary.

JOANNA: Thank you.

-Do you see it? -Nope.

D, these are street signs.

-Let's go across. Let's go across. -Let's go across.

-Let's do it. -Dafina, this is the way.

Looks like it could be a museum.

-Okay, here we are, here are the individuals. -I see 'em.

When we think we know the names, we have to make our way

to the curator located on Plaza del Murillo.

This is the plaza to get the information.

We have to go someplace else

to deliver the information.

-Right. Hola. -Hello.

Don Quixote?

Don Quixote.

-Don Quixote... xote. -Yes.

Is there any other information you want to tell us?

-No. Okay. -Okay, muchas gracias.

"And melts clocks."

-Look at the clock. -Oh, yes.

-"The mother of the--" Okay. -Got it.

-Okay. -Love your makeup and your jewelry

-and the dress. Beautiful. -Yes, yes.

Gracias. Slay. Slay, Queen.

-Ooh. -Ooh. Congratulations.

-There were some people on this end that we didn't get to. -Okay.

Hello.

All right, let's go.

Oh, there she is, there she is.

Hello.

Okay.

Okay, gracias.

DAFINA: Oh, um,

-what did we...? -Oh, they didn't tell us their names.

I asked-- that's why I asked their name.

Oh, they got us, you know?

Ha ha ha, this is so interesting.

Oh, this is quite exciting.

We got a little lost, so we're going to go down here

and then make a cut down C. del Maestro Victoria.

DOUG: I'm very lucky to have a close relationship with my grandson.

We're the oldest and youngest team

to ever runThe Amazing Race.

DYLAN: I'm 18 years old.

DOUG: And I'm 72 years old.

I was in the room when he was born,

so I saw his first breath and been with him ever since.

DYLAN: Growing up, my parents

worked a lot, so I was at his house every single day.

We'd go surfing, we'd go biking, we'd go hiking.

DOUG: All his life, we would offer him,

"Do you want a birthday present or an adventure?"

And he always opted for an adventure,

so we were constantly doing things, from flying

in a 1927 biplane

to jumping out of a plane on his 18th birthday.

We've gone to 39 national parks together.

This guy does it all, and as a grandpa,

I mean, you can't have anyone better.

Can I have your pack? Can you run if I take your pack?

DOUG: No, I got it, let's go.

JOANNA: Bring it on, bring it on.

Oh, okay, got it.

Okay.

Oh, then I'll just keep cutting a bit more, then.

-Um... -Yeah, you're fine.

I just want to make this look pretty.

You're doing a great job.

This is how professionals work.

SARAN: We don't know their names.

When we started, we thought we were going

to put the pictures with their role.

Her husband was who?

SARAN: And then we saw

it was names,

so we have to figure out...

I think we should go back.

'Cause... we're wasting time doing this.

-Let's go out, Dafina. -Okay.

MATT: This way. Mich, I see them.

-MICHELLE: Okay. -Straight ahead.

MICHELLE: Oh, I love you.

-SARAN: Another team is here. -MATT: Okay.

MICHELLE: Let's do it. 12.

Hello, sir.

How are you? We're Michelle and Matt.

Striped shirt, paintbrushes.

I'm gonna say Pablo Picasso.

Hello, sir.

Ponce de León.

I paid attention in history class.

I love history. My dad-- he loves history,

and he kind of drilled all of that into me when I was young.

-La Pasionaria. -She's a strong woman.

MATT: Strong, strong.

I'm confident-- De Soto.

-We'll go with that. -Okay.

MATT AND MICHELLE: Catholic monarch of Spain.

Dalí.

MATT: Salvador Dalí. The painter of Las Meninas.

MICHELLE: Yeah.

MATT AND MICHELLE: Galician poet.

Okay, let's, let's get it right.

CODY: All right, we're gonna go

slice some ham and make a charcuterie board.

Um, I'm gonna go ahead and let you take point on this

'cause I'm disgusting, and I hope nobody eats this thing

'cause I shouldn't be handling any type of food.

CONNER: Let's see, let's see, let's see.

-Going ham. -We're gonna slice ham.

[chuckles]: Yeah.

DOUG: So what are we looking for?

DYLAN: Extrem Puro Extremadura.

And all the way down, I think.

This is too far, man, it was a five-minute walk.

-DOUG: Yeah. -We're lost.

Okay, no, hold on.

DYLAN: Pop, we're losing a lot of time, man.

ERIN: I think it's a little further down.

-JAVI: I wish you... -You can look.

You had every opportunity to look just as much as I did.

We have to go all the way down and then a right.

I'm not mad at you, by the way.

-You're doing good. -Okay.

You want me to carry your pack?

No, no, I'm good.

DYLAN: Just a little bummed.

DOUG: Hey, don't let that creep in.

DYLAN: I'm trying.

-Extrem Puro Extremadura. -Should be on the left.

-It's right here. -We have to go downstairs.

Let's help each other. Let's help each other.

ANUAR: We're together.

Okay.

Bro, we look crazy.

We need Paco Restaurant.

It's on a different street.

-It's Calle de San Agustín. -You want me to ask?

-Yes. -Yes.

ANDREA: We like working

with other teams, and I think it's worked

to our advantage.

And their advantage, too.

So, they're getting the directions right now, and then

we're gonna follow them. They speak Spanish, so that's

-really helping us out. -Right now we're working together.

-ERIN: Hey, guys. -In there, downstairs to the left.

Thank you so much. Okay, we're all caught up.

RILEY: When other teams get there right behind you,

I'm like, "Oh, great, must be nice.

"Like, you come in,

and we already have directions."

Perro Paco Restaurant, P-E-R-R-O.

RILEY: And it stinks because what takes us time

and is maybe less efficient for us

'cause we're actually the first ones to find it, other people

can just follow you.

-Which way? -Okay. Point just which way.

-That way. -Yeah.

CODY: Bro, where is this thing at?

There's a bunch of teams right here, though.

Hola, guapos.

DALTON: That's our directions.

Y'all follow me, y'all follow me, come on.

-Go, go, go, go, go. -Follow me.

CODY: Perfect, we love ham.

All right. I'm so hungry.

Perro Paco Restaurant.

Okay, mm...

-Which way are you feeling? -Yeah, let's keep going this way.

GARRETT: We've been to Madrid together before but only, like, once,

and it's not enough to remember it,

so it's definitely challenging to get around today.

-I think it's there, I think it's there. -You think it's down there?

GARRETT: You know, we're gonna try our best

to not worry about it too much.

Keep it mellow. [laughs, exclaims]

CHARLOTTE: Once we're off this thing, I'll be in such a better mood.

Think about how many teams think they're out and they're not.

-Like... -I know.

And there are so many teams racing today.

Like, there are so many chances to beat someone.

And I'm sorry to wish downfall on somebody else, but I hope

someone else got so lost.

Yeah.

Let's go this way.

-DOUG: Is this where you're turning? -Calle de...

That's not the way you told me.

DYLAN [sighs]: Shoot, man, we got to hustle.

Pop, where you at?

-Hold on. -I don't know, man.

-I'm stressing. -Hey, I don't see that here.

-We're really lost right now. -No.

None of these are it.

I think this is it for us.

Extrem Puro Extremadura.

DOUG: I don't think this is going to help you, Dylan.

-DYLAN: This is it. -This is it?

No, it's not.

We got quite lost on our way.

-It was pretty bad. -It was frustrating.

DYLAN: This might be it. Do you speak English?

-Yeah. -Thank you.

We're in a race right now.

-Okay. -And we're--

For a million dollars, so...

-For a million dollars? God, okay. -Yes.

Here's the address.

♪ Whistle while you work.♪

-50 grams, yeah? -EMILIO: Exactly.

-ALI: Okay. -JOANNA: That's a sexy slice of meat.

ALI: He's like, "I'll be the judge."

JOANNA: Yeah.

JODY: Oh, my God.

There's still another clue there, still.

-There's another clue? -Yeah.

"Slice of Ham or Slice of History?"

We are choosing Slice of History.

[echoes]: Hallelujah.

There was a history challenge.

Let's do it.

Jody has been hoping for this.

JODY: I'm a European history teacher.

Some of them I might know by looking at them.

There's going to be Isabella, Charles V, Cortés, Vas--

No, Vasco da Gama's Portuguese.

I just hope we don't need to really know their names.

What do you do?

I'm a painter who bends time

-and melts clocks. -MICHELLE: Okay.

Let's take a shot at it. We'll figure it out.

-MICHELLE: Yeah. -We'll be good.

Will you look up for us

-a famous... poet? -Galician poet.

-Yes, Ro-Rosalía de Castro. -Okay.

MATT: They got out way ahead of us-- the sisters.

And then one more-- the paint--

someone that painted and also melted clocks.

-Dalí, aha, oh. -Oh, you knew that one.

Stick around. We need your help.

DYLAN: Extrem Puro Extremadura.

Right there, right there.

Extrem Puro Extremadura, right here.

-DYLAN: Where? -Right here.

DYLAN: Oh, my God.

-Hello. -Hello.

GARRETT: Extrem-- it's right here.

-CONNER: This guy? -Yeah, this is it.

-CONNER: Hello. -Hello.

-Okay. -This is your ham. -Okay.

Hey, guys.

-Oh, my God, you guys are here, too? -What's up, guys?

-I thought we were so lost. -No, no, no.

Oh, my God!

This is-- ooh, this is wonderful.

-I'll carry it, dude. -You sure?

-Yeah. -It's a big guy.

-It's okay. -The big guy-- he's got it.

Do you guys know where the restaurant is?

-It's this way. -Can we follow you?

-Let's go, ham man. -The ham man.

-[Garrett exclaims] -[laughs, mutters]

Pop, can you keep up?

I'm trying.

Keep your eye on 'em.

I'm gonna lose 'em, Pop.

We're feeling good. I'm feeling a little bit stressed,

but honestly, I think we just have to wait

and see what it looks like at the next stop.

There might be an equalizer.

There might be teams that have no clue what they're doing.

-Yeah. -People might be lost going to a Detour.

Like, we really don't know, so I'm not panicking yet.

I'm just sick of being on this train.

I would rather be anywhere else but on this train right now.

DALTON: That's it, Perro Paco, right here, whoo!

That's it.

[Erin pants, mutters]

JAVI: Go, go, go.

-[Anuar sighing] -Come on, Dad, we got it.

We're almost there.

It's so nice to have a little peace and quiet.

-Hola. -Hola.

¿Cómo estás?

Welcome.

JOANNA: So many teams just got here.

Is there enough stations?

We still got stations.

Good job, baby.

Nice job, nice job.

That one looks good. That one looks good.

I can feel the grease on this thing.

This'll clog your arteries in a heartbeat.

Hey, we got it, we got it right here.

GARRETT: We found our spot, it looks like.

-CONNER: Yep, Perro Paco. -Ooh, thank God.

Okay, Dad, I'm gonna cut, you just organize.

ANUAR: I was born in Mexico, I grew up there.

In Mexico,

jamón serrano is very popular.

Giving jamón serrano as a gift was something super nice to do,

and if you wanted a piece, you need to cut your piece.

ANDREA: It's almost like turkey on Thanksgiving,

but it's a little bit more special, I'd say.

I literally cannot even pronounce

"charcuterie" properly,

and I actually don't even eat them

because I'm like, it's too much effort, clearly.

Let's find ourselves a table.

Plop that bad boy down.

Dad, please, no, don't look at theirs.

Stop.

Should we triple, quadruple-check everything?

It's got to be right here, okay?

I'm not going any farther until we figure this out.

CODY: You're not gonna have to. There we are.

So, I cannot express

how defeated I was when we walk in there and see

every single spot filled with people.

We have to wait for a spot to open up.

Okay.

[Matt exhales sharply]

-This one, please. -Thank you so much.

-You're welcome. -Okay.

All right, you got this. Easy.

-There's five here. -Right here, five?

There's five, right? And then there's one, two, three, four...

No, there should be six over here. Six, right.

Here's your girl. Six points.

We know Picasso.

This is Letizia.

Velázquez was the painter.

-Yep. -Isabella was the queen.

Get the monarch. That's Isabel.

-MICHELLE: Who's this guy? -That's, uh,

Diego Velázquez.

This is the guy that had that big, uh...

That's Hernán Cortés.

It's not De Soto, it's Cortés.

Okay, this guy is like a fraud because he wasn't there.

He's a fraud. Get-get him out of here.

Time. Who melts time?

Who melts time?

MATT: Dalí.

Ponce.

[sighs] We're close.

Three other women.

I remember that guy with that beard.

You're right, good call. Put him there.

-Are you sure? -100%. Yeah, good.

Good job, great job.

Now it's between these three.

-MICHELLE: Clara? -Put her there.

Put her there.

Let's take a shot.

This is a guess.

It's these three that I'm not sure about.

MICHELLE: Can we get a check?

-Can we get a check? -Can we get a check, please?

Are they already done?

-Thank you. -[laughs]

[laughs] You tricked us.

-Please, please, please, please, please. -Please.

-Yes. -Thank you,

thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.

Dalí...

Congratulations.

-Yes. -That's right.

-So good, you're so good. -Good job, good job.

-Very good. -Thank you so much.

-Well done. -Thank you, thank you. -Thank you. Great job.

If we win some money,

like, I have to give my dad a cut.

Route Info.

"Race to the Pit Stop."

KEOGHAN: Miguel de Cervantes is regarded

as the greatest writer in the Spanish language,

honored here at Plaza de España.

This expansive public square is now the Pit Stop

for this leg of the race.

The last team to check in here may be eliminated.

-Okay, back on the metro. -Back on the metro.

-Let's go. -Okay.

MICHELLE: Matt, yes!

You're so smart.

Let those people slice their ham.

Slice it.

There, that's beautiful. Now go up with it, up with it.

There, yes.

We can reorganize these cheeses in a sec.

I'm-I'm just doing the meat.

I have to cut.

Frick.

How many cheese?

ANDREA: Dad, I told you to count it!

Please count it.

Growing up, I didn't get to see my dad a lot, and so

I think we just don't know each other's weaknesses.

ANUAR: We're learning to communicate.

She has one way of doing things,

I have another way of doing things.

ANDREA: He likes to take things slow, process.

I like to just get things done quickly.

No, leave that.

And so it got really stressful in there.

It doesn't go there. Can you go look at the example, please?

Stop.

You don't want to...?

CODY: What?

JAIME: We are here for our mom,

and if we got eliminated,

that would be terrible.

I do not want to go home today.

Actually, Jaime, let's Express it.

Yeah, I say, if we can use it, we use it.

All right.

Uh, can we use our Express Pass?

Okay, perfect.

-Thank you. -Are they allowed to?

CODY: Andrea basically was like,

"Can they use that? Are you allowed to do that?"

Which rubbed us very much the wrong way.

ANDREA: Are they allowed to?

-All right, thank you. -Wait... -Muchas gracias.

First of all, play your game.

-Focus on your charcutes. -We're playing our game.

Mind your business.

It rubbed us the wrong way.

-It was kind of like... -Didn't like the moment.

"Why is this...?" Yeah.

Muchas gracias, señor.

Perfect.

We don't know where half the teams are.

All the ones that we saw in there

have been doing it for a minute.

Instead of us struggling and fighting

and trying to get there,

we're going to go and we're going to finish.

JAIME: And we're going to go see another country.

I need your help, Dad, please.

DOUG: Holy cow, we're back where we were.

DYLAN: Darn it.

Had we just stayed with that other team... [sighs]

DOUG: I love to backpack in the wilderness,

so I've hiked up the Andes and the jungle.

But somehow

we got lost.

The one thing we need to do is keep

improving our communication and our mapping.

DYLAN: I think that's it for us, but...

DOUG: Never over till it's over.

We are going to Plaza de España.

-We have to make sure, yeah. -Two stops.

And then we're going to search for our man Phil

and give him the biggest tomato hug.

[laughs]

We are back in the Madrid metro.

Two stops back

to Plaza de España to look for Phil.

[beeps]

-[thud] -CODY: Oh! Ow!

What a call.

We might win today.

CHARLOTTE: This better be freaking obvious, or I'm gonna be so mad.

Clue box, let's go! Come on, Katie, let's go!

-Detour. -Okay.

We're gonna do Slice of History, Museo de Prado-- Prado.

Okay, we need to find, um, someone with directions, okay.

Jody, I love you and I totally trust your abilities in history,

but I think we just use the Express Pass.

JODY: I'm not sure.

JENN: Yes, this is it right here.

JODY: Oh, here's a historical figure.

I know some of these guys.

I'm gonna say Isabella.

Ponce de León.

This could be Cortés.

Can you help us find the author of Don Quixote?

Don Quixote?

JODY AND JENN: Hey, ladies, where's the Plaza de Murillo?

Where we check in at the workstation?

-Down there, around the corner. -Is this real hard?

BOTH: Yes.

JENN: Oh, great, okay.

When we got there, we thought Dafina and Saran

had finished and they're getting directions to the next spot.

-You two are tremendous. -Oh, man...

You're going to help us win a million dollars.

[Dafina laughs]

JODY: The lady in red.

JENN [panting]: Okay. Oh.

Oh, my God, if you can get this, Jody.

I'm just putting these out so you can...

if you recognize people.

JODY: Our thought process was,

if we can maybe do it quickly, let's give it one shot.

This could be Columbus.

Cortés. That's Cortés.

I rattled off a few different names.

-Salvador Dalí, I feel like... -Salvador Dalí, that's Salvador Dalí.

I think that's Picasso.

JENN: I was

zero help on this.

I didn't know any of these people.

JODY: Queen Letizia of Spain is the new one. You're beautiful.

There was about six that I wasn't feeling

super confident about.

I just did not come at that

in a way that was really cool, calm, and collected.

Is Francis Drake here?

Am I in the wrong country?

Diego Velázquez. Uh...

-Oh, but they're not even... -Can we just use...?

I think we just use the Express Pass.

I-I don't think it would take much to...

[Jenn sighs]

JENN: I don't see anyone here.

You don't see anyone here.

All right, I think we could probably get it

on one more going over there.

JENN: I'm totally confident in Jody

and her knowledge in world history, but we saw

no other teams there,

and I know that I can't really bring anything

to the table in this challenge,

so I felt that pressure that we needed to get going.

I think we could get it with, with one trip over.

[Jody groans]

Do you want to take five minutes?

[Jenn groans]

I don't see anyone here.

-You don't see anyone here. -No.

All right, I think we could get it

-between the two of us, but... -I don't...

-All right, let's Express, let's... -The risk-reward is not-- Okay.

Uh, we're going to use our Express Pass.

I hate doing this.

-I know. -JODY: We didn't know

where anyone was, and we, we felt the worst.

-We're using our Express Pass. -We are-- we're presently using our Express Pass.

And I think I had said, like,

"I think I could get this done in under ten minutes,"

but we really

-were worried we didn't have ten minutes to spare. -Yeah.

Sorry, everyone.

I'm an embarrassment to history teachers, my profession,

and I'm questioning all my life's choices.

-Let's make sure, Saran. -Okay.

Hola, I'm Dafina.

-Jenn. -What?

-[groans] -Jo-Jody...

They're still doing it.

PONCE DE LEÓN: I am a Spanish explorer that discovered Florida.

SARAN AND DAFINA: A Spanish explorer that discovered Florida.

[sighs]

We wanted to hold on to that Express Pass a little longer.

Yeah.

I'm sorry, dude.

Hey, don't worry about it.

Okay, we got a ways to go.

-We're doing our best. -Sorry.

Hey, hey, I don't want any more apologies.

We'll just do what we do.

Thanks.

No one else I'd rather do it with.

Yeah, me either.

DALTON: Just very thin slices, but also

-you want to make it look pretty. -Are we doing okay?

See, that one looks good, baby.

It feels good to be with this many teams.

Any time you can see other teams, it's a blessed feeling.

You're killing it, hell yeah.

It's 50 pieces, right?

-JAVI: No, 50 grams. -ERIN: Go ahead, do it.

-Those are nine. -I need nine.

-That's nine, this is nine. -Okay, nine?

-This is nine. -I need the rosemary.

-Where's the rosemary? -Here, here, rosemary.

He's doing meat world, I'm doing the,

-the, the placement. -Welcome to meat world.

I'm making it look prettier.

CONNER: Make sure I'm not going too thick right here.

That's a big deal-breaker, I think.

-Good. -Get the judge.

Excuse me.

[gasps]

-Watch out. -Be careful.

You've got to slow down.

We should get extra bonus points just for that.

That was well done.

I just dodged a little traffic coming inbound.

Absolutely looks delicious.

-Yeah. -Yeah.

For two Kentucky-Indiana girls.

Sorry, sorry, but I don't-- can't have this in the cheese.

ANN-MARIE: The rind. Okay, carry that, Ri.

I can cut it off.

RILEY: You have to cut the skin off the cheese.

I got to cut the skin off the cheese.

Make sure, details.

KATIE: Oh, here, here, arrow, arrow, to the right.

CHARLOTTE: Okay, it looks like the red shirt.

-Okay, there. -Okay, that's us.

Wait, wait, girls.

Can we use our Express Pass?

No, sorry, it's been already used.

-KATIE: Let's go back. -CHARLOTTE: Oh, my gosh!

DAFINA: We got it, G.

Oh, this is gonna be tough.

We have to know the names of the marked individuals.

We immediately asked her if we could use our Express Pass.

It had already been played.

So, really, our only option was to, like,

stick here and get these names done.

-Just the name? -Remember their costume and their name.

We just need one more. Are you gonna switch those?

Yeah.

Hmm, 100%.

-Was that Cortés? -We didn't know him.

-Okay. Okay. Okay. -He was the leftover.

-Check, please. -Where is she?

Okay, now let me see. Hmm.

I'm sorry, but this is still wrong.

You're kidding.

DAFINA: Let's look at it.

SARAN: How can this be?

JODY: It cuts deep to use that Express Pass.

I think, in under ten minutes,

I would have got through that challenge.

But I think the risk of going home this early was too great.

And I would like to keep running the race.

[P.A. chimes]

Express Pass be damned.

MAN [over P.A.]: Próxima estación.

-Hindsight's always 20-20, and so... -Right.

We're not watching the show from the couch like we normally do.

-No. -Being like, "Everyone's behind you."

-Yeah. -"Just do the challenge."

We're about to get off the metro, hopefully for the day,

and find Phil.

Plaza de España. Look for Phil.

MICHELLE: Keep your eyes peeled, babe.

-MATT: Go towards that. -Yeah.

-Over there? -ALI: Yeah.

Where is it?

MICHELLE: Where are you, Phil?

JOANNA AND ALI: Whoo!

Let's go! Olé!

-Welcome to Madrid. -Oh, thank you.

-Gracias. -Thank you so much.

Ali and Joanna, I am pleased to tell you,

you are team number one.

[both cheer]

Chest bump! Chest bump!

[laughing]: Oh, my God.

And I do have some good news.

You have won OneKeyCash from Expedia,

which you can use for a trip for two

to Hobart, Tasmania.

-[both shout] -Do you know where that is?

-Oh, yes, we know where that is. -Do you know where that is?

-Africa! -Africa!

Africa?!

-[laughing]: Oh, no, Tasmania. -No, no.

-Australia. -Australia!

Yeah, yeah, Australia!

Expedia has put together

a recommended five-night unique experience with a tour exploring

Bruny Island and its wildlife, cruising the Tasmanian coast

to discover sea caves and waterfalls,

and wandering through Hobart on a local food tour.

-Good, good... -Uh, uh, uh.

Huge confidence boost. Let's go.

And you know what we still got, Phil?

We still got our Express Pass.

That's super impressive.

The main thing for us is just not to get complacent.

JOANNA: There hasn't been a U-Turn yet,

there hasn't been a Driver's Seat,

there hasn't been self-driving, so a lot

of the really tough challenges still lie ahead.

So you'd be silly to think

that you have this race in your back pocket

because this thing will slap you in the face.

There's my honey.

-The tomato king. -MICHELLE: Don't back away from the tomatoes.

I never want any sauce, no marinara, no Bolognese, nothing.

All right, well, look, you are team number two.

Okay, good job.

MICHELLE: So good.

MATT [sighs]: We work so well together.

Even when it's like this...

-Yes, it's still good. -...it's just as quickly

-like this. -[laughs]

-Looks yummy, yummy in your tummy. -Um...

-Good job. -Yes.

Yes. Okay.

Everything's stressful right now.

It's a very confined space.

We're right where, uh, everyone keeps running back and forth.

DAISHA: At home

my dad is always in the kitchen and making Dalton cook with him.

So it's a constant thing,

my dad being, like, very picky

about how he does certain things.

DALTON: Oh, yeah.

You know, just the pressure felt the same.

It was like I was at home.

But we're working together as a team

and we're trying our best right now.

-DYLAN: There it is, I see it. -DOUG: Yeah.

Let's go.

Here we go.

Let's finish this strong.

Doug and Dylan, I believe, just showed up.

Oh, the pressure's on.

Pop, let's hurry, come on.

-We're not out. -Okay.

We used the Express Pass last leg.

Well, that takes that decision out.

Just glad we're here, man.

Glad we could see some other teams.

-I mean... -Remember, just enjoy the ride.

I'm just happy to be here with my grandpa.

Honestly, a dream come true.

-Uh... -Got to love that, you know?

JAIME: Where are we?

CODY: Plaza de España.

Where's our boy?

-JAIME: Phil. -[Cody panting]

There you go. Cody and Jaime, you are team number three, so...

Yeah!

There we go!

So your mom is, uh, going to be very, very proud of you.

We used our Express Pass.

It's not something we wanted to do,

but she's our everything

and she is the reason why we're doing this,

and we're gonna keep pushing through for her.

KATIE: First one.

Hi, what's your name?

I was a Catholic monarch of Spain.

-Wait, do we have to figure out their name? -I guess so.

-Hi. -VELÁZQUEZ: I painted

Las Meninas.

Hello, how are you?

I'm a famous conquistador.

He's, uh, he's Christopher Columbus, I think.

Maybe.

SARAN: Just think about this.

The mustache had a collar.

That was Velázquez, I believe.

It looks beautiful, doesn't it?

-Yes? -What do you want me to do again?

-EMILIO: Good job. -The melting clock?

-Yeah. -Yeah, that looked like him.

We never found out

-who that guy is. -No.

Maybe we keep everything the way it was and just swap

different pic-pictures for him.

-Okay. -'Cause we're sure about everything else.

That's what I think.

-Bien. -[cheering]

But, wait, we know because he was here, though.

-EMILIO: And good job. -Like, all of them...

-Oh, thank you so much. -DAFINA: Well, wasn't-wasn't...

Was he here?

I don't know, but he was.

-Yeah. -Maybe this is, maybe this is him.

No, I thought this was Picasso.

You had him for Picasso.

Ooh.

You were sure about him for Picasso,

-so let's go back there. -I was. Okay.

-Good job. -[cheering]

-Yes, man, come on. -Gracias, Emilio.

Is this who we think, except him?

-This is who we want? -[sighs]

-Yeah? -Yeah.

Check.

[sighs]

I'm really sorry, but that's not correct.

DAFINA: Okay, Saran.

Yes. What do we do?

DAFINA: We're going to go back and try again.

Oh me, oh my.

ANN-MARIE: All right, let's get to Phil.

RILEY: I see it, come on, come on.

Let's go, let's go.

-Yes. -[panting]

Ann-Marie and Riley, pick a number.

-Three. -Cinco.

Well, how about in the middle?

-Four. -Cuatro--whoo!

How about that? Team number four.

-Congratulations. -[laughs]

SARAN: And then Velázquez.

-Saran, Velázquez is which one? -The painter.

-Oh. -The black coat.

-Hello, how are you? -I'm known as

-La Pasionaria. -CHARLOTTE: Hi, who are you?

I'm a painter who bends time and melts clocks.

Oh! Okay, I've seen his stuff, but I have no idea

-what his name is. -Then let's just go test and see what it is.

-This one here? -Okay, think.

-Thank you. -Do the ones we know first.

[muttering]: Diego Velázquez.

Queen Letizia of Spain.

Was that the wrong mustache?

-When we went back over to the pictures... -No.

...we were kind of, like, analyzing, assessing,

like, what we have to work with.

Clara.

-You think this guy's Miguel? -I don't know.

CHARLOTTE: And we're like, "Oh, shoot,

like, how do we figure out their name?"

We don't know Spanish history that well.

Oh, she's Isabel.

-She started the Catholic monarch. -Okay, okay, okay, whatever.

And then did we decide he is Pablo Picasso?

-[laughing] -Yeah.

CHARLOTTE: I feel like we should know that one at least.

Okay, well, let's put 'em up and check,

and then let's go get more information.

KATIE: Memory's not my skill set.

Sorry, but that's wrong.

CHARLOTTE: Oh, my God, I'm literally dying.

Let's go.

All right.

We're here, we look for Phil.

All we can hope is that maybe, by some miracle,

we're in the middle of the pack.

KEOGHAN: Hi there.

You are team number five.

Wow! [laughs]

And that is a solid finish

against some really tough competition.

We did have to use our Express Pass today.

How did that go down?

Like, who made the decision,

and are you both comfortable with the decision?

I feel comfortable with the decision,

with the information we had at the time.

JODY: I wanted to take

a few minutes at the, at the history challenge.

I would have liked to showcase that as a proud educator,

but anxiety sometimes gets the better of you.

Yeah, so what do you do next?

We move on. We move on, and we hope

-that we don't need that Express Pass. -Yeah.

I can understand the anxiety.

JENN: We don't know what will happen down the line.

JODY: From here on out,

we have to go hard, we have to be gritty.

-We just have to be our best. -Yeah.

DYLAN: We're the last team here.

No point in worrying about it.

You never know what happens.

-Okay. -All right, let's check.

Check.

-Thank you, sir. -[mutters]

DOUG [sighs]: Okay.

-Please, please, please. -DYLAN: Come on.

We can make this up, Pop, we can do it.

Ah, no.

-This plate-- I have two problems. -Okay.

Okay. Okay.

-Thank you. -DOUG: We've had some ups and downs today,

and we're just gonna do the best we can

until Phil says we can't.

-Let's go. Boom. -[Daisha mutters]

KEOGHAN: Daisha and Dalton,

I am pleased to tell you, you're team number six.

That would make you team number seven.

-Let's go! Let's go! -Congratulations.

All right, good job, guys, good job.

Okay, we should kiss.

[kissing]

-I don't like tomatoes. -DALTON: Oh, I forgot.

-Oh. -Oh, shoot. -[groans]

CHARLOTTE: La...

La Pasionaria.

CHARLOTTE: La Pasionaria.

Okay, that sounds right.

She had her fist in the air.

Dolores Ibárruri.

We got it.

-This was Isabella. -Or Isabel.

-Let's go. -Okay, cool.

Do the ones you know first.

Elizabeth I.

This lady-- Dolores.

This has to work.

-She's Rosalía, right, Saran? -Yeah.

He painted the clocks...

-Yeah. -...and melted things.

-Is this Pablo...? -That is Pablo Picasso.

KATIE: I don't know.

Probably like eight wrong.

-[laughs]: But... -Okay, check, please.

Girls... it's not correct.

Okay, thank you. Okay, we're gonna try again.

We didn't try him here. I don't know.

We're going to swap out the one person we're unsure about.

But we need to get a check as quickly as possible.

Check, please.

Please give us good news.

-Oh, she looks sad. -I wish.

No.

-What? -No.

-DAFINA: What the hell? -SARAN: This is so hard.

-Okay, we got to stay in it. -Oh, gosh.

Oh.

If you're ready for the adventure of a lifetime

on The Amazing Race,

then why not go to cbs.com/casting and apply now?

SARAN: Let's look over here.

Is that Clara?

Hello. Okay.

-Swap, swap. -I mixed two-- Clara and María.

-Book it. -Okay.

-We got it. -A hundred percent.

-[singsongy]: We got it. -Yeah.

-[Anuar panting] -One, two, three.

Turn around and look at that team there coming in.

Yeah!

-Give me some. -That was stupid.

[overlapping chatter]

Anuar, Andrea, you are team number eight.

-What? Okay. -GARRETT: Ooh.

No, okay, good job.

That would make you team number nine.

Congratulations, Conner and Garrett.

We still have our Express Passes, too.

[overlapping chatter]

You guys got yours as well?

-Yeah, yeah. -Yeah, we do. -Yeah.

We got this, guys.

-DYLAN: Check. -DOUG: Check, please.

DYLAN: It's a lot more stressful than it looks.

You-you have a good job.

[both cheer]

-Thank you, thank you, thank you. -Thank you, thank you.

-All right, let's go. -Okay. Hey, hey, hey, hey.

-Let's pray, man. -Let's do it.

-Let's go. -DYLAN: Thank you.

CHARLOTTE: I am freaking out.

KATIE: Who do you want to ask?

-We'll ask this one. -No, that's Diego Velázquez.

Well, that's not Pablo Picasso, then.

Where's Pablo Picasso?

-I am the father of Cubism. -KATIE: Cubism.

-CHARLOTTE: Cubism. -Okay, he's probably Pablo Picasso, okay.

-CHARLOTTE: Okay, Pablo Picasso... -Is the jailbird.

SARAN: We're still in this.

-She's María, right, Saran? -Yeah.

-And she's Clara, oh, my God. -Yeah.

CHARLOTTE: Let's go, let's go!

Okay.

Behind you.

[mutters]: Queen Letizia of Spain.

No, we decided this guy was Pablo Picasso.

Oh, sorry, sorry. I didn't know those two.

-Okay, check. -Check, please.

Come on, come on, come on.

We need really good news here.

Oh, my gosh.

Okay, I think we got it.

-Well... -Come on.

-It's right! -Yes!

[overlapping shouting]

-You worked so hard. -Thank you so much.

-Thank you so much. -Thank you so much.

-Let's go. Thank you. -Okay, great.

Can we get a check, please?

-Well, well, well. -[cheering]

Yes, can we have a clue, please?

This is for you.

-Back on the metro? -Yes. Okay.

DYLAN: Well, Pop, this could be it.

I think we might be in last right now.

All good, though.

I'm so happy we did this.

-Hopefully... -Hopefully we're still in the race.

...we're still in the race.

We have to get to Phil.

-DOUG: Plaza de what? -DYLAN: España. Yeah.

-I mean, just got to pray, man. -Yeah.

I really hope...

-we're still in it. -I do, too.

Hey, it's okay. If it's our day, it's our day.

If it's not, it's not.

It ain't over till it's over.

I'm not giving up, man. No, there is no give up.

We know we haven't seen two teams since the tomatoes,

-so... -Yeah.

The true test is coming to see what place we're in.

We're going to the plaza to find Phil on the mat,

and we hope a lot of other teams got lost.

-To the right. -Okay. -Let's go, let's go, let's go.

-To the right. -This way.

[both panting]

Evening, Phil.

I am pleased to tell you, Doug and Dylan,

you are team number ten.

-Congratulations. -Oh, my God.

-[Dylan crying] -[softly]: Congratulations.

DYLAN: You kept me in it. Oh, my God.

-It ain't over till it's over. -I love you, dude.

-I love you, too. -Oh, it was all you.

You kept me in it.

Except the tomatoes. That was me, that was gross.

[laughs]

CHARLOTTE: Phil. Oh, my gosh, where's Phil?

-Phil. -That's got to be the plaza.

He's there, he's there by the flag.

-Okay, you lead, I'll follow you. -Dude, I swear that's Phil.

-No, that's a girl. -KATIE: Oh, my God.

CHARLOTTE: My bad, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.

SARAN: Over there.

-DAFINA: Where? -Right there.

CHARLOTTE: Where's Phil?

Where's Phil? Where's Phil?

Hi, Phil, and hola.

-Hola. -Hola.

I am pleased to tell you that you will be racing

-in the next leg of the race. -[both cheer]

-[both laugh] -And you are team number 11.

That's okay.

-We're still here. -Yes.

You must be incredibly proud of that fact

that you're going into the next leg of the race.

But we'll just continue to grow.

-This is leg two. -It's true.

-Right? -Yes.

Leg three, we're just gonna continue to grow.

Dude, down there.

Where's Phil? Where's Phil?

Okay.

[panting]: Phil.

Katie and Charlotte,

unfortunately, all the other teams have checked in

and you have been eliminated from the race.

Two legs. [laughs]

I don't think you left anything on the table, right?

KATIE: No, it was a great adventure,

and I'm glad we got to do it together.

It was really fun.

Obviously disappointed,

but we had so much fun.

We're so close.

KATIE: And it was fun to see that, like,

we could test our bond and our relationship

and it still, like, held firm.

CHARLOTTE: Yeah.

I'm really glad I did it with you.

-[laughs] -Yeah, me, too.

KEOGHAN: Next time onThe Amazing Race...

Under the Moroccan sun, a new power is up for grabs.

Generosity has its limits.

-Yeah, it's... -Yeah.

I see Daisha and Dalton giving them all of the answers.

KEOGHAN: And everything comes crashing down.

-Oh. -Oh, no.
