PHIL KEOGHAN: This season ofThe Amazing Race will begin

here in Canada.

This is the country's largest port city,

Vancouver, where the mountains

meet the ocean,

inhabited by First Nations

thousands of years ago.

And one of the best ways to see Vancouver's cityscape

is from a floatplane,

something teams are doing right now...

Oh, where we going?

KEOGHAN: ...on their way to the starting line.

[whooping]

KEOGHAN: These 13 teams are all convinced

they have what it takes to winThe Amazing Race.

DAFINA: We're onThe Amazing Race, G.

Wild. It's friggin' wild.

KEOGHAN: But nothing can prepare them for what lies ahead.

Buckle up, everybody, we're going for an adventure.

[exclaiming]

-Hello, Canada! -Wow!

[exclaims]

ALI: We are two former professional soccer players.

JOANNA: And United States Women's National Team players.

ALI: Playing within a team at a high level, we

thrive under that pressure because

we've had to play in stadiums

-with thousands of people. -JOANNA: I think we're

gonna be super competitive.

If we have to crush someone's soul,

we will. Okay?

Brother and sister teams onThe Amazing Race

drive me absolutely up the wall.

Like, oh, "I love you. You're my favorite per--"

Absolutely not. Don't-- First of all, don't touch me.

I don't care if she likes me at the end.

-I don't. -We like money.

-CODY: We like money, we like winning. -JAIME: And winning.

CODY: We will come into this and we are going to

just smoke people.

RILEY: My mom has been working my whole life.

She's just an OG boss lady. Like,

she's someone that has been a breadwinner in our family.

And

now that I've entered male-dominated roles,

such as the military and professional sports, there's

no one I can call to talk to other than

this woman right here.

ANN-MARIE: We want to be,

-after 39 seasons, the first -[mouthing]

mother-daughter Amazing Race winners.

[cheering, whooping]

[man singing in Indigenous language]

[cheering, whooping]

[cheering]

Welcome to the shared territories of our Musqueam,

Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh families.

-You're off to a good start. -[cheering]

Thank you to the Squamish Nation for that

wonderful welcome to Vancouver.

-[cheering] -Let's go, thank you.

KEOGHAN: Welcome, everybody.

[cheering, whooping]

You've all made it pretty clear

that you think you can win this Amazing Race.

Except, the numbers don't really add up, do they?

'Cause you know there's only gonna be one team

winning this Amazing Race.

Still feel confident

standing here when you look at your competition?

[all assenting, whooping]

Now, Ali and Joanna-- By the way,

soccer royalty here on The Amazing Race.

Stop, stop.

You are competitors.

-Yes. -Is there anything you'd like to say out of the gate?

Thank you for allowing us to beat all these teams, you know?

ALI: Watch out.

-So, "besters"? -That's us. -Besters.

-Sisters, best friends? -Through and through.

Have you ever had, like, teardown arguments?

-Nope. -Never?

-Never. -KEOGHAN: I tell you what,

The Amazing Race is a good place

to instigate a good argument

-between besters. -A hundred percent.

DAFINA: We are just so excited to play this game

-until the end. -Period! Ow!

Connor and Garrett, I understand you just met.

-Something like that, dude. -No, we met

-23 years ago or so. -I want a partner swap.

I don't like this guy at all.

We've grown up together, we've seen it all together.

I got a good job doing engineering stuff, so my mind

is very analytical, whereas his is a lot more

comical and athletic. So I feel like

-we have a good balance. -He's just ripping on me, man.

-You are ripping on me, dude. -We're ready to compete

with the best of 'em and, you know, that's all we can do.

KEOGHAN: Erin, I know you and Javi would like that

-million dollars, wouldn't you? -Uh, very much so.

You're the breadwinner in the family right now?

Yes, I-I am. I'm very proud to be, yes.

Although it's okay. He can take that eventually.

Javi, do you know why you're here or has

-she told you why you're here? -Oh, no, no.

I-I know why I'm here.

Although she did tell me.

I'm a flight instructor down in Florida, so I'm here

to take the reins and hopefully

-prove to her that I can do it. -ERIN: Absolutely.

We just got married seven months ago,

-so we're ready-- -Congratulations.

ERIN: So I'm ready for him to step up,

show me the man that I married, and

we will be winning the money.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Okay, we love that you guys are competitive.

I want you to know,

only one team

is going to cross the finish line first and win

the $1 million.

Who's it gonna be?

[all clamoring, whooping]

Thank you! Thank you, Phil!

Have a look inside your travel packs.

Open 'em up.

-Express Pass. -Express Pass.

[whooping, cheering]

For the first time in Amazing Racehistory,

there's going to be

13 Express Passes in play

at one time.

It's up to you when you use it.

RILEY: That just took this game to a whole nother level.

This is a different season of Amazing Racethan we've seen

because everyone has that secret weapon.

KEOGHAN: Here's how this Express Pass works.

In any challenge-- at a Detour,

at a Roadblock-- you can skip that challenge

and carry on racing. You can

use this Express Pass up until the end

of the sixth leg.

Only one Express Pass will be in play

on any given challenge,

meaning if someone plays the Express Pass

on a particular challenge, you can't use yours.

You also do not want to be eliminated

with an Express Pass in your possession.

JOANNA: Immediately, my brain goes to strategy.

Like, how are you gonna play it, when are you gonna play it?

You don't want to burn that Express Pass,

but maybe you'll have to. It's like

life support for a team that's maybe in last place.

So is everybody ready to race?

[all assenting, cheering]

The world is waiting for you.

Good luck.

Travel safe.

though, right now, is we all got Express Passes.

Let's see how that plays right there. Let's see how it plays.

Everyone has an Express Pass. I think it's a game-changer.

RILEY: Here's a bunch of flags right here.

I don't want other teams to see us.

JAVI: I found the Aquabus.

-It's down there. -Okay, beautiful, good job.

-JAVI: It's a rainbow one. -Very good job.

JAVI: All right, overdrive. [exclaims]

Let's go.

-ERIN: Hi. -JAVI: Hello.

JAVI: Thank you.

-Thank you so much. -Watch your step, guys.

Please watch your head as you board your vessel.

ERIN: We're going to Ma-- Vancouver Maritime Museum.

We can get that here?

JAVI: Okay, perfect.

Would you say there's another Aquabus

already pulled into that station?

CAPTAIN: We're running about every seven minutes, so

there's a good chance there's already one there waiting.

That Express Pass saved our asses.

Saved our little butts.

GARRETT: Whoo! Feels so good to not be a bear anymore,

-I'll tell you what. -Yeah, come on, man.

MICHELLE: Come on, babe. I see the Aquabus.

MATT: Here comes Logan Paul and Benson Boone,

so we got to go.

[Garrett exclaims]

-Aquabus! -MICHELLE: Are you guys

going to the Vancouver Maritime Museum?

Okay, let's go, guys, let's go.

-Let's go, come on, come on! -Thank you, let's go.

-Watch your steps, everybody. -Will do.

-MICHELLE: Let's go, guys. -[cheering, applause]

Let's go! Let's do it.

Confession: Logan Paul.

Benson Boone.

No!

He hates that. He hates being called Logan Paul.

I'm sorry! We had such good chemistry.

-Thanks so much, guys. -Thank you, appreciate it. -Thank you.

All right.

ERIN: I think I see the clue box.

JAVI: All right, come on.

-ERIN: You got it. Team one. -All right.

-Team one. -All right.

-All right, here we go. -Okay.

Detour. "Run It Up" or "Paddle It Out."

KEOGHAN: The Port of Vancouver and its

rich maritime history

is documented in this museum.

Part of the exhibit includes

maritime flags like this.

In this Detour,

teams need to memorize

the meaning of these flags and then

make their way to a nearby dock.

The captain of this boat will then

randomly call out the names of five flags.

Man overboard. On fire. Keep clear.

Want to pilot. Pilot aboard. Stop instantly.

KEOGHAN: If they can voice the correct flags

in the correct order,

they'll be rewarded with a clue.

Vancouver is a paradise

for water sports enthusiasts.

This Detour gives teams the chance

to join in the fun,

paddling in a tandem outrigger canoe.

Teams must pick up a clue

at one of six buoys

scattered around this bay.

It's anyone's guess how long it will take.

But regardless of time,

staying upright...

could completely flip teams out.

-We're gonna do Run It Up. -Run It Up.

-All right, ready? Let's go. -All right? Let's do it.

ERIN: We have already ran way more than we needed to.

Might as well do something mental.

JAVI: And give our bodies

-a little bit of a rest. -Yeah.

Do you want me to memorize the front row,

-you memorize the back? -Let's just do 'em both.

ERIN: I don't think that's smart. If he

tells us what it is, then we can come back

-and just remember the five. -Well, it might be

-different every time. -It might be.

I had thought, "What if we just run down,

"he tells us the five, we learn those five,

we come back. And then there was a moment,

I was like, "This is The Amazing Race.

-"They're not gonna make that easy. -Yeah.

He's probably gonna keep switching up.

JAVI: All right. Man overboard.

ERIN: Okay, "man overboard" is Amazing Race.

JAVI: There's 25 flags,

all with the definitions underneath

that we had to go and memorize.

-"I am stopped." Stopped. -White X, stop.

-"Yes" to a blue sandwich. -"Yes" to a blue sandwich. Okay.

Erin did a good job of creating, like, little funny memory aids.

ERIN: Stop, drop, and roll, because blue is like water.

JAVI: That's a lot of words to remember there.

Honestly, we had a pretty good system.

-ERIN: "No." Checkers. -Checkered flag is "no."

-I don't want to play checkers. "No." -That's right.

That's like the no-no cross. "Stop your intention."

ERIN: These were my elementary school colors.

-Okay, there you go. -"Want a pilot." I want a pilot.

JAVI: Okay.

JOANNA: Let's grab some

friggin' fish, huh?

Here we go, Jo!

This is the venue where we won

the 2015 Women's World Cup

with the U.S. Women's National Team.

Here goes something.

ALI: I'm Ali Krieger, former U.S. Women's National

Team player and Gotham FC defender.

JOANNA: I am Joanna Lohman, former

professional soccer player,

member of the United States Women's National Team.

We played soccer at Penn State together

and that's when we first met.

JOANNA: Being teammates

first and foremost and friends

has really connected us.

We've competed at the highest level,

but it's been more than that for us.

You got this!

JOANNA: It's about being role models.

It's about fighting

for equal pay,

social justice, and

our competitive spirit is coming back

after all these years of being retired.

ALI: And we want to prove

to the world and

to ourselves that we still got it.

You got this.

Come on, Jo!

[grunting]

ALI: Yes!

-Let's go! -Let's go!

-Let's go! -Whoo!

I caught that fish!

RILEY: So, I've talked to, like,

a lot of the all-girls teams.

Dude, there's some, like, boss women,

which is just, like, super great.

No one said anything, like, full alliance-wise,

but I think we're all in agreement that--

Let's just have a female team cross that line at the end.

-Come on. -All girls, let's go.

Thank you, man.

Thank you, thank you.

CONNER: The highest chance of winning for this guy.

We're pretty much telepathic.

There we go.

Check this out. [chuckles]

Think of a tool.

-Yeah. -On the count of three.

One, two, three.

-Wrench. -Screwdriver.

Close enough. Yeah.

We're gonna paddle this thing out.

-Let's check out... -Let's do it.

-All right, come on. -Let's get away from this box,

-don't signal to anyone. -Yeah.

-Paddle. Or this. -Let's Paddle It Up.

-Yeah, yeah, yeah. -We'll Paddle It Up.

ERIN: Okay, we can do this.

We know our flags.

JAVI: Yes.

ERIN: So basically, in order

to complete the challenge,

you have to have the captain

read out all of the meanings of the flags

and put the flags

on the line in under two minutes.

The first flag is "yes."

-"Yes." Okay. -Okay, "yes." -Second flag:

"altering course to port."

Third flag: "no."

-"No." -Fourth flag:

"engines going astern."

And fifth: "require a tug."

ERIN: "Require a tug."

It's a tug-of-war.

Tug-of-war, tug-of-war.

JAVI: Can you keep-can you keep

saying them, sir? Sorry about that.

-ERIN: Tug-of-war. -First flag is "yes."

Second flag: "altering course to port."

Third flag: "no."

-Fourth: -ERIN: "No."

-"engines going astern." -Which one's the "no"?

Fifth: "require a tug."

I got the fifth one. Which one's the "no"?

Do you remember "no"?

"No"? I don't remember a "no."

JAVI: Checkered flag is "no."

I don't want to play checkers. "No."

Thirty seconds left.

"Astern." Do you remember...

-We don't remember all of them. -I remember...

-Do you remember "no"? -I remember the astern one.

I think it's, uh, I think this one.

But we're-- I don't think we're gonna have time, baby.

-We should probably just go... -We need-we need... we need one more.

-Which one was that? "Astern?" -"Astern."

Sorry, c-- What was "no"? What was "no"?

-I don't remember. -I don't remember "no."

-Okay, let's get a move on. -Uh...

That's a good idea. "No."

-Let's go back up real quick. Two seconds. -Let's go back up.

-Time's up. -Let's go back... -Thank you.

We'll be back. I don't remember "no."

ERIN: That's the only one I can't remember.

What was the second one he said?

-WOMAN: Okay. One, two, three. -[shrieks]

Yeah!

Yes! She did it!

-Oh, that was so cool. -I love you, Andrea!

-You did it! -Yeah!

DAISHA: Do you need a hug?

-Ugh. -I know.

Yeah.

So, quite a few teams got it,

and, so, it's really nerve-wracking.

All right, G, round two.

What's up?

Let's go, Zach!

Aah! Aah! Ooh!

NATE: Let's go, Zach. Let's go.

Grab it, dude. Grab the fish.

-No! -Ooh, that's tough.

DYLAN: Come on, Pop. Hoping he can

get it on this next one. I mean...

-Okay. -we're gonna have a real problem if he can't.

Just hoping we can... not be last.

All right, gentlemen.

I like you, but I don't want to see you again. Yeah.

[exhales sharply]

[grunting]

Come on, Pop.

-Oh. Wow. -Ooh. That's tough, dude.

[grunting]

Come on, Pop.

-Oh! Wow. -Ooh. That's tough, dude.

Oh. Got it!

-Whew! -DYLAN: Let's go, baby!

Good job.

Let's do it. Let's crush it. [laughs]

I feel like we might give off, like, kind of a goofy vibe,

but we don't give off that we're scrappy.

-Thank you. -Thank you.

CONNER: Especially because we're not

like, the bodybuilder type or anything like that, but...

GARRETT: We are down

to get dirty.

-Thank you so much. -Here you go. Put it in.

-You have the map, Conner? -Let's go do it, dude.

-I got the map, man. Here. -Okay.

Go. Go.

CONNER: Let's go.

-You know where we're going? -CONNER: Yup.

It's those buoys straight out there.

-The yellow ones? -CONNER: Yup.

-Serious distance. -GARRETT: Ready? Left.

All right.

-GARRETT: Sorry, it's touchy. -Yeah.

Just super small movements will be good.

GARRETT: Keep it nice and long paddles, too.

-Strong. -CONNER: Yeah. I know.

-Do you see a map? Six. -MICHELLE: Yeah, I do.

How much...

-GARRETT: Can you see 'em? -CONNER: Yeah. [laughs]

-Thanks, guys. -Yeah.

-Thank you, Matt and Michelle. -Yeah, thank you.

-That was on me. -That's... I'm sorry, babe.

-Too much on the gas. -Wait, wait. Look at the-- Let's look--

MICHELLE: I think we're professional

"tipper and get back

-on the boat" people. -MATT: Let me go in first.

We developed a method

to flip it back over and get in.

I just was, like, a washed-up whale

across the back

to stabilize it.

Okay, we're back.

We're back in action.

Oh!

DALTON: You got this!

You got it, you got it, you got it!

Good job, baby!

I'm sorry. You grabbed the rope,

-not the fish. -What?

CODY: Let's go, Muscles!

Who do you think you are, huh?

Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go!

Yes! Whoo!

JAIME: Woo-hoo!

Here's your omega-3, sir.

Nice catch.

There you go.

Thank you.

I'm so proud of you. I'm so proud of you.

-Sorry. Oh. -For what? You did great.

Ooh, dwindling down here.

-CHARLOTTE: Here we go, here we go! -KATIE: Where?

CHARLOTTE: Right, straight in front of you. To the right.

-On the ground. -KATIE: [shrieks] I'm blind.

We're gonna do Paddle It Out.

Okay. We can paddle.

-Let's canoe. It's fun. -All right.

Paddle It Out. Anything that has to do

with physical strength, we're gonna do it.

"Make your way to Teatotaler Beach."

GARRETT: Whew.

CONNER: Yeah, it's a workout, man.

GARRETT: I see the buoy.

It's, like, on the right, yeah.

Nice.

Don't move it.

CONNER: A little bit left.

Back.

-Yup. -I can grab it.

-CONNER: Do you have a clip on yours? -No, I'll give it to you.

-Here you go. -Thank you, sir.

-Well done, brother. -Come on, now. Whew.

-CONNER: There we go. -Yeah!

-Whoo! -Yeah!

Whoo! Good job, guys!

There's two clues on that buoy, the first one.

Far right one, far right one.

-Far right? Thank you! -Thank you, guys.

We're definitely not group-project people.

Like, we would rather get an "A"

or an "F" on our own, but

we get a tip, a point in the right direction, you know...

MICHELLE: Got it?

MATT: ...we're not gonna

not take advantage.

-I'll go in the back, I guess. -Okay.

KATIE: We're sisters, and we are best friends.

We do everything together.

So we're from a family of 12 kids.

We were all packed into a house with three bedrooms.

There was four or five of us in every single room.

So, you either learn to get along,

or life is miserable.

Okay, we need to go to the buoy straight in front of us.

CHARLOTTE: Her being the second oldest,

she kind of had to, like, help keep us in line.

And so she's used to being in control.

And she sometimes thinks

she's my parent. She's not.

Just her being a little too hands-on.

Sometimes you need it.

CHARLOTTE: Yellow buoys out there. Hang on.

-Oh, wrong way. So sorry. -You're gonna have to help.

Okay, let's go.

ERIN: All right, we are ready.

-First flag: "want a pilot." -Ah.

-"Want a pilot" is elementary. -Second:

"stop instantly."

Third: "I am stopped."

I don't know how to do this.

Honey, I don't know how to do this.

-I got it. -Second one.

Fourth: "standing into danger."

-ERIN: "Standing into danger." -Fifth: "am dragging anchor."

ERIN: "Standing into danger." Can you go again, sir?

-First: "want a pilot." -Yup.

-Second: "stop instantly." -Got it.

Third: "I am stopped."

"I am stopped" is... This one is the one that's "I am stopped."

I'm pretty sure.

Fourth: "standing into danger."

Do you remember "standing into danger"? Standing...

"Standing into danger"? Yeah, I know that one.

-"Standing into danger" is the... -Is this one, baby.

Is that one. Keep going, keep going.

CAPTAIN: Ticktock, people.

-What was the fifth one? -"Am dragging anchor."

Yeah, get the "dragging anchor," babe.

This is tug-of-war. This is Nepal.

This is Amazing Race.

-This is "astern." -CAPTAIN: Need a decision.

-Polish pilot. This is, um... -CAPTAIN: Hurry up.

Time's running out.

JAVI: Aah! Come on, come on, come on.

"Dragging anchor." Here. Okay, let's just... Here.

This one. The only one I'm not sure about. Put it on.

-Come on. -CAPTAIN: Hurry, hurry, hurry. Get 'em up, sailors.

ERIN: Pull it, pull it. And then do this one.

-Yes! Okay. Oh, my God. -Yes. All right.

-Thank you so much. -Thank you so much.

-Okay, hold that. All right. -Route Info.

Route Info. Okay. "Race to your first Pit Stop."

KEOGHAN: Erin and Javi skipped the Roadblock,

using their Express Pass.

-There you go. There you go. -BOTH: Thank you so much.

And having finished the Detour, are now racing here...

Oh, there's some taxis right there.

KEOGHAN: ...VanDusen Botanical Garden,

one of the many urban escapes here in Vancouver.

The last team to check in with me here

will be eliminated.

JAVI: Taxi? Right here.

ERIN: Good job, Javi.

JAIME: You don't know how many fish I just caught to get here.

-Well, that... -Is my lip bleeding? Like...

Yeah, your lip's bleeding.

Yeah, so the first time, I hit the rope face-on,

and it hit my... busted my lip, and I was like...

People underestimate me 'cause I'm a blonde and I'm skinny

-and they might... -Those are both true.

"Oh, she's gonna tap out."

But they don't understand that I don't care

if I'm dragging my way, I will be dragging my way.

Dude, first blood. There we go.

So we know Zach and Nate are behind us.

-Dalton and Daisha. -Dalton and Daisha.

-Dafina and Saran. -And they're a strong team, I think.

DYLAN: They are strong.

SARAN: Come on, G.

-Come on. -[shrieking]

-[yelling] -You got it! Focus!

Oh. Oh. Oh.

SARAN: Yeah!

-Let's go, Zach. -And then there were two.

SARAN: G, let's get out of here.

[groaning]

Come on, come on, please. Yes.

Come on, closer.

-Let's go, Zach! Hold on to it! -[Zach groaning]

-There you go. Nice catch. -Thank you.

We need to figure out how far it is,

-'cause my legs are gone. -I know.

Now it's only me and Daisha.

WOMAN: You got this.

DALTON: It's a bit frustrating.

Didn't expect it to be like this. But, hey,

I'm not mad at Daisha.

Um, we don't want to go the wrong way.

I know. We got to find somebody.

Sir, can we... Oh, shoot, dude.

You got this, Daisha.

-Let's go baby! -[clapping]

Whoo!

-DAISHA: Yeah! -That's what I'm talking about!

-DAISHA: Let's freaking go! -Whoo!

-I love you! -Whoo!

NATE: You want to cross?

ZACH: We need to get to some people.

-See this guy in the headphones? -Yeah.

-That's what I'm thinking. -Yeah. Oh, let's go.

MAN: Great catch.

-Thank you so much. -You're welcome.

-I appreciate it. -DALTON: Let's go, let's go.

-Sir. -Excuse me, sir.

Sir, can I talk to you real quick?

Can you show us where the Plaza of Nations is?

-Okay, thank you. -Okay, thank you.

Appreciate it.

Let's ask them.

Hey, Plaza of Nations dock?

-What? -The Plaza of Nations dock.

-It's that way. -Keep going? Okay. -Okay, thank you.

-Let's go. -NATE: Oh, it's this team.

Zach, they're already going.

-DALTON: He said over here, right? -I don't know.

NATE: Dalton and Daisha--

they're gone.

And at that moment, I was like this.

ZACH: We're behind. We're behind.

-Cross. They're going. -Uh, we're in last.

ZACH: We're last. They're going. They just knew where to go.

All right, let's go. We'll catch up.

-We're not too far away from the other team. -Okay.

ZACH: If we get there, and there is an Express Pass,

-we might need to. -NATE: Yeah, we got...

-Yeah, I get it. I get it. -ZACH: All right, all right.

-Look, water's this way, right? -Water's this way.

All this is water. We got to catch up. They're right there.

-ZACH: Ugh. My legs. -Come on, baby.

DAISHA: Plaza of Nations.

DALTON: You see it?

-Right there. -Okay, let's go.

Oh, this looks like the Plaza of Nations, dude.

This is totally it, right here.

DALTON: We just got to get to the dock.

-SARAN: You see somebody? -[boat horn honks]

-Here we are. Here we are. -Oh.

That's it. Let's go.

-Hold up. -Come on. They're right there.

I think we need to leave now.

Dude, we could probably get on the same taxi as them.

-All right. -So then, that way, we're not last. Come on.

Excuse us.

NATE: They're right there. We got this.

-Just come on. -ZACH: Dude, I'm trying.

-Can we get on? Let's go. -Yeah.

-ZACH: Okay. -Come on. Come on. Come on.

Where's the boys? Have you seen the boys?

I thought they were behind you.

-Zach, they're on it. -There they are.

If you'd like the opportunity to be at the starting line

like these Amazing Raceteams,

then go to cbs.com/casting

and apply now.

ALL: The world is waiting for you!

[all whooping]

NATE: Dude, we could probably get on the same taxi as them.

-Come on, come on, come on. -Oh, my God. I'm trying.

-Let's go! -DAFINA: Good job, you guys.

DALTON: Have you seen the boys?

I thought they were behind you.

They were right in front of us. There they are!

DAFINA: Oh, no!

[boat horn blowing]

[Zach panting]

DALTON: Oh, man, that's the heartbreak.

DAFINA: The lovebirds got on the boat.

Unfortunately, the brothers are left behind.

-Thank you, Jesus. -[laughing]: Yeah.

-The Amazing Raceis something. -That was...

ANUAR: You got this.

Down there, to the left. Okay.

This is gonna be a tough one.

We're gonna Paddle It Out.

"Run It Up" or "Paddle It Out"?

ANDREA: We should do Run It Up. It's a memory challenge.

Let's go.

KATIE: Okay, go closer.

You grab on, grab on, grab on.

-It's right there, it's right there. Okay. -Okay, I got it.

-Hey, ladies! Whoo! -Way to go, girls!

-Yeah, girl power! -You're crushing it!

KATIE: This is our year. A girl-girl team's

-gonna win it. There are so many -Yes.

strong girls, and it's so fun to compete alongside them

and just be a part of that group.

What if there's a sea lion?

Sea lions mean sharks.

-KATIE: Okay, can you stop? -[laughs]

Nice. Oh, God.

-ANN-MARIE: Point at that buoy. -RILEY: Yup.

-Let's go. -Whoop.

DAFINA: We did not talk to Daisha and Dalton

on the Aquabus. We were

developing our strategy.

SARAN: If they use their Express Pass before us,

then we're screwed,

so we had to use it first.

We knew that Nathaniel and Zach were behind us.

They're speedy.

So we couldn't take comfort in that.

-We just need to follow that Aquabus. -MAN: Okay.

NATE: We were so close behind them.

Follow the other aquabus!

NATE: Oh, just trying to win a race.

Oh, my gosh.

Ooh. Slow down.

-Thank you. -Thank you.

Tear it open.

BOTH: "Search for Phil near Heron Lake."

-Let's go. Come on, baby. -Let's go, baby.

Thank you so much.

We needed one last hurrah.

-Let's do Paddle Out. -Let's do...

-JAIME: Paddle? -Let's go do that.

-Are you okay to do Paddle Out... -Sure.

I knew this guy was tired. He didn't want to admit it.

-You all right? -Yup.

DYLAN: We have something that can get us

to the finish line.

We could use our Express Pass,

-so let's do it. -Okay.

ANDREA: Those are the flags on the sticks.

You take back row? If we can knock this out,

we're gonna pass all those other teams.

ANUAR: Just don't talk to me right now.

I'm trying to f...

-You got this, Dad. -Shh!

My name is Anuar. This is Andrea, my daughter.

We're from Houston, Texas.

When Andrea was born, she and I had a very special bond.

But then, Mom and I decided to

go our separate ways.

ANDREA: We really didn't get to spend

a lot of time together.

ANUAR: Last year, she graduated from Brown,

and she decided to come live with me.

ANDREA: Coming onThe Amazing Race

is the ultimate way to learn more about each other.

He thinks his way is always the right way,

but I also think my way is the right way,

so, we're gonna have to find a balance.

-They are getting to the... -Dad, Dad,

don't focus on other people.

ALI: Paddle. We're going straight ahead.

Hey, we got this.

I got the clue. Straight to the beach.

Route Info. "Race to your first Pit Stop."

-Okay, let's go. Let's change. -Let's change.

DALTON: This is it.

"Run It Up" or "Paddle It Out"?

Oh, my.

-We're gonna Paddle It Out. -Paddle It Out.

Do we see it?

DAFINA: We didn't know if an Express Pass

had been used on either side of the Detour.

We'd like to use our Express Pass.

-There you go. -DOUG: All right.

Let's do this thing.

SARAN: So the safest plan for us--

we said we would work with Daisha and Dalton,

because we knew that Zach and Nathaniel were still behind us.

-Is it that right there? -I don't know.

SARAN: But in the back of our mind, there was

a possibility that we would use our Express Pass.

Keep coming.

CODY: Jaime, you got navigation up there

somewhere?

-Oh! -Oh!

-All right. [groans] -All right.

Yeah. Is it bad?

CODY: I looked my little sister right in the eye,

and I lied to her face.

No, no, no, it's fine.

"Yeah, you're good." Like... [laughs]

Okay, don't worry about anything else.

You're just going forward on the left.

Here we go.

ERIN: Where is he?

-JAVI: He's right here. -ERIN: Where?

-JAVI: Right here. -ERIN: Oh, there he is.

Phil!

-Bring it all in. -JAVI: We made it.

[speaking Indigenous language]

It is my honor to welcome you.

-Thank you so much. -Thank you so much.

-It's a beautiful country. -It's beautiful country.

KEOGHAN: Erin and Javi, I'm pleased to tell you

that you are team number one...

[both whooping]

...on this first leg, and I do have some great news for you.

As the winners of this leg of the race,

you have won OneKeyCash from Expedia,

-ERIN: Oh, my gosh. -which you can use

for a trip for two to Turkey.

-Oh, my gosh. Yeah. -Oh! Let's go. Let's go.

KEOGHAN: Expedia has put together a customized

six-day guided tour, exploring

Istanbul's Ottoman monuments,

a traditional Turkish hammam experience,

the underground cities of Cappadocia,

and a hot air balloon ride

over the fairy chimneys.

-Whoo! -Let's go!

So you burned off that Express Press

-right out of the gate. -We didn't burn it. -We didn't burn it.

I started hearing

other teams running in the background.

You want to try it?

Yes. We got to hurry up.

DAISHA: Which did y'all do?

what we were doing.

-Oh, wow. -I don't see anything.

Let me see this. Let me see this.

DAFINA: 'Cause we're killing our lead

on Zach and Nathaniel.

ZACH: Paddle Out.

-Paddle Out. [mumbles] -Let's go, baby.

ALI: Yeah.

Okay.

-JOANNA: Proud of us. -Proud of us.

-How's it going, baby? -Let's go, Amazing Race.

I smell Phil.

-Whoo! -Ooh!

Connor and Garrett, I am pleased to tell you that you are

MICHELLE: Come on, babe.

You guys: team number three.

You're smiling away. Look at that.

Look at how big that smile is there.

Michelle, you look a little emotional.

-I just want to really make our kids proud. -Yeah.

ANDREA: We got this, Dad.

-Okay. -What am I looking for?

-There is a ton of flags. -Could you repeat them, please?

First: "am dragging anchor." Second: "pilot on board."

-Third: "diver down, keep clear." -Dad, Dad, Dad, come on!

ANUAR: Trying to memorize something, and the other teams--

they're going.

ANDREA: He kept saying, "Look, the other teams--

they're paddling out."

It's stressful when you see them.

We're not gonna stand here and do nothing.

Grab-grab-- grab the flags. Grab the flags.

Dad, you got to help. Every minute counts.

CODY: Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going.

-That's true. You're right. Okay. -We're together. Memory.

DALTON: We saw other teams in the water.

Paddling wasn't something that we could work together on.

-No one's at memory right now. -We got it. Let's do it.

You want to break it up-- we all five remember?

-Yeah. -So one, two, three. -Wait.

There's the boys.

There's a lot of flags. I know we only have

to do five of them, though.

DAFINA: If the four of us work together,

there was still the possibility

that Zach and Nathaniel could use the Express Pass.

Teatotaler Beach.

DAFINA: Then we're working with a team,

only one of us is going to get out of alive.

We need to find the captain.

Come on!

DALTON: It's a lot.

There's probably a reason why no one's doing this.

Okay.

We'd like to use our Express Pass.

Here's your clue.

-Thank you. -Thank you.

DALTON: Let's see what they say.

JOANNA: We're almost there.

Has an Express Pass been played?

MAN: Yes, it has.

DAISHA: We saw Dafina and Saran.

Okay, that's where we need to go.

-Swapping? -SARAN: Sorry, guys.

We used our Express Pass.

-They have. -Okay. -Okay.

to go boom, boom, boom, boom.

Wait a minute.

Yeah, paddle in the middle.

I'm steering. Yeah. Faster.

-All right, stop it. -I don't... There's no stop button.
