I'm country-made. However, I love all music.

I was in the Army for eight years,

and in 2009 I was deployed to Afghanistan.

First day, we hear, "Rocket attack, rocket attack."

And I'm like, "I'm sorry. What?"

But when I tell you it was some of the best time of my life,

I would do it again.

I got a chance to go to the Army band,

and you get to run and sing.

Man, I got the biggest lungs from that.

I loved it because of the people I met,

the relationships that I formed, and I got to serve the country

while I was at it, doing all that.

I was waiting 'cause like, okay, I know she's young,

but this is incredible for young.

But I have won this show with a 16-year-old, actually a couple.

And I love working with really young artists

because there's no expectation. There's just joy.

It's almost like y'all don't limit yourselves.

It makes it really fun and inspiring for me, as well.

The fact at 16 years old you got going down there low

and you're going all the way up there and your head voice.

It's beautiful.

Like, have you been singing for a while?

I've been singing for a long time.

I performed at the Cutting Room, Stone Pony.

I did a tour called "Hits! The Musical."

I've listened to a lot of '80s and Aretha Franklin,

all the powerhouse vocals that I love and enjoy.

I think you were absolutely fantastic.

I have also worked with young artists.

I used to be a manager.

I managed Monica when she was 12 years old,

and she came with this old soul.

I mean, the girl had it already.

It was just, "How do we guide it?"

You own this stage like nobody's business.

I'm so glad I turned around early

because I got to see you handle the mic.

I got to see you work both sides of the crowd,

get in your own mind,

I've never been in something like that.

So it was a great learning experience to

see what they do behind the scenes.

That led me to being on "Tina."

I played young Tina Turner on the national Broadway tour.

We traveled to over like, 30 states.

It was such an amazing family bonding experience for us.

It was the best experience ever.

She was two months old. She was two.

She got potty trained on tour.

And Brianna had so much fun.

I love you so much.

I love how you sing. It makes me happy.

We are so proud of her and she deserved to be here

as the youngest in the competition on "The Voice."

Man, it takes such a huge amount of courage... Mm-hm.

...to be able to even attempt something like that.
