I need to announce that next year, there will be a change.

The administration has made the decision to split the ER and surgical departments.

Which means I will remain chairman of surgery,

and the ER will be getting a new interim chairperson.

It really has been the honor of my life

to grow this hospital into the trauma center it is today.

But there comes a time to pass the baton.

And I'm very pleased

to pass on the leadership of ER to one of our own,

Senior ER Attending Patrick Sanchez.
