Mr. He, please take a seat.

My boss will be here shortly.

Mr. Alex, it's a privilege.

Why is it you?

Where is your boss?

Mr. He, this is the proprietor of Cloudsea Club,

Mr. Alex.

Have you come to pick another fight today, Mr. He?

Mr. Alex.

I was short-sighted and acted recklessly.

I drank to excess that night

and offended you.

I trust you’re broad-minded enough

to overlook my blunder.

I, He Mu, am ready to do anything you demand.

We are both on our knees.

Such an apology means nothing.

What's the point of kneeling?

If we're both down on our knees,

this apology carries no weight whatsoever.

Kneeling alone is insufficient.

Kneeling alone is insufficient.

If you do intend to redeem yourself,

you ought to figure out

how to offer genuine restitution.

Mr. Alex.

Name whatever you want.

I will accomplish it, no matter what.

[Dearest Episode 8]

Mr. Alex. Does this satisfy you?

Mr. He.

Your wife once splashed staggering sums at Cloudsea.

She prepared 28

birthday gifts for my closest brother.

Every single one priceless.

The occasion was magnificent.

Sadly, fate was cruel to Jie.

He died a brutal death soon after.

I wonder

who bore such ruthless malice.

The hundred-day memorial for Jie is coming.

If you sincerely seeks cooperation,

have your wife furnish another 28 memorial offerings.

Treat it as compensation owed to Cloudsea.

Boss.

Before He Mu left,

he stated he would cover all tabs at Cloudsea tonight

to demonstrate his sincerity.

Add an extra 0 to the final bill.

Forward the full amount to Jie's family.

Understood, Boss.

You serve as Vice President of Wen Group.

How dare you burn through such staggering funds

inside an entertainment venue?

Do you know what rumors circulate?

People say the Wen family's son-in-law

indulges in dissipation and squanders capital recklessly.

Dad,

Strike me if you must.

But hear me out.

My visits to Cloudsea were entirely for Wen Group's interests.

Still making excuses!

I can secure the Xingji land development plot.

What did you say?

Dad.

I headed to Cloudsea

to seize the Xingji project.

Officially, development rights rest

with Minister Zhou of the Resources Bureau.

Yet the true power pulling the strings

is Alex, the owner of Cloudsea.

To claim the land,

I must win him over.

Alex.

I've heard of him.

His backers run deeper than anyone can fathom.

Dad.

I give you my word.

I will capture the Xingji land for Wen Group.

When the board convenes,

I will personally invite Alex to attend

and reassure all shareholders.

Whether you earn the vice chairman position seat

depends entirely on your performance this round.

If you bring shame on me

over such a big project,

forget the vice chairman position.

-Let alone... -Dad.

I swear on my life.

I will secure Xingji for Wen Group.

Sell my two vintage cars

to raise sufficient capital.

Match every gift Wen Xin once gave Jie,

and send double the quantity to Cloudsea.

Boss.

Last time Alex added an extra 0

to the bill,

it already cost you a fortune.

Now you plan to pour even more money into gifts.

You

fail to grasp the bigger picture.

No matter the price tag,

I cannot afford to let this plan fail.

Boss.

Enough.

Give me a massage.

Boss. These were delivered by He Mu's men.

He says he will send double the gifts

his wife previously presented.

This is an invitation for you to attend Wen Group's dinner.

Mr. Alex.

The show has just begun.

Phase 3:

Force him to watch everything he built

get stripped away in front of everyone.

And then,

he loses everything.

Distinguished shareholders and colleagues,

Wen Group

has endured more than 40 years.

Now we stand at a pivotal stage for transformation and expansion.

At this strategic summit,

I bring a turning point for Wen Group.

I have also

invited a key guest today,

one of the core masterminds behind this project.

Please join me with warm applause

to welcome Mr. Alex from Cloudsea Club!

Mr. Alex, the floor is yours.

One moment.

Thank you for that elaborate introduction, Mr. He.

Allow me to make proper introductions for everyone.

This is Jiang Yu,

proprietor of Cloudsea Club,

Mr. Alex.

also...

my fiancé.

Jianan, are you joking?

How could Dr. Jiang

be Mr. Alex?

This gentleman is Mr. Alex.

Mr. He, you must have misheard.

I am not Mr. Alex.

I am Mr. Alex's assistant.

He is the real Alex.

I have

a major announcement to share today.

This is the development contract for Xingji.

A top-tier team has claimed the bid.

The leader of that team

is my fiancée,

Ms. Wen Jianan.

Thank you.

Dad, you no longer need to worry about this.

I will steer the project forward personally.

Dad.

The Xingji project is out of your hands.

Hand it over to Jianan.

I never imagined you are Mr. Alex.

A pleasure to meet you.

Jianan has

rendered extraordinary merit to the group

by securing the Xingji project.

As her grandfather, I must grant a fitting reward.

The Strategic Director position

has long sat vacant.

I've decided to give this position to Jianan

as your engagement gift.

Thank you, Grandpa.

Everyone,

I am confident with Alex's support,

our project will advance at full speed.

Excellent.

Thank you for your faith, Grandpa.

I will deliver results on Xingji

and carve out broader territory for Wen Group.

Splendid.

Assistant, come over.

Come on.

On such an important day,

let's take a group photo to preserve this moment.

Come on.

Three, two, one.

Dad.

I've won.
