just long enough for us to get a reading

and then, just as suddenly, disappeared.

Such precise synchronization
all but rules out

the chaos of natural phenomena.

Are they some kind of signal?

That's what we're calling
it, but I'll leave the rest

seem to be moons, stars

or any other type of planetoid.

detect anything about them

or engage with them in any way.
