When they saw that I was right,

because you were forced to send it back?

So we can't be certain
that it was semen, right?

Look at this purple color here.
This is semen.

The amount of acid phosphatase was large,
but it hadn't been analyzed before.

I sent them the samples
where there was semen.

And this purple stain is semen.

Don't tell me there is no semen there,

Just as he mentioned human semen,

the same expert who did this analysis
with laser rays four years later

said that these could be semen stains.

And as for the blood, he says

that these drops have blood morphology

and that there is a lack of evidence
to confirm if it was the victims' blood,

but he does claim that there is blood.

So the semen was a possibility,
but the blood is almost confirmed.

on forensic medicine as an extraction,

and they are characterized

by an absence of blood at the moment
of extraction and a few minutes later.

They may not bleed.

What the arteries and veins do

is to retract
and react with a contraction.

The car didn't have a single fingerprint.

That fact is very strange, too,
because a car where these events happened

must have some fingerprints,
but none were found.

And that is highly suspicious.

that no biological trace
of the girls was found.

was driving the car,

that the crime was committed
at the house in La Romana,

the court has passed sentence.

This afternoon, one of the most awaited
sentences in Spain's criminal history

was published.

The Provincial High Court of Valencia
was literally taken over by the media.

Sentenced to 30 years
for each one of the three murder offenses

and sentenced to 20 years

for each one of the four continuing
rape offenses and the kidnapping.

Miguel Ricart was condemned to 170 years
in jail for kidnapping, rape and murder.

It would have been fair had the court
taken into consideration the evidence

and realize that Miguel Ricart
was just a pawn.

It will be 30 years,
I hope he will serve his full time

and he doesn't see the sentence commuted.

They say it should be commuted.

For someone who has done so much evil,
no sentence should be commuted.

We have to keep investigating.
That's my only wish.

This guy should rot in prison
and the others have to be arrested.

There's a detail that,
for the first time in five years,

has appeared in writing.

There are judges who consider
that more people were involved.

and rejected the registration
of the Alcàsser Girls Foundation.

the journalists who led the investigation.

At the end of the trial,
my relationship with them was bad.

With Fernando,

tremendously bad,

probably because of our personalities.

So it was obvious
that I couldn't go speak to Fernando.

I'd had many arguments
with Juan Ignacio Blanco,

but all things considered,

we could have a professional conversation
without any problem.

So another journalist contacted Fernando

to demand an explanation
for the foundation and the money,

and I contacted Juan Ignacio.

I told him, "Look, Juan Ignacio,
I've been investigating

the foundation.

You haven't done anything
and the money isn't there either.

could be given to us

is really terrifying.

Fernando García was given
a 285,000 euro fine for slander offenses.

I don't think I committed any crime.

I gave my opinions
during a difficult moment for me,

but it was my daughter's body
that was there.

I've never met any of the people
who have felt alluded to.

I have a clear conscience
and I don't think I have offended anyone.

Suddenly, Fernando hung up and said:

"Juan, get dressed, we have to leave.

The priest just called and said
he has something for me."

The church is close to Fernando's house,
just 300 or 400 meters away.

Fernando walked in alone,
because the priest told him to.

He came out with an envelope
with a video tape in it.

That's not true.

Saying that the priest gave a tape to...

What's his name? Fernando. That's false.

The priest told him that one person,

under seal of confession,

gave him that envelope

to be delivered to Fernando García.

I wasn't given any of that stuff.

I received a call. They told me
there was something about some tapes.

"Well, no." He sounded scared,
you could tell he was nervous.

Maybe he's drugged or something,

or it's one of those cases
where they give false leads.

And when he called,
I told him, "Well, wait,

because I have to talk to Fernando."

And my mission was to put them in contact
with each other.

-He called at the time...
-He was supposed to call.

He called at 9:00 p.m.

"Hey, listen,

Fernando is already here."

I gave him the phone,
but he had already hung up.

And that's it. That was all.

We walked out
and I spent the whole night with Fernando,

waiting until we could use the VCR

to see what was on that tape.

We went to the house
of one of Fernando's brothers,

and that was
where we watched the video tape.

Who were there?

We were Fernando García,
his brother and me. No one else.

-I've never seen it.
-Okay.

-You've never seen it.
-No.

There are some things
that Juan Ignacio never told me.

Maybe because...

I don't know, but there are things
he never told me.

I haven't questioned him in depth either

about what he really knows.

answering our calls.

this documentary,

he kept insisting in social media
on the tape's existence.

"I hereby want to declare
that all the actions I carried out

before administrative
and legal institutions

in order to find my daughter
and her two missing friends,

and later to establish the truth
and try the culprits

once their bodies were found,

I did by trying to avoid any notoriety
and personal prominence in the media.

I never agreed with the behavior of people
whose names I will not say,

but hopefully many people remember them,

who gave an excessive, sensationalist,
and even at times macabre treatment

to the events that caused me
so much suffering

and which I try to forget to no avail.

I can't understand how some people
can have such fantastical thoughts

about the responsibility of those crimes.

As far as I'm concerned, the content
of the sentence was illuminating

regarding Antonio Anglés
and Miguel Ricart's guilt,

and I've always shown
my conviction about it.

Of course, I wish Antonio Anglés
was found and convicted,

and that both of them served
their full 170-year sentences.

I've refused to address the media
many times

and that's how I'd like things to be,

but I do want to express my conviction
to attempt to silence the rumors

and avoid any actions
that would only seek prominence

That prompted the Civil Guard to take him
back to the platform.

I took a picture of him there.
I was there, more or less.

A bit further back.

And Ricart was more or less here,

with his arms crossed like this.

I told him, "Fernando, take the train
and see if you can get a picture of him."

I was sure that he wouldn't talk.

And they sat down next to Ricart.

He stood in front of us,
wrapped in his mask

and, much to our surprise, he asked us

how long we would harass and follow him.

And I actually told him:

"Miguel, you're being ridiculous.

Sit down, please, and we'll talk calmly."

He sat down in front of me

and we began to talk.

I told him that we didn't want
to snatch a picture from him,

we didn't want to hurt him
and we just wanted to talk.

He decided that when he didn't want
to answer something, he'd say, "Next."

And that's what we agreed.

I began to ask him
the first things that crossed my mind.

When he was interested, he replied.

When he wasn't interested, he didn't,
and sometimes he didn't do anything.

I sensed some kind of smirk
under his mask,

and there was a deep silence.

That crazy escape ended when Ricart
thought about leaving the train.

He didn't have a plan.

We arrived at the following station,
Linares-Baeza,

I checked that no one was around,
I checked the aisles and got off.

I made him a sign so that he got off, too.

As soon as he stepped on the platform,

the other journalists got off
from both sides of the train.

It was a dark night,

and there was a warehouse area
close to the platform.

I told him that maybe
he could sneak away that way

and that's what he did.

He left and I stayed on the platform.

I didn't take any more pictures of him.

He turned left, and then left again,

but it was a dead end,
so he felt cornered there.

That was when I arrived
and Fernando told me he had talked to him,

but the reporters from Ana Rosa's show
have him cornered.

I received some information
that there were some journalists

showing my picture around
and asking people if they knew that girl.

I got a couple of texts
from some classmates from high school

giving me their support and urging me
to tell them if I needed anything.

I felt that I had nothing to hide from.

My colleague Fernando Bustamante
at one point asked him:

"Do you regret what you did?"

And Ricart looked at him and said,
"What do you think?"

That was the closest to a hint of regret.

Actually, we put that on our headline.

He said it as if implying, "I'm not
a monster, of course I regret it."

The following day, Ricart was invited
to a live interview on a prime time show.

The announcement was so controversial
that it had to be canceled.

A few days later,
all trace of Miguel Ricart was lost.

His current location is unknown.

He never contacted his daughter Rosa.

what drives men to rape us,
