My feelings are not wrong.

I love you.

I have fallen in love...

with you.

(Please let me marry Gae Ttong again.)

Have I passed?

You have failed.

If you fail one more time,

you'll be out for good.

I failed?

Did you even hear what I said?

Wait, Boss!

How have you been?

Where were you?

I've been looking all over for you.

They won't have any sky lanterns left.

Let's go.

He lives in the courtesan house. Do you know him?

No, I don't.

Come take a look.

They've gone away again.

Why am I always left alone?

I'm glad he's not here.

My heart was about to explode.

But...

What should I...

do now?

I love you.

I have fallen in love...

with you.

Do you have a drink, by any chance?

Of course. I always have drinks available.

I'd like an answer in return for this drink.

An answer?

Do not marry the Second State Councillor's daughter.

Why are you so interested in her?

She's a greedy and arrogant woman,

and all men avoid her as a bride.

The king won't be enough for her either.

She's not greedy,

but a talented woman.

She's not arrogant, but merely cautious.

She's too good for the king as well.

It sounds as if you know her very well.

Of course, I do.

There's no woman I don't know in this land of Hanyang.

I'll pretend I believe you.

Which side do you prefer?

For the queen selection process.

A woman the king wants,

and a woman that suits him best.

Which side would be chosen?

No,

which side do you want to be chosen?

I think I've answered enough for the drink,

so if you're curious, ask the king yourself.

By the way,

that story about the dog and cat.

What happens in the end?

Well...

If neither side lets go,

they'll both die.

(Episode 11: Lies)

(The 11th Flower: White Morning-Glory)

Did you ask to see me?

Will twice be enough?

Yes, Your Majesty.

If you meet my daughter,

I will try my best to help you end the regency...

That would be a great honor,

but that is up to me.

(For a young king to grow up and end the regency)

If I can't achieve that much on my own,

how can I deserve to be a king?

That would be a great honor,

but that would come down to how my daughter does in the process.

If she can't achieve that much on her own,

she wouldn't deserve to lead the Internal Court.

However, I will only meet your daughter...

in private.

What is it that you wish for?

I love you.

I have fallen in love with you.

(Please let me marry Gae Ttong again.)

I want the royal wedding to take place as soon as possible.

I have one more condition.

Hey, you. Three-Month Temp.

I brought you to this place and made you pretty.

How dare you leave without me?

We call people like you ungrateful.

Where's Matchmaker Ma?

Well, he went out to prepare the wedding for Lord Lee's family.

We're absolutely swamped right now, and he didn't have to go there.

Why did he volunteer to do that anyway?

If he doesn't like me, he can just say so.

He doesn't have to run away.

We should have done this much earlier.

We don't have to go so far with our weak-hearted King.

He's already heartbroken over losing the girl who was so dear to him.

You're too naive.

The investigation for the murder of the Crown Prince isn't over yet.

If he begins to get suspicious of us...

because we let him do as he pleases,

do you think he will remain as the same weak-hearted King?

What about the young ladies for the selection?

The ones who passed the initial screening will come in tomorrow.

I will choose who gets to sit next to His Majesty,

so don't worry about it.

Gosh, whatever.

If my teacher doesn't show up without notice, why should I study?

I shouldn't have said that.

I shouldn't have.

Is something wrong?

No.

Open your book. I'll be your temporary teacher as of today.

Pardon? What about Matchmaker Ma?

He said he'll be busy for a while.

Or maybe he's just pretending.

All rise for His Majesty.

Your Majesty, let me take off your night garment.

I wish to be alone.

You may all leave.

- But the Chief State Councillor... - Quiet! You're told to leave.

Yes, Your Majesty.

What's your other condition?

I have to go out of the palace tonight.

As you know, I am unable to move around freely.

May I ask you why?

I left...

something very precious outside of the palace.

I will have it prepared.

Did you make any progress on my brother's case?

I don't have anything in particular to report on.

But if you give me some more time, I will make sure I find the culprit.

A eunuch who's under my orders will escort you out of the palace...

at the back gate of Jeongbang.

It's about time he came.

I'll make sure he gives me an answer tonight.

Three-Month Temp!

Gosh, that little man is calling me like that again.

It's not Three-Month Temp! I'm Yun Su Yeon!

My gosh. Can you just get used to that already?

A young lady of a noble family...

should not raise her voice that she is heard beyond the walls.

I told her that very often.

I love you.

Have I passed?

It's a fail.

Your three words...

made my heart race so much that I can't even look at you.

So I'm a failure as a matchmaker.

You always come by without any notice.

Let's say that you're showing me a favor...

as a regular customer.

He left something precious with Flower Crew?

To the Chief State Councillor's son?

I told you to look into the Flower Crew.

It's a crew of male matchmakers...

that began to rise to fame about three years ago.

The informant said the details are all written down.

What in the world...

did His Majesty leave in such a place?

Are you trying to stay here again?

I don't have any rooms left.

Kim Soo...

Your Majesty.

It has been a while.

How did you come here?

Can you lead us to somewhere quiet?

You wish to meet the daughter of the Second State Councillor?

How can you proceed with something so important without telling me?

I came to tell you right now.

How is Gae Ttong doing?

She must have forgotten about you already.

She's doing perfectly fine.

I'm glad.

Anyway, you should probably be prepared.

She has such great teachers...

so there are a few families who are willing to marry her.

If there are such families, please do let me know.

What will you do?

Since they dared to covet the King's woman,

I'll have them torn to pieces and their families exterminated.

I'm just joking.

Why should I be worried?

I have such a faithful matchmaker working for me.

Anyway,

we cannot find anyone who can replace you immediately.

You have to break off the promise.

I'll do that.

I was bored anyway, and this sounds exciting.

But even if you change your mind, you can't take it back.

That won't happen.

I will not...

give up Gae Ttong under any circumstances.

So let other men who propose to Gae Ttong know...

that they will have to be ready for some grave consequences...

if they wish to take Gae Ttong from me.

You told me that both the cat and the dog will die...

when the dog comes to fancy the cat.

What on earth are you thinking?

You should be running far away if anything.

Hence, I should put my life on the line.

The dog wouldn't have started...

fancying the cat without such determination.

Name one thing that you think has the greatest depth.

Tell me.

From what I know,

King Yeongjo asked Queen Jeongsun the same question,

and I agree with Queen Jeongsun.

I also think that the human heart has the greatest depth.

Good. You are all dismissed.

It looks like you need to rush back to the palace.

- Hurray! - Hurray!

- Hurray! - Hurray!

The Provincial Army Commander of the Western Gyeongsang Province,

Kim Moon Seok,

vanquished the Japanese invaders in Yupo with only 20 soldiers...

and saved Ulsan.

You vanquished...

over 100 Japanese invaders with only 20 soldiers.

To praise your meritorious achievement, I would like to...

reward you with a horse and wine.

He does not deserve a reward, Your Majesty.

Instead of being rewarded,

he should be held accountable...

for the rebellion so that we can restore discipline in the military.

If we cannot distinguish between who deserves to be rewarded or punished,

who would be willing to fight for this country?

Your Majesty.

I trust that he deserves a big reward.

No.

The Chief State Councillor is right.

I should punish him instead of rewarding him.

Provincial Army Commander Kim Moon Seok shall listen.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Disorder reigns in the royal court, and I am still weak.

Thus, I need you.

I understand that it will take a toll on you,

but I would like to reappoint you as the Commander of the Royal Guard.

That is the punishment I am giving you.

Your Majesty.

I, Kim Moon Seok,

will obey Your Majesty's order.

His Majesty...

is blessed with such a loyal subject.

Only time will tell if he is truly loyal,

or if he will end up turning his coat.

Chief State Councillor, even a tiger that looks docile...

will bite its master when it is starving.

Be careful.

And I'd like to advise you not to try too hard.

The decision on the King's bride-to-be has already been made.

Why waste your time and energy?

Don't be so sure. Who knows?

His Majesty might already have someone in mind.

Well, get back safely then.

That lowborn punk.

How dare he.

Three-Month Temp, what are you doing in Hoon's room?

I need to catch someone.

Catch someone? Who?

Just go on your way.

Chapter One of Gae Ttong's Rules.

"Gae Ttong never gives up."

Let's see who the winner is, Mr. Matchmaker.

She's so weird.

What's with her?

You've gotten even better at this.

Since mine looks better,

you'll have to grant me a wish.

Sure, please tell me what it is.

How about...

you enjoy a glass of wine with your son today?

Father.

Father.

Wine tastes best when I'm having it with you.

I heard about what happened while I was away.

I am proud of you for getting through it all.

This contains all the records of the missing war funds.

Can we fight the Chief State Councillor with this?

It is now time for you to exercise your power.

I will get ready.

Are you all right?

I have to say, you look very weary.

I'm fine. After all, I now have you by my side, Father.

Now,

I just need to bring Gae Ttong here.

Stone Head.

You always cause trouble with your head, don't you?

What should I do with you?

Did you just hit me?

Hit... What are you talking about?

Your lips are quivering, which means you're lying.

Wipe that saliva off your mouth.

How will you become a noble lady if you're so filthy?

Where do you think you're going?

Resume your lessons for me.

Didn't you hear from Do Joon?

I have at least three marriages to take care of right now.

But I miss you.

I've realized my feelings for you unexpectedly,

and I won't pressure you.

So...

please don't run away.

Please don't go anywhere...

and stay by my side.

Your Highness.

The Section Chief in the Ministry of War...

has been arrested.

Do you mean Joon Hyun?

The Ministry of War's Section Chief, Yun Joon Hyun...

not only used his authority to bribe officials...

but used emergency supplies and funds belonging to the country...

for his own personal greed.

This is a grave matter that threatens the country's safety,

so his crime must be brought to light,

and he must be punished.

Your Majesty.

The Section Chief of the Ministry of War, Yun Joon Hyun...

is my wife's nephew and The Dowager Queen's younger brother.

He committed this crime due to my negligence,

- so I shall take charge of... - I do not agree.

Why do you think the Section Chief committed such an illegal act?

That won't be a fair investigation.

The Second State Councillor is right.

If the Chief State Councillor investigates this case,

it won't be considered fair.

So the Second State Councillor shall take charge...

and bring his sins to light.

Yes, Your Majesty.

I shall follow your command.

Your Highness.

Your Highness.

- You should regain your energy... - Now is not the time for that!

How could you just sit back and do nothing?

Just pretend you didn't hear about this.

His Majesty is trying to drag us down with this.

Do you think Joon Hyun is the only one...

to get his hands on those supplies?

The stolen arrowhead and the private army...

that killed the Crown Prince...

started with the Section Chief's supplies and funds as well.

I raised him since he was a kid, and he's like a son to me.

Please do something, Uncle.

His Majesty has accepted your request.

On the month of Imsin, day of Gyeyu.

Since there are eyes watching, you have exactly 2 hours, until 9pm.

(From 7pm to 9pm)

Thank you.

I thought you'd be happy.

You look like you're being sold as a slave.

You're mistaken. I'll make preparations then.

Ji Hwa.

This is the last time I'll let you threaten me.

Didn't you say you hated being born as a woman?

What can you do about it? You've been born that way.

I'll provide you with the biggest shade in this land of Joseon.

I'll decide who my shade will be.

Do not ruin our family's fate,

my lovely daughter.

[VIU Ver] jTBC E11 'Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency' "Lies" -♥ Ruo Xi ♥-

So what are you saying?

Kim Soo, that blacksmith from the countryside...

even has a woman to wed,

but Joon will go meet that woman instead,

and Kim Soo will meet Three-Month Temp?

Has he lost his mind?

I would watch my mouth if I were you.

So what if he's an aristocrat? What can he do?

I'm Ko Young Soo.

I'm glad he doesn't have any family to be exterminated.

If something goes wrong, remember to say that...

Flower Crew has nothing to do with it whatsoever.

What are you talking about?

Where are you going this time?

Why do they always leave me behind?

Where are they going?

I heard you're going to meet Kim Soo.

Soo?

There's no way you used all that money...

just to visit courtesan houses.

Where did you spend the rest of it?

Did you buy an arrowhead with that money by any chance?

This seems like enough, so you should stop the act now.

You should also think of the consequences.

I advise you to worry about yourself first.

The man who stole an arrowhead last time...

died in prison without anyone knowing about it.

Do you think I'm the same as those kinds of lowly thugs?

I changed the history of Joseon with these hands.

Do you really want me to go?

Why are you asking me that?

Do you feel this?

Isn't it beating rapidly?

Didn't you tell me that...

this place is fair for everyone?

Right now, I'm not Yun Su Yeon...

nor Soo's fiancee.

I am...

just a woman who likes you.

So...

please be fair and give me an answer right now.

Your heart is also beating so rapidly.

You aren't my teacher...

or a son from a prestigious family.

You're just a man who likes a woman.

Do you...

really want me to go?

It's to protect the newbie from your father...

that you're working on this marriage again, right?

I will not give up Gae Ttong under any circumstances.

What now?

You said you'll live as Gae Ttong for your brother's sake.

Then you wanted to change...

your social status to be with Kim Soo.

And...

now you love me?

It's not like that.

My brother was...

How am I supposed to believe you?

I told you...

that I only trust what I see.

You change your mind ever so easily.

Is that truly how you feel?

You really are a man who doesn't have a heart.

It was my mistake, Mr. Matchmaker.

Gae Ttong.

Hey, Soo.

I thought you might like this, so I picked it from the palace...

I mean, from the pond right next to the palace.

Thank you.

You're still here?

Don't worry about her. You can go.

I will come for you in two hours.

I will take her home too.

Gae Ttong.

What do you think about the flowers?

They're pretty.

Let's go.

You looked as if you wouldn't go just now.

Why are you here?

Someone else is supposed to stand there. You should go.

I think that someone is me.

Excuse me.

You wanted to see me, didn't you?

I didn't say that.

I am Lee Soo.

The man you're looking for, who sits at the top of this country.

That can't be true.

Where do you think all the information that you got...

came from?

I know you're not interested in the civil service examination.

It's not that I'm not interested.

I can't take it.

His name is Soo.

As you may know, his name means "water".

He was born on the year of Jeongyu,

month of Eulsa, and day of Gihae.

He's turned 23 this year.

I'm not surprised. Whether it's night or day,

all you do is collect information at courtesan houses.

What would you know?

Your Majesty.

Please forgive me for how disrespectful I was to you.

In that case,

I am thinking of punishing you.

Why are we here?

You said you are a noble being from birth,

so I wanted to check and see if it's true.

Take a seat.

You must knead it well to make such noble porcelain.

I'll have to make it again.

It doesn't matter if it's a bit ruined.

This is noble enough as is.

What's important isn't how you are born.

One's fate changes...

according to what it holds inside.

Do not hate it for being ugly.

Will you have it hold something noble?

This is...

my answer.

I think I could use more of your answer.

Soo.

I have something to tell you.

- Soo. - Isn't this just like the old days?

Back when we used to live in Bukjeong Village.

Soo, the thing is...

I don't know what it's about, but just tell me another time.

I don't have much time. I have to go back soon.

It can't wait. I have to tell you now.

Soo, our marriage...

Wait.

Soo, just a moment.

I'll hear it next time.

Not today. Tell me next time I see you.

I don't have time today, Gae Ttong.

What king has all this time to wander about idly?

He should look after the people instead of being out and about.

Am I not the one you were waiting for?

You look like a petty-minded man waiting for his wife who eloped.

Look at yourself. You look like a kid who has everything...

but is terrified of losing what he has.

I will lose it soon.

I hear the Dowager Queen has already chosen the King's bride-to-be.

If both the newbie and Lady Kang don't make it,

what are we going to do?

I have to say, you sound quite happy about it.

No, of course not.

By the way, are you sure we can keep it from Gae Ttong?

If she finds out that Kim Soo is the King...

Guys.

Hey, what did you just say?

That punk, Kim Soo...

I mean, that man is the King?

Why have you kept it from me all this time?

We're so doomed.

The Chief State Councillor is here.

Chief State Councillor.

What brings you to my chambers at this late hour?

Where did Your Majesty go at this late hour?

I cannot tell you as I was carrying out...

an undercover inspection.

I will think of it as a negligible act of deviation...

by a young king who misses his life outside of the palace.

I understand.

However,

the Dowager Queen is extremely distressed these days...

because of what Section Chief Yun did.

But that is also a small mistake made by that foolish man,

- so please... - Because of him,

many of our soldiers died due to food shortages during the war.

Will you...

still call it "a small mistake" of a single section chief?

That girl, Gae Ttong...

Don't you want to know how she is doing?

I hope she is doing well.

Chief State Councillor.

If you are that curious,

why don't you look for her?

If you threaten any of my people one more time,

it will make me truly want to become a great king.

Do you understand?

What is going on with that girl, Gae Ttong?

I am trying to track her down,

but it seems like someone is fooling us.

I think the King is pulling the strings himself.

I will let you take extra soldiers, so you must...

find that girl before the King does and bring her to me at all costs.

Understood, my lord.

His Majesty wishes to join hands with us.

This is the perfect time for it due to the turmoil caused...

by Section Chief Yun.

You all should prepare to submit a petition.

Do not hate it for being ugly.

Will you have it hold something noble?

Gae Ttong!

Gae Ttong!

- Gae Ttong! - Gosh, you're doing this again.

- Gae Ttong. - My goodness.

- I told you she's not Gae Ttong. - Gae Ttong!

- Her name is not Gae Ttong! - Gae Ttong!

He's at it again.

My apologies.

He does that to every young girl he sees because of his dead sister.

This way, please.

Here you go.

Just for 15 minutes, okay?

If my master finds out, I'll get in huge trouble.

Thank you.

Kang.

I made this meal for your birthday.

Ta-da.

Try it.

You're a nice person.

Yes.

You are a nice person too.

What did you call me here for?

I called you to tell you that...

His Majesty expresses his gratitude...

for protecting something very precious.

I don't know what you're talking about.

Why don't you just introduce His Majesty to me instead?

Since the queen selection process is the most important matter.

I'd like to expand my connections through you with this opportunity.

If the Chief State Councillor finds out you met with the king,

do you think he'll stay still?

So, tell me.

Which side are you on?

Are you on your father's side or the king's side?

I'm on my client's side.

Be careful.

The Chief State Councillor won't make exceptions even for his son.

As far as I know, the Chief State Councillor...

doesn't have a son.

Kang.

I promise...

to become a lady,

and come back for you.

I want to become a lady.

Can you make me...

a lady from a noble family?

Why?

There is...

someone I must meet.

Was the person you wanted to meet...

your brother?

Eat slowly.

Your Highness, we must expedite the king's wedding...

and continue the royal line...

to stabilize the royal family once again.

- Please hurry, Your Highness. - Please hurry, Your Highness.

The Second State Councillor is right.

In accordance with the request of the officials,

please expedite the queen selection process.

Since the king is already 23 years old,

I will proceed with offering bride candidates.

Forbid all girls from the age of 15 to 25 from getting married.

- Yes, Your Highness. - Yes, Your Highness.

When did you come?

Did you want to become a noble lady...

because of your brother living in the Second State Councillor's home?

How did you know that?

Why didn't you tell me?

Why didn't you tell me all this time?

Why not?

Because I liked you too much.

I didn't want to leave.

Because if I found my brother,

I was afraid you'd make me leave.

I'm already a burden to you,

and if I asked you to take care of my brother as well,

that would be too much for you to handle.

I like you so much,

and I want to see you.

I want to be with you longer.

That's why I didn't want to become a burden to you.

How could you startle me like that?

Someone once told me...

being startled stops hiccups.

(Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency)

About what happened yesterday.

It was my mistake.

I'm going to do what my heart tells me.

Soo, I have something to tell you.

You promised me.

Marriage has been officially prohibited.

What will you do with Gae Ttong?

Whomever she may be,

I will reveal her identity to the whole world.

I will arrest him immediately.

When all the noble ladies gather for the queen selection process,

prove that you're qualified.

You still didn't tell her about the king?

Gae Ttong, I have something to say.
