for the penultimate leg of the greatest race on earth.

And they'll depart in the order they arrived at the last pit stop.

We've been to Thailand before. We absolutely love it.

We love the tuk tuks, we love the energy, we love the people.

We're stoked.

With its picture-postcard beaches,

chaotic cities

and more than 35,000 temples,

Thailand is a country of quirks and contrasts.

It's also illegal to leave your house

without wearing your underwear.

So let's hope none of the teams are running low.

Obviously, winning eight legs

is a great achievement for the both of us.

But our initial goal for the start of the race

was to make the top three.

So we haven't made it yet.

So we've just got to make sure we keep going.

To be fair, when you get to the top four, everyone's really good.

You can't really discount anyone because they've all had their wins

and been up the top the whole time. Yep.

This is like the best odds that we'll ever have in our lifetime.

U-turn ahead.

A U-turn can definitely change the race.

It forces the teams to do both detour challenges.

And being this late in the game

these detours are just getting harder and harder.

There's a U-turn coming up, babe. That's unreal.

That is huge.

Strategy is going to be so critical moving forward.

And everyone's... You know, the gloves are gonna come off.

Literally had all the odds against us.

We were U-turned in the previous leg.

Just the fact that all the other teams remaining

that they would do what they could to vote for Tim and Rod.

This leg was probably one of the most nerve wracking for us.

We were starting the day last.

Quick, quick, quick, quick. We've gotta go.

We were freaking out. We were scared.

We've gotten the U-turn before.

But Joey and Viv and Jasmin and Jerome, to pick us again,

that would be absolute buffoonery at its best.

We're going to Khlong Toei markets

and we're looking for stall AA15 and AA16

where Tom and I have to eat three treats,

which I have a wild guess that they're not going to be treats.

They're gonna be something disgusting.

I have no idea where they got that idea from.

Hidden away deep in Khlong Toei, Bangkok's largest fresh food markets,

lies a stall that serves an authentic Thai delicacy, century eggs.

Made from duck chicken or quail eggs,

these treats are preserved for weeks until they turn black, gooey

and super salty.

Our teams will need to eat three of them to receive their next clue.

I've never been to Bangkok and I've been to Thailand.

So very excited to be coming here. It was very built up.

High rises, actually pretty nice architecture.

This was not what I expected my Thailand trip to be like.

I finished, I got three down.

For me personally, it wasn't the smell that did it for me.

I think it was just the texture.

And when you bit into it, it exploded in your mouth.

And it was this gooey, yolky blacky stuff.

Water or Wheels?

A detour is a choice between two tasks,

each with their own unique challenges.

Teams that choose "Water" must memorise 12 riverside landmarks

as they float along the iconic river here.

And once they place them successfully on a map

and they're judged correct, they'll receive their next clue.

In "Wheels", teams test out their mechanics skills

with one of Bangkok's most iconic modes of transport, the tuk tuk.

From an empty shell, they'll face the tricky task

of rebuilding their very own three-wheeled wonder

before pimping it out to receive their next clue.

And remember, at the detour,

one team will find out that they've been U-turned,

forcing them to complete both tasks.

Getting to the market was a disaster.

I knew there's going to be a problem.

So, we've got to knock back three of these each.

It's just like a boiled egg in the morning.

It was just the most foul thing

you ever have... yeah, ever put in my mouth ever.

They were salty, really slimy. The yolk part was gooey.

I can't believe we completely overshot this area.

With all teams now on their way to the detours,

one of them is about to be U-turned and forced to complete both tasks.

We chose the water challenge,

which is to correctly identify 12 landmarks

while going down the river, remember them and then place them on the map.

Oh, here we go.

We divvied out six landmarks each.

And then when we got on the water

we both knew all the landmarks we were looking for

and we could get it done and get out of there.

I think Tyler and I have such a high success rate at detours

because we have lived and travelled with each other.

We literally felt like two mechanics walking into the shop.

All these tuk tuks that were just ripped to shreds.

They didn't have any tyres on them. All the lights were taken off them.

We have never felt straighter. It was insane.

We've always loved Thailand. We've loved the tuk tuks.

So we thought, "How cool is this?

over the course of this Amazing Race journey,

For us to have a chance, we had to remove the biggest threat.

We had to keep in mind why we came to The Amazing Race,

why we left our son at home for a whole month, it's because of him.

We wanted to win this race for him.

We just had to smash out the tuk tuk challenge

and get out of there.

To get their next clue,

teams will travel to a community centre to help out

and fit three patients with a set of dentures.

Giving them their glow is a complicated and fiddly technique

using gold leaf.

This active route marker requires both team members to shine

by covering Ganesh, the God of Success, in a layer of gold.

Once they do that, all they gotta do is take him to me at the pit stop.

After seeing Tom and Tyler arrive

a part of us wasn't surprised that they managed to pull through.

They are such a strong team that even though we U-turned them,

they somehow managed to come out third.

There was no time to panic, it was just concentrate.

Looks like this is going to be a pretty tedious exercise.

We aren't helping anyone.

It was sweet victory for us knowing we'd clawed our way back up to third.

But we had no idea how far away Jasmin and Jerome were.

We understand it's a game.

If you want to U-turn us, that's fine, just tell us.

Tom and Tyler seemed really stressed and frustrated at this point,

which is fair enough because we had U-turned them.
