=The Journey of Legend=

=Episode 16=

You're quite cunning.

Have you ever guessed when you'll die?

I'm not bickering with you.

If you want a quick death, tell me what I want to know.

I don't have time for this.

You're dying.

Hand over the Hero Token if you know what's good for you.

Then I might give you a clean death.

Would you dare kill me?

Xueyu.

Yiren, where's Master Qu and the others?

Xueyu, Qu Hanshan is actually the Sword King.

Qiushui...

Xiaoyi.

Qiushui...

What exactly happened?

To protect us from Qu Hanshan's deception,

Qiushui risked his life.

He was ambushed.

How could this happen?

Where is Qiushui now?

Xueyu.

I'll find him. I can heal him!

Xueyu, don't be rash.

Qiushui warned us to return to Sword Retreat immediately.

We can't let him do it all in vain.

That's right. This isn't the time for grief.

Kaiyan is finding the way

with Qiushui's force map.

We depart when he returns.

Yiren's right. We leave at once.

There can be no more delay.

What about Qiushui?

Kaiyan's back.

No, it's an armed group!

Qu Hanshan's people! Get ready to fight!

Stop playing hero.

The Hero Token was never meant for you.

Why do you keep it?

The Hero Token isn't mine,

but you'll never get it.

You're defiant.

Perhaps you need more fasting time.

(I already accepted death at the Forest of Justice.)

(But why...?)

(Now I must stall him)

(to buy time for Yiren's return to Huanhua.)

(It might alter the story's direction.)

Unseal my acupoints if you fear my starvation.

Giving in so fast? I doubt your sincerity.

Suit yourself.

The Hero Token's worthless to me anyway.

Is everyone unharmed?

Xiaoyi!

Are you hurt?

Are you alright?

I'm fine, Xueyu.

No meridian damage.

Good.

Qu Hanshan set an ambush here.

Power Gang must have people nearby.

We can't stay.

Yiren! Xueyu!

Disaster!

What happened?

The Power Gang knows Qiushui stole their map.

They changed ambush positions.

Rocks blocked our fastest escape route.

Some of our men were ambushed.

Our way is blocked, and enemies are behind us.

What should we do?

In that case,

we have to divert to Diancang Sect.

Father has ties with Diancang Sect.

Taking a detour northwest could avoid Qu Hanshan's pursuit.

Hang in there, everyone.

We head northwest to Diancang Sect now!

- Yes. - Yes.

Are you done?

Where's the Hero Token?

What's the rush?

You're good at cooking.

Why aren't you eating?

I thought you were clever,

but you're actually a prat.

Can't you tell why I don't eat?

You greedy fool.

The meat's poisoned. I know.

When I schemed against Qu Hanshan,

I never planned to survive.

Yet you shocked me.

Were you out of your mind?

You actually took me here.

You know what? Poisons don't matter anymore.

This is Qijue Poison.

If you play any tricks,

I'll activate it to torment you,

devouring your meridians.

In fact, Madam Wu never told me where the Hero Token is.

Before parting ways with Madam Wu, she asked me

to find Yan Kuangtu's relatives. That's her final wish.

That's all.

I've told you everything I know.

You're so dead!

Thanks for the food.

What can I do for you?

Where's the Snake King?

He's gone to Diancang Sect.

Tail them closely.

Should I help them with the Marching Pill...?

No. Follow and watch Snake King

in case he becomes Qu Hanshan's lapdog like Purple Phoenix did.

Understood.

I had them investigate the Marching Pills.

If they overstep, consider it a rebellion.

You've been tormented for 12 hours.

You're tougher than I expected.

Liu Suifeng, if I get the chance,

I will kill you.

Can you, you loser?

You've lost all martial skills and are poisoned.

Even gods couldn't save you now.

Rest assured, I'll definitely kill you.

You wish.

Liu Suifeng! Come out here right now!

I thought someone was here to save that loser.

Turns out it's you.

I know you have Xiao Qiushui.

So what?

Hand him over, and I'll let it go.

Let it go? What about the spies you planted?

You turned Purple Phoenix and Kang Chuyu against me.

I haven't come for you yet.

Seems we'll never see eye to eye.

Then don't blame me for taking him by force.

Listen, the item our gang leader wants is on Xiao Qiushui!

Are you trying to let him go?

Liu Suifeng, do you think Xiao Qiushui will stay in there and do nothing?

Xilou, have some water.

Any movement from Qiushui?

I'm not thirsty.

You drink it.

You haven't had a drop of water in a full day.

Meditation alone won't help.

Our family is now in trouble.

Though men unite against our foes,

we're still trapped in this dire situation.

If reinforcements don't arrive,

I will give my life

to lead our disciples to make a last stand.

Huishan, I'll leave Xiangfeng and the others to you.

Don't sound so defeatist.

Qiushui went for help.

He's clever. He'll return with good news.

Qiushui.

Of all my children, you're the brightest.

I know you won't disappoint me.

Never.

Then why never praise him openly?

You always scold him instead.

Our family has

more than our three children.

Our disciples are our children too.

They all embody our family's future.

If we protect them successfully,

our sect's legacy will remain secure.

Now drink some water.

You drink. Come on.

So refreshing. Here.

Stop crying.

(Diancang Sect)

(Diancang Sect)

We're done with Diancang Sect here.

Liu Suifeng can't talk his way out of this.

I deliberately left survivors.

Master Liu's crime of massacring sects at will

is now confirmed.

Throughout history,

human hearts prove most poisonous.

Snake...

Snake...

Snake...

It's Liu Suifeng!

Diancang Sect...

He is from Diancang Sect!

Yiren, this snake venom's unusual.

The Snake King did this.

Diancang Sect's in trouble.

Mr. Zuoqiu, Mr. Deng,

Diancang Sect lies ten li ahead.

Could you take backroads to investigate?

Aid any survivors you find.

Understood, Yiren.

Stay safe. Farewell.

- We'll go too. - Okay.

(Diancang Sect)

The Snake King did it.

Watch out!

Let me check.

Be careful! The snake's blood is poisonous.

How dare you hurt my snake?

You reckless fools!

Power Gang.

Since we've met here, I'll kill you.

Shinian!

Interesting.

You want to trap me with this formation?

Let's see whether your formation or my snakes are mightier.

Yiren, someone is coming.

(Zu Jindian, Power Gang's Fire King)

We have bad luck today.

Who's out in this wilderness?

(Four Punks: Yuwen Dong,) We found four corpses yesterday.

(Chang Wuqi, Meng Donglin, Jin Beiwang) T-That was yesterday.

Look, it's something white.

A human!

It's a person.

- Go! - Great!

We're getting rich!

No pulse. Easy money.

Put him in the bag.

- Come on! - Easy money.

He's alive.

What did you do? He's alive!

You broke the rule!

We only profit from corpses.

How'd you revive him?

- Money's gone if he's alive! - Exactly!

I...

Toss him into the river!

Dump him!

Let go. My leg hurts.

Young heroes,

since you saved my life,

why kill me now?

- You... - Shut up!

We only collect corpses. Never saved lives.

True. Our job is to collect dead bodies.

You died, then came back.

- Bad luck! - Bad luck!

Stop talking to him.

Drown him before anyone notices.

He'll die within an hour.

Then we claim his body.

Good idea.

Ouch!

Buddies, listen to me.

A quick word!

Here's the thing.

Think it over.

Profiting from the living is easier than doing it from the dead, right?

Impossible!

Impossible!

The officials promised us.

They pay us 500 copper coins per corpse.

Wait, 100...

If you're alive, no reward.

Right. No pay.

I'll pay you myself.

Who do you think you are?

Yeah, why trust you?

- Exactly! - Exactly!

Why should we?

Huanhua's house isn't far.

Escort me there, and you'll see.

H-Huanhua?

Huanhua Sect?

Jinzhong's Huanhua Sect!

Given his age,

could he be Xiao Qiushui?

Xiao Qiushui?

- Xiao Qiushui! - Xiao Qiushui!

I...

Xiao Qiushui? You're mistaken.

I'm not him.

- Your men killed the Three Heroes! - True!

He's Xiao Qiushui!

- H-he is. - Exactly!

- Him! - His men killed the Three Heroes!

We're friends of the Three Heroes.

Their killers are our enemy!

- True! Kill him! - Kill!

Wait, listen!

Guys, what are you talking about?

I swear I'm not Xiao Qiushui!

How could I kill your friends?

I don't know martial arts.

He denies it.

Then he's not Xiao Qiushui.

Wait! Why will he lead us to the Huanhua Sect

and promise rewards?

Sure, why?

He's Xiao Qiushui!

(Oh no! The Three Heroes are characters in the book.)

(Xiao Qiushui killed them at the story's beginning.)

(According to the timeline,)

(I hadn't even become Xiao Qiushui then!)

- Xiao Qiushui! - Kill him.

- Kill him! - Yes! Kill him!

I saved him, then killed him.

So, did we save him or kill him?

Enough with your nonsense.

I remember! I remember now!

W-What did you just say?

Three...

Three Heroes.

Yes, the Three Heroes.

The Three Heroes were all good martial artists,

while I'm mediocre.

So, how could I possibly defeat them?

I-I don't believe him.

- Neither do I. - You're lying!

Think about it! How many of the Three Heroes?

- Three! - Three men!

Three against one!

How could they possibly lose to me?

Moreover, how many of you?

Four! More people mean greater strength.

You must unite to venture, right?

- Makes sense. - Makes sense.

- No sense! - Why doesn't it?

Can we defeat the Three Heroes?

If we can't even beat the Three Heroes,

how can we defeat him?

So, is strength in numbers or not?

The more, the better!

Come on.

Kill him, anyway.

I'm done talking with you.

This is too complicated.

Let me explain.

I wasn't even in this world when the Three Heroes died!

And I'm not Xiao Qiushui!

Kill me? What's wrong with you?

Why are you all so stubborn?

- Wrong! - One year ago...

The Three Heroes died a year ago.

He said he hadn't come back then.

Does he look one year old?

(Such bad luck!)

Stop wasting words on him!

Keep listening, and we'll all be fooled!

Yes! He'll deceive us all!

- Buddy. - Buddy.

- Kill him now! - Kill him now!

Go kill him!

What are you doing? Stay back!

- Kill him! - Wait!

Xiao Qiushui's men killed the Three Heroes

with blades, swords, and hidden weapons.

How should we kill him to avenge the Three Heroes?

- So annoying. - How to kill?

Let's chop off his two hands and two feet.

Four pieces for four of us. Perfect revenge.

Dismember him!

Don't touch him!

Yiren!

Xueyu, watch out!

(Master Liu is foresighted.)

(Snake King not only rebels but also colludes with Fire King.)

(They seem determined to turn to Qu Hanshan.)

Xueyu!

Yiren, retreat now!

I'll cover the retreat!

Shinian, protect Yiren!

Young sect leader, go now!

Shinian!

Run, Yiren!

- Go now! - Move!

Come at me if you dare!

Red Phoenix! Why turn against us?

Master Liu sent you to Diancang Sect,

but you wiped them out without orders!

Now you collude with Sword King.

You deserve death.

Then I'll grant your death wish!

(Xiao Qiushui? He's alive?)

Young sect leader, we should be safe here.

I spent years training Shinian.

Now, when people died for our family,

I couldn't even collect their corpses.

My family always did good deeds,

yet a disaster is about to bring us to ruin.

Why?

Why?

We've already lost Qiushui.

Is my family doomed?

Yiren.

What did you just say?

We've lost Qiushui?

Wait, Qiushui...

Isn't he recovering at the branch?

How could he die?

I must have misheard, right?

I misheard.

Did I, Yiren?

Why didn't you tell me?

Xueyu, we didn't mean to keep it from you.

Qiushui wanted to prevent us from being deceived again.

That's why he risked his life to expose the Sword King.

Even in his last moments, Qiushui urged us to return immediately.

That was his final wish.

Yiren, we can't let Qiushui die in vain.

Now our parents' lives hang by a thread.

Kaiyan is missing.

The fate of our family rests on our shoulders.

You must pull yourself together.

It hurts!

- Are you okay? - It hurts!

- Liu Suifeng! - Liu Suifeng!

Liu Suifeng!

We're Heavenly King Zhu's men.

- Yeah! - Aren't you afraid of us?

Stop playing dead.

You still can talk with your mouth.

You monster!

Just kill me already.

Exactly!

Fine, after three incense sticks are burnt out,

give me what I want, or I'll break all their limbs.

There are four of us, yet you lit three sticks?

Doesn't that leave one extra?

- Yeah. - That's right!

- Buddy. - Buddy.

- Ow! - You...

- I... - Liu Suifeng!

Now it's settled then.

Why not just break his limbs

to force him to talk?

- Yeah, break his! - Right!

You're so ruthless. Are you even human?

Mr. Xiao, you can't see them suffer.

As you predicted,

Snake King wiped out Diancang Sect and framed you.

He also colluded with Zu Jindian, who follows the Sword King.

Xiao Yiren rushed back to Sword Retreat with Shinian.

They encountered Snake King and Fire King.

Two of the Shinian members died in the fight.

What about the traitor Snake King?

I fought three alone and killed one of them.

But they didn't gain any advantage.
