[1990s; Country M in Southeast Asia]

Xiao!

Have you missed me?

Yuan, the quantity isn't right.

Xiao, we had a deal before.

The numbers are very different now.

What exactly are you trying to do?

I want my share of the goods increased by 50% this year!

Are you crazy?

You think we'd give you 50% just because you're asking?

Harmony brings prosperity!

Xiao, if you think it should be 50%,

then 50% it is!

I have no objections.

You're the smart one here.

Move.

Why is there another ambush?

Yuan.

This firepower must be from government forces.

Let's go.

Fall back!

S-suitcase.

I know the rules!

From now on, we'll split the money from the goods in this line 50-50!

That's the old rule.

Given all the effort I've put in,

I naturally deserve a larger share.

40-60.

You get 40, and I get 60.

I like this ratio.

60 is an auspicious number.

Okay!

We'll all follow the General's rule!

Flank from both sides

and cover them with firepower.

Don't let a single drug dealer escape.

- Yes, sir! - Yes, sir!

Go. Let's go.

They're taking all the profits.

What's left for us?

You're still thinking too small.

With the General's supply of goods,

once we return to the country as wealthy overseas Chinese businessmen,

enormous fortune

will come rolling in.

[Unrelenting Drug Interdiction]

[Three years later]

[Gucheng County]

[Public Security]

[Meeting Room]

The batch of drugs that appeared in our county

[Drugs discovered on 11/9]

[Source of the drugs]

Highly matches those originating from the Golden Triangle.

It's very likely that the drug dealers from the Golden Triangle

[Case Analysis]

Have sneaked into our county.

Since our county lies at the intersection of three provinces,

with a large transient population

and significant challenges in maintaining public order,

our intelligence on those drug dealers is currently limited.

Therefore, tonight's operation is especially critical!

[Chen Daobin; Chief of the Gucheng County Public Security Bureau]

Chen Zhongyi.

[Chen Zhongyi; Captain of the Narcotics Squad of the Gucheng County Public Security Bureau]

Cheng Ying.

[Cheng Ying; Narcotics Officer at the Gucheng County Public Security Bureau]

You two lead the Narcotics Control Brigade for initial reconnaissance.

[Case Analysis]

Li Shiwen.

You lead the SWAT team to surround the transaction site.

We must catch both parties involved in the trade!

[Case Analysis]

- Yes, sir! - Yes, sir!

There are no goods.

What are you mumbling about?

Speak up!

The goods.

They are not in it.

What do you mean by that?

We've been on the streets for so long,

and you're trying to double-cross me?

Sir...

Step, step aside.

He is new here.

Haven't seen much of the world yet.

Please don't mind.

See? They're all here.

Same quality as before.

We run the business with integrity.

Integrity must continue.

Pleasure working with you.

Ambush! Retreat!

[Police]

Police! Freeze!

- Police! - Stay still!

- Freeze! - Don't move!

Don't move!

Police! Freeze!

Police! Freeze!

Stay still!

How did the police find us here?

Why are you looking at me?

It's not like I called the police.

Now we're each on our own.

Let's see who can make it home alive.

Let's go.

Go!

Hurry and stop them!

Freeze!

Freeze!

Freeze!

Don't move!

Ying, I was wrong.

Let me go this time.

Don't move!

Cheng Ying!

Where is that man?

What man?

No one is here.

- Move! - Move!

[Night Flow Club]

What took you so long to open the door?

Come in.

Tao.

How's it going?

Did it go well?

I almost got caught.

Luckily, I ran fast.

Tao.

This really isn't my fault.

There must be something wrong with the buyer.

It has nothing to do with me.

As if I don't know you.

It's fine.

I know you're the best.

But you introduced the buyer.

It's such a big mess.

You'd better leave here and hide.

I'll personally come to take you back

once things cool down

and give you a big gift

as compensation.

Really?

Cheers.

What are you thinking about?

[Public Security]

Dear Ms. Cheng Ying,

would you marry me, your Prince Charming?

Ying, say yes to him!

- Marry him! - Marry him!

- Marry him! - Marry him!

- Marry him! - Marry him!

- Marry him! - Marry him!

- Marry him! - Marry him!

Yeah!

Isn't he Ying's boyfriend?

You've been staring at his photo for so long.

What? You want to steal him away?

I was just kidding! Why are you becoming so angry?

You should stop reading so many romance novels.

So gossipy.

Mind your own work.

Come in.

[Chief's Office]

Do you know this drug dealer?

Yes.

So, you deliberately let him go?

I-I don't know.

My head was a mess at that time.

What's your relationship with this drug dealer?

[Strict Law Enforcement]

[Strict Law Enforcement] [The Law Is for the People]

[Public Security]

Cheng Ying,

do you have any objections

to how we're handling you?

I accept it.

[Gucheng County Public Security Bureau]

Ying.

[Public Security]

Ying!

Ying!

Hello, Yuan?

Ying has been kidnapped!

I'm busy now.

Deal with it yourself.

Yuan?

Yuan!

Do you still remember me?

You put me away for three years.

Three years!

You deserved it.

Let's see how tough you really are.

Aren't you a cop?

Aren't you tough?

Why do you look like a drowned rat now?

Still, I'm better than you vermin.

Bastards!

Let go of her!

Come at me if you have the guts!

Pretty boy,

feel sorry for her, huh?

You've been following us all the way.

Why didn't you call the police?

You're involved in something illegal, huh?

Is this chick your girlfriend?

She's got quite a body.

Mind if I borrow her to have a son?

What do you want?

What are you doing?

Let her go!

I'll kill you!

Ying?

Ying?

Ying!

Sir,

we're all in the same line of work.

Calm down, please. You can have her first.

I'll let you play first.

Get lost.

Ying.

Ying.

It's all my fault.

Enough.

You're a grown man.

Stop crying like a girl.

It's all my fault.

I really deserve to die. I really do.

I really deserve to die.

I really deserve to die. It's all my fault.

Yuan,

t-thank you for coming today.

Remember,

you owe me a life again.

Y-Yuan!

Auntie.

Excuse me.

Have you seen this person?

Hello,

do you know this person?

Thank you.

Okay, thank you.

[How Emotions Are Made] [The Scroll Marked]

After a year of observation and testing,

Yuan Lin hasn't completely let his guard down against Cheng Ying.

Now that you've healed, you can leave now.

This money

is enough for you to live the rest of your life comfortably.

I want the person who kidnapped me that day.

I must take revenge!

You're a cop.

Don't be so vengeful.

That was before.

[Night Bar]

Yuan!

Come on, come on.

Yuan is here.

Yuan?

Ying, why are you here?

How's your body?

You've all recovered, right?

Stay away from me,

or I'll break your leg.

What are you doing?

Get lost.

How's business lately?

Not bad,

thanks to you.

Cut it out.

You know what I'm saying.

I need to tell you something.

Zhao Yi has been exposed.

The police are looking for her everywhere.

They've searched my shop multiple times.

Find a way to send her out.

If worse comes to worst... finish her.

I just told you,

the police

have searched my shop several times.

They're beginning to recognize my people.

We can't keep going on like this.

The people who retaliated against Cheng Ying

are your men, right?

Call them out.

Boss,

we're all from the underworld, right?

They are all Zhao Yi's men.

Well, our guy got caught and lost his head...

Fine.

I apologize to you

on behalf of these bastards.

We're all family.

Sometimes there are conflicts between people on the same side,

right?

Things like this happened.

Enough!

He will die if you continue.

Feel better now?

Happy now?

Satisfied now?

Now, I'm satisfied.

You dared to hit me?

Are you crazy?

Better to offend a base person

than to offend a woman.

This matter ends here.

If anyone can't let it go...

don't blame me for turning hostile.

Does this chick look familiar?

Get her out of Gucheng County.

Whether she leaves here alive or dead, you decide.

[Xinliu Back Alley, Gucheng County]

[Xinliu Back Alley]

Thank you.

[Xinliu Back Alley]

We're late.

Let's split up.

Freeze!

Turn around!

Ms. Officer,

I'm just trying to make a living.

Do you really need to make such a big fuss?

What?

Not hiding anymore?

Run now!

Cheng Ying, do you know what you are doing?

This lead is very important to us!

She's more important to me now.

Have you forgotten the oath you took under the national flag?

Oath?

If oaths meant anything,

nobody would dare go out in the rain.

Cheng Ying, you can still turn back now!

Don't sink deeper

until it's irreversible!

Stop pretending to care.

Take care of yourself.

Cheng Ying!

Found Zhao Yi! She's in the back alley!

Freeze!

Go!

- Freeze! - Freeze!

Hang in there!

Why didn't you do it?

It wasn't the final moment yet.

I didn't want to give up easily.

It'd be too late if she had gotten caught.

How would we know if we didn't give it a go?

You...

haven't made up your mind yet.

Yes.

I couldn't bring myself to do it.

She was one of yours,

which means she was one of us.

I couldn't bring myself to lay a hand on one of my own.

That would break our brothers' hearts.

The lead is gone.

The police might make desperate moves.

Tell our brothers to lay low.

Name.

Fang Tao.

Fan, F-A-N.

Tao, as in Taoism.

If you don't know how to spell it,

T-A-O.

Just answer what you're asked.

Age.

I'm sweet sixteen.

I'm still a minor.

Cooperate with us!

Your nightclub employee, Zhao Yi, is suspected of drug trafficking.

What do you know about this...

Wait, wait,

let me interrupt.

I'm sorry.

Here's the thing.

Zhao Yi

tried to seduce me before, but I didn't fall for it.

I fired her directly.

She's dealing drugs?

My God,

that woman is terrifying.

Fang Tao,

you're making yourself sound quite innocent, huh?

Without sufficient evidence,

we wouldn't have you sitting here.

I'm warning you one last time...

cooperate with us!

I'll fully cooperate.

I'll fully cooperate.

Sir, my...

Sir, my...

head hurts.

Could you please call a doctor for me?

Captain.

This guy won't budge.

I don't think we'll get anything out of him.

Should we hold him for the full 24 hours?

No need.

[Gucheng County Public Security Bureau]

Boss,

you're out.

Captain!

This one won't say anything.

The Chief has asked me to bring her back for questioning.

Put her in Interrogation Room Three.

Yes.

Why are you still here?

Thought of anything to confess?

Well... your bureau isn't as comfortable as my home.

Boss.

I just saw Zhao Yi at the police station.

That woman can't be left alive.

Otherwise, I'll be finished.

It was a mess at that time.

I couldn't be certain.

I've slept

with her hundreds of times.

How could I not tell if it was her

at the police station?

If she doesn't die, I'll be doomed.

Well…

It's up to you.

There's such a hidden trouble left

because you were not decisive then.

This time,

you must kill her yourself.

Okay.

[Save lives and treat the injured]

[Gucheng County People's Hospital]

[Information]

[Ward 4]

Stay alert.

It's time to change the IV.

[Keep quiet]

What did you see?

Nothing.

[Nurse Station]

[Nurse Station]

[Keep quiet]

[Quiet]

[Ward 5]

[Ward 7]

Stop!

Catch him!

Freeze!

Freeze!

Freeze!

Behave!

You can't escape.

Come with us!

[Ward: 6]

[Gucheng County People's Hospital]

[Gucheng County People's Hospital]

[Gucheng County People's Hospital]

[Public Security Team Management Rules]

Chief,

this person is mute and can't even use sign language.

It's hard to communicate with him. We can't get anything out of him.

Chief,

we can let him go

and tail him quietly. Maybe we can find something.

No.

Keep an eye on him. Don't let him escape.

He can't tell us anything.

Execute the order.

Yes.

Boss.

Boss.

Tao.

Deliver this batch of goods as usual tomorrow.

Pay more attention.

Have you seen Zhao Yi?

She's still in a coma.

I injected potassium cyanide into her.

She can't be saved even though she's in the hospital.

I have a batch of goods

that need to be urgently delivered to the buyer across provinces.

You three go together.

Three?

I feel bored after staying in the city for a long time.

This trip is great.

I can make money

and get some fresh air.

Ying, are you thirsty?

I brought you some water.

If you're hungry, I'll pull over.

I'll slice an orange for you.

What's going on?

I'll go have a look.

Stand still.

We just want to rob the money.

Just leave the goods.

Guys.

Search the van!

[Fruits]

Get off.

Impressive, lady warrior.

You hit harder

and faster than I do.

Are you okay?

It's good that you're okay.

That's good.

Why are you still lying there?

Who got the goods out?

Move them back!

You think you're Zorro?

What a beast!

Hurry up!

Hurry up.

Okay.

You're even wearing a mask.

Hurry up. Hurry!

Hurry up. Let's go!

I... You...

Ying.

We're fine,

but some of our brothers were hurt.

Why didn't you stop her?

She was faster than me.

She was fiercer. I couldn't stop her.

Yuan, it was all thanks to Ying.

The trip was so tough.

Okay.

Where is the buyer?

I'm the buyer.

Are you kidding me?

No, Ying, you...

Calm down.

Put the gun down.

Yuan! Yuan!

Yuan…

From now on, we're family.

Family.

Family.

I have an important task for you.

How much can I get?

She used to throw hundreds of thousands

on the ground right in front of me.

What? Do you regret it?

I helped you deal with Zhao Yi

to repay your kindness in saving my life.

We are even now.

It's time to negotiate the price now.

Good!

So straightforward!

I like this personality of yours.

Don't worry about money.

It'll only be more than you expect.

Wait. Wait.

What happened?

You'll get me killed sooner or later.

Get lost!

If you want to use substances, do it somewhere else!

Get lost!

Ying, are you okay?

Recently, the business…

Has been great!

Ying,

you are really my lucky star.

Yuan, there have been fewer people taking drugs in the venue recently.

And fewer police officers came to investigate.

I have to thank you for your support, Yuan.

Here.

Let's get drunk tonight!

[Gucheng County Biopharmaceutical Factory]

From now on, you are the person I trust the most.

I don't bring just anyone here.

Let's go.

- Boss. - Boss.

During the absence of Licheng,

I'll leave the safety here to you.

[Detention Room]

Luo Licheng!

Behave yourself!

Hurry! Open the door!

Behave!

This is where I gather with my bros.

Have a seat.

Sit.

[Quiet]

[Quiet]

Dr. Chen.

Zhao Yi in Bed 36 needs a new IV bag.

Someone jumped out of the window!

[Luo's escaped]

[Retreat now]

Ying.

How much did you drink?

Not much.

I'm happy.

We...

We...

haven't

been sitting together to chat like this for a long time.

Right?

In the lab, I saw

only anesthetics like atropine,

along with painkillers.

I didn't see any drugs.

Where did the goods come from?

I don't know.

If it's not a lab,

only Yuan knows the truth.

Ying, can you...

Can you give me another chance?

You're drunk.

I'm not drunk.

You don't know what they're like.

They are too cruel.

They forced me to sell drugs.

I just want to make more money.

Didn't you tell me

you liked the house by the beach?

I'll save enough money soon.

Very soon.

By then, I'll…

I'll buy you the biggest one by the beach

so that you can live comfortably inside.

No one can disturb you.

That way, I'll be happy.

Everything will be over.

You're back.

How is that possible? Don't talk nonsense!

Get in.

Ying.

You're too green to play these tricks with me.

Yuan.

Ying is just too curious.

She's not necessarily the mole.

She won't betray us!

Yuan!

Yuan, please let Ying go.

I'll take her away now.

I will never leak

- anything about you, Yuan! - You chose this path yourself.

You're seeking death.

Yuan.

Luo Licheng!

Luo Licheng!

Yuan, please let Ying go!

Yuan!

Yuan!

Ying!

Ying!

Ying!

Ying.

Ying.

Ying.

Are you okay?

I don't want to die here.

Promise me.

Give my body to Chen Zhongyi.

Stop it.

You won't die.

Ying.

I want you to promise me

to give my body to Chen Zhongyi.

I swear

that I volunteer to become

[Serve the People]

A police officer of the People's Republic of China.

I pledge my loyalty to the Communist Party of China,

to the country

and the people.

I'll fear no sacrifice.

I will serve the people wholeheartedly.

I am willing to dedicate myself to the noble cause of public security

and will strive to fulfill my oath through my efforts.

Ying.

Ying!

Chop her up and feed her to the dogs.

Yuan.

I beg you.

Please let me lay Ying to rest in peace.

Yuan, I'll be your servant for the rest of my life.

Please let me lay Ying to rest in peace.

I'll kowtow to you.

Loser.

Let's go.

Hello?

It's me.

Let's go.

Captain.

The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the heart,

while the other gunshot wounds on other parts of her body

seemed more likely to be caused by acts of frustration.

On the edge of her clothing,

several fingerprints of an adult male were found.

We're comparing them

with the suspect you had in mind.

Did you inform the chief?

Yes.

We also found this in the victim's stomach.

[Drugs]

[Drugs]

Leave the rest to your comrades.

No way!

How could this have happened?

How could this have happened?

After many tests,

Cheng Ying is the best candidate among you.

You know the undercover confidentiality rules,

so you have to put on a show.

[Confidentiality Agreement]

Cheng Ying, have you made up your mind?

Han Yongxin is involved.

This is a good breakthrough.

No one is more suitable than me.

These drug dealers are vicious

and very vigilant.

Your identity is special.

It's hard for you to be trusted.

We are police officers.

Our mission

is to safeguard people's lives and property.

The sooner we get rid of the drug dealers,

the less people will be hurt.

I'm willing to fulfill my oath with my life.

Captain,

you knew it from a long time ago, right?

A bit earlier than you.

Otherwise, in the hospital,

Luo Licheng shouldn't have been the only one captured.

Don't be nervous.

The director wants me to play along.

I was afraid you'd be the nervous one.

Get some sleep.

[Drugs]

If I hadn't reported her,

this wouldn't have happened.

Even without the investigation,

she would still make the same choice.

Before Ying died,

she had so many wounds.

She must've been very painful!

Ying.

When Ying left,

[Gucheng County Public Security Bureau]

She didn't have an umbrella.

Dear Ms. Cheng Ying,

would you marry me, Han Yongxin, your Prince Charming?

[Public Security]

Through the information and clues we collected,

we have fully gathered the information

on the members of Yuan Lin's drug trafficking group

and their various strongholds.

[Public Security]

This time,

we must catch all drug dealers in one go

and get rid of them completely.

Yes, sir!

Keep Cheng Ying company.

I'm not a loser!

No!

Loser!

Han Yongxin.

Han Yongxin!

Han Yongxin.

Hang in there.

Don't sleep.

Don't sleep, Han Yongxin!

Don't sleep!

Han Yongxin!

Name.

Fang Tao.

What? Aren't you going to be honest?

I must be honest with you this time.

I'll tell you everything,

no matter whether you know it or not.

I want to seek leniency by confessing.

I will fully cooperate.

Fully cooperate…

Fully cooperate…
