[Episode 18]

How can I sign off on this?

Grandma wants me to authorize Gao Jie to change Gao Hui's designs,

but with her temper, how will she ever agree?

Even if she doesn't want to agree, she must. What our company really needs is an acknowledged designer.

Isn't this why we recruited Hui Xin in the first place?

Since Grandma has expressed positive opinions, this means that Gao Jie's design skills are okay.

Since we can use Gao Jie, why must we use Gao Hui?

Listening to you speak, it sounds like you're waiting for a day when Gao Jie replaces Gao Hui.

Let me tell you. Don't even think about it.

No matter how talented Gao Jie is, she is only an ordinary designer.

Gao Hui is different. She is the daughter of Wu Xiaoci.

She is recognized as the industry's future star.

If Wu Xiaoci could win the Saint Laurent competition, why can't Gao Jie shoot to fame?

We are not betting on a possibility.

We are hammering nails into the board.

Grandma is aging, and Mu Ziyun's words weigh more and more in the company.

We don't have time to gamble on a so-called shoot-to-fame.

Let me just say that I do not wish to interfere with your personal life.

But please do not bring personal feelings into the workplace and let them cloud your judgment.

That's not it, Bro.

Isn't finding our own designer something you wanted to do?

Why are you suddenly taking it all back?

Also, why do you always help Gao Hui whenever there's something to do with her?

Do you not have personal feelings for her?

I've signed it. You figure out how to cope with it.

So the one sent to the factory was Gao Jie.

If she personally asked for your help, it's clear that she cared a lot for those samples,

so you went to help and did her a favor.

I always meant to put the Inlay Group in a tight spot.

Now that Gao Jie has appeared and rebutted Gao Hui's design,

it's just perfectly in line with my original intention.

And it also fits my goal of striking Yu Zhi with one blow.

But Gao Jie is a member of the Inlay Group after all.

In the future how will you make room for her?

I've been mulling that over, too.

Yu Zhi and Yu Yi are young and fearless.

They're in the limelight and only see what's in front of their eyes.

I can't give them the least chance of a break.

Yet,

you consider Gao Jie like a daughter and now she's stuck in the middle.

What are you planning to do?

I had not thought

that Gao Jie would get entangled in Rui Hua's matters.

If we followed the original plan and block the sample production at the factory,

I'm afraid this would have affected Gao Jie as well.

She was so determined and worked so hard to get into Rui Hua,

as her aunt, even if I don't help her, I can't set her back.

Ziyun, now the problem is that, in the end, you're not in charge of Rui Hua.

Here you have work on one side and family on the other.

If something doesn't go as you plan,

you'll have to make a choice.

If...

If things really go in a way that I can't keep them under control,

I guess I can only disappoint Gao Jie.

Actually, making Gao Jie leave Rui Hua may not be a bad thing, for her or for me.

You like them the best.

Take it slow, take it slow.

- Come. - Thank you.

Have some water.

I love butterfly cookies best.

You like butterfly cookies so much, is it Gao Jie who often buys them for you?

She's very busy. She's very busy.

It doesn't matter. If she's busy, I'll come often and keep you company.

Why don't you eat anymore?

I'll put them away. I won't give them to anyone.

No need to put them away, there's still a lot of them.

I'll keep them for Xiao Jie, she's grown too thin.

If she likes them, I'll buy more for her.

No. I just want to keep them for Xiao Jie.

I failed you and our daughter..

Take this medicine, this one and this one to the third floor.

- Hello.- Mr. Gao.

I want to know more about Pan Yue's current condition.

Compared to when she first came in, she's already adjusted a lot.

Actually, there has been a previous recovery case with similar conditions to hers.

Not to mention, medicine is getting more advanced, everything's possible.

I want to pay for her expenses for the next quarter.

If her daughter asks, just say that to treat Pan Yue's condition,

your hospital has a pro bono policy and you can waive the fees.

I want to help, but I'm afraid her daughter will feel awkward about it.

All right. Then I'll go prepare the paperwork, and look for you in her room after.

Thank you.

Hui Hui! Hui Hui!

Hui Hui, let me explain.

- Hui Hui! Hui Hui! Come on, let me explain.- What's to explain?

You're the one who signed the appointment notice, you can't change that.

Don't get mad, let me speak. I couldn't help it this time.

The Chairwoman was so mad,

she ordered us to sign it, so I couldn't refuse.

In the beginning, when the two of you came asking me to join, you made it sound so good.

Now I've just come in Rui Hua for a short while and you let a little designer walk all over me.

Don't come spouting nonsense to me now. You may as well go treasure your new designer.

I believe in you. Really.

I believe your design had no fault.

Really?

It would be so nice if Yu Zhi also thought the same.

Oh, right.

Isn't this from that day... You want me to give it to Yu Zhi?

I'm giving it to you. Is it not your birthday the day after tomorrow?

With the words you just told me, it was not a waste to remember your birthday.

Didn't you say that this was quite good last time? I've thought about it. Better buy an appreciated item than a wild purchase.

If you're not happy you can refuse.

No, no, no. I like it a lot.

Then I'll go home.

I really can't stay there anymore.

Not only did Lin Xue refuse to change factories, but she even adopted Gao Jie's design scheme and completely refused mine.

At Rui Hua, they're real bullies.

Hui Hui, calm down. You must not get angry.

At a time like this, you should be even more composed.

Think about it. If you start a fuss with Rui Hua now,

doesn't that mean that you're falling into Gao Jie's trap?

I just can't swallow this anger.

Tomorrow I'm taking the day off, I'm not going to work.

Will Gao Jie sing victory? I'll let her, for a while.

It's such a big affair, I want to see how she suffers.

Hui Hui! Don't be rash. Hui Hui!

Listen to your Mom.

Hui Hui!

Actually, there has been a previous recovery case with similar conditions to hers.

Not to mention, medicine is getting more advanced, everything's possible.

Pan Yue. As long as there is a shimmer of hope,

I will do my best to try.

This is the only thing I can do for you.

Hello? How are you, Director Wang?

It's me.

I want to ask you if you could find the best doctor in the country,

who specializes in brain neurology.

Yes.

As soon as possible.

Good. Then, we'll meet next time.

Fine, no problem.

Then, we're counting on you for our advertising campaign.

Don't worry. We have a lot of experience.

I'm going.

What is it? Putting on a long face as soon as the business talk is over.

Are you still mad at me?

I admit it. About that matter, I was a bit too...

much. I apologize.

But in the end, Grandmother chose the internal plan from the Inlay Group.

And the name, she's putting on it, is Hui Xin.

It's not that. I'm not mad.

I feel that this matter isn't as simple as it seems.

Don't you think it's too much of a coincidence that Grandmother suddenly stepped in?

Who knows if there's another story behind it.

Are you talking about Mu Ziyun?

We need to investigate it further.

- Then I'm going to start from-- - You can't swipe it? You've already swiped these four cards before.

Sir, I really tried it many times already,

- but it doesn't work. - If it doesn't work then put it on the tab then.

No, no, no, sir. No credit is given at this restaurant.

Let me tell you. My family sells jewelry.

We've always dealt with gold and silver. I won't owe you this little bit of money.

Mister, really, don't be like this.

You go back first.

I'll contact you later.

I can only call the police then.

What did you say? Call the police?

What department will you call?

Hitting women like before, huh?

The person to pay my check is here.

Son, good thing you're here.

If you didn't come soon, I was going to call Rui Hua and find Mu Ziyun.

If you keep yelling,

I will let Grandma and everyone else know.

I'm completely at ease.

Timing and Subtitles brought to you by The Charmed Team at Viki

Sorry about that earlier.

It's okay.

It's okay.

Thank you.

Really?

Okay.

Okay, okay.

Bye-bye.

Bye-bye.

And where did you snatch this married woman from?

Willing adults; you talk like I really did snatch her.

Why do you talk so crudely?

Are you looking down on me?

Let me tell you, I'm your father.

You have the responsibility of being filial towards me.

Then let me remind you.

My mom committed suicide because of you.

You still want me to be filial toward you.

Sorry, Yu Zhi.

I care about you too much.

But I can't say it aloud.

I'm the one who told Master Wang to report to the Chairwoman

and caused the problem of the strike.

You're here.

Are you angry?

And you still deny it.

Your brows are all furrowed.

I know, today, reporting directly to a superior was wrong of me,

but I didn't do it on purpose.

I didn't even expect that the Chairwoman would call me in.

Don't be angry anymore, okay?

All right. I'm not upset because of that.

I'm feeling down because of some other matters.

Didn't you say that today is our 100-day anniversary?

♫ Having looked around for a while ♫

♫ Yet the tale has not reached its end ♫

I made these myself.

In the beginning I wanted to use

bright red opals

to make a necktie clip.

But I didn't have enough money.

Then I remembered that I had a couple of moonstones with pretty fine clarity

and they were just perfect to make cufflinks for you.

Look, don't they look like full moons?

♫ Meeting you ♫

"Full moon, a circle of people." I hope (Beginning of a traditional quote of well-wishes for someone)

your work and your life can be full and complete.

♫ The nurturing that has been preordained by fate ♫

♫ Meeting you ♫

What kind of expression is that?

Even if you look down on it, you better not say it.

I know that even though my handiwork isn't comparable to the craftsman at the factory--

Full moon, ("Full moon, circle of people. All things are full and complete")

circle of people,

perfect and complete all around.

You have to always remember what you said.

My life can only be complete as long as I have you.

So you better not try to escape from my grasp.

Because I'm very selfish.

I need your warmth.

♫ If we didn't owe each other, how would we have met ♫

♫ people in love won't be hurt again ♫

I will always be by your side.

♫ Finally makes me believe ♫

♫ In life, the purpose of this protracted and lonely journey ♫

Let me bring you somewhere.

Where?

We have to celebrate Designer Gao's

extraordinary talent debut.

You carried me for half the day already, you can put me down.

Someone might even think that I'm injured.

No.

Aren't you tired?

I'm not tired. Even if I am, I won't put you down.

Why not?

Because I'm scared you'll run away.

Why would I?

What is it?

[SH N FO396: Illegal parking - Traffic Warden Brigade ]

It can't be...

That's right. It was towed away.

Then what do we do?

I'll make you go home on a man-powered carriage.

Let's go!

Put me down!

You said to go somewhere with you

and that you'd celebrate with me.

So it was here to climb walls?

That's right. The place we met after coming back from overseas was here.

And today is our 100-day anniversary.

Of course, we have to come to such a meaningful place.

Do you see that bag?

Today, the gym has an activity. If you can get that bag,

the item inside will be mine.

I'm feeling down today but if you get that bag,

I might feel better.

You want me to go get it?

Who said they wanted to celebrate with me earlier?

You didn't even give me any flowers.

Instead, you order your girlfriend around.

But my mood is down.

I'll just let you win for tonight.

After tonight, tomorrow,

you better not use feeling down as an excuse again.

Yes.

Hold on a bit, you're almost there.

Yu Zhi, I got it.

Yu Zhi!

Yu Zhi, where did you go?

Yu Zhi!

Yu Zhi!

Yu Zhi! Where did you go?

Gao Jie, your present is here. Please sign.

[Gao Jie, I love you]

Congratulations to us, meeting for 100 days and loving each other for 100 days.

And I wish you a happy return to the path of your dreams.

Thank you for preparing this surprise for me. I like it a lot.

Actually, all these things are just icing on the cake.

The thing I wanted to give you is in your hands.

You're saying this is for me?

Guess what your gift is.

This gift is

a bit cold to the touch and prickly...

and if you see it you will immediately shriek.

Believe me. Close your eyes.

Stick out your hand.

It can't be.

"Ordinary Love."

It's the work I created for the competition.

You bought it from that foreign buyer?

At first, they wouldn't give it up to me no matter what.

So I had no choice but to tell them our love story,

to make them fulfill the most sincere ordinary love.

You know no shame.

♫ I have never felt so in love before ♫

♫ Listening to the rhythm from your breathing ♫

Yu Zhi, thank you.

I've never told you that the idea for this necklace

came from the rainforest, when you protected me.

If for everyone there's one person to cherish to the end,

I hope that the person who walks with me to the end is you.

Letting me meet you

and protect you is my blessing.

And because of this, my life has also been filled with meaning.

Gao Jie,

if one day you want to leave my side,

I will get you back no matter what price I have to pay.

What is it? Why are you so angry this early in the morning?

Why am I angry?

Look at what this is.

Look at this!

A lawyer's letter!

You got sued?

Why are you getting angry at me then?

What does it have to do with me?

How is it not related to you?

Yu Guanghua, did you go behind our back

and sign a purchase contract somewhere?

That's impossible. Why would I sign a contract?

How is it impossible? It says it right here in black and white!

I have to see

what kind of bomb you've dropped on Rui Hua.

It's just a contract.

Rui Hua signs many contracts in a day!

When you sign, it's a good performance for Rui Hua;

when I sign, I'm dropping bombs on Rui Hua? What kind of logic is that?

What kind of logic?!

This thing you signed is several times higher than the regular price out there;

and in addition, the breach of contract clause requires double compensation fees.

- I'd like to see how you're going to patch this up!- Then we won't patch at all!

- I-- - What are you guys fighting about?

What are you guys fighting about?

- Good morning.- Good morning.

You didn't sleep well last night?

You look so tired.

I probably need a morning kiss in order to wake up.

Go brush your teeth.

I still got to kiss you, didn't I?

Then, Mr. Yu, does getting this kiss mean

that you don't need to eat breakfast anymore?

Then I probably need ten more!

That's enough.

[UNIFON]

Hello?

Yu Zhi, you're back.

Look at your dad.

Look at what dumb thing he did.

Look at this!

I just signed a contract. What's the big deal?

You're just a wastrel.

[Rui Hua Jewellery Ltd. purchase contract]

Who told you to sign this?

Was it that woman?

What are you guys doing?

I've been at Rui Hua for this many years. Who has ever treated me like a human there?

Who gave me any power?

At Rui Hua, even a janitor would look down on me.

I just waved the flag of Rui Hua a bit to put on some airs.

So what... you all... this stupid contract, we'll dispute it, that's it.

You went out to swindle and you wanted Rui Hua to clean it up for you?

Rui Hua will not be doing anything about this contract.

That time, he will differentially sue you.

You'll go to jail. It has nothing to do with us.

Jail? It's not that serious.

Then go ask a lawyer.

Mom! Look at how your daughter-in-law and grandson are treating me!

Isn't it just a contract? Can't we just spend some money to fix it?

You still have the face to bite back?

Look at this! Look at how shameless you are!

Mom! Mom! Mom!

What are you doing? Do you think they will let go of you easily?

They said that if we don't carry out the contract, they will sue you for rape, too!

You! You! You rascal!

Mom!

Mom! Mom!

Call the hospital!

Quickly call!

Mom!

[Emergency]

Get out of here.

Get out!

You caused the mess yourself. You fix it.

Mom! You can't not care about me! I'm your son!

If you don't do anything, I'll go to jail!

Then go to jail.

I'll take it as I never had a son.

Second Uncle, Grandmother is not well. She needs rest,

so don't bother her anymore.

Ziyun. Ziyun, as a married couple,

look at our years together and help me out!

How many chances did I give you all these past years?

My heart hurts, too.

I've had enough.

Since you don't care about our marriage, why should I get soft?

You repay your own debt.

Ah Zhi! Ah Zhi! Ah Zhi!

Hear me out! Ah Zhi, Ah Zhi!

You can't not care about me!

I'm your dad after all.

I only have you left.

You have to believe me! I was tricked!

Mom, I have good news to tell you.

Good news?

I love good news.

I already made my first step in Rui Hua.

In the future, I will definitely work harder and become better.

Become better and better.

Tasty!

One day,

I will exceed Gao Hui

and Wu Xiaoci.

I will use my ability to officially prove

the design back then was yours.

Eat some.

You can eat it.

It's mine?

It's yours.

Hui Hui, what time is it? Why aren't you getting up?

Are you not going to work today?

I'm not going. I'm sick.

Sick?

What is it? Do you have a fever?

Do you need to go to the hospital?

It's all thanks to your precious eldest daughter!

She embarrassed me at Rui Hua and I almost lost my job.

You're probably really happy that your eldest daughter is this excellent, right?

Don't be anxious first. There must be a misunderstanding between you and Xiao Jie.

Her temper is a little stubborn but she wouldn't harm you.

Dad, you don't know!

[Rui Hua Gold Jewellery]

Xiao Jie.

What are you doing here?

I know that when you get busy you forget to care about your body.

I made some soup for you.

Actually, you don't have to do this kind of thing for me.

I should have done these things earlier for you.

Xiao Jie, I'm the one who wronged you.

It has nothing to do with Hui Hui.

I hope that you two can get along peacefully with each other. Okay?

Are you here to drop off soup

or did you come here carrying a sugar-coated cannonball preparing to give me another hit?

Don't misunderstand my meaning.

I just think that if you continue to argue with Hui Hui,

it will only make family members get hurt and other people ridicule you. Isn't that right?

I don't know what you're saying.

But if you have to say these things, you should be saying them to Gao Hui.

Of course, I will also tell Hui Hui this, too.

But this time, you should let her go.

She is your younger sister after all.

Younger sister?

Has she thought of me as her older sister?

Why does everything you say make everything sound like it's my fault

and that she's the innocent victim?

You both are really a family. You two are best at calling a wrong as something right.

Don't say anything more.

Before you guys appeared, I lived happily with Grandpa and Mom.

It was you guys who ruined all that.

You still haven't slept yet?

I was waiting for you.

So late.

There's too much work.

What is it? Are you in a bad mood?

Is there anything I can help you with?

Nothing.

I just want... you to let me rent here long-term.

Sounds good. Then let's make a contract.

If you want to rent long-term, I can even give you a discount.

Then how long is considered long-term?

A lifetime.

So comfortable.

I am not your cushion.

Before I entered the door, I was physically and mentally exhausted, but after I saw you when I entered,

it all vanished.

The contract has already been signed in black and white.

What else is there to discuss?

Rui Hua would certainly acknowledge a contract that's reasonable and valid,

but Yu Guanghua holds no position in the company.

So he has no right to represent Rui Hua and sign any contract.

That is to say, under the law, that contract is invalid.

Everyone knows Yu Guanghua is Lin Xue's biological son.

Lin Xue's money will eventually be Yu Guanghua's.

So having a position or not is meaningless.

Not to mention, whether Yu Guanghua holds a position or not,

he signed a contract so he has to pay.

The son can run away, but not the mother.

I think asking Lin Xue for the money is the right thing.

I can see that you, Director Zhang, are a lover of tea.

Just like this bowl set: lid, bowl and plate.

The three must cooperate to make good tea.

Once one of them has a problem, not only is the tea not good,

but you could even burn your hand.

So, only in harmony, can you prosper.

Director Zhang, you're a lover of tea,

you wouldn't be missing this bit of sense. Would you?

Prosper in harmony. There's nothing else to say here.

Either you acknowledge this contract and settle the payment as per the conditions

or else I'll sue Yu Guanghua and drag him into court.

We'll let a judge decide.

Tell me, by then,

of the two of us, who is going to lose more?

Director Zhang, must you walk down this road?

Young man, remember this one point.

If you want to obtain something you want,

you have to be willing to suffer.

Da Hung Pao tea must be infused with boiling water at 100°C to taste good.

For this cup of good tea, I can even burn my hand without flinching.

Your tea-making skill is not bad, but you are still inexperienced.

You'd better go home and practice.

Inexperienced? I'll let you see what I can do.

This position here is empty,

so the angle here needs to be a little bigger.

See?

The space here is necessary.

So, we still need to adjust it a little.

Hello?

She's standing there all day; she's so clingy that I can do nothing.

You have to think of a plan.

Just do it as she says. Okay?

Okay, I got it.

What is it?

It's Master Wang who has the authority!

If you don't agree, then nothing can be done.

You can't say that.

This design after the modification,

if you want mass production, we must guarantee the quality. We can't rush it.

Of course, I understand this point. But with Master Wang here,

I believe the factory can finish it quickly and well.

Master Qian, look at Gao Jie doing her best.

We as a support department have to give full cooperation.

Just fix it the way she says.

Have the product finished as soon as possible.

Thank you, Master Wang.

It's my duty.
