What kind of useless men are you?

I appointed him as the 6th Primary Royal Guard.

- Father. - Dal-hyang!

The 6th Primary Guard!

Please stop, Father.

There's no chance for you to...

...become a crown princess ever.

I'll kill you myself.

I don't know either, why I'm doing this.

I've been wasting all this time so far.

How could I?

It's a murder.

The prisoner killed the nurse and ran away.

- Father - Father?

Father.

Father!

I'll see you tomorrow.

Good night.

Go now...

Wife...

Wife...

Your Highness!

Your Highness!

- Your Highness! - Wake everyone up.

Call a doctor.

Hang in there.

You'll be fine.

You'll be okay.

- Hey. - What are you doing here,

Left-hand Guard?

I came to see His Highness, what's going on?

The Crown Princess was shot and she's in critical condition.

I'm going to the palace to report.

What on earth is going on?

She needs to lay on the side.

I'll be here.

Don't worry.

I'll be right beside you.

- Your Highness! - Your Highness!

I'm sorry, Your Highness, please leave the room.

Your Highness.

What's going on?

Do you know who did it?

I couldn't see.

It was too dark.

Hyang-sun escaped from the Royal Prison.

She sent a poisoned drink to Park Dal-hyang.

Now his father has passed away.

Father...

It's a murder case...

...go report this to the authority.

Yes, I understand.

It must be her.

Where did she get shot?

We couldn't search since we were short-handed.

As soon as we get more force...

Your Highness.

Your Highness!

Where are you?

I'm alone.

Come out.

I...

I...

...regretted it everyday...

...and questioned myself...

...if ruling the evil with anger was...

...too hasty of a decision...

...if it was the best choice 5 years ago.

So when you appeared alive...

...I was...

...sincerely glad.

I had another chance...

...to rule it with a good deed.

I thought it was the right thing to do!

I thought then you'd change too.

If you change, I thought I'd be happy too!

But...

...now look at us.

Is this the result of my sincerity?

How...

...how can we have such an ill-fated relationship?

I...

...I just...

...came here to talk to you.

I thought...

...you'd at least be tormented.

However...

...you were having fun with that woman.

After putting me in the jail.

How could you do that?

Okay.

I understand.

You can never see me happy.

I can't ever forgive you.

Right.

Let's die together.

Wouldn't everyone be better off...

...if two of us were to die?

Others are not at fault.

Don't come.

You don't think I can shoot you?

Don't come closer!

Your Highness!

Your Highness, where are you?

Hey.

Can you see me?

Can you hear me?

You're at your palace now.

Hang in there.

My wife?

She's getting better.

You worry about yourself now.

Do you feel better now?

My wife?

I said she's okay!

She's recovering faster than you.

Your Highness.

How is the Crown Princess?

She's much better now.

Let me get up.

I need to see her.

She went to her parents' house.

His Majesty sent her home for faster recovery.

She's resting too,

so don't worry.

Dear!

Dear!

Oh, dear!

So...

I told him not to go...

...saying it's worthless.

He's never been to Hanyang.

He insisted he should go and then...

Father, what are you doing?

It's my honor to see the 6th Primary Guard...

...for the first time in my life.

I should bow to you.

- Stop it, Father. - Sir!

The 6th Primary Guard!

It's enough now.

Where are you going?

To drink some water.

Excuse me...

Are you Sir Park Dal-hyang by any chance?

Yes.

Heo Seung-po from Hanyang...

...sent you a letter.

How are you doing there?

I'm sorry I'm not with you now for dealing with many things here.

I have some news.

Hyang-sun is...

Your Highness!

Your Highness, where are you?

Your Highness...

Your Highness!

Your Highness!

There's someone!

Chase her! That's Hyang-sun!

Hurry up!

Your Highness!

Your Highness!

Please wake up!

Your Highness!

Stop there!

Stop right there!

Stop!

- Stop there! - Stop!

- Stop there! - Stop!

Her body was found a few days after by the river.

I know it won't be much of a comfort...

...but I hope it will ease your anger a bit.

Hyang-sun is dead...

...but everything left is badly hurt.

He's recovering, but there's something he doesn't know.

I couldn't bring myself to tell him.

They said the Crown Princess...

...probably won't make it.

And we are...

What should we do?

What's going on?

Why are you...

Are you Heo Seung-po?

Yes?

Come with us to the Royal Prison.

What?

Who are you?

It's the king's order.

Now we're at the Royal Prison being interrogated.

Everything is being revealed because of that woman.

I'm letting you know because it might affect you too.

Please hide for awhile.

I hope at least you will survive.

That's Park Dal-hyang?

Yes...

...I gave him the letter.

Arrest him!

Yes, sir!

Is this a letter from Heo Seung-po?

It'll be confiscated as evidence.

What about the Crown Prince?

The Crown Prince will be able to survive.

The rumor says the Crown Princess won't make it.

What a vicious woman.

Who can be crazy like her?

Hyang-sun is saving me somehow.

I can survive like this.

The king's order is to investigate thoroughly...

...since it's a grave case.

Yes, of course. This is a real serious case.

A mere girl shot and almost killed...

...both the Crown Prince and his wife of a country.

Hyang-sun was a witness...

...for conspiring with you.

Then why did that woman escape the prison...

...to shoot the Crown Prince and his wife?

Right, how strange.

Please be more serious.

You're being suspected by some.

What did you say?

Are you saying I...

...ordered her to shoot them?

How dare you talk to me like that?

I'm the Commander-in-Chief of this country!

I'm just telling you, there's such suspicion.

So tell us about Hyang-sun all in detail.

I don't know about other things but I've heard...

...about her past from her.

Her past?

The reason she got twisted

and shot the Crown Prince and the Crown Princess.

What?

Although we can't take his words as the truth,

there are somethings quite suspicious.

The Crown Prince knew Hyang-sun already.

He linked her to the Anju case...

...and get her arrested for personal reason.

Which led Hyang-sun to take revenge.

I thought you should know since it involves the Crown Prince.

Re-investigate the Anju case.

Pyeongan-do Governor Kim Suk-han's report...

...seems all strange now.

The Three Musketeers.

They came and told me to rewrite the letter.

The Three Musketeers?

They called those three, including the Crown Prince

and his friends, as "The Three Musketeers".

The Crown Prince and his friends?

The Crown Prince said I can only live...

...by listening to him and rewriting the letter.

I was so scared so I did as he said.

The Crown Prince was in Anju?

He called himself as the Crown Prince.

Was he really the Crown Prince?

I know the other two for sure.

It's Heo Seung-po and Ahn Min-seo.

Arrest Heo Seung-po and Ahn Min-seo.

Park Dal-hyang suddenly appeared in Hanyang

said to destroy the report addressed to me?

Yes, he did.

Was the order from the Crown Prince?

I made a promise with Heo Seung-po.

So it means...

Heo Seung-po really was in Anju.

Yes, sir.

He was with Ahn Min-seo.

So they all deceived me.

Arrest Park Dal-hyang.

Arrest him.

Yes, sir!

Did you really threatened the Pyeongan-do Governor Kim Suk-han

to rewrite the report to His Majesty?

Yes, but it wasn't to distort the truth.

It was to have him write the truth.

Anyway, you were involved in writing the report to the king.

We brought Royal Guard Officer Park Dal-hyang.

Sit him down.

Didn't you get the letter telling you to lay low?

You should've sent it earlier.

It was too late by the time I got it.

I'll ask you again.

While you threaten the governor to rewrite the report...

...Park Dal-hyang...

- His Majesty is here. - What?

Everyone get out.

Yes, Your Majesty.

I was going to report you after, you didn't have to come.

I have something to ask them directly.

So you leave too.

Yes, Your Majesty.

I need to check something with you.

I got a testimony stating that the report

from the governor Kim Suk-han was rewritten

as he was coerced and threatened by the Three Musketeers.

I trusted you and appointed you as the 6th Primary Royal Guard...

...since your story matched his report.

If the report was manipulated...

...is your story made up too?

It's not manipulated, Your Majesty.

It's not?

Everything is true, Your Majesty!

Saying that it's manipulated is manipulated.

I was almost killed by the Commander-in-Chief's conspiracy.

I barely survived.

I'm not asking you this because I trust Kim Ja-jeom all of sudden.

I've seen this conspiracy and who-did-what scheme a lot.

It's not even surprising anymore.

I just want to know one thing.

There was The Three Musketeers involved when you survived.

The Three Musketeers are Heo Seung-po, Ahn Min-seo...

...and who's the other one?

The one who threatened the governor...

...manipulated the report...

...saw off Yong Gol-dae at the border...

...and deceived me.

Is it the Crown Prince?

Tell me now!

Who's the last member of the three musketeers met the local governor?

Isn't it the Crown Prince?

It's me.

I'll tell you everything.

Three of us used the Crown Prince's name.

I wanted to be successful faster and have a better life.

I thought people wouldn't know even...

...if I told them I was the Crown Prince since it was countryside.

So it was you?

I heard it was the Three Musketeers who saved you.

It was actually the same person.

The Governor never seen my face.

So we deceived him and we...

...fought over who'll take the credit.

I won at the end and came to Hanyang.

So as I hoped, you appointed me

as the 6th Primary Royal Guard, as Your Majesty showed favor to me.

Really?

Is that true?

Yes, Your Majesty.

It is true, Your Majesty.

So all three of you planned this...

... and used the Crown Prince's name?

I'm so sorry, Your Majesty.

This is the truth.

We were too close for a long time...

...and I thought of the Crown Prince as my friend.

I didn't even think I should report it to him.

Yes, Your Majesty.

After the probation and losing our position,

we did this wanting to get our position back.

Your Majesty.

The Crown Prince is awake now.

Yeah?

Would you like to meet him?

No, before that get the investigator.

Yes, Your Majesty.

The Three Musketeers...

...they have committed a serious crime...

...I can't forgive them.

So I'll punish them right now.

The investigation is not over yet...

Heo Seung-po, Ahn Min-seo, and Park Dal-hyang...

Hang them immediately.

Your Highness.

I'm sorry to tell you this when you just woke up.

What's going on?

There's something I couldn't say.

While you were unconscious

Heo Seung-po, Ahn Min-seo, and Park Dal-hyang

were sent to the Royal Prison and interrogated for the Anju case.

All the story was revealed

and His Majesty got very upset.

He sentenced them to death by hanging.

What?

He said to execute immediately.

What should we do?

How can he be so hasty about the judgment?

I wasn't even investigated...

They told the king they used...

...your name and planned all this.

They lied to protect you.

Those fools...

Why are they here by the way?

To meet whom?

What?

Is there anything else you didn't tell me?

Your Highness.

Why are you all here?

I heard she went to her parents'.

She won't last long.

Right, she hasn't woken up for a few days now.

They said it's miracle she's still breathing.

Oh my...

Crown Prince! You're awake!

How are you feeling?

She was like this since then?

Yes, Your Highness.

She didn't wake up once.

They said she was recovering.

We didn't tell you so you can recover faster.

It's good you're well at least.

The king is here!

Their act was very vicious.

I'm deeply angry and here to see their end myself.

Proceed.

Proceed!

Get up.

Do you regret it?

Regret it now, right?

Why did you interrupt?

If you kept quiet, it'll be just us two dying.

Who told you to be The Three Musketeers?

We all die anyway.

It's better to die together

than alone.

I have no regret.

Good bye.

This is crazy.

Wait!

Please wait, Your Majesty.

It's the Crown Prince!

That dude is always late...

Are we going to live?

We're going to live?

Your Majesty.

The Crown Prince is coming.

Should we halt the execution?

What are you doing? Proceed!

Wait!

Please wait!

I see you're here.

I need to tell you something.

Please halt it for awhile.

Are you here hearing your friends' sad news?

It's a pity but they used your name behind your back,

and deceived the government in the name of The Three Musketeers.

I'm the other member of The Three Musketeers.

Stop the execution.

Stop it!

What did you just say?

They said it's them.

That's not true.

It's not Park Dal-hyang.

I'm the member of the Three Musketeers.

They just followed my order faithfully.

So please ask me

to take responsibility.

Are you admitting that you deceived your father and the country,

manipulated the facts, and helped the enemy behind my back?

Yes, Your Majesty.

You used the Crown Princess to hide Yong Gol-dae

and when the their adultery rumor spreads

you secretly went to Anju to burry the story,

by threatening the governor and my servant.

You sent Park Dal-hyang to Hanyang to destroy the report.

Do you admit that all?

Yes, Your Majesty.

If that's all true...

...do you even deserve to be a corwn prince?

No, Your Majesty.

I'm not qualified as a crown prince.

I don't have the capability to lead the people.

I now clearly know and regret that...

...I can't even save my close friends.

Are you saying you have nothing...

...to say even if you're dethroned?

I have nothing say, Your Majesty.

The Crown Prince said himself he will step down.

If he's not qualified as a crown prince...

...he doesn't have the rights to protect them either.

Whoever the member is...

it's still the Three Musketeers...

deceived me, manipulated the case,

and helped the barbarians behind my back.

So if you're one of them...

...you must be punished too.

Your Majesty.

The Three Musketeer's deeds should be ruled as death.

Park Dal-hyang should also die for his false testimony.

Hang all four of them.

Your Majesty.

He just recovered himself.

You can investigate this later...

This won't solve anything, Your Majesty.

We should discuss first...

What are you doing?

Get the Crown Prince up there now!

Your Majesty.

Please forgive the Crown Prince.

You can't do this, Your Majesty.

He confessed himself, so there's no chance.

Proceed.

It shouldn't be, Your Majesty.

- Please, Your Majesty. - Please, Your Majesty.

- Your Majesty! - Your Majesty!

What the...

Who told you to die with us?

Do you think we'll be grateful?

This is a meaningless death!

Then I confessed for no reason.

Why did you come?

You should have rested.

I'm sorry.

Do you all want to die?

What are you all doing?

How do you feel up there?

Are you scared?

Now you see how big your crime is?

What do you think up there?

I regret it.

Regret what?

I made them die

when they're innocent.

I put my wife's life in danger.

I was foolish not seeing her sincerity.

I ruled the evil with evil.

Also, I killed someone as a crown prince.

I also had them...

...deceive the government.

What's happening today

is all my fault.

So are you saying

you want to die alone?

If that's possible...

...yes, Your Majesty.

Your Highness.

Your Majesty.

The Crown Prince's reflecting on himself.

Please forgive him.

Please forgive him, Your Majesty.

Proceed.

Stop.

Stop!

Bring Choi Myeong-gil who went to the countryside.

The teacher is at fault

for all this.

Yes, Your Majesty.

We'll discuss again about the Crown Prince's dethronement

and their punishment.

Come back inside.

Your Highness!

Open the door!

Your Highness.

Bring the doctor again.

- Hurry! - Yes.

Whoa!

Oh, who's here?

Park Dal-hyang from Gangwon-do.

I thought you went out to die?

How did you come back alive?

What a long life.

This is why you can't trust yourself too much.

You never know what's going to happen tomorrow.

The king is indecisive, but he's not stupid.

Since he knows his son fooled him...

...even if you're alive today,

your life won't be easy.

You can die again tomorrow.

Don't look at me like that.

I'm not your enemy.

Since you're young, you divide...

...people into your enemy or friend.

The enemy is going around taking turns.

Even if it's taking turns, the enemy is still an enemy.

Wouldn't it be funny if I don't think of you as an enemy...

...when you tried to kill me so brutally?

If a war were to start now...

...who's the enemy?

It's Yong Gol-dae, not me.

So,

if I were to save you guys...

...am I still your enemy?

Or

am I on your side?

I hate you two.

It's true I can only trust you.

That's my grief.

Your Majesty.

For what happened today...

Don't you make any excuses!

I didn't call you to hear your excuse.

Yes.

I wanted to talk.

About what, Your Majesty?

To speak the truth,

I'm scared of my son.

I've had these feeling sometimes, but this time I'm sure.

So I brought him out to the execution site...

...to see how he'll react.

What I wanted was him begging...

...and crying for forgiveness.

He couldn't have thought he'd be hung.

I thought he'd blame others then.

I wanted to teach him a lesson.

Did you hear that?

He went up there.

He even asked if he can die alone.

I don't like that about him.

You can think of it as manliness.

He's brave.

I don't want a son who is braver than I am.

If the leader is determined like that...

...more people will follow him.

What if he has more people following than me in the future?

That's nothing to worry about.

It can't be.

Park Dal-hyang is the Primary Royal Guard!

He belongs to be, who should serve me!

Instead, he lied to me to protect the Crown Prince...

...and even was ready to die for him!

You think that's nothing to worry about?

The young blood values loyalty the most.

Your Majesty.

Then are you thinking...

...of the dethronement of the Crown Prince?

That's an option in my mind.

Your Majesty!

How about you keep them...

...and use them instead?

You've built a favorable...

...relationship with Later Jin.

At the times like this

if you change your heir now...

...it will confuse our neighboring countries, Ming and Later Jin.

Please watch over them and use the Crown Prince

for the relationship with Later Jin.

This will recover your disgrace while...

...Later Jin will think of us fondly.

Are you siding with the Crown Prince now?

I...

...only worry about the future of Joseon.

What do you think?

I think the Commander-in-Chief has a point.

I'm not sure if I can...

...trust my own son anymore.

If you can't...

...you can watch over him.

This is not a decision you have to rush to make.

Shouldn't we tell him?

He's not even awake...

...how should we?

We're in the mourning period though.

He doesn't even know she's...

Let's tell him later.

He needs to recover first.

He needs to know before the funeral ends.

If he finds out later...

Your Highness.

Are you crying?

Why are you crying?

Did you have a bad dream?

Your Highness.

Am I

dreaming now?

What?

Are you...

...really alive?

What?

Her Highness Jungbin passed away last night.

We were worried since she was old,

but all of sudden last night...

We couldn't tell you because you weren't awake.

Did you cry thinking I was dead?

I'm alive...

...you were the one who's been sick for a long time.

You...

...really were crying...

...thinking I died?

Really?

Oh my...

I'm glad I'm alive.

Who'd ever know?

You cried for me.

Forget it.

What?

Erase this from your memory forever.

If you bring this up again...

...I won't forgive you.

I'll think about it...

...it depends how you do.

Did you just say you'll think about it?

I'm not scared of anything after I almost died.

I'm not scared of you at all now.

Don't smile

we're in the period of mourning.

Don't smile, we're in the period of mourning.

At your service, Emperor.

It's our first snow this year.

Yes, Your Majesty.

As you disagreed, I've been only watching Joseon.

Joseon's king has no hope.

Get ready.

Once the River is frozen...

...we'll conquer Joseon.

After a few months,

the war started.

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

What is it?

War...

It's a war!

What?

The Emperor of the babarians is leading the military himself.

They're already close to Kaesong.

I don't want to talk

about the miserable war everyone knows about.

I don't want to remember

the scared face of the king I was serving.

Hurry up!

Hurry!

Run!

Hurry!

The look of him fleeing while abandoning his people.

Also the sorrow of the day the Crown Prince...

...and Crown Princess were sent to Later Jin as hostages.

Also, the palace with no master only hurts me.

So I'll skip the time.

Two years after the Crown Prince

and Crown Princess were sent to Later Jin...

...my story starts again when I arrived in

Shimyang, the capital of the Later Jin...

...carrying out the king's order.

We'll go to Shimyangguan tomorrow.

Now it's too late.

Okay.

Didn't you tell me you know them personally?

Very well.

Then you can go greet them first.

We don't need to go through procedures.

I've already sent them a message.

You did?

Heo Seung-po should be here with his bottle by now.

There he is.

How come you are alone?

Did you tell him I'm here?

No, he wasn't there.

- What about Ahn Min-seo? - He wasn't there either.

What about the Crown Prince?

They said he's out.

No one is here?

Right, all three of them weren't there, so I just came back.

They should know I arrive here today.

They said they went to take care some urgent matters.

Urgent matters...?

Ha!

If you're free, let's go drink together.

Sure.

Is there any place we can go around here?

Why is it so loud here?

Let's sit here.

Sure.

Here's a servant girl!

Isn't that a girl from Joseon?

They must have been caught after running away.

- 10 nyang. - 10 nyang.

- 80 nyang. - 80 nyang.

That bastard...

They hit her and stepped on her...

Overlook this.

This is everyday life.

We're in their country.

What would you like?

Drink.

Give me some drink.

Okay.

Why is he...?

Excuse me.

Huh?

Oh!

What are you...

Hey! It have been a while!

Look at me. You look better now?

Nothing compared to me yet.

How have you been?

I missed you!

Me too.

Tani waited for you so long, why did you come now?

You didn't get the letter?

What letter?

I sent many of Tani's letters to you...

...but there was no reply.

It must be because I moved.

By the way, who's Tani?

Tani!

Tani! The one you promised to get married to.

What?

Did you promise you'll marry her if she saves you?

She said you must keep that promise!

Oh.

Now you're here finally.

Tani will be so joyful.

Get married here while you're here.

What nonsense...

The Three Musketeers.

The Three Musketeers.

The Three Musketeers are here!

Isn't that Ahn Min-seo?

Look at him.

Jeez. I'll see you later.

I think they're from Joseon.

What are they?

The Three Musketeers.

What?

The Three...what?

They're my friends.

Look over there.

If you're free come join us.

We're short of staff here.

What's going on?

You know we never do bad things.

Please wait here a while.

Let me help them.

Well... Wait!

Wait!

How have you been?

I've been fine.

I was worried about this place.

I didn't know you're having fun here.

We're not going anywhere.

The Three Musketeers.

Are they The Three Musketeers?

Yes, they're The Three Musketeers.

The Three Musketeers were more famous on the continent than Joseon.

They all know you?

They don't know the face of Crown Prince anyway.

We can simply hit and run here.

They slaughtered slaves from Joseon.

Let's make them pay the price.

Kill them all.

There seemed to be more things for them to do here.

As well as for me who got caught up with them at instant.

Who is that?

Wait...

How can it be?

How did you survive?

Are you surprised?

My cursed life is too long.

Why did you come here?

You made a promise you didn't keep.

I'm dead because of that.

Now...

...you need to pay what you owe me.

Are you still interested...

...in the Crown Princess position?

- That's all in the past... - No.

I don't need that stupid position.

It's meaningless to me.

I want to be...

...the king's woman.
