Park Dal-hyang's Life...?

I'm Park Dal-hyang from Gangwon-do.

What are your names?

The three musketeers.

She is married to the Crown Prince of this country.

Congratulations...

...on passing the exam.

How will the barbarians...

...insult me, again?

The enemy brought a letter...

...calling their king an emperor...

...and changing our relationship...

...from brothers to a master and servant.

They're here.

I just saw Mi-ryung.

How is that possible?

How will you protect this country?

It'll be hard to serve this country...

...as a military officer during these times.

Bang Bang Eui.

Have you ever been there?

You find the woman you lost that night.

Her name is Mi-ryung.

She might call herself Hyang-sun.

Did you happened to lose...

...any letters, perhaps?

Now carry out my order.

I'll behead him myself!

Bring it on.

Listen to me.

Protect Yong Gol-dae...

...before his head sent to Ming Emperor.

Are you not...

...being loved?

How disrespectful.

The king's order comes first.

Draw your sword.

I won.

They found out about me.

Wake up!

You said someone promised loyalty to the enemy?

Commander-in-Chief, can you be accountable for your words?

He could even be inside here right now.

I found her.

Is she a court lady from the Crown Prince' court?

Yes.

Court Lady Kim is dead?

I'm sorry...

...but I just identified the body.

I don't...

...understand what you are saying.

She got stabbed outside the palace?

Why?

I think she's the one who stole the letter.

I told others that she was robbed.

I know you're shocked...

...but you must stay strong.

How much do you know about this?

I try not to ask since the Crown Prince didn't want me to...

...but I can't tolerate this anymore.

Who is this woman?

Why is she snooping around me?

Say it!

Her name is Mi-ryung.

Who is she?

She was selected as the wife of the Crown Prince before you.

But didn't she die?

I thought that's why I was selected instead.

But she was alive.

How?

I heard she hung herself, for sure.

Then it wasn't true?

Why in the world...

Your Highness.

That Mi-ryung we knew is dead for sure.

But...

But?

Her servant, Hyang-sun, who pretended to be Mi-ryung...

...is still alive.

Yes, her real name is Hyang-sun.

Everyone knows her as Mi-ryung though.

It's been a while.

I would have never guessed you are still alive.

How have you been?

How I've been?

What do you think?

What are you curious about?

My last 5 years?

Or...

...how I didn't die that night?

Both.

I heard...

...you hung yourself.

I sure did.

The servants helped me got hung on a rafter.

Saying it's an order from the Crown Prince.

Kill yourself.

No!

I don't want to die!

I didn't do anything wrong!

Let me meet the Crown Prince!

Just once!

Let me talk to him please!

Light a fire.

Want me to die?

You'll let me die like this?

No!

No!

Fire!

Get up!

It's fire!

Everyone abandoned me.

But one servant saved me.

Now you're dead.

There's no Mi-ryung nor Hyang-sun.

You should thank me for saving you.

Thank you.

So now...

...you're mine.

What are you doing?

You really didn't know?

I've been liking you all this time!

Do you know how devastated I was?

Seeing you dating the Crown Prince pretending to be Lady Mi-ryung.

I knew this would happen.

You can't love the person that's not meant for you.

But we're well suited.

Don't touch me.

Stop!

I knew it then.

That all men are the same.

They pretend to be sincere...

...but they always have their own purpose.

They're all the same.

Whether it's a servant or a Crown Prince.

So I killed him.

I made it look like a suicide.

This time...

A merchant blindly in love with me helped.

I suffer no guilt.

I didn't do anything wrong.

It was all of you who used me.

I never asked to be Mi-ryung.

But they forced me to.

I just did what they told me...

...since I was only a slave!

I didn't want to die...

...for something I had no part in.

So I ran away from this country

with all my strength left.

Thank you for the food.

Thank you.

- Excuse me! - Yes.

Now you feel better?

I'm going to Later Jin, do you want to come with me?

Of course.

I pity you, so I won't take money.

I've used my body to cross the border.

Then I learned how to control men.

With that, I even became the 6th wife...

...of one of the wealthiest Manchu men.

What's going on?

Something is wrong with him!

He doesn't wake up!

Sir!

Sir!

He's dead...

Master is dead.

Master is dead!

Thankfully he died early.

And I received my share of the inheritance.

After I had money and time...

...I thought of you.

The first man who made me

into who I am now.

So I met Kim Ja-jeom.

I needed...

...a connection to meet the Crown Prince.

Coincidentally, he needed a spy who speaks Manchu.

But...

...I didn't know...

...I'd see you again so easily.

I was going to approach you...

...slowly and quietly to surprise you.

It must be so horrible for you.

The woman you thought dead is alive.

No.

I was glad to see you alive.

I regretted the last 5 years everyday.

For having...

...ordered your death like that.

Lie.

You came here to pay me back?

Fine.

This is your chance.

Do you think I'm still that innocent Mi-ryung?

Do you even know how I'm going to...

- ...pay you? - Either way.

I have no words for you.

Yeah?

So, you're okay...

...with whatever?

You'll regret this.

Stop.

Step outside.

I have a sword too.

- I'll take care of it. - No way.

No servant would back up after seeing this.

Don't interrupt.

It's between us.

Stay outside.

Does it hurt?

Does it hurt a lot?

How much?

As much as you could die?

Just like when I was hung?

Not that much, right?

I missed you.

Has the Crown Prince replied yet?

No, sir.

No reply.

All day? No response...

I gave him until tonight.

Should we prepare the back-up plan?

Are you watching the Crown Prince's palace closely?

Yes, I'm keeping an eye on his library area.

And the Crown Prince hasn't returned

to the palace after visiting here.

He is out of options anyway.

He'll come to me, for sure.

Let's wait a bit more.

Do you want a drink?

Are you okay?

Leave with her.

Kim Ja-jeom will attack soon.

Leave immediately.

Don't stop and go straight to the border crossing.

And never...

...come back to this country.

Got it?

Let's go.

What is he talking about?

He said to leave since Kim Ja-jeom will attack us!

What have you done?

Let's find the doctor first.

It's been too long.

The bleeding stopped, it will be alright.

Wait.

Don't go after them.

Let them go.

They poisoned court ladies...

...and killed Court Lady Kim as well.

And they stabbed you twice.

We can't let the murderers get away.

I got the letter back.

So we don't need to go after her.

And let the authorities take care of murderers.

You claimed it was yours...

...so you take care of it.

Now you've learned how savage Hanyang could be.

In this city, you never can reminisce about your first love.

Look what happened to me by doing that.

Where are you going?

I'm going to see my teacher.

You've completed your mission.

You may continue your journey.

You've done it well...

...faster than I expected.

I was going to include you in my team...

...once you complete this mission.

But I guess our destiny ends here.

Too bad.

Actually...

...the Crown Princess asked me to keep you away from me.

Though I'm not sure who that's for.

Good bye.

I'll take you to his house.

It's okay, it's close.

Allow me.

I want to go alone.

Later, Park Dal-hyang...

...wrote of that day in his memoire.

The Crown Prince's words were all correct.

Carrying out the king's order was only an excuse.

I didn't like him from the start.

I was upset that he took my woman.

And he didn't even love her.

It seemed he didn't deserve my loyalty...

...or my woman's devotion.

But that day...

...I changed my mind...

...seeing him covered in blood.

I learned then, the first love could be so cruel.

Maybe that woman, Mi-ryung was the same.

Your Highness!

Your Highness!

Who is it?

- It's...the Prin... - Hush.

Where's the minister?

Ah, this way!

Sir!

What's going on?

What?

Oh my.

What's going on?

- Your Highness. - Your Highness.

- What happened? - Your Highness.

He's been stabbed.

He's bled a lot.

Is anyone out there?

Yes, sir.

I think the Crown Prince has chosen the wrong side.

I was too hopeful.

I guess it's like father, like son.

I need to go to the palace. Get ready.

Are you going to tell the king about Yong Gol-dae?

He's not an easy card to toss away.

But...

...we will abandon the Crown Prince here.

It won't be too hard.

Suspicion is the king's close friend.

And I've already started the fire.

In order to capture Yong Gol-dae...

...we must identify the betrayers within.

Our real enemy is not Later Jin, but the traitors!

Maybe they're in a higher position...

...than we think.

Maybe they are inside the palace even now.

No, not him.

Sim Ki-won...no.

Yoon Ji..no.

Juh Won, there's no way.

Your Majesty.

Are you looking for something?

- Please tell me... - Kim...

No. He has no guts.

Yoon Jung-ho...

Kim Sang-chun?

No!

Choi Myeong-gil.

Choi Myeong-gil.

No, he's a straight man.

No way.

Your Majesty, what's wrong?

They're not here!

Who is it?

Who is deceiving me!

Get the Crown Prince.

I'd like to discuss this with him.

Yes, Your Majesty.

How dare he not come when he's right here!

Father.

That day.

It was July 6th, that day.

What?

That day of the letter...

Maybe they're in a higher position...

...than we think.

The real Mi-ryung's body was found in a well.

Your Highness!

Please kill me!

What's wrong?

Get up.

It's all my fault!

I should've died...

...but my dear daughter died instead!

Hyang-sun will be...

...my scar forever!

Your Highness.

Eunuch Koo is here.

Let him in.

Is he here yet?

No, not yet...

Don't tell him about what I heard.

He doesn't want me to know about Hyang-sun.

I understand.

But, Your Highness.

The king is looking for you.

Me?

Why?

He was looking for the Crown Prince...

...and I told him he's over at Mr. Choi's house.

Suddenly, His Majesty asked for you instead.

We should let the palace know.

What do you mean?

The wound isn't too deep, and he'd have been fine

if the bleeding had been stopped...

...but he's bled too much.

We need royal doctors.

It's dangerous.

This will be the great flaw in my history.

Let's move him to the palace.

Call the doctors.

But how should we report this?

People know the betrayer is wounded.

Kim Ja-jeom must be on his way to His Majesty after waiting.

His Majesty will suspect if he finds out about being stabbed.

Right.

Before we save Yong Gol-dae's head...

...we'll lose all of ours.

You're right.

Then our only choice is Kim Ja-jeom.

There's no choice but to beg him on knees.

Even if we have to give him the lead, we must survive first...

But the Crown Prince said...

...he wouldn't work with him.

He even said we should get rid of him...

What should we do now?

We have no choice!

He's in danger now!

Where you two have been?

Who did it?

Why it was just you two? What's going on?

I'm not allowed to say...

Do you even understand the situation?

The next in line for the crown is in danger of dying!

After going out with you...

...he's covered in blood with no explanation!

Tell me all you know.

Who did it?

What is this?

He jeopardized his life for this.

Did you buy Kim Ja-jeom's man?

How did you get this information?

Sir.

Let me ask one thing.

What is it to protect the country?

What?

You asked me...

...to think about how I'd protect my country.

I've thought long and hard, but there was no answer.

The more I thought, the more confused I became.

Yes,

I see all the justifications, practicalities, and opportunism.

But...

...I don't know what's the right way.

Is what the Crown Prince is doing right?

Is protecting Yong Gol-dae...

...worth the life of the Crown Prince?

I know it's to prevent the war...

but on the other hand, it's to deceive and betray the king, no?

Can the purpose overrule the process?

History will judge if our choice was right.

But, how can we defend one who doesn't value the people's blood?

If some say they'll sacrifice the people for a mere justification,

I won't forgive them.

That's my answer.

Even if it's the king?

That's for you to answer.

I have my answer.

You make your own answer.

You have the choice.

If you take their justification...

...you serve the government with all your heart...

...and take the opportunistic path...

...you go to Kim Ja-jeom...

...and you'll likely become successful.

If you take practicality, you'll help us.

If you don't want any of them...

...you may leave here as a commoner.

What is that, teacher?

We have a way out now.

You must be punished for failing...

...to protect the Crown Prince as his guards.

As expected, yes?

And what will you do?

How will you protect the country?

Decide here.

I will...

Step aside.

What?

What are you doing?

Why are you pouring alcohol...

You pack.

- We need to go. - What do you mean?

But we need to save him...

It's a way to save him.

So pack immediately.

- Get the guns. - Huh?

What's going on?

What is it?

Is it war?

We need more people. So come with me.

Where are we going?

Where are we going with a gun?

Is my wife sleeping now?

Wife. Dear.

Get up.

Hey.

It's been a while.

You become prettier everyday.

You look pretty even when you just woke up.

When did you come in?

I have an urgent matter.

Can I borrow some money?

What?

300 nyang will be good.

Don't you have some for emergency?

300 nyang.

You've returned home after days!

And the first thing you ask for is money!

You think it's easy to make money?

Relax.

Wow, you look so sexy.

Let me hug you...

Get off me!

Come on.

Lend it to me.

We might not be able to see each other for awhile.

What?

The authorities are around.

Once we shoot a gun, they'll be here quickly.

You guys...

...are you ready to die with your master?

What's this in the middle of night?

I should've gone with Mr. Park Dal-hyang!

Here or there, it's the same.

He's still here.

What?

Excuse me!

Are you the Commander-in-Chief, Minister Kim Ja-jeom?

Yes?

I'm here with the Crown Prince's reply.

He just made his decision?

I almost met with the king since he was so late.

By the way, I've never seen you.

Who are you?

I'm Park Dal-hyang from Gangwon-do.

I'm asking your position.

You don't seem like a royal guard for the Crown Prince.

I don't have one yet.

I'm not official.

How can you do this work then?

That's not important here.

Read that first.

Bring the fire.

This is not the Crown Prince's handwriting.

Minister Choi Myeong-gil wrote it for him.

Choi Myeong-gil?

Why is he involved again?

I have a list of all the names and money sources....

...who promised their loyalty to Later Jin.

Who has the upper hand now?

Now we both know each other's weaknesses.

So let's keep quiet.

The Crown Prince politely refuses your offer.

This is his answer.

So he took his time just to say this?

He thinks he can threaten me with it?

How?

How is this proof?

It's only a copy.

Of course not.

That's why we gave it to you.

What?

The original with your signature is with the Crown Prince.

Open the door!

Open it!

What brings you here, sir?

Is your master here?

He's in the palace.

You should head to the palace.

No.

I'm not here for him.

I'm here for the money that belongs to me.

Money?

My money.

My lost money. 300 nyang.

What are you saying?

Are you drunk?

Yep.

So what?

- What are you doing? - Guys!

Go in and find my money!

Yes, sir!

Sir!

Sir!

What is this sound?

- It's there! - There?

No, no!

It's there!

I knew I'd need it.

The original you hid in your room behind the divider.

Sir! The guards are here!

What should we do now?

You go out and hand this to the teacher.

You'll die if you lose this.

Hurry!

Sir.

I finally found it, my 300 nyang!

Then.

Wait.

So, I've had it all this time.

I admit it, but let me ask you one thing.

Who gave you this information?

My father said this to me when I was leaving my hometown.

Always be careful of a woman, whenever, wherever you are.

The Crown Prince will give in, eventually.

It will go as we planned.

Yeah?

That's good.

He's better than his father...

...but he's still a kid.

He's probably scared by now.

So we'll continue with the plan.

Let me know if you need anything.

I'll spare no expense for you.

I will.

It was that witch, Hyang-sun.

She was with them.

What?

Where is she staying right now?

I'm here.

The Crown Prince is not in his palace?

No.

He went to meet his teacher, Minister Choi Myeong-gil.

We gave him a notice, so he'll be back soon.

Are you telling me the truth?

Your Majesty?

You must tell me nothing but the truth.

15 days ago, I went to his room...

...since he didn't come when I called him.

Everyone said he was drunk...

...and sleeping deeply.

So did you.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Is that the truth?

He didn't go outside of the palace?

What...are you...

He went out, but arrived right before I entered that room.

Tell me the truth.

Answer me!

Your Majesty.

Why all of sudden...

Why do you hesitate? I'm only asking...

Were there any lies?

No, it's not...

You're lying! You're shaking now!

What did you lie about?

All of the Crown Prince's people have lied to me!

Is he really...

...part of the treason?

No way!

- How can... - Should I...

...have to suspect my own son?

Why do you make me so miserable?

Tell me it's not true!

Tell me there was something else.

Why don't you even make an excuse?

What happened that day!

Your Majesty.

The Head of the King's Guard is here.

What's going on?

He has something urgent to report.

Let him in.

What's going on?

Your Majesty.

There's someone who'd like to see you...

...saying that the Crown Prince is in danger.

Danger?

What kind?

He said it's a secret, he will only tell you.

Come inside.

Who are you?

I've seen you before.

I'm Park Dal-hyang from Yungjubdogam department.

He's the one who shot the horse at the exam.

Oh, right!

It was you who made the mess.

But what's going on?

He's in danger?

The Crown Prince...

...got stabbed outside the palace just now...

...and severly injured.

What did you just say?

We prepared a secret room here for her.

Open it.

Yes, sir.

Turn the light on.

It's blood.

There must have been a fight.

Where did this witch go?

Sir.

There's someone there.

Isn't it the Crown Prince?

Is he dead?

He's not dead.

What is this...

Why would the Crown Prince here?

What is...

- You can't go in. - What? Step aside!

The Crown Prince is here!

Take His Highness to the royal doctors!

Yes, sir!

- Your Highness! - Your Highness!

Now!

You're Commander-in-Chief.

Why are you here?

Why are you here right now, Minister Kim?

I don't know.

Why is he here?

Weren't you at the parlor?

I don't remember, I was too drunk.

What?

He got into a fight after gambling?

He's into gambling these days...

...so no one could stop him.

He made a secret room...

...and used to have big games.

Tonight was big betting too and a fight occurred.

But the guy didn't recognize the Crown Prince...

- ...and he stabbed... - Who did it?

They usually don't exchange names there.

I just know he's a rich man...

...that's all.

Officer Heo Seung-po was drunk and chased after him for the money.

And the Crown Prince left to fight then...

You guys!

I'm just trying to get my money back! Why are you doing this to me?

We are royal guards serving the Crown Prince.

How dare you tie me up like this?

Shut up!

Don't listen to him!

We're not the Crown Prince's guards! No, we're not!

How can those people work for the government?

Then when he disappeared last time...

...it was for gambling?

Did you know about it?

Is that why you lied...?

I'm so sorry.

It's all my fault!

I couldn't stop him...

How can he gamble in this situation, as the Crown Prince?

Gambling the night away?

How pathetic!

Pathetic!

Guards, bring the Crown Prince immediately!

- Yes, sir! - Yes, sir!

They said they found the Crown Princes' guards.

Where?

At Minister Kim Ja-jeom's house, drunk and causing problems...

...trying to find their lost money.

Sir, you should come with us.

Where?

Why should I?

His Majesty is furious now.

He said he's going to punish everyone involved today.

You'd need to explain...

...why you were here to him.

Take him!

- Yes, sir! - Yes, sir!

With him!

Take them to the authority!

Yes, sir!

Who are you again?

I'm Park Dal-hyang from Gangwon-do.

Park Dal-hyang.

I'll remember that name.

The Crown Prince had his hidden cards.

I didn't see that part.

Hyang-sun and Park Dal-hyang.

It's getting interesting.

Right.

This is what the Crown Prince is like.

He can't live by himself.

He needs people.

I'll see you again.

Get off me.

Get off.

I'll go on my own.

One, two, three!

Your Highness.

Are you okay?

Your Highness.

We're on our way to the palace. Please stay strong.

What happened?

Get out of the way!

Come this way!

Wait.

How are you feeling?

Why are you still here?

I'm not going home.

I can't go home.

I heard how you tricked me.

So that bet doesn't count.

When you get stronger...

...we'll fight again.

You'll live in the prison the rest of your life.

How will you compete with me again?

You'll release me...

...since I'm your person.

You won't leave me alone.

Who said you're my person?

That's what everyone thinks.

Including Mi-ryung, Kim Ja-jeom, and His Majesty.

So you have no choice.

I'm your person.

I'm very stubborn.

So if I decide one way, I only see that way.

So please prove it.

That my choice was...

...right.

Your Highness.

We need to go.

Let's go.

Hurry.

Are you Hyang-sun?

How do you know me?

You're the only person who can help the Crown Prince.

What can I help?

Reconcile?

Did you tell me to reconcile with the barbarians?

People are easy to get confused.

And they'll be shaken by horror!

That's the people's mind!

You better not show your face... until you have news for a baby.

Wait! Wait!

Does it hurt?

You've gone through a lot.

I'm...

...your wife.
