[Episode 12]

Who else is in your house?

Granny,

elder aunt...

But she's annoying. Ignore her.

A daughter and son of my elder uncle.

And Master's wife.

Enough, lead the way.

I'm not finished.

There's another girl, her name is Xiao Lian.

Whatever. Just lead the way.

[Tolerance]

We're here. This is the place.

This girl is quite good looking.

I've endured for a month, I can't take it anymore.

Brother Liu.

You two go in and kill whoever.

Let me handle her.

Who are you people?

You'll know soon enough.

[Help!]

[Help!]

Dong Fang, Dong Yuan!

Hide!

Help!

Another one.

She's even prettier.

Unfortunately, she's pregnant.

She's Huo Yuan Jia's wife!

I leave it to you.

Do as you wish with them.

Let's go in...

to kill that old woman and the children.

Thank you, brother.

Nobody can enter!

You all know my husband is Huo Yuan Jia.

His pupils are all skilled in martial arts.

If you don't leave, I'll take you to the magistrate court.

You know the magistrate, right?

That's his best friend.

Don't you care for your heads?

The magistrate?

He's my friend.

He can't wait to behead your husband.

You're bearing Huo Yuan Jia's child.

I'll kill you and your child to vent my hate!

Stop!

How dare you be rude to the madam!

Brat.

You awkward thing clearly isn't part of the Huos.

I'll let you go today.

Leave!

Leave!

Leave!

A master is like a father.

Of course I'm a part of Huo Family.

I'll show you if you don't leave.

I won't go easy on you!

You're really stubborn.

I'll leave him to you.

Xiao Wu, careful!

Xiao Wu!

Go away.

Go away!

Xiao Lian, help madam go inside.

Xiao Lian, go and take that big sword.

Yes.

Attack!

Why are you taking that sword?

Madam Wang wants it.

Xiao Wu!

Xiao Wu!

Madam Wang!

This...

is the precious sword given by Big Sword Wang Wu.

I dare you to come!

Why are you two standing there?

Kill that brat.

We'll take on this woman together.

The sword in her hand...

is worth some money.

[Tolerance]

Xiao Wu!

Xiao Wu!

Xiao Wu!

Madam Wang!

Madam Wang!

Xiao Wu!

Protect madam...

Xiao Wu!

Blood...

Madam, you're bleeding.

Madam Wang is bleeding!

Take her inside!

Brother!

Hero, please spare me.

Hero, please spare me!

Spare you?

You killed my junior, how dare you beg me?

Xiao Wu,

I will avenge you!

Your junior is alive, he's barely breathing.

Xiao Wu!

Xiao Wu!

He's lucky.

He's just injured.

I think he can be cured.

[Inn]

-Master. -How is it?

I asked around in the market...

but there's no news about Hu Liu.

We found his house but it's locked.

He's not local.

Nobody knows about his hometown.

Seems like he didn't go back to Dongguang.

Did he really fall to his death?

But,

I didn't find his corpse.

Ah Fa.

Did you ask the owner of Zhen Yuan Security Agency?

Yes.

He only knows that Hu Liu is a friend of Magistrate Xue.

He said that Five Tigers of Cang Mountain also had contact with Hu Liu.

Seems like...

I need to meet Magistrate Xue.

[Fair and Impartial in Judgement]

[Shun, Silence]

Sir, a man named Huo Yuan Jia asked to see you.

[Magistrate Court of Dongguang] [Protect the People]

Warrior Huo.

It's hard on you.

Let's talk inside.

Come.

Brother Jun Qing, please.

The official goods have arrived successfully.

This is an acceptance signed by Shouyang Magistrate Court.

Please take a look, sir.

Brother Jun Qing.

There are only you and me here.

Didn't we say that...

we'll call each other as brothers in private?

Such a big thing happened in Shouyang but you didn't mention a word.

Is this document...

your idea of...

deliberately humiliating me?

[Self-integrity]

You tore the receipt.

Does this mean I'm not doing a good job...

so the magistrate will not be paying me?

Brother Jun Qing.

Why are you acting dumb with me?

I received an official document from Shouyang two days ago.

The official goods are fake.

That daring Hu Liu replaced the precious medicinal herbs with opium!

So you already knew it.

Aren't those opium yours?

Huo Yuan Jia!

Who do you think I am?

Follow me!

[Kind and Virtuous]

Move.

Huo Yuan Jia.

Look at this.

On the day Hu Liu returned to Dongguang,

I received the official document from Shouyang.

I captured Hu Liu immediately.

I didn't expect him to collude with prison guards...

and ran away yesterday night.

I'm drafting a document...

to be sent to all magistrates...

and catch him together.

If Hu Liu was instructed by me,

would I have done this?

Would I ask all county courts to help the government...

capture the witness to convict me?

Huo Yuan Jia.

How dare you doubt me.

It was my mistake.

You've really let me down.

Magistrate.

I'll leave now.

Wait.

Brother Jun Qing.

You can suspect me...

because this thing is really strange.

Even I find it hard to believe.

I don't know what trick Hu Liu did.

He has fooled you and me.

However,

Brother Jun Qing,

You have an open mind and care about the people.

You did a great job at Shouyang.

It's good that you burnt the opium.

It helped vent the anger,

satisfied the people's grievances.

Your hometown is at Dongguang.

You're helping Dongguang Magistrate Court to send official goods to Shouyang.

As the magistrate of Dongguang,

I'm proud too.

What's wrong?

You still don't believe me?

Look at this.

An official document to Tianjin Magistrate Court?

There's no magistrate court in Tianjin.

Yes.

In the one month you were away,

the Westerner and our government have reached an agreement.

The Western provisional government was abolished.

Tianjin is under the ruling of our government again.

Do you want to bring your family back there?

But...

Read the document first.

You wrote so highly of me.

I'm grateful.

You were constantly put in danger while on the job.

A few of your pupils almost lost their lives.

That...

That was not my intention.

Why?

You bear grudges towards me?

You don't want to be friends anymore?

Don't say so, magistrate.

You're still calling me as magistrate.

Brother Wen Tao.

Thank you very much.

I'm the one who should be thankful.

If not for your sharp eyes,

that Hu Liu would most likely have caused more trouble.

Brother Wen Tao.

I came from a poor family.

I studied hard for ten years to be an official.

Since I became an official,

I've been cautious.

But I made a mistake...

and let Hu Liu cause trouble around me.

I let the government down...

and I'm guilty to the people.

Master.

Master, you're back.

Zhen Sheng, how is it?

The warehouse in the backyard of the court is filled with things.

But there are all relief supplies, no opium found.

Master, you asked Brother Zhen Sheng to sneak into the court?

Why are you shocked?

You're young, don't learn everything you see.

Master.

I think the magistrate is quite honest.

Why do you think so?

He has a wife, a concubine and four children.

All of them wore simple and unadorned clothing.

It's even a bit shabby, doesn't look like an official's family.

You even sneaked into the magistrate's residence?

Enough, don't sound so surprised.

It seems that Brother Wen Tao really is a good official.

I've really wronged him.

Oh, right.

Owner of Zhen Yuan Security Agency has prepared a feast.

He invited you.

Don't need to trouble him.

Let's go back.

We can make it home before dark.

Let's go.

Madam...

Madam...

Madam...

Madam's voice is so loud.

Don't bother with me.

Go and save her.

She's alright.

She's giving birth soon.

Giving birth?

Why does she shout in pain?

I've never seen a woman giving birth.

I wonder if it's all the same.

Xiao Lian, hurry!

Give me the hot towel!

Endure it. It'll be alright soon.

-Hot towel. -Hurry!

Wipe her sweat with wet towel.

Push.

Push.

Harder!

Yes, great! It's going to end soon!

It's going to end soon!

-What's wrong with her? -Madam!

What's wrong?

Xiao Lian, press her philtrum.

Madam, what's wrong?

I felt dizzy suddenly.

Why am I on the floor?

I remembered, you'll faint when you saw blood.

She fainted when killing pigs that year.

Mother.

Why am I so useless?

I've promised to deliver sister's baby.

I...

This is not your fault.

Xiao Lian, help her out.

Mother, who will deliver her baby then?

I will.

This is my grandson.

I'll deliver it myself.

Why am I so useless?

Mother, don't.

Daughter-in-law, our family is in trouble.

Nothing to be particular about in this wretched valley.

Come, I'll help you.

Xiao Lian!

Xiao Lian, quick!

Mother, don't bother with me.

Xiao Lian.

Help her out.

I'll give birth myself.

You can't do that alone.

Give me a knife.

Nonsense!

Childbirth is hard.

It's normal to be in pain for two to three days.

Don't overthink.

Mother, help me.

Take out the child directly.

If you talk nonsense again,

I'll hit myself to death!

Mother!

Old Madam Huo, Madam Wang.

Don't say such terrible things.

Is there no other way?

There's...

only a few of us in this family.

It's useless.

Xiao Lian, the girl who came with Gao Qi is highly skilled in martial arts.

She's a heroine.

She must be knowledgeable.

Those who practice martial arts know some medical skills.

Go and get her.

Hurry!

Alright.

Heroine, Madam Wang asked you to help her.

Madam Wang!

You asked me to help you deliver?

Girl, bring the old madam out.

Heroine, thank you for doing this.

Thank you.

You're welcome.

Please wait for good news.

Girl.

I don't need help when delivering babies.

If I didn't ask you to come in, don't come in.

Thank you for helping me.

I'm afraid it'll stain your hands.

When Yuan Jia returns,

we'll thank you.

Yuan Jia will thank me?

That's too formal.

You...

What did you call him?

In the past month,

Ive spent every day with Yuan Jia.

At first, I called him Hero Huo.

He called me Ms. Sha.

Then,

I called him Yuan Jia.

He called me Yan Zi.

If so,

I should call you Sister Yan Zi.

You...

Since you're not an outsider,

I won't be polite with you.

Hurry.

Hurry and help me deliver this child.

It'd be dangerous if we don't get it out.

Help you deliver?

I won't.

Do you know...

why I came to this stupid valley?

Why did you come?

Why are you laughing?

Do you not get it?

You came to learn martial arts from Yuan Jia?

Yuan Jia's Deceptive Fist is powerful.

His Huo Spear Method is even more powerful.

But for daggers,

he never liked it.

That's not what I meant.

I came because of you!

I...

Yuan Jia asked me to come.

Sister Yan Zi.

That was a funny joke.

I'm not that in pain anymore.

I'm not joking with you.

I'm a bandit.

Hurry.

Hurry and stab me.

Take out my child.

If it's not too late,

let him call you as mother.

Please treat him well in your lifetime.

If it's too late,

please tell Yuan Jia...

I've done my best.

I'll meet him again in the next life.

I'll repay his affection for me then.

Why didn't take action?

Hurry!

Hurry!

How? I've never seen a woman give birth.

You need to tell me what to do.

It's too late.

I've no strength to give birth myself.

Hurry, open my stomach.

I won't blame you.

I...

Sister Yan Zi.

I've seen your skills.

This is nothing hard for you.

I'll be indebted to you.

Did I not make myself clear?

I'm Huo Yuan Jia's...

new lover!

Rather than hating me, you're thanking me?

As long as you save my child...

so that I won't let Yuan Jia down,

I'll thank you.

No wonder Huo Yuan Jia is not interested in me at all.

He has such an amazing wife at home.

Mrs. Huo, I'm sorry.

I lied about all that.

Don't take it to heart.

Sister!

Hurry and help me!

There's no time!

I'll help you.

But not with the dagger.

You're just giving birth.

I'll help increase your blood circulation so you can use more strength.

Come.

Increase my blood circulation?

Yes.

Those who practise martial arts cares about good blood circulation.

You'll feel less pain.

You can give birth if you're not in pain.

Right?

Come, relax.

Mrs. Huo, take a deep breath.

Come.

Yes, conserve your energy.

Use strength later.

Take a deep breath.

Come.

Hu Liu?

We've seen the other two before.

They're Five Tigers of Cang Mountain!

This is bad.

Gao Qi!

Master!

Master, finally you're back.

What happened?

How is my mother and the children?

Master, don't worry.

Everyone's safe.

Only Xiao Wu was injured.

Where is Xiao Wu?

In the house.

Xiao Wu!

-Master. -Don't move.

You're back.

I thought I would never see you again in my lifetime.

Oh, right, don't bother about me.

Go see madam.

She has been shouting for many hours.

She still hasn't given birth.

I'm afraid...

she's in trouble.

She has given birth.

She has given birth!

-Congratulations, Master! -Congratulations!

Master has a child now!

Master has a child now!

Yuan Jia, is that you?

Yuan Jia.

-My son is back. -Mother.

Yuan Jia.

Congratulations.

Your wife gave birth to a healthy boy.

Both mother and child are safe.

Mother, congratulations.

You have a grandson now.

I'll kowtow to you.

Stop.

Hurry and go see your wife.

She nearly died.

Juniors, let's congratulate granny.

-Granny, congratulations. -Granny, congratulations!

Alright.

Stand up, all of you.

Stand up.

Dear, Yuan Jia's wife has given birth.

It's a boy.

My dear.

You must be happy too.

Are the firecrackers loud?

Too loud for your little ears?

Son.

Answer me.

Son.

Why did you get up?

You should rest.

My confinement is over.

Our child is already one month old.

I should start work as well.

You're different.

Your health deteriorates after giving birth.

You must rest well.

Besides, there are many people in the house. You don't need to work.

Go and lay down.

Alright.

Pass me the child.

He's one month old now.

We should name him now.

Yes, we should name him.

What should we name him?

According to genealogy, it should start with Dong.

Dong?

[You're still young.]

[It's not worth dying like this.]

[No.]

[If my blood...]

[can enlighten the people and give them courage,]

[make them strong and diligent...]

[If my blood...]

[can urge the government to turn over a new leaf,]

[no longer be close-minded...]

[If my blood...]

[can shake up the great country...]

[and promote the awakening of Chinese people,]

[it would be the greatest honour...]

[of my life.]

"Promote the awakening of Chinese people."

Lord Tan once said that.

How about we name him Dong Jue?

Huo Dong Jue.

It's a good name.

Dong Jue, say thanks to your father.

Dong Jue.

Huo Dong Jue.

Senior Gao Qi.

-It should be my turn. -Let me.

Alright, take it.

Ah Fa, let's light it up.

Alright.

Xiao Wu, hold it properly.

-We'll light it now. -Hold it.

What a tough boy Xiao Wu is.

He had a serious injury but recovered in a month.

Xiao Lian, are the firecrackers loud?

Yes.

It's really loud.

Mother.

Let's go in.

I want to talk to you.

Talk to me?

Yes.

Come.

Mother, it's your grandson's full moon.

That woman has lived in our house for a month, right?

You're saying about Ms. Sha?

Yes.

She's our saviour.

Besides, she helped us with work.

That's not what I meant.

You don't know this...

but his brother is the leader of bandits.

She's a bandit too.

How did you know?

I heard from the outsiders.

Liu Zhen Sheng and Gao Qi.

They're both fools.

They're fighting for her.

I knew it well.

That girl...

only likes Yuan Jia.

-Your eyes are quite sharp. -Of course.

I didn't notice it.

That's because you have bad eyesight.

Listen, Mother.

If she continues to stay,

sooner or later, there'll be chaos in our family.

Sister Yan Zi told me yesterday that...

she'll leave after Dong Jue's full moon feast.

Okay.

I'll ask Zhen Sheng to see her off.

She's my and your son's saviour.

You should ask her to stay.

I've many pupils.

It's not convenient for her to stay here.

We'll prepare to go back to Tianjin after our son's full moon.

We have many empty rooms.

She can stay with us.

You want to bring her to Tianjin?

Doesn't she have her own home?

No.

Sister Yan Zi told me about her background.

Something happened to her family when she was still a baby.

Her parents died.

She has an elder brother.

Sha Lang is the master of Shisanli Mound.

But that is not Sister Yan Zi's home.

Besides, she's a girl.

It's not good for her...

to stay long term in a bandit's den.

So the long-term solution is for her to stay in our house?

As what?

You have many pupils.

You can accept another female pupil.

Female pupil?

No way.

Why?

Do you only teach males?

That's right.

Back then,

the Arcane Huo Fist was only taught to family members.

You're the one who broke the rules.

That's different.

Ms. Sha must not stay in our house.

It's good that she wants to leave.

If not, I'll ask her to leave.

Why?

You're a woman, don't ask so much.

Yuan Jia.

Do you know what she said to me...

the first time we met?

She told me everything.

She's a straightforward and kind girl.

She wanted to leave after helping me to give birth.

But she couldn't bear leaving Dong Jue.

Didn't you realise?

Dong Jue is close to her.

If you won't accept her as your pupil,

I'll take her as my sister.

Let her be Dong Jue's aunt.

Don't you think you're asking for trouble if she stays here?

It might cause some trouble.

But if we help a girl to leave the bandit's den,

we're doing a good deed.

When we're back to Tianjin,

as the female pupil of Huo Yuan Jia, hero of Tianjin,

she might be able to find a good husband.

Or...

Or?

Both Liu Zhen Sheng and Gao Qi like her.

Don't you see it?

If she's fated to one of them,

I'm happy to be the matchmaker.

You can be the witness.

If we unite a good couple,

we're doing a good deed for Dong Jue.

Alright.

I can't win.

So you agree?

Yes.

After all, Ms. Sha is my son's saviour.

For Dong Jue,

I'll break the rule and accept a female pupil.

Huo Yuan Jia of Tianjin...

will accept Sha Yan as pupil today.

Serve the tea!

Master, please drink tea.

Master.

I'll kowtow to you.

That's good.

You may rise.

Junior.

This is a good thing.

Why are you crying?

Junior.

Don't cry.

Yeah, Sister Yan Zi.

From now one, you have to call me Senior Xiao Wu.

Sister Yan Zi.

Stand up.

No.

From now on,

you can't call me as your sister.

Madam.

Please accept my kowtow.

You're my and Dong Jue's saviour.

These are two different things.

This is not right.

Senior Zhen Sheng said...

this will break the rules.

We still have to follow the rules.

Rules?

Yuan Jia accepted outsiders as pupils.

Now, he broke the rule and accepted a female pupil.

Are we suddenly being technical now?

Yuan Jia.

I want to call Sha Yan as my sister forever.

As her master, do you give the permission?
