[Who's the Boss]

[Episode 17]

It really is you.

You're following me.

I have something to say to you.

You look like you've recovered faster than I imagined.

So,

you've been thinking about me?

What are you trying to say?

I miss you.

Are you happier

being with him?

I'm happy.

I know you.

I can tell you're forcing yourself.

You know me?

If you truly knew me,

you should know

that I hate being lied to.

I'm happy with Zhou.

I'm very happy.

What are you doing?

Aren't we only traveling on the weekend?

Why pack now?

Because Zhang Shiping said

that a few more minutes of preparation

save hours of trouble.

Looks like you've been brainwashed by the director's catchy phrases.

Yeah.

Could you help me decide which outfits to bring?

I don't want to look at that boring stuff.

Show me your pajamas.

This set.

Come on.

Please, this is your first time staying out.

Please don't wear this kind, okay?

What else should I wear?

Of course, you have to wear

something like this, you know?

Please.

Yi is going too, you know?

How can I wear that?

Is Yi awake 24 hours a day?

Of course, you have to find a chance.

Find a slot yourself, you know.

Chen Duomi, sometimes I really don't know

what evil things you have in your head.

I don't have that kind of clothes, you know.

Alright, it's late, go home.

- I'm telling you… - Go home.

I'll place an order for you from my shopping cart.

No need, okay? No need.

- Be careful not to be fooled by men again. - What size are you?

Come, let's go.

- It's late, come on, let's go, go home. - What size are you?

- Call me when you get home. - S?

There's no size M in red.

There's black.

[A new message]

[Han] I saw this beautiful view on my night run.

Hope not to admire it alone next time.

Who says I'm not prepared?

Do you want to play board games together this weekend?

- What game? - Board games.

I don't know those games for young people.

What about escape rooms?

I have plans this weekend, so no.

What are you doing this weekend?

Hey.

Why don't you ask your classmates to go out and play?

I…

Chen Han.

I saw you were unhappy with Yazi last time.

That's why I racked my brains to find a solution

to get you out of that mood, okay?

Thanks, then.

But this weekend, I'm going on a short trip

with Shiping and Yi.

You haven't known Zhang Shiping for long.

And you're already going on a trip together.

Is that okay?

I think it's good.

Before you officially date,

you always have to try and see if you are suitable for each other

and whether you get along.

I think traveling is a great trial.

Okay.

That's right.

That's great.

What?

Do you not want me to go?

No, I don't want you to go.

Why?

♫ I'm going to love you ♫

♫ Whether the world allows it or not ♫

- Because I… - Cindy.

Yazi asked me to give this to you.

Seriously?

Thank you, Chen Han.

You were saying?

I'll tell you some other day.

Mr. Cai is looking for me.

Mr. Cai?

That's right.

[General Manager's Office]

Brother.

You've finally embodied that saying.

Choice is more important than effort.

What choice?

Come in.

Go.

Take care.

Come on, sit down.

What did you say your name was?

Meng Heng.

Meng Heng.

What about your family members?

My dad, my mom.

Me.

A small family.

What do your parents do?

Uncle.

Don't ask too many questions.

Okay.

May I say something, Mr. Cai?

No.

Chen.

[No Violation Contract]

No Violation Contract?

Look carefully.

As long as you sign this contract,

the keys to this house

will be handed over to you.

He, he really scared me yesterday.

My uncle just loves to joke around.

Was he really just joking?

His face looked dead serious.

He was. You don't have to worry.

Just joking.

So,

is Cindy really

going to the villa you mentioned for a trip?

Yes, how many times do you need to ask?

I have obediently listened to you

and worked hard at my position at work,

which is why I heard Director Zhang's plan to take her out.

Moreover,

I also know

they are going to stay at the villa he designed.

My uncle

is an avid golfer.

He also bought one there.

So,

are you going with me

to help me pursue Cindy?

You're really a good person.

But how do you know I like her?

Anyone with eyes can see that, okay?

Especially since I pay so much attention to you.

Why do you pay attention to me?

The whole office knows I like you.

Don't you know?

When you look at Cindy with deep affection,

I've also been looking at you the same way.

This is called 'the mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind'.

Does anyone describe affection in that way?

Yes, me.

So…

Miss Oriole, since you know that I like Cindy,

why would you help me pursue her?

If it makes you happy,

I would be happy too.

To like someone

doesn't necessarily mean having to possess them.

Alright, let's hurry up and go.

Don't go on about it anymore.

Give me your umbrella.

Yi.

Do you know whether walking or driving,

at what speed can one truly appreciate the scenery?

What speed?

Ten kilometers per hour.

How fast is ten kilometers per hour?

If it's ten kilometers per hour,

we might only arrive in the evening.

Eyes on the road, please.

Also,

do you know what is the most important thing

to do during a long drive?

What?

That is…

eating snacks.

Hey…

My dad has a cleanliness obsession.

He says we can't eat in the car.

Right.

Of course.

Sorry.

It's okay.

Yi was a child,

and I was afraid she would leave crumbs of food

all over the car.

Now that she's grown up, it's fine. You guys can eat away.

It's okay, we'll eat later at the reststop.

Excuse me.

Hello?

Yes, I am.

Mrs. Lin's granddaughter?

Yeah, I remember.

What?

Okay.

Okay.

Thank you for telling me.

Okay, goodbye.

Sorry, I might not be able to go with you guys.

Can you let me off where it's possible to park?

My dad, he's sick.

I, I want to go back to check on him.

It's okay.

I'll take you back.

[Zhou] I'm sorry,

I seem to have caught a cold.

I want to rest at home.

Sorry.

[A new message]

[Zhou] Rest well then.

If you really feel unwell,

remember to see a doctor, okay?

What, what?

You came back to glare at me, didn't you?

Tell me.

How sick are you? Don't lie to me.

It's really just a sprained back, that's all.

When you called just now,

I told you, didn't I?

If it really is a sprained back,

why would Mrs. Lin's granddaughter ask me to come back to take care of you?

Just, just tell me.

I can handle it.

Why would you believe Mrs. Lin's granddaughter

more than me?

Because she has no reason to lie to me.

She is just an outsider.

She could also be considered half…

Or rather an insider.

What do you mean?

So, I strained my back.

And I can't reach to apply the medicinal patch on my back.

Every time Mrs. Lin helps me stick it.

Then the neighbors started saying

that something was going on between her and me.

So she asked me to come back

to avoid suspicion.

That's not it.

She is mad because I told someone else

that she and I are just friends.

Now she won't help me apply it

and had her granddaughter call you.

Pops, let me tell you.

You've had so many girlfriends.

Don't you want to settle down?

She kindly helped you apply the patch.

And you call her just a friend?

You really are…

You don't need to worry about it.

Who is that boy who drove you back home?

He's my friend.

I thought you said

that someone so enthusiastic

can't be just a friend.

Mr. Zhang

is a rather special friend.

Be careful with your words later.

Don't ruin your daughter's happiness.

You know.

Of course, I won't.

Right now, I am going

to defend my daughter's happiness.

It has to grow up slowly like this.

Hello, Mr. Zhang.

- Hello, Mr. Wang. - Hello.

They say every encounter is fate.

Moreover, you've come from afar.

How about this?

Later, you can stay for a quick meal.

Then I will

humbly accept your kind offer.

Really? That's great.

After dinner tonight,

just stay over for the night…

For the night chat.

A chat.

- Night chat. - It means chatting.

Chatting.

It's me.

What are you doing here?

You haven't eaten yet, have you?

I…

Come in.

Okay.

Should I take off my shoes here?

I'll help you.

- Thank you. - Come on, try it.

How is it?

It's very good.

That's good.

By the way, you…

Are you feeling well now?

Do you have a fever?

Or should I check for you?

I'm sorry.

I'm afraid of infecting you.

Don't get too close to me.

You, you don't have to be afraid.

Didn't someone

say

that if you pass the cold to the next person,

you'd get better?

Rest assured, I can handle it.

There's still some time before the exhibition ends.

You can still make it.

Don't miss it because of me.

Seeing the exhibition

is to appreciate beautiful things.

But I think,

what I'm seeing now

is the most beautiful thing.

Zhou.

You know right now…

- I know. - I'm not…

I know.

How could I not know?

I know

what you need most now

is rest.

But just resting isn't enough.

You also need

to drink more water and exercise.

That's how you can get rid of the bad bacteria

out of your system,

and your body will recover.

Zhou.

- I… - I know.

I know.

The process of expelling bacteria from the body

might be a bit tough.

And it might,

it might even cause you a lot of pain.

But I want to tell you

that I'll always be by your side

accompanying you through it

until you are fully recovered.

♫ I wait for you ♫

♫ To become no longer illusory ♫

By the way,

do you know that besides cooking classes,

what else I take?

Aerobics classes.

Look.

Like this.

After you finish drinking, you can do it with me like this.

I guarantee you'll be able to sweat it out,

burn fat,

and expel all

the bad bacteria.

Just do it like this with me.

You really take a lot of classes.

I've been single for a while, you know.

So I pick up a little bit of this and that.

Just like this.

- Let me get it. - I will. You can enjoy your soup.

- Thanks. - Okay.

Thank you.

Yun, the administrator said it's for you.

Did you order delivery?

I bought your favorite red bean cakes.

It's from that lady with the curly hair on the street.

No.

They probably delivered it to the wrong person.

Did they?

I wonder who it was for.

There's no name written.

Anyway, it's not good for you to eat sweets while sick.

Shall we…

throw it away?

It's safer.

Have some soup.

Okay.

Almost there.

- Okay. - Come on, straight ahead.

- A bit to the left. - Okay, to the left.

To the right, good, move forward.

- Wait a minute, to the left. - What are you doing?

- Move forward. - So mysterious.

Of course, we need to simulate your date with Cindy.

Okay, in a moment,

you can cover her eyes

and take her here.

But,

if I take her here,

what about Zhang Shiping and Yi?

I will get them out of the way.

This is a very important part of the plan.

When you get to this point,

you will ask her,

'Are you ready?'

- And then… - 'Are you ready?'

You…

When did you prepare this?

And that.

Of course, I did it in secret.

Otherwise, how would it be a surprise?

So,

the lighting is beautiful,

and the atmosphere is great. When she arrives later,

I can just confess directly to her, right?

No, that's too direct.

- Is it? - You need to set the stage.

Come, come over here.

Set the stage for what?

Let me teach you, come, sit here.

Let's simulate it.

Pretend you're Cindy.

The external atmosphere now

is all set.

But the internal buildup is also important.

With gourmet food at hand,

you should chat while eating with her.

Ideally,

drink a little wine.

And when she feels cold,

you can

do this.

♫ I'm going to love you ♫

♫ Whether the world allows it or not ♫

♫ Ignoring rumors, it pours like rain ♫

♫ As long as you're willing, I'll be firm ♫

♫ I'm going to love you ♫

♫ No matter who disapproves ♫

Well…

I get it, yes.

That's a nice move.

Weird, it's already dark.

Why haven't they arrived yet?

I'll send a message and ask her.

Okay.

- Once washed, just put it over there. - Okay.

I'll leave the rest to you.

Working in exchange for accommodation.

Okay, Boss.

[Meng Heng] Where are you now?

Have you arrived at the villa?

I'm just asking.

Haha.

We've arrived

at my dad's country mansion.

What's wrong?

Sorry about today.

Your country villa trip

turned into this.

Not at all.

I think

this kind of simplicity is wonderful.

It's an unexpected episode.

But Yi must be very disappointed, right?

Don't worry.

She is the most excited one right now.

Your dad keeps coming up with new things for her to play with.

She just came over and told me

that she wanted to tell her classmates when she goes back

about her visit to her grandpa's place in the countryside.

Give it a try.

Is it sweet?

Yes. Do you want to try it?

It's very sweet.

Plans can't keep up with changes.

Changes can't keep up with a call from Cindy.

Meng Heng.

Did you get the address of Cindy's hometown?

I asked.

She just doesn't read or reply.

Then you should call her.

Calling directly to ask seems too deliberate, right?

She'll notice.

Right.

What are you doing?

He's putting Yi to bed.

What exactly are you up to?

[Rejuvenation and Kidney Tonic Wine] This is made with deer antlers and Chinese yam.

Rejuvenation and Kidney Tonic Wine.

In a moment, pour a glass for Shiping to drink.

I guarantee it will make him full of energy.

Stop talking nonsense.

How can there be a dad like you?

My kind of dad

is rare to find.

You're considered a high-risk pregnant woman now.

Fight on.

Do you really hope that I date him?

He has a daughter. You don't mind?

If you don't mind, why should I?

Besides, I've always wanted a grandchild.

Now is just the right time.

Yi is adorable, isn't she?

Right.

Of course she's adorable if you are not the one taking care of her.

Really?

Do you not think Yi is cute?

I didn't say that. Don't put words in my mouth.

You'll be a stepmother.

Be careful not to end up disliked by everyone.

How could that be? Is there anything I can't handle?

Listen to me.

You need to be mentally prepared.

You and Shiping

are not like other couples.

Others start off one-on-one,

treating each other as their whole world.

But if anything happens between you and him,

his daughter will always come first.

Is that why your previous

girlfriends all dumped you?

Don't talk nonsense.

I dumped them.

I got tired.

Is that so?

Of course.

- Sorry. - No problem.

- Yi got very excited. - Come on, have a seat.

She has only just fallen asleep.

Let me tell you,

in our countryside area here,

there's a big temperature difference.

So, I prepared a medicinal liquor

for strengthening the body.

Thank you.

Come on.

Come on.

You really know I'm weak.

Thank you, I'll drink first.

I'm sorry.

How could I have known I would

get so dizzy?

- I… - Come on.

Let me sit for a bit.

I'll sit for a bit.

Never mind, I'll lie down.

Just let me lie down for a while. That will be good.

I'll lie down for a bit.

- Are you okay? - I'm fine.

[Certificate of Award]

No, not that one.

No.

You can't.

You can't look.

You've got quite a talent for art.

This is

what I did as a joke

when I was a kid.

People say

you can tell from a person's room

what kind of person they are.

I truly believe you are

someone who is straightforward and has a personality.

I used to cut out

pictures I liked from magazines

and paste them

on the wall.

It's a bit messy, sorry.

I saw in your sketchbook just now

that there was a drawing

of Wonder Woman.

Right?

Which signifies

that you've had a strong sense of justice since you were little,

willing to stand up against injustice.

I want to thank heaven

for giving me the chance to know you

so we can start our future together.

That liquor.

Good, take it easy and spit it out.

I know.

I know.

The process of expelling bacteria from the body

might be a bit tough.

But

I want to tell you

that I'll always be by your side

accompanying you through it

until you are fully recovered.

♫ The person who has nothing to do with me ♫

♫ I've entrusted myself to him ♫

♫ Memories are not default ♫

♫ I provide false testimony ♫

♫ The role of a passing character ♫

♫ No one plays it better than me ♫

♫ As you turn around, there's a new journey ahead ♫

♫ I'm still standing here responding ♫

♫ The eternal self-questioning ♫

♫ It's also a kind of responsibility ♫

Look, it's a river.

- It's a field. - Yi.

Is it fun?

Yeah!

Grandpa, look.

It's a scarecrow.

Scarecrow.

They don't have those in Taipei, right?

Yeah.

I've only seen it in cartoons

or in online videos.

And this is my first time seeing

an actual scarecrow.

Really?

Later, when we come back,

let's take a picture with the scarecrow.

Grandpa will take it for you, okay?

Okay.

Pops, what kind of alcohol is that?

It's got such a strong kick.

You were not helping me at all.

You're basically laying me out flat.

You're up.

Let me do it.

It's okay, I'm almost done.

Sit down first, take a rest.

To ease the hangover headache,

you can admire this handsome guy's

clothes-drying show.

Well, mister,

aren't you wearing too much?

If you wore a little less, it would be more pleasing to the eye.

Do you want to see that?

Sure.

User pays.

Where is my dad?

And Yi?

Your dad said he was going to buy breakfast,

and Yi volunteered to help.

They have been out for a while.

They should be back soon.

Excuse me, is anyone there?

Meng Heng?

Are you surprised?

I bought a lot.

Eat as much as you can.

If it's not enough, I'll buy more.

- Here you go. - Help yourself.

This egg pancake.

This egg pancake is really good.

- Thanks. - Give it a try.

- It's great. - Thank you.

Let me tell you.

This egg pancake is one of those traditional, old-style batter pancakes,

which are rare in Taipei.

It's really special.

So, Yi, do you want to eat an egg pancake or a steamed bun?

- I want a steamed bun. - Okay.

It's okay, Daddy will share some of my egg pancake with you.

Come on.

Here.

Mr. Wang, this is a gift for you as we meet.

Wishing you good health and all the best.

That's so kind of you.

Okay.

But how did you know where my hometown was?

I took Meng Heng's car out for fun.

I was just chatting with Duomi in the car,

and somehow we talked about how

your hometown was nearby, so we thought we'd stop by and say hello.

Right, you said yesterday that you were going back to your hometown.

So we thought we'd swing by and say hello.

Yeah.

Young man, that's very considerate.

Just play if you're out to play,

and to go out of your way to visit your master.

I know my daughter's personality best.

Her personality is tough and hard to deal with.

As her apprentice,

it's hard work, isn't it?

Not at all.

You know how Cindy is.

She's sharp-tongued

but kind-hearted.

Did you hear that?

Wait a moment.

I, I bought this for you.

Here.

Oat milk latte, no sugar.

Thank you.

Grandpa.

What are we going to play in a bit?

We're going to play

roasting sweet potatoes in a kiln. How about that?

Yeah.

I don't think so.

The kiln roasting will get our hands dirty.

No, let's not do that.

I knew you Taipei greenhorns

wouldn't have done it before.

Today, I

will take you all to experience

what's called

the local rural life.

Eat up quickly.

- Okay. - Okay.

Let me tell you.

Wrap that egg with the sweet potato

and bring it over later.

- Okay. - Bring it here.

Yi, come, let's go.

- Alright, it's almost time. - Let's go.

Let's go.

- Be careful. - Go, hurry up.

- Okay. - Let's hurry.

Go.

We're number one.

- Hurry up. - Come here.

Come on.

Use the aluminum foil and wrap

- the sweet potatoes up. Leave the rest to me. - Okay.

- Alright. - Wrap this one.

Come on.

Good, this will be quicker.

- It's just soil, right? - Let's wait for the sweet potatoes.

It's nothing, right?

Are you okay?

- Okay, is this okay? - Yeah.

- Okay. - Don't.

I'll take this plate to Mr. Wang first.

Okay.

Meng Heng, wait a moment.

Why are you rushing?

Of course, I want to perform well,

to show her that I'm someone who isn't afraid of hardship, fatigue, or dirt.

You're basically just creating more alone time for Zhang Shiping and Cindy.

- Well, you take it, I'll go back to my defense. - Okay.

Hey, that young person, come here.

Young people have greater lung capacity.

Help me make a fire.

- I… - Come over here.

Okay.

Doing chores for Mr. Wang should also score points.

Alright, go quickly.

Don't make any noise with your blowing.

Okay.

Like this.

According to what your dad and Yi said,

I think

Yi seems to be having a lot of fun.

I just need some time

to overcome my fear.

It's fine.

Are you sure?

It's not a big deal.

I… I can do it.

Is this better?

Holding me tighter would be better.

How about this way?

Much better.

Just wrap it up like this.

I can do it.

Yun.

Sorry to have kept you waiting.

No worries.

How are you feeling?

Much better.

Thank you for the chicken soup.

That's good.

By the way, is there new furniture

you want to buy today?

Like a dining table or a sofa or something?

All of it.

I want to replace all the furniture that I can.

I want to have a new life.

That's pretty good.

Changing decorations, changing furniture,

it's also a good chance to change the mood.

I'm with you.

So please accompany me to have a look.

Give me some advice.

OK.

Vice President.

♫ The unending story full of plot twists ♫

♫ Presented me with a different chapter ♫

♫ Facing it alone ♫

♫ The person who has nothing to do with me ♫

♫ I've entrusted myself to him ♫

♫ Memories are not default ♫

♫ I provide false testimony ♫

♫ The role of a passing character ♫

♫ No one plays it better than me ♫

Vice President Han is so adaptable.

He's a real man.

Yu…

Yun.

Shall we walk around nearby before coming here?

Okay, it should be fine.

Okay.

Wait a moment.

I'll take care of this rough work.

Excuse me.

- Is it okay? - Okay.

Then I can cover it with the stone, right?

- Yes. - Okay.

Wang Cunfeng.

What are you thinking about?

Right. Using your feet is faster.

What are you doing?

Lovesickness…

Fickleness can also be inherited.

What are you talking about?

Stop pretending.

You're looking at this guy one moment,

and that guy next.

If there's more behind, will you look back too?

I was checking

who is doing a better job with the soil.

As if that's true.

If you ask me,

I would choose Shiping.

He's professional.

Trustworthy.

He was the only option to begin with.

[Han Xinzheng]

Shiping, your phone.

[Han Xinzheng]

Thank you.

Is your friend also called Han Xinzheng?

Just like the name of our

former Vice President.

It's him.

Why is he calling you?

Because he is the Executive Director of my new company.

Did you see me at the furniture store

and feel bad?

Yun.

Don't call me.

Stop sending things to my house.

And don't ask the administrator about me anymore.

Close the door.

Why?

Why exactly?

Do you know what he has done?

He's corrupt, and he framed me.

He's scum.

Why would you employ someone like him?

Are there really no other people in the world you can use?

Are you done?

Yes.

Can I have my turn now?

Give me a reason.

Because I…

My company is in urgent need of people,

and they must be capable.

He can handle everything well

from land development to PR engagements.

He has character issues.

He is not a good person.

Of course, I've considered that.

But he has already been punished,

hasn't he?

Didn't you think to tell me at all?

In public,

you are nobody to my company.

I have no obligation to report to you.

In private,

he has nothing to do with our private life,

right?

[Deception is the dynamite of love, enough to destroy all that is beautiful]

[Next Episode] Daddy, did you have a fight

with Cindy?

[Wang Quanfu] Wang Quan…

He lives next door?

No wonder he often gives her a ride to work.

If the planning department is going to expand,

it all depends on this opportunity.

Just like some people like

to take shortcuts and use schemes.

If Han Xinzheng is the contact person,

can you still remain professional?

You are at Yun's place.

I can give her more

and complete happiness.

Today, Cindy asked me to print a copy,

so I secretly printed one for you.

What list does Cindy want?

♫ In the end, what can still ♫

♫ Be upheld ♫

♫ Can no longer believe ♫

♫ In right and wrong ♫

♫ The boundless sea of stars ♫

♫ I wait for you ♫

♫ To become no longer illusory ♫

♫ Those past hurts ♫

♫ The involuntary evil ♫

♫ All are left behind ♫

♫ Meeting you is the most beautiful accident ♫

♫ I can hardly believe there will be ♫

♫ Such a lucky arrival ♫

♫ Meeting you is my greatest anticipation ♫

♫ Fall in love with the present ♫

♫ Because of you ♫

♫ I'm no longer afraid of loneliness and solitude ♫
