to fight the apartheid regime

have been complicated,

with the breaking news
that six rugby players

may defy the sports boycott
to embark on a South African tour.

Ellen Davison has more.

REPORTER: Australia has led
the global fight to end apartheid,

placing tough sanctions
on South Africa.

But now those sanctions
have been defied

by six Australian rugby players

who are planning
a very controversial tour.

Now, I would say to them that
if they want to go to South Africa,

find out what it's like,
they should go.

Critics are saying the players are
undermining Australia's efforts.
