=Episode 29=

How strange.

We searched all night but didn't see that demon.

I'm worried that Jinyuan won't hold on much longer.

The Taoist priest from Sanqing Abbey said

this demon has a thousand years of cultivation,

and it's hard to reveal its true form.

What do we do now?

Hurry, hurry!

Someone has died.

Think of a way to save Jinyuan.

Hurry, hurry!

Hurry up, hurry up!

Come on.

Li Xiaoyao!

- Why does this corpse smell of alcohol? - Li Xiaoyao!

Li Xiaoyao, what are you doing?

Hurry back and think of a way to save Jinyuan.

He is the one who can save your cousin.

Master.

Master.

Drunken Sword Immortal?

Master!

He moved! He moved!

It turns out he's just a drunk.

Who's calling me?

Who is it? Who's calling me?

Master.

Who are you?

Master, it's me, your disciple,

Li Xiaoyao from Yuhang.

You're still alive, boy?

Master, I've finally found you.

What do you need me for?

I have a story. Do you have good wine?

It's not about wine.

Master, it's an important matter of life.

I've saved enough lives

of the common people. No more, no more.

Master, Master, Master,

he's my very good friend, poisoned by a demon.

Please save him.

I won't go.

There's no good wine.

No, no, no.

There's plenty of wine!

Osmanthus Dew Wine, Rose Dew Wine,

Suhe Fragrant Wine, and Fuqing Spirits,

all bestowed by His Majesty,

plenty in the Liu Mansion.

Li Xiaoyao, do you want to drink?

If you do, I'll find some for you when we get back.

I don't like drinking.

Liu Mansion...

Saving lives is urgent.

Saving lives is urgent.

Let's go and save lives.

This is not good.

This place has a heavy demon aura.

Right.

Prepare more candles for me,

talisman paper, sandalwood,

and by the way,

bring a few more jars of the royal wine you just mentioned.

What are you waiting for?

I'm going now.

Go now, don't delay my drinking.

No, catching demons.

Go help.

- Alright, alright, alright. - Go, go, go.

Kids,

today I'll let you see

my long-sealed unique skill,

Demonic Sealing Technique.

Stay at least seven steps away from me.

Whatever happens,

do not act rashly.

This is the Demonic Sealing Technique?

I don't know.

I haven't seen it.

Don't be disrespectful.

He fell asleep?

Master?

What are you still doing here?

Don't waste time.

Hurry and check how Jinyuan is doing.

Master?

(Breezy and Pleasant)

Demon, release my cousin immediately!

Yueru, just give me a bit more time.

If you don't release him, don't blame me for being rude.

I'm detoxifying him.

I saw her go this way.

How come she disappeared?

Stop and release my cousin!

Please believe me. I won't harm Jinyuan.

It's because we trust you too much

that Jinyuan was poisoned.

Yueru, let me explain.

Scholar, Scholar!

Jinyuan!

(Lady of Poison) Little butterfly,

you're so bold.

Lady of Poison, it's all my fault,

I beg you to let Yueru

and Mr. Li go.

It's not their fault.

Since you're here,

how could you possibly leave?

I beg you to give me more antidote for Soul Entangling Silk.

Cai Yi,

you're really saving Jinyuan?

No.

No.

It's my fault.

He was poisoned because of me.

What exactly happened?

That day,

I was transforming into a butterfly,

caught in a web,

it was Jinyuan who saved my life.

But,

it ended up harming him.

I'm sorry, Cai Yi,

for misunderstanding you.

Lady of Poison,

I beg you to save Jinyuan.

If you can save him,

I'll agree to anything.

Really?

To save him, I need to use up my energy.

Why don't you

just let me eat you

to gain your cultivation?

Then I might be able to save him.

That's right.

If we delay further,

I might be powerless too.

You evil creature, do not harm people!

Thunder Spiritual Bead!

No, you can't die.

You can't die.

You have to save my husband!

You need to save him!

Jinyuan!

- No wonder this demon is so powerful. - Jinyuan...

It turns out it has a Spiritual Bead.

Come on. I'll give the Spiritual Bead to you.

Master,

save Scholar.

He

is deeply poisoned,

and his vital energy is almost gone.

He's dying with no cure.

What?

It can't be, sir. You must have a way.

Please think of something.

- Well... - Sir.

I beg you

to save Jinyuan.

Please!

Little butterfly,

do you really want to use up your cultivation

to save him?

Is it worth it?

He's not just anyone.

He's my husband.

For the one I love,

I have no regrets.

There's no question of worth,

only willingness.

To save his life,

you have to harm your own.

I'm willing to do that.

Please, sir, save my husband.

Well, you...

Let's do this.

I will pass on the technique to you,

and then you help her.

I...

I can't do that either.

Yueru,

you help me.

Yueru,

you understand my intentions,

and you will help me,

right?

Okay.

I'll help you.

Thank you,

Yueru.

Thank you.

Alright.

When Jinyuan wakes up,

please

do not tell him about this.

Why?

The moment we met each other,

we understood each other.

However, we can't see each other anymore.

My only wish is for him

to live peacefully and happily

for the rest of his life.

Honey...

The world has always had troubled fates.

I didn't expect there to be heartless people

and deeply devoted demons.

What really

is a demon?

When Cai Yi begged my master,

I don't know why

it felt strangely familiar.

It turns out

that falling in love with someone

can truly involve risking one's life.

If one day,

I was in danger,

would you save me like that?

Don't talk about such inauspicious things.

I mean if that happens.

This kind of thing

won't happen to us.

But if it's for you,

I would.

Why so many ifs?

Now that Jinyuan is fine,

I'll take Yueru back to Suzhou City.

Dad, I still have things to do. I can't go back with you.

Yueru,

speak properly to your dad.

He will agree.

Are you coming back with me

to Suzhou City or not?

No.

Fine.

You,

come with me.

Master Lin,

- between me and Yueru... - Don't play dumb with me.

My daughter likes you.

Don't you know that?

I can see it.

Then why let her follow you without proper procedures?

Master Lin,

Yueru and I fought snake demons,

battled corpse demons, caught thieves,

quelled unrest, and upheld justice,

We're like-minded...

Sincere hearts can be seen.

Don't waste words with me.

Draw your sword.

I want to see

if you are a true man

or just a slick-talking scoundrel.

How could I make a move against you?

If you really want to prove your sincerity,

just withstand three strikes of the Lins' Seven Fatal Sword.

Then I'll believe you.

Then you

also have to promise me something.

If I withstand those three strikes,

could you agree

not to interfere with your daughter's choices

and respect her decisions?

Alright.

Show your true skills.

If you die under my sword,

you can't blame me.

Get ready.

One more strike.

Li Xiaoyao!

Are you alright?

Li Xiaoyao,

you are indeed talented for your age.

I've said what I needed to say.

I hope you act wisely.

Yueru,

are you really not coming home with me?

Dad,

I prefer the life I have now.

But,

he doesn't care about you.

Dad,

I hope you can respect my choice.

You just better not regret it.

(Lizhao Residence)

Li, Yueru, be careful on your way.

Scholar,

my master went through a lot to cure you.

You must take good care of yourself.

Of course, of course.

Then Li,

please take good care of Yueru for me.

Jinyuan,

we'll leave first.

You've just recovered from a serious illness.

Take good rest.

Don't overthink.

Don't...

She...

Li,

what's wrong

with Yueru again?

Don't you know her yet? She's startled at everything.

Scholar, you better go back.

Take care.

Where's your master?

We gave so many jars of royal wine

and asked him to take us to Mount Shu to find the Wind Spiritual Bead.

Is he not coming?

I don't know.

Master!

Master!

Stop calling. Stop calling.

Look up.

Master.

Master, let's go to Mount Shu now.

Kid, don't rush.

Let me have another drink.

Remember.

Don't be afraid later on.

What's there to be afraid of going to Mount Shu?

It's too scary!

You're going to shout my ears deaf.

Li Xiaoyao, it's too high! I'm scared!

Savage girl, open your eyes and look.

The scenery below is very nice.

I don't want to. You just want to see me make a fool of myself.

I'm not lying to you. Open your eyes and look.

How about it? I didn't lie to you, right?

(How could this silly rat's silhouette)

(look so similar to that hero back then?)

(Impossible, impossible.)

(Back then, he was only a few years old.)

(And how could he compare to a hero?)

(The hero's mount is a phoenix.)

(He's only fit to ride a broken gourd.)

What are you laughing about? Scared silly?

What's it to you? You're the silly one.

Let's go!

Help!

You and Book Immortal

speak so highly of the outside world.

If I could see it,

I'd die without regrets.

Does that Book Immortal you spoke of

know many things?

Of course, Book Immortal is well-versed in all texts,

knowledgeable in astronomy and geography.

If he knows everything,

then he might know

how to get out of the Demon-Locking Tower.

Why not go ask him then?

- Sure. - Let's go.

You audacious villain, surrender now!

Ling'er!

Ling'er!

King of Prison,

where did you take Ling'er?

Jiang Wan'er,

I can do nothing to you,

but don't push your luck.

You won't escape from my grasp.

Master, how much longer?

Don't rush, kid.

Do you see that little black dot up ahead?

Through those continuous clouds,

those layered mountain ranges,

that is...

Well, we've arrived.

Savage girl, open your eyes,

or you'll regret it.

This truly has the air of immortals.

No wonder so many want to join the Mount Shu Sect.

Of course.

Mount Shu has always been a sacred place for cultivation.

Let's go.

Help! Slow down, slow down!

The savage girl who fears nothing

has her day too.

Which eye of yours saw me scared?

I just shouted once.

Hope your courage matches your words.

Come down.

Don't underestimate me.

Master, let's go inside.

Don't call me master.

Why?

What do you mean why?

Just no.

Here is Mount Shu.

(Mount Shu)

You guys have a good look around.

Mr. Drunken Sword Immortal,

you're back.

Why is it this guy?

It's him.

Enemies do meet on a narrow road.

I hear in your tone you have a past with him.

Before, he led the Seven-Star Sword Formation

and attacked me and the savage girl.

Really? That happened?

Yes.

Why did they attack us?

I'm asking you. Who are you asking?

Alright, alright.

You guys have a good look around.

I'm leaving first.

Master,

you just got back and you're leaving?

You don't know.

Tai Wu and his master are the same,

so annoying. I'm leaving first.

Can't see me. Can't see me.

Greetings, Mr. Situ.

You saw me.

My master instructed

that if you return to the mountain,

I must make you stay.

No need, no need.

I am a person of leisure, not suitable to stay long.

Right, right, right.

These two are my friends.

Take good care of them for me,

I'll take my leave. Goodbye.

Sir, if you want to find peace, go ahead.

But please do not leave the mountain.

Master said if you leave,

he will confiscate the wine you've hidden in the pill-making room.

Good for him.

Bye.

Master!

He left just like that?

Was your Mount Shu swordsmanship

taught by Mr. Situ?

What?

Want to compete?

I previously mistook you for posing as a Mount Shu disciple

aiding evil spirits.

My apologies.

Alright, I'll forgive you.

Are you here today

for that demoness?

Demoness?

What demoness?

If you must say so,

fine.

I indeed came for a demon.

But it's not for a demoness.

I came here for a demonic Taoist.

Bring that jerk Bao Pu to me now.

He's not in Mount Shu.

I can't reason with you.

We want to see Mr. Dugu.

My master is in seclusion.

No one can see him.

You're not saying the Wind Spiritual Bead isn't in Mount Shu too, are you?

What is the Wind Spiritual Bead?

Still playing dumb?

You can't answer any of our questions and only know to pass the blame.

What exactly are you two here for?

If it's to start trouble,

I advise you to leave quickly.

Didn't you hear clearly just now?

We are important guests of Mr. Situ.

He told you to treat us well. What's this attitude?

Gods of Sanqing shall prove my words.

Bao Pu is missing,

and this matter must wait for Master to end his seclusion to decide.

We can wait.

If so,

follow me then.

These are the guest rooms in Mount Shu.

When can we meet Mr. Dugu?

I don't know.

Then what do you know?

Mr. Dugu is still in seclusion,

and no one can disturb him.

- You... - Forget it.

Don't trouble him anymore.

After all, he doesn't even know about his fellow here,

nor his master.

Maybe he doesn't even know who he is.

Since you want to stay in Mount Shu,

you must abide by Mount Shu's rules.

You can't step into the main mountain.

No loud noises, no fighting,

and no wandering around.

If you don't want to comply,

you can leave on your own.

Trying to drive us away?

Then we'll just not leave.

Right.

We'll find Bao Pu

and ask Mr. Dugu to decide.

He's delaying us.

He must be afraid what they did

will be reported to Mr. Dugu.

Let's go.

- Where to? - Follow him.

If it's really like this,

he will definitely go see Bao Pu.
