[Back For You]

Back off. Back off!

What's going on?

I don't know.

A corpse was found this morning.

A corpse!

I was throwing the trash this morning.

It scared me to death.

So tragic.

In past cases,

the criminal's motive

was usually to rob money and to rape.

When there's resistance,

they'd then kill the victim on a whim during the conflict.

This murderer is different.

He appears at midnight.

The victims

suffered greatly before death,

tortured through bloodletting

and suffocation.

[Stab wound on the neck]

This is clearly

a serial murder case.

The murders were premeditated.

They chose targets for murder.

They must've also felt a great rush during the torture and murder.

[Crime scene location] [No. 13, Huiguan Lane] [Renyi Apartment]

The higher-ups

attach great importance to this case.

They want the serial killer

arrested in two days.

Lai.

What do you think?

Join us.

Okay.

-I think this case… -Chief Inspector.

Lai has just returned to the station.

Let him get used to it.

Join us

next time,

okay?

Okay.

Lai,

next time then.

Okay.

Jia.

You'll have more on your plate.

Chief Inspector.

I promise

it'll be done in two days.

[Hongren Hospital]

Tonight,

I'll continue to read stories to you.

"Romantic Night"?

What's going on?

This chapter wasn't in the book the last time.

[Romantic Night] [Danger lurks in darkness. Maybe behind every one is a pair of eyes watching them.]

[Xu Qianwen] [Zhang Lian] [Wang Yifang]

[Xu Qianwen] [Zhang Lian] [Born in Pukou]

Danger

lurks in darkness.

Maybe behind every one

is a pair of eyes

watching them.

[Episode 4] [Romantic Night]

What's going on?

The injured is male. 29 years old.

He's a sailor.

His blood vessels are ruptured.

He needs surgery now.

Contact his family.

Tell all departments to prepare for surgery.

Yes.

[Operation in Progress]

I never felt tired

no matter how late I had to stay up to save lives.

Because

I knew someone was waiting for me.

My lover

Jia Hua

is also a sailor.

Every time I see injured sailors,

I both look forward

and fear that it's him.

He has been missing for a year.

Everyone says

he died in the sea.

But I believe he's still alive.

He'll come to me.

Oh no.

The last tram!

[Wutong Road]

Chun Ying.

You scared me.

[Bookstore]

The last tram has left.

How about

we walk back together?

Okay.

Let's go.

Okay.

By the way, Chun Ying,

it's our day off tomorrow.

Want to go dancing?

Let's have some fun.

I'll pass.

I want to catch up on sleep.

Hey!

What are you doing?

Stop!

Stop!

[Tianbao Jewelry]

I think I heard yelling.

[Wutong Road]

It's so scary at night.

It's not safe at night nowadays.

Let's walk home quickly.

Okay.

Where did he go?

Where did that punk go?

Go that way. I'll go this way.

Isn’t this the apartment we passed by

after work yesterday?

It's not safe at night nowadays.

Let's go home now.

But

it wasn't easy for us to be out.

Just for a while. A little while.

Okay.

Let's go.

Let's go.

Sir, your wine. Please enjoy.

Hey.

Chun Ying.

Want to

come dance with me?

No thanks. You go ahead.

I'll just sit here for a while.

Chun Ying.

Come with me.

You go ahead.

Go ahead. Go on.

I'll go then.

Chun Ying?

It's really you.

Two glasses of wine, please.

I didn't think I'd see you here.

How have you been?

Here.

Have a drink.

Thank you.

Do I have the honor

to dance with you?

I can't dance.

Didn't you use to dance with Jia Hua?

It's been a year.

Still haven't come to your senses?

Chun Ying.

He can't come back to life.

He's not dead!

He has been missing for a year.

If he didn't die,

why didn't he come to you?

He must have his reasons.

Wake up. Don't be a fool.

Do you know what our classmates say about you?

They say you're possessed.

Chun Ying.

One shouldn't dwell on the past.

Actually,

in school,

I quite liked you.

What does his survival have to do with you?

I'm willing to wait. I'm choosing to.

You...

Another glass, please.

Hey.

We found him.

Report back.

Yes, sir.

Come back with us.

You can't escape.

Chun Ying.

Chun Ying.

Why did you drink so much?

Don't drink too much.

I'm fine. Don't worry about me.

Go have fun.

W-Will you be okay alone?

Go, go, go.

Be careful.

[New World]

Chun Ying.

What do you want?

You're drunk.

I'll give you a ride.

No need.

-You can’t even stand still. -Let go!

Don't be stubborn.

Chun Ying—

Let go of her!

Why are you back?

If you come near Chun Ying again,

I won't go easy on you.

I've put up with you for a long time.

Leave me alone.

Sir.

This lady is really drunk.

I don't need you to see me off.

Do you know each other?

We'll get off if you won't drive.

Don't.

I was just asking.

Where are you going?

Drive to

Hesheng Hotel.

Okay.

[Hesheng Hotel]

Careful.

Slow down.

You drank so much.

It breaks my heart.

Where am I?

You're awake.

Who are you?

It's me, Chun Ying.

Don't come near me.

Chun Ying.

Who are you?

Don't come near me!

Hold on.

Jia Hua?

Chun Ying.

It's me.

It's me.

What took you so long?

I missed you so much.

You're injured.

I'm fine.

It's just a scratch.

Let me see.

This is not a scratch.

This medicine isn't enough.

I have a doctor friend.

Let's go to him now.

He'll keep it a secret.

No.

If they find out,

you'll be in danger too.

Who are they?

The Maritime Gang.

This story is related to the Maritime Gang.

[Hesheng Hotel]

Hello.

Hello.

The man and woman who just got a room here

left their bag in my car.

Room 204.

Come down as soon as you're done.

Okay.

Yu told me

to transport

a dozen boxes of red wine

for his friend.

But only when the wine was delivered...

Why is it all wine?

-And someone verified it did I realize... -Where are the goods?

that they were making us transport

crude opium.

Why is it all wine?

-I don’t know. -Tell me!

I'll kill you if you don't tell me!

-But the crude opium... -Where are my goods?

was switched out by someone.

Where are my goods?

I... I-I really don't know.

Calm down!

Calm down!

Can you not touch my shoulders?

I told you not to touch my shoulders!

So what if I touch your shoulders?

Don't kill them!

Look!

They suspected

that I took the goods.

They know I'm still alive.

So they've been looking for me.

I know

that if I went to you,

you'd be in danger too.

Forget about that for now.

What matters now is treating your wound.

Listen to me.

Go to the friend I said.

It will be fine.

If there's any danger,

we'll face it together.

Okay.

Come on.

I'll take a look.

Who is it?

Hello.

I'm the limousine driver who drove you here.

Miss.

You left your bag in my car.

Jia Hua.

It's the driver just now.

He can send us there.

Hello.

Thank you.

We—

Chun Ying!

What are you doing?

Chun Ying, are you okay?

Chun Ying! Chun Ying!

Chun Ying!

Who are you?

Let her go.

It has nothing to do with her.

Miss!

I want to ask you about someone.

That is, he...

he's wearing a 8-point hat

and brought a drunk woman

to stay in your hotel.

Sorry.

We can't divulge our customers' info.

Come on.

Tell us!

Do you know what this is?

Room 204.

Naughty.

You should've told us earlier.

What'd she say? 2-0-what?

204.

The more you struggle,

the sooner you die.

I really didn't take the crude opium.

I don't know where the crude opium

has gone to either.

Don't hurt her.

Come at me if need be.

She knows nothing!

Don't panic.

I'll get to you.

Don't hurt her.

Come at me!

Come at me!

Carotid artery.

I'll cut it.

Don't hurt her!

Come at me!

Don't hurt her!

Her arterial blood will spray to the ceiling.

In 15 minutes,

she can

die of shock.

I really didn't take the crude opium.

They asked me to transport red wine.

I really had no idea!

Jia Hua.

Chun Ying!

Let go of me.

Let go of me!

Let go of me!

Let go of me!

Chun Ying.

Hurry.

Get down!

Jia Hua!

Come out!

Hand over the goods!

He's there!

Don't let him escape!

He ran away like this last time.

Running again?

You think we're fools?

It's not Jia Hua.

We got the wrong guy!

Did you hear it right?

You sure she said 204?

Beanpole!

Let's go.

Jia Hua!

Jia Hua! Watch out!

Chun Ying, don't come here.

-Don't bother about me. -Careful.

Run!

Jia Hua!

Where are my goods?

I really didn't take your crude opium.

-Chun Ying! -Where are my goods?

Tell me!

Jia Hua!

Open the door!

Open the door!

Jia Hua!

Jia Hua!

Where are my goods?

Let go! Let go!

Where are my goods?

Let go of me!

Where are my goods?

I didn't take your goods... I really didn't!

Chun Ying!

Let her go!

Chun Ying.

Are you okay?

Let's go.

Jia Hua.

The Maritime Gang has been taken care of.

Let's go to the hospital.

Come on.

Get in.

Chun Ying.

Jia Hua, are you okay?

Jia Hua. Jia Hua.

You can't fall asleep.

I'm too tired.

Let me sleep for a bit.

Hang in there.

We're almost at the hospital.

Hang in there.

Please, I beg you.

It's pointless.

It's too late.

Chun Ying.

Chun Ying.

Take me to our usual spot.

Chun Ying.

I don't want to die in the hospital.

Please.

Take me to our usual spot.

I thought I wouldn't ever get the chance

to watch the sunrise with you like this again.

Jia Hua.

For a year,

I'd been waiting for you to show up.

Don't work so hard at work

from now on.

Because

I was always right by your side.

I watched you get on the tram

and rode the tram with you.

You were so tired that you fell asleep on the tram.

I really wanted to

go and let you lean on my shoulder.

On your birthday,

I even prepared fireworks for you.

Thinking about how happy you'd be watching the fireworks

and the colorful lights shining on you,

I really wanted to rush over

and hug you.

Do you remember

when we just got together,

I often brought you here to watch the sunrise?

On our first date,

we went to the photo studio

to take photos.

Do you remember

that you kept making funny faces?

We ended up without a proper photo

even after posing for so long.

Look.

You look really ugly like this.

Suddenly, on top of the mountain,

a breeze brushed past Chun Ying's hair.

It's as if the burning soul of Jia Hua

was hugging Chun Ying for one last time.

Lu Na.

What’s wrong?

Lu Na!

Doctor!

Doctor!

Is the doctor here?

Doctor. Doctor. Hurry.

Check on her. She moved.

Is... Is she waking up?

Doctor, is she waking up?

Sudden fits.

Hold on.

How is she?

She's still unconscious.

It might've been triggered by a dream.

Is that dangerous?

She's fine now.

Her heart rate's leveled off.

Liu, note that down.

Remove this.

Okay.

Wait.

I seem to have missed something.

In past cases,

[Stab wound on the neck]

the criminal's motive was usually to rob money and to rape.

[Crime scene location: Renyi Apartment]

Where are you going?

Hesheng Hotel.

Okay.

[Hesheng Hotel]

Is she trying to tell me something?

Doctor.

I'll be right back.

Please take care of her for me.

Okay.

Pay attention to

the patient's infusion.

Got it.

Chief Inspector Zhang.

It's me, Lai.

I may have some clues

about the midnight murder case.

I think the murderer is probably

a limousine driver.

He lurks in front of the nightclub

to target those single drunk women.

If there is a car number

with the plate F1028,

it must be inspected carefully, okay?

Okay.

[New World]

Here.

Careful.

It's late.

Let's get a taxi.

Sure.

Let's take this taxi.

Okay.

Get off the car!

Get off!

Behave! Someone reported you for murder.

What's going on?

Get off.

Get off!

-Inspect the car. -Yes, sir.

Don't move!

Look.

Arrest him.

He was targeting you.

The serial killer

has been arrested.

It's okay now.

Take him back!

Thank you.

That driver was...

I think he's some

murderer of a serial murder case?

I'm not sure either.

But it's all settled.

How are we going to get home?

Let's get another taxi.

[Shanglan Port District Police Station]

Well done, Lai.

You solved another case.

The serial murder case is solved.

Along with that,

the case of Beardie and Beanpole

smuggling crude opium is also solved.

Actually, in the first place,

Officer Huang sent me to be a spy

to investigate the crude opium smuggling by the Maritime Gang.

After a strange turn of events, I ended up with some clues.

Unfortunately,

the blame was ultimated pinned on

just the two of them.

At least we've found something.

By the way,

I've been meaning to ask you this.

Are these clues

from the same informant from before?

Who is this informant?

My informant is a gorgeous beauty.

She will risk it all

for me.

Fine, forget it.

You don't have to tell me.

Make sure

you protect the informant.

Okay.

We're finally here.

Yes.

There's something

I've kept hidden deep down.

I must find him.

I'm finally back.

[Buddy Hotel]

This rundown place

is no longer the Buddy Hotel in my memories.

He saved me here back then.

This time,

I must find you.
