A police officer found a completely burned suitcase,

and that suitcase contained baby items,

such as diapers and clothes, and also a woman's belongings.

From then on, an investigation began,

because in Rio de Janeiro there was also news

from Eliza's friends

that she had disappeared.

Eliza's father believes that many people

connected to the goalkeeper have important information

and can provide assistance to the investigation.

So we walked around the farm

I stepped on a baby's photo album.

I said to the photographer, "Look what I found."

We looked through it.

It was an album with nine photos, most of them burned.

In three of them, a baby's face was visible.

Yesterday, Luis Carlos Samudio, Eliza's father,

said that his grandson is the baby in the photo

found by Folha de São Paulo's reporting team.

Since the baby in the photo was Eliza's son,

it suggested she had been at the farm, serving as evidence.

On June 29th, 2010,

my supervisor asked me to go examine a famous soccer player's vehicle…

Macarrão told me what was happening.

And here's what happened.

What did Macarrão say?

That she wanted to go to the team hotel on Friday and make a scene for the press.

So Jorge, being my nephew,

took my side, and the two of them had an argument.

They argued, and if I remember correctly, there was aggression from both sides.

The uproar outside the police station happened after a shocking interview.

Inside, a 17-year-old youth was testifying

for being involved in the disappearance of Eliza Samudio.

had supposedly participated in the crime.

A boy named Jorge

came to us saying

that he was in the trunk of the Range Rover.

At a certain point on the route,

he opened the curtain and pointed a gun at her,

and they got into a fight

and they both got hurt.

She is pistol-whipped and starts to bleed.

She was petite, the guy was stronger,

he was holding the gun, and she had already been hit,

but they fought anyway.

Eventually, he overpowered Eliza.

Both men together then kidnapped Eliza and her baby

and took them to Bruno's house at Recreio dos Bandeirantes.

She was held captive there.

Her forehead was bleeding.

When they got to Recreio dos Bandeirantes, they called Fernanda over.

Witnesses describe the woman as blond, very attractive, and with braces.

To the police, that's her.

Fernanda Salles, another one of Bruno's girlfriends.

She was mentioned in one of the 17-year-old's testimonies

that revealed the plot of Eliza's disappearance.

According to the minor,

Fernanda took part in kidnapping Eliza

from Rio de Janeiro to Belo Horizonte.

They put Eliza in the Range Rover,

During the investigation, we found out

that the Range Rover had a GPS tracker.

Everything I've been narrating,

the whole route, was tracked.

They arrived at Belo Horizonte at dawn.

They had already taken her phone away…

and held her captive at Bruno's farm.

She stays for six days at the farm,

which was a regular hangout for Bruno's friends

and various women.

There were always parties at the farm.

There are reports that there was sex, loud music.

when I approached them the day they took her.

He said they had taken her to her apartment.

That's when he told me they had taken her to die.

They met next to the Mineirão stadium and took the road.

Bola was on a motorcycle, and Eliza was in the car with the baby.

Then he told Macarrão and Jorge to follow him.

They took her to Bola's place.

but they left the child

in the backseat.

to the second room… There were three rooms.

Eliza's stay at the farm

and at Bruno's house in Recreio dos Bandeirantes.

He told us everything and showed us the house.

All eyes in Brazil have turned to this address in recent days.

This is the home of Marcos Aparecido dos Santos, known as Bola.

The place became the focus of forensic attention

since Bruno's teenage cousin

identified the property as the crime scene.

A friend of mine, a police officer at the 16th Precinct at the time,

escorted the minor to Bola's house.

As they approached the house,

the minor was shaking a lot, he was very nervous.

The officer told me,

"I've never seen a person so scared."

"I've never seen a person shake so much."

"No, I can't go in. I don't want to go in there."

He refused to go inside.

He was shitting himself, absolutely frightened.

The crime probably happened there,

because the minor was scared to death of Bola.

He must have been afraid not only of running into Bola again,

but also because he thought he would

relive the moments of terror he must have experienced there.

The minor claimed that Macarrão called him just to give Eliza a scare,

and that he didn't know the model would be killed.

After dismembering the body,

the former policeman reportedly appeared with a black bag

and threw Eliza's remains to the dogs.

We're in Vespasiano, metropolitan area of Belo Horizonte,

where the firefighters' work is about to begin.

We can see several dogs inside.

According to Jorge's testimony,

those are the dogs that ate Eliza's remains.

When we got to the house,

Bola had CCTV.

It didn't record, but he had it.

He could see it. He saw the police coming and fled.

We recognized him via photo lineup, Bola.

And we arrested him.

Marcos Aparecido was arrested this Thursday,

accused of asphyxiating Eliza Samudio at his house in Vespasiano.

We conducted a search and seizure at Bola's house

because Jorge reported

that he had told him he had chopped up and mixed

the victim's remains into the wall plaster.

We thoroughly examined Bola's house,

using forensic light

to trace blood and other biological fluids or hair,

anything that could confirm Eliza's presence in the property.

We thought that maybe Eliza could've been buried there.

We had sniffer dogs,

but we found nothing related to Eliza.

We thoroughly examined the area where the dogs were kept,

but nothing was found.

What gives us certainty

that the dogs did not feed on Eliza's body

was the absence of blood in that space.

It's impossible to have this kind of

dismemberment of a body without there being bleeding.

JUNE 10 MOMENTS AFTER ELIZA'S DEATH

When I went to the farm, only Bruno and Sérgio were there.

After a few minutes,

Luiz Henrique and Jorge arrived only with the baby.

Just them and the baby.

I didn't go. Bruno went there to take the baby.

I don't know what they told Bruno, but Bruno asked me to look after the baby.

He said,

"She left the baby with Luiz Henrique and asked me to take care of him,

to figure it out."

The baby was crying, hungry, wet.

I changed his clothes.

His diaper, actually.

I changed his diaper,

gave him a bottle because he was crying, he was hungry.

I gave him the bottle…

During the hearing,

the prosecutor presented a letter from Bruno's ex-wife.

Dayanne wrote that Sérgio Rosa Salles

said that Macarrão's intention was to kill Eliza and her baby.

What hurts a lot

is knowing how… she died.

Sometimes I think of her last

seconds of life…

knowing that her son would likely have the same fate.

and go from there.

The search for Eliza Samudio's body is focused in Lagoa dos Tocos,

in Ribeirão das Neves, Minas Gerais.

After receiving a tip,

police began searching yesterday in another lake in the city.

Where is Eliza's body?

It's a question that thousands of people would like to have the answer to.

There were many assumptions.

I heard many stories that there was a clandestine cemetery

in the metropolitan area of Belo Horizonte.

I heard that they threw her in a ditch

and poured builders' lime on top of it.

An anonymous tip led firefighters to this farm,

supposedly used by former police officer Marcos Aparecido dos Santos, a.k.a. Bola.

Multiple excavations have occurred at the site

to try to locate the model's body.

The firefighters searched inside two cisterns found in the area.

We searched the whole area, and nothing was found.

Firefighters conducted excavations at the farm once owned by Bruno

in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte.

The excavations ended without uncovering the mystery

of where Bruno's ex-lover's body is.

All the suspicions we had based on tips,

burned tires where a person could have been burned,

slopes, riverbanks, places where we found pieces of clothes…

We did lots and lots of tests,

of every kind imaginable,

in search for traces of Eliza.

We didn't find anything.

The search for Eliza Samudio's remains is suspended

until a new tip comes in.

Even without the body,

And they forgot to cover…

Eliza.

They forgot the victim,

making the perpetrator of the crime

the main character of the story.

The news of Bruno's comeback to soccer sparked criticism on social media.

Goalkeeper Bruno reported to Boa Esporte this morning, in Varginha, Minas Gerais.

The club lost all of its sponsors after announcing Bruno's signing.

Today, we see other cases of players who raped and who are in prison.

Of course, Bruno's case is extreme.
