The night of Malaysia's party,

Matt just straight out told me, like,

that he had been to strip clubs

and obviously I didn't know that.

So, it was...new.

There would be times when I would go to the strip club

and then there would be times where I wouldn't go for a year.

It's been extremely difficult,

how my choices...to be in places

when we've put so much work into trusting

and for me to put you in a position...

It hurts me, and I know it hurts you.

I have been using going to strip clubs

as a coping mechanism for stress and for lack of self-worth.

As a youth, I was hard on myself.

I remember feeling so frustrated with myself

that I couldn't make friends, that I couldn't hold friends,

that I didn't fit in.

I would go home, lock myself in a closet,

and just repeat all the negativity

that I felt to myself.

And I never talked about it.

And then being exposed for those coping mechanisms

was extremely painful and really took me back to that closet.

-The crazy thing is to me that Kenny and Jen

were mad at Malaysia.

-She was probably like, "I just got this news.

I'm devastated. This is crazy."

-I just think that no one knew what was really going on

and that was the issue. -Right.

-I'm gonna call her and see how she's doing

because literally, I feel bad for her.

you need to conform to the way we see LDS people.

And so, there's this pressure to have this secret life.

There is some massive shame in the LDS church.

The church's rigidity makes you hide everything

and pretend like you're a perfect person.

It makes it difficult for people to ask for help

in this community.

And once you start hiding things,

before you know it, you've hidden a whole life.

-From, like, my church's perspective

or Matt's church's perspective,

there's not an expectation to be perfect.

-But I think in Utah, there's, like, this ultra-perfectionism.

-Yeah. -It feels so much heavier

than it would in most communities.

-We'll help them through this.

-You know, when we got married in the temple,

like, that was a commitment to me only being with you

and you only being with me

and being loyal and having that deep trust.

Like, for me to have you go to a strip club,

like, that might not be a big deal to the rest of the world,

I don't know, outside of Utah

or outside of our religion or our beliefs,

but to me...it feels... like you weren't loyal.

I mean, is it hurtful to me? Yes.

Do I wish that it was illegal? Yes.

I wish that women didn't make money for selling their bodies.

But that's reality.

And I think a lot of people

and marriages and men struggle with this.

And I think it's an intimacy problem.

I think it is a connection problem.

It's complete betrayal of your trust.

I just genuinely thought that I could overcome it by myself.

-So, a little over a year ago, Matt went on a lunch

with my husband's ex-wife.

He said I was a gold digger and a homewrecker.

I didn't reach out to Jen about all those comments.

I just didn't want to rock the boat.

You know, I was a brand new agent at Presidio

but now that Matt is showing that he's a hypocrite,

I feel like now I need to say what needs to be said.

Going back to the party,

I don't think any of the accusations

that happened started from us.

-Nobody has said that someone here started it.

-Yeah, we're not pointing any fingers today.

We're not.

We're coming together as a group and resetting all of us.

What you're talking about, let's reset that, too.

Let's remind everybody in this room --

-...who we are and what we stand for.

-It just feels like none of us need to be in this meeting.

-Yeah. -That's what it feels like.

It obviously feels like it's about me.

My actions probably spurred it as a reminder,

but this meeting is not about me.

And everyone in this room was impacted by it.

-If this meeting was on, like,

personal accountability and about moving forward,

I understand, but I feel like we're being targeted here.

-You feel like you're being targeted?

-It's putting an emphasis now on us.

I feel like none of us asked to be put in this position

or to be a part of this position, either.

-No one here is in trouble.

Like, you guys are acting defensive,

and I'm, like, why are they so defensive?

-Absolutely.

-This paper is only talking about that situation,

but we're not even talking about that situation.

-Nothing on that paper says that situation.

-The emphasis on this paper, what is highlighted

is what I just -- -The Code of Ethics

that we are all bound to.

-But it has nothing to do about the standards that we're living.

-You don't get to choose somebody's standard of living.

-Yeah, you don't get to decide what they do.

You get to decide how you react to it.

It is important in our direction of raising the bar

to let you know what this code of standard is in the industry,

and then what ours is at Presidio.
