=Episode 14=

Qiluo,

you are perceptive,

even seeing through Father's plans.

If you continue to assist me,

not just Xuan Lie,

even Beixuan

will be within my grasp.

With your ambitions,

Mr. Xi must be pleased.

So I must make Father the Wolf Lord.

I want him to be proud of me.

Where is the ambush set for tomorrow?

Make sure nothing goes wrong.

Rest assured.

There's an inevitable path

to the forest.

I've had men set up spike traps there.

The moment Xuan Lie passes,

they'll be activated.

Tomorrow,

the path will be his burial ground.

Qiluo,

don't stand with him anymore.

Miss Qiluo is my strategist now.

Isn't it normal that she stands with me?

- But you... - I've arrived.

Mr. Xi, thank you.

All right. See you tomorrow.

I thought you didn't want to be near me.

Why are you here?

Qiluo,

I've been thinking.

Since you're going to the Xi Clan for the mine,

after it's done,

you can still be with General Lie.

But you haven't reconciled.

I'm afraid when you want to return,

General Lie might still be upset.

Wouldn't that be a pity?

So today, I plan to help out.

I'll ease the tension between you two.

Zhaomin.

I know you're hesitant.

Don't worry.

I'm here for you.

I'll help you out.

Just talk to him.

I'm sure you can work it out.

Zhaomin.

General Lie, Zhaomin seeks an audience.

Come in.

General Lie,

are you a good man?

If you are,

stop avoiding Qiluo.

She works with Xi Mo now.

It's so disturbing.

I can't stand it.

How could you take it?

I can't, either.

Then it's easy.

Look, I brought Qiluo here

to mediate between you two.

Since you don't want to

see them together,

you should reconcile with Qiluo.

Sir, just as you predicted,

your brother's been found.

Everything is now arranged.

Just waiting for your command.

Where are you going?

I haven't finished.

Qiluo and I have something to do.

What's going on with you?

We should split up

to avoid Xi Mo's suspicion.

Princess,

could you do us a favor?

So beautiful.

There's more.

It is... good.

That's Xi Manor in Royal City.

Woshan discovered long ago

the blast wasn't natural.

I suspect it was Xi Changkun's doing,

but I couldn't find any evidence.

Today, I went to his tent

and took his pass token.

Woshan entered his manor with it

and found the gunpowder stash.

When no one was around...

You blew it up.

That's ruthless.

He almost got you killed in the mine.

I must teach him a lesson.

His target is you.

Not me.

By the way,

tomorrow,

when you reach the entrance,

you must be careful.

Xi Mo has set up spike traps there.

That's deadly.

You're ruthless, too.

That's why I keep reminding you.

You're worried about me?

Is it that hard to admit?

It's over. Let's go back.

Don't leave. There's more.

More?

♪We come from a time of chaos♪

It's so beautiful here.

What kind of flower is this?

It's a blue snowflower,

blooming once every decade.

I've never seen them bloom like this.

Seems like we're quite lucky.

You know,

there's a legend in Beixuan.

If you make a wish in a sea of blue flowers,

it will come true.

Make a wish.

I, Xuan Lie,

vow by the sun and moon:

Jun Qiluo shall be my only wife in this lifetime.

If I break this vow,

may I face endless doom.

♪Allows you to camp in my heart♪

Father.

This wine is from Cangzhou.

Tomorrow, when we triumph,

we will celebrate here

with this fine wine.

How are you sure we'll win?

Qiluo has planned everything.

Not just the contest,

even the Wolf Lord's position

belongs to the Xi Clan for sure.

Answer me.

What's the story with the official seal?

Father,

I made a deal with Qiluo privately.

She made Xuan Lie lose the first contest,

and I allowed her to transport some black iron crystal.

Since she fulfilled her part,

I can't break my promise to her.

Otherwise,

she won't work for us in the future.

Did she make you steal the official seal?

She had no idea the seal was at the manor.

I figured

you wouldn't take something that important

with you,

so, I went back to the manor.

Usually, you're not so meticulous.

Why do you think so much

when she's around?

Perhaps because of her carefulness.

These days, I've been close with her

and learned a bit.

Well,

she will cause the death of you.

Why do you say that, Father?

That woman is full of tricks.

Don't believe anything she says.

In Liangzhou,

haven't you suffered enough?

She offers you small favors

to gain benefits.

Yet you speak for her all the time.

How can I be at ease?

But she did put Xuan Lie at a disadvantage.

How do you know they're not acting

to deceive you?

Oh no.

I've told her tomorrow's plan.

If she's deceiving me, then...

You fool.

- Sir. - What's wrong?

The manor got blown up.

What?

How did that happen?

It's under investigation.

Maybe the gunpowder for mining

- exploded. - No way.

I stocked it in a damp room

facing north.

How could it explode?

My token.

It's Xuan Lie.

Mr. Xi.

My lady is not available.

Is she unavailable or absent?

What do you mean?

Step aside.

Mr. Xi.

Let me see if she's really here.

Mr. Xi.

You can't go in.

She is bathing.

She...

Mr. Xi, look,

she is upset.

My lady values honor most.

Mr. Xi, do not ruin her reputation.

Qiluo,

I didn't mean to intrude.

I need to confirm a few things.

Mr. Xi, please leave.

If you insist on staying,

it's going to cause a scandal.

I'll come back later.

Stop looking.

He left.

Good thing

he didn't intrude.

I had my fist ready for him.

Are you still mad at me?

I had urgent business last night.

What gave you the audacity to barge into my tent

so disrespectfully?

Last night, Xi Manor caught fire,

and Father suspects it's Xuan Lie's doing.

You and he...

You said it was Xuan Lie's doing.

What does that have to do with me?

After returning to my tent,

I didn't leave again.

Mr. Xi,

don't accuse me of false charges.

I lost my temper last night.

I broke the rules.

I apologize to you.

The contest is near.

We'll settle this afterward.

I heard the Xi Manor had an explosion.

It caused quite a commotion.

Have you discovered the reason?

General,

don't listen to the nonsense.

Things are dry in winter.

Fires are normal occurrences.

There was no explosion.

Mr. Xi, you're right.

An explosion requires gunpowder.

Your manor isn't a gunpowder storehouse.

How could it explode?

It must be exaggerated rumors.

General,

I suggest you focus on the contest.

Last round, your clan got only three plaques.

If you lose the next round,

the Wolf Lord's position will be out of reach.

Thank you for the reminder.

(Su Sun Luo Xi Xuan)

The second round is the hunting exercise.

It lasts for four hours.

Each clan sends five participants.

This contest tests

strength and reflexes.

The result is based on the prey's weight.

If the weight is equal,

the one with more prey wins.

The trap is already set.

Why should we watch it here?

Winning the contest is key.

Leave the contest to Father.

I just want to see Xuan Lie fall.

Let's go.

Was it you?

Have you been deceiving me?

What do you mean?

Father was right.

Your words are worthless.

Luckily, I was ready for both.

Xuan Lie is doomed today.

Let go.

Where are you going?

Jun Qiluo.

Don't follow me.

What are you doing?

Stop it.

Don't try to warn Xuan Lie.

Jun Qiluo, stop!

Xuan Lie, it's an ambush!

Jun Qiluo!

I will end you!

He's committed many wrongs.

In the end, he harmed himself.

What a pity.

Let's go.

Young Master.

Young Master.

Miss Jun, why are you here?

Earlier, Xi Mo set a trap,

intending to harm Qiluo in the woods.

- What? - Anyone hurt?

No harm done.

He Jiyao,

escort Qiluo out of the woods.

Make sure no one sees you.

Especially those from Xi.

Understood.

Luo Qi and I will continue the contest

while there's still time.

We can't surrender easily.

Once out of the woods, head straight to the tent.

And remember,

we know nothing

about Xi Mo's death today.

Be careful.

My Lord.

Why was Xi Mo here?

My Lady...

Are you worried about Jun Qiluo?

No, it's not that.

Xi Mo came with Miss Jun.

Now, only Xi Mo is seen.

I suspect

Xi Mo's death is her doing.

Your first reaction betrayed you.

I heard she saved you when you were hurt.

She even carried you back, ignoring status.

Compassion will prevail.

If it stirred compassion in you,

I can understand.

She saved me,

and I owe her.

My Lord,

your opponent is General Lie.

It has nothing to do with Miss Jun.

Let me kill him for you.

No.

I never intended to harm Lie.

Even if we share the same goal,

fighting would only lead

to our mutual destruction.

That's why I've been trying

to stop him from competing.

Your foot is injured,

so don't join me this time.

Thanks for your concern.

But the Xi Clan has been ambushing in the forest.

You were worried about exposure

and haven't had time to plan.

No worries.

Consider this

as an open rivalry between me and Lie.

Your Majesty,

time is almost up.

Send someone to remind them.

Yes.

Mother,

you're making my hand sweaty.

It's much warmer

at noon.

Your riding skill's improved.

You're giving it your all.

They've caught so much.

Don't worry.

Keep practicing more,

and you will get better.

My Lord.

Mo's not with you?

I haven't seen him.

Take it back first.

The Xuan Clan won.

General Lie's prey weighs the most.

Your Majesty,

the Xuan Clan won.

General Lie's prey weighs the most.

Congratulations, Your Majesty.

Excellent.

Next is the Xi Clan, followed by Sun Clan,

Luo Clan, and Su Clan.

Yet Mr. Xi hasn't come back.

What?

Mr. Xi is still in the forest?

It's reported

Xi Mo hasn't returned,

so Mr. Xi entered the woods again

to look for him.

He hasn't returned yet.

Announce my decree,

the curfew starts earlier tonight.

No one is to wander without reason.

Send more people to assist Mr. Xi.

Yes.

Mo!

Mo!

Mo...

Mo!

Mo...

Mo...

Mo.

Mo.

It's Xuan Lie

and Jun Qiluo.

Mo,

I will avenge you.

(Grand Chancellor's Mansion)

Jun Feifan is a woman?

That's right.

Do you have proof?

Chancellor,

I've captured Jun Qiluo's nanny.

This is enough to prove

that Jun Qiluo is indeed Jun Feifan.

Chancellor,

what do you think of this news?

What reward do you want?

Please help me become Jun Manager.

Once this news spreads,

she won't be a threat to you.

Jun Chengliu is now unconscious.

The Jun family's enterprises

are almost under your control, right?

Chancellor,

I, Jun Yujue,

will become Jun Manager rightfully.

Also, I must

crush Jun Feifan.

Very well.

I am aware of it.

Proceed as you see fit.

Thank you, Chancellor.

Chancellor,

I shall take my leave.

Mr. Zheng.

Chancellor,

do you truly intend to help Jun Yujue?

What surprises me is

Jun Feifan is actually Jun Qiluo.

Jun Feifan is Baigong's heir.

As Jun Qiluo,

she has stayed in Beixuan for long.

She might inevitably know things

she shouldn't be aware of.

Set off to Beixuan to find her.

If she doesn't follow the rules,

just end her there directly.

As for the King...

Baigong's heir belongs to His Majesty.

If we condemn her

for betraying Yannan,

the king will handle it himself.

Has the crystal been moved?

I've arranged for them to split up.

One group will go by water,

and the other by land.

Be more cautious lately.

Xi Mo died on the field.

Tonight, Beixuan will not be peaceful.

My Lady,

why don't we leave now?

It's not the right time.

Where have you been?

I blow the whistle every day.

Why did you never show up?

What for?

Even if there's nothing,

you must stay close for safety.

The venue is heavily guarded tonight.

If you bump into someone,

you'll be in danger.

I'm handling matters for Miss Jun.

No one will harm me.

Miss Jun.

That's all you think about.

You just ignore me.

I told you

whenever I blow the whistle, you must appear.

Otherwise, our deal is off.

Mr. Shao.

It's no longer safe here.

Tonight, I'll sneak in and get her out.

You'll back me up.

If Beixuan's troops notice, they will send pursuers.

Kill them all and leave no loose ends.

Understood.

(My Lady,)

(I will take you back to Yannan.)

My Lady.

My Lady?

Qimin?

You did this?

Where are you taking me?

Back to Yannan.

How dare you act on your own?

Stop.

You said,

once we get the crystal, we'll leave.

Now that we have it,

we have no reason to stay.

I am already with Xuan Lie.

Qimin.

Brother.

Brother.

Brother.

Father.

Xiu,

mark my words.

Xuan Lie and Jun Qiluo

caused your brother's death.

From now on, they are your enemies.

Impossible.

It can't be General Lie.

It must be Jun Qiluo.

Neither of them is innocent.

From now on,

you must not see Xuan Lie.

Do you hear me?

Lie,

Xi Mo is dead.

Are you involved?

While trying to kill Qiluo,

Xi Mo triggered his own trap and died.

It's that Yannan woman again.

Your Majesty,

it has nothing to do with Qiluo.

She only pretended

to join the Xi Clan to help me.

This trap was set by Xi Mo.

He seeks my demise.

Luo Qi requests an audience.

Your Majesty.

Young Master, Miss Jun's missing.

Xi Mo just died.

Yet this Yannan woman vanished during curfew.

Lie,

how can I plead for you?

Fine.

If she really assists you,

I'll spare her for now.

Go find her.

Don't cause trouble during the contest.

Yes.

Young Master.

When did this happen?

Dongyin reported

she had only gone to get a bowl,

and Miss Jun disappeared.

Xuan Lie.

Qimin, stop now.

If Xuan Lie gets you,

he won't let you off easily.

(Arrow in black.)

The arrows are poisoned. Be careful.

Who are those people?

Qimin.

Qiluo.

Stop them now.

Stop them!

- My Lady! - Qiluo!

Threatening me with your life?

You know me.

Jun Qiluo,

he poisoned the arrow.

He's trying to kill me.

- Drop the knife. - Let him go.

I want you to let him go.

Drop your weapons.

Jun Qiluo.

You risked your life to save Shao Qimin?

Qimin is my family

and my friend.

I must save him.

But he is a man

who has feelings for you.

Why can't you be with me wholeheartedly?

Wholeheartedly?

How about you?

You cooperate for the crystal,

but you have your own motives.

Am I right?

You've never been wholehearted with me,

so why demand it from me?

Qimin's been by my side since little,

if I had feelings for him,

I wouldn't have been with you.

If we don't trust each other,

there's no point in being together.

Let go.

Let me go.

If you leave, I'll kill him.

Don't you dare.

Stop looking. Let's go.
