[Episode 7]

I'm back.

Xiao Jie's back!

Eat crab!

What good day is it today?

Why are there so many dishes?

And there's crab to eat, too.

Hurry and wash your hands so you can come and eat.

I know you love eating crab and that you've been working hard lately.

You have to prepare to participate in the contest.

I want to help you but I won't be much help.

I will just help you behind the scenes

by improving your diet.

Good work, Xiao Jie. I'm opening the crab for you.

- This crab is hard.- Let me help you.

- Give it to me.- Give it to me.- Let's share then.

- Okay .- You guys are like kids.

Xiao Jie, how is your preparation?

I've decided on the design.

It's just that the design is a bit complicated.

It needs to be finished within a certain time limit.

It's a little difficult.

May I see your design?

I can help you.

I almost forgot that

there is an expert in the house.

What expert? I'm a consultant.

It's a bluebird.

Good idea.

This is the Chinese element

within a Western design.

It's great.

See the bluebird you designed is like a

meticulous Chinese painting. Each line needs to be clear.

It will definitely take a long time to make.

Also, it's too specific.

It lacks movement and imagination.

Xiao Jie, I remember that you told me what this competition is focusing on.

It's about a heart-shaped stone design.

You should focus on that.

You did remind me of the importance.

I focused too much on the bluebird.

Since I am trying to do a nostalgic design,

it is not just about some Chinese element.

Good artistic ideas should also be considered.

Speaking of that, it has some similarities

- with the minimalism that is quite popular right now.- What?

Chicken wings!

Look. All you know is food, Yue Yue.

All you want is food.

[Pan's Jewelry]

Good students will always pretend that they sleep early.

In fact, they are studying all night long.

So, I bet you are studying your design right now.

Am I right?

Are you trying to check on my work?

[New message]

I am the bad student who skips class

and waits for the girl outside her door.

What am I thinking? It's so late, he wouldn't come.

You are faster than I thought.

It seems that I'm not the only person who wanted to see the other.

You think too much. I just came out for a walk

and look at the moon.

Tonight, the moon is really round.

I'm not going to talk to you. I need to go draw.

I have very important things to tell you.

In the next few days, I might not be able to see you every day,

because I have important things waiting for me to finish.

It has something to do with the goal

I've always wanted to reach all these years.

But if you need me,

I will show up in front of you immediately.

If it is something that you really want to finish,

I believe you will make it.

Just like when we were in danger overseas.

You can do it if you say it.

It seems like you remember everything I said.

Am I that important?

If you are bored, go to the rock-climbing gym

and have some fun. Yan Kai will take care of you for me.

I actually have something important to prepare for as well.

I don't even have time to sleep. I don't have time to be bored.

It's good that you are busy. At least you are not rejecting me.

I never promised you anything.

But now,

is there anything you want to reject me for?

You are not giving me a good night kiss?

You can also reject me.

But what I will do next,

you should know it very clearly.

Rascal. This stuck-on trick,

how many girls have you used it on?

Only you.

Goodnight.

Wait.

I know you will pass the challenge.

I will celebrate with you.

Then until the next time we meet,

we will share each other's victory...

and do each other a favor.

Like ending our being single and such.

Goodnight.

I forgot to give him the bracelet.

Next time.

[Annual Ingenuity Jewelry Designer Contest]

The first round is design drawing.

You have two hours.

After you finish, you will go on stage

and talk about your design.

By that time, you will be drawing on stage.

Not only will there be judges watching,

but also the audience.

So being calm is most important.

Under your training, even if I have my eyes closed,

I can draw the design with no mistakes.

So I will be fine this round.

I believe in you.

Fancy, being an old design company,

is there a shortage of talent already?

There aren't many talents in our jewelry industry.

The candidates are becoming more and more ordinary.

You need a set of good eyes to distinguish between

a normal stone and an uncut jade.

I think I have very good eyes.

Really?

You are not going to copy anyone's design this time, right?

You always make references to my mother's design,

don't get disqualified.

Thank you, Miss Gao. You care so much about me,

can I say that you're unconsciously seeing me as your enemy?

If that's so, it would be my honor.

You?

Take a look for your seat.

[Annual Ingenuity Jewelry Designer Contest]

Hello, everyone, our annual Ingenuity Designer Contest

officially starts now.

There are 3 rounds in the competition.

The first one is freehand drawing.

Please take your seats.

[Annual Ingenuity Jewelry Designer Contest]

Miss Lin, Miss Wu Xiaoci is here to see the competition.

Over there.

Ms. Wu Xiaoci is here.

Ms. Wu Xiaoci is like the queen of jewelry design. Who wouldn't want to do what she says?

Look at the chairs of the judges' attitudes toward her.

It's hard for her daughter to not win this competition.

Gao Jie tried her best to participate in this competition.

But she ends up being the supporting character.

As her coworker, I do pity her.

Ms. Lin is always fair.

Even if Wu Xiaoci participated in (judging) the competition herself, she would still treat everyone the same.

Also, other than having a good design, they also need to have the best idea.

Who can guarantee that Gao Hui will win?

Really? We will see then.

Okay.

Ms. Lin, it's time.

Everyone, time's up.

Please put down the pen and hand the drawing to the staff.

The next round is to talk about your design idea.

Everyone will have five minutes.

Let's have the first candidate to speak.

The other candidates will wait in the rest area.

Good Student, it's been a couple of days.

How is your thing going?

I'm a little nervous. The first step went all right.

I hope that you are as lucky.

Everyone.

Mom, aren't you resting in the VIP room? What are you doing here?

I'm here to talk to my precious daughter.

Hui Hui, don't be nervous. Just be yourself.

I know.

Gao Jie, it's your turn. Gao Hui,

you are after Gao Jie. Please be ready.

My design is called "Ordinary Love."

The red heart in the middle represents the longing for love.

The wings on both sides represent a bluebird.

The bird protects the love from storms and brings hope and peace in the end.

Just like ordinary love. No matter how many obstacles there are,

there will always be peace and happiness.

You used the wings to represent a bluebird.

Not only does it have an eastern element, but the design is also very vivid.

In terms of the composition,

I hope this piece will make people feel passionate and warm.

So I picked the ruby as the main stone. The deepest and passionate red.

Your design shows people your expectation for love.

A design like this has emotion, warmth, and a story.

I like it very much.

All the judges understand

Gao Jie's narration. Thank you.

Let's welcome our second candidate, Gao Hui.

That's Wu Xiaoci's daughter. I heard that she got many awards overseas.

She should have the best chance this year.

My work is called, "The Heart of the King." Legend says that at the beginning of the universe,

everyone's fate was decided by the Goddess of Fate.

The strings on the necklace represent everyone's life,

its obstacles, and ending.

Only the one who has a king's heart can control his or her fate

and therefore is able to control their future.

Gao Hui, as a female designer,

your work is so ambitious.

This is quite rare.

A female can be the king. My design is only for successful women.

It is only for those who want to control their own lives.

I cheer you for your determination.

Then what is your thinking in terms of the stones?

I need to thank a brave man for my piece.

He went through the rainforest in Southeast Asia

and found the most important heart-shaped red ruby stone in this piece.

With this heart, the soul of this piece is complete. Thank you.

The love of a knight completes the queen's crown.

Such a good story. Very nice.

Heart-shaped red ruby stone?

Let's welcome our next competitor.

I didn't know that you used a red ruby as well.

Such a coincidence.

And you also chose to design a necklace.

You used the same style and material as my design.

I do commend you.

Hui Hui, this is a design competition. You need to speak with your ability.

Gao Jie, your design today

impressed me. You have a lot of potential.

Thank you for your encouragement, Ms. Wu.

Ms. Wu! Ms. Wu!

You have been my idol. May I have you take a look at my design?

Yes, Ms. Wu's critique is more convincing than the judge's.

You all did well today.

I look forward to the next round.

Miss Gao Hui's design was very outstanding.

- Her "King's Heart" is so impressive.- Thank you.

Miss Gao Hui, the person who found the heart-shaped red ruby stone is your boyfriend, right?

He...

is one of my admirers.

Yu Zhi knows that I'm competing here.

Yu Zhi, you are here for me?

- Here.- It's for me? Thank you.

See you later. Thank you, Ms. Wu.

How did this happen? Yu Zhi is courting Gao Hui?

You are here.

Ms. Wu.

Let's go.

We will know the results tonight. Do you have time right now?

I'm sorry, Mr. Si. I need to go now.

Ms. Wu, Hui Hui, how was it?

Yu Yi, don't you believe Hui Hui's ability?

Yeah, Brother, you worried for nothing. With Gao Hui's ability, there's no doubt.

RIght, right, right. Yu Zhi was right, I worried for nothing.

The first round is nothing to Hui Hui.

It's too late for you to suck up to me. Yu Zhi knows me better.

Ms. Wu, the car is outside. Yu Zhi and I will take you out to dinner and celebrate.

Okay.

Mom, take this for me. I will be back.

- Don't let me and Yu Yi wait too long. - Got it.

Let's go.

How did you know that I like tulips? Did your brother tell you this?

I didn't have to ask. I could tell.

Thank you for the flowers. I have a gift for you, too.

Do you like it?

How did you know about this bracelet?

I heard Yu Yi say that you had a bracelet that your mom gave you,

and you broke it when you were climbing.

I spent a lot of effort to find one just like yours.

How do you plan to thank me?

To thank you... I'll have to think about it.

Let's go. Let's not make them wait too long.

My mother gave me this bracelet.

I keep it on me all the time,

but I broke it when I was climbing.

So, I want to ask you to help me get it repaired.

In this world, there are two women who are most important to me.

One is my mother. One is...

Yu Zhi, it looks like I'm not the only one.

You use this same pretext with every woman.

Jiejie, so that Yu Zhi is just a two-timing playboy.

I couldn't believe it either.

But the precious red ruby stone

and the wooden horse bracelet Gao Hui had in her hand

made me have my doubts.

Loser. I can't believe that I helped him to get you.

He is such a loser.

He is a playboy who likes to hunt for girls.

What's to hunt for in me?

You are young and beautiful. You are pure and innocent.

Some men see conquering different women as rewarding.

They want to collect all kind of girls.

From what I've read online with my experienced eyes,

this type of man is an expert at catering to a woman's taste.

From the clothing he wears, his manners, and what he says,

all of them are meant to cater to different types of women.

When I was with him, his words and behavior were roguish.

Today, his western suit and leather shoes were very genteel.

He really seemed like a different person.

That's it, then. In front of you, he appeared to be a sportsman.

In front of Gao Hui, he acted the part of a strong executive.

Who knows when he is with a different woman,

what different role he'll play.

Jiejie, tell me the truth. Did he take advantage of you?

No.

When I was with him, there was really nothing between us.

That's good. Anyway, when you see him, give him a slap. If you can't, just call me and I'll exact revenge for you.

You're back. Hey.

Are you finished with your work?

Yes. It's over.

Where did you go just now?

Just now? I accompanied a client out to eat.

Accompanied a client?

Male client or female client?

Both male and female.

He clearly went with Gao Hui and he's lying about it.

So, recently, you've been busy accompanying clients?

Yes. I didn't have much time to myself.

Since your work is so busy, I won't take up your time either. Go on about your business.

Hey... What's wrong with you?

Are you angry because I've been so busy lately and haven't been able to spend time with you?

So sorry. I'm really busy, too. I don't have time to be angry with you.

They say that Wu Xiaoci's daughter, Gao Hui,

is a talented designer.

Whether or not she's good isn't just for me to decide.

Lin Shuyi also couldn't stop praising her work.

In this annual jewelry designer contest, Gao Hui was spoken highly of.

Since Shuyi said that, you have to pay close attention to her.

These past few years, Cilian has been the flagship brand in the jewelry world.

I also want to pay close attention to her.

But I'm not sure whether Wu Xaoci will take the olive branch. (T/N: peace offering)

Grandmother, the Inlay Group from Rui Hua has its own reputation in the business world.

Everyone knows it. Without your support,

it will be difficult for me to deal with.

You rascal. What sort of resources of mine do you need?

Grandmother, everything I'm doing is in consideration for the future development of the Inlay Group.

I'm your biological grandson.

The Inlay Group of Rui Hua can't become like a

stepchild all the time.

Whether the Inlay Group has any future or not,

all depends on what you say.

Yu Yi, I know you want to do something big.

I will support you. But you have to show me some achievements.

Isn't that right?

If you can't reach an agreement to collaborate with Wu Xiaoci,

tell me, how can I trust that you will be able to succeed (in partnership) with Yu Zhi?

You don't have to act so quickly. Take things slowly.

Grandmother, there were lots of interesting things in today's competition.

I'll tell you about it while you drink your tea.

Good.

Thank you.

Enough. Stop drinking.

Your older brother, here, was cottoning up to Grandmother.

You, on the other hand, are drowning your troubles in drinks.

Grandmother thinks highly of you. It's enough that she has you around.

Look at me.

You've got something on your mind. What's given you that long face?

If I knew what was causing it, I wouldn't have this long face.

No more of that. I'll tell you some good news.

The list of the top five have been published.

[Top Five List]

Give me another glass.

What good is looking at that? Of course, Gao Hui is in the top five.

If she weren't, why would we be contacting her?

[Top Five List]

Gao Jie?

So that's what she's been so busy with lately.

No wonder she's under such stress.

Just wait till she gets through this, she'll be so happy.

This Gao Jie is the girl you've been talking about?

From the rainforest to the competition,

I think you two were fated to meet one another.

But this time, Gao Jie is a competitor, an opponent of our Gao Hui.

You could say that she is your opponent, too.

Said that way, it does sound a little awkward.

But it doesn't matter when my girlfriend is so talented.

I've been curious about this Gao Jie.

But now I don't need you to introduce me to her.

[Gao Jie] - When we go to the competition, I can meet her. Right?

Hello. The number you have dialed can't be reached.

Please dial again later.

[Top Five List]

Teacher Wu, please excuse me for keeping you waiting.

I've combed through (the files) and re-organized these materials

about Gao Jie. These are more detailed. You can take a look.

- Thank you. - It's part of my duty. Why be so polite?

I've taken a quick look.

Gao Jie's experience with design

isn't very deep. You can relax.

Also, congratulations on your precious daughter making it into the Top Five List.

Thank you.

Your company's Gao Jie also made the list.

Who do you think, between Hui Hui and Gao Jie,

will win the competition in the end?

They are not the same, there's no comparison.

Even though Gao Jie and your precious daughter have the same surname,

the "Gao" in Gao Jie

is at most the "gao" of wanting to reach high. (T/N: Gao means high)

Your precious daughter's "gao" is the "gao" of rising to the top.

It's not the same at all.

You shouldn't say that. This Gao Jie has some strengths.

The design of hers I saw today,

I think it has the potential to win the prize.

She's just an unsophisticated girl. She doesn't even understand the rules.

So, Director Zhou, you mean that... Who do you want to win?

Of course, it's--

Teacher Wu, just relax. The one who should win will most certainly win.

I look forward to our collaboration. I'll say goodbye now.

Goodbye.

[Address: 58 -1065 Changle Lane; Grandfather: Pan Mingyu; Mother: Pan Yue; Father: None]

Changle Lane?

She lives in Changle Lane?

Is it... recently Gao Hai has been going out the whole day. Impossible.

It can't be. He's my husband.

He wouldn't do that.

You are here.

You?

How dare you show up here?

I... I'm sorry. I just want to see Pan Yue.

Pan Yue doesn't need to see you. What's wrong with you?

You are so stubborn. Why can't you understand what I'm saying?

You were just like this back in those days, too.

You clung onto Ah Yue until she married you.

Now that Ah Yue is like this,

you... What you are doing here?

Okay, okay. Calm down.

I promise you that this is the last time. I will not bother you again.

I just want to make it up to you.

By doing what? Are you trying to talk me into

forgiving you?

I won't be convinced by you. Leave. Leave.

Don't go. Don't go. Draw with me.

Yue Yue, I told you.

He is a bad man. You can't see him or talk to him.

Dad, he gave me butterfly crackers. I like them.

Be good, Yue Yue.

I'm sorry. I'm really sorry.

- Father-- - Don't you call me that!

All right. Here,

this is a little something. Please accept it.

Take it back. Take it back!

After all these years, what you owe to my daughter and Xiao Jie

can't be made up with money.

Are you doing this so you will feel better about yourself?

Let me tell you. We, Pans, will not accept one red cent!

But I can't think of any other way

to make it up to you!

Listen to me clearly.

Since you made the decision to abandon your wife and child,

don't expect me to ever forgive you.

Let's go. Yue Yue, go home.

I'm not going back. I'm not going.

Stop fighting. Stop fighting!

Hello, there is a property in Changle Lane. Look into it for me.

Are you okay?

Gao Jie. Gao Jie!

Are you okay?

Right, I saw the other drawings from the Top Five.

There aren't many drawings that are as good as yours.

But no matter whether it's competitions or in the workplace,

it's never simple.

The best one sometimes doesn't win.

Mr. Si, are you talking about Zhou Di?

With your history, even though he has to let you compete,

he will not let you shine.

Even though Mr. Zhou has a beef with me,

this time, I represent our company.

Would he want Fancy to lose?

If you win, he wouldn't make money. If you lose,

he is not responsible. Just get ready for the competition.

I will watch him for you.

Let's go back. I want to get more familiar with the production team.

Okay.

I want to cancel this membership!

Miss, once you buy the card, you can't return it.

Where is it written on the card that it can't be returned?

If it doesn't say, then right now you're forcing me to keep it.

I can sue you.

After you purchased the membership, we bought equipment

and insurance specifically for you.

This is all written in the contract.

If you don't believe me, I will find it for you.

No need. Then can I give it to anyone?

Sure. But according to the contract

you need to pay ¥1,600 for the transfer fee.

What? You are just blackmailing me right now.

Miss, we are an official rock-climbing club.

This is not the house of bandits. We don't rob people.

Our profit comes from our services, not from blackmailing you.

Please don't insult me.

Stupid guys. It's such a godforsaken place.

I'm not coming back to this stupid climbing club again.

Godforsaken place? Who were you talking about?

What? You want to hit a girl now?

Mr. Si, thank you for sending the most experienced craftsman

in Fancy to help me compete.

Of course. They are very experienced.

I believe it will go well at the competition.

- Hello?- Hello, Gao Jie.

Come save me. Yan Kai wants to hit me. Come now.

Pinzhen, did that person get you to lie to me again?

I'm not falling for it again.

Tell him to stop asking for your help. It's so childish.

No, it's for real. Come save me.

Hello? Where are you?

The climbing club. Come now.

Pinzhen? Pinzhen?

What?

Mr. Si, I'm sorry. Something happened to my friend.

May I leave for half a day?

Will you be all right by yourself? Do you need company?

It's fine. I'm going then.

Be careful going.

Gao Jie, you are finally here.

Where is Yan Kai? Didn't you say that he was going to hit you?

Yeah, I just escaped.

If I didn't say that, you wouldn't have come.

I thought you were just lying to me.

You are here already. Just help me.

That stupid Yan Kai won't return the money and he wants to scam some transfer fee out of me.

Just help me.

Where is he right now?

Over there. Let's go.

Hello, Manager Yan. Your climbing club doesn't allow returns.

I think it's illegal and against the consumers' rights.

Good for you. If you are here to support her, you must've done your research.

You are a lot more logical than someone who isn't.

Who are you talking about, you barbarian? Do you think I'm really afraid of you?

I'm talking about you.

Do you think I can't hit you?

You see? He threatens me.

I'm not afraid of you.

One second you pretend to be a stranger

and the next second you are messing with other people's property.

What? Are you playing hard to get now?

You... You are a loser. She is not playing hard to get.

Please mind your language. If I'm bad,

then what is your friend?

I don't know this person. Don't mind him.

You don't know me?

You're even stopping routine conversation with me.

You're just ignoring me.

It seems that you have someone new.

And aren't you the one to be saying that? Shameless.

All right, I'm shameless.

Not only did you not avoid me, but you came to the club to find me.

Why?

Do you know that you are playing with fire?

You are so narcissistic.

Did you get the wrong script for a playboy?

Don't worry. If I knew that you would be here, I would never have come.

Speaking of playing with fire,

no one can compare to you who can entertain the client and

be the playboy.

What do you mean "playboy"?

Come back here!
