When it took off, it was giving
off some kind of a sweet perfume.

the ground for dear life.

Anyway, that's when I woke up.

thing through the trees, like a firestorm,

only brighter, whiter, bluer.

And then nothing.

Wham! Big as a moon rocket. She
come right at me. Big as a house.

Like they scared me clear
out of my boots. Them long,

spiny things reaching
down like they had eyes.

Most horrible thing I ever seen.

She took off like a scared
quail. Her tail feathers all laid up,

and then there was that sweet perfume.

Sick sweet.

I just stayed there until
everything stopped humming in my head.
